Fell In Love With My Older Sister’s Friend - Chapter 69
Xu Luzhi stood quietly by the head of the bed for a long moment, listening to the woman’s soft breathing and gazing at the bolster hugged in her jade-like arm, her heart aching with longing.
She even felt a little regret, wondering why she had to use a bolster as a test.
If she had put herself in first, then Lin Qingyue would be holding her right now.
Wouldn’t a soft, sweet embrace be much better than standing alone in the darkness?
Xu Luzhi licked her lips, using the faint light to find the best angle. Without further hesitation, she lifted the quilt in one go and climbed onto the bed.
As she reached out, the bolster fell back into Lin Qingyue’s embrace warm and soft, carrying Lin Qingyue’s scent. Though it was the same object, holding it now felt heavy and hot.
Perhaps because the object in her arms was missing, the sleeping woman stirred and reached out towards Xu Luzhi.
Xu Luzhi consciously moved closer to Lin Qingyue, not daring to even breathe loudly. She only hoped that in this moment, she could be an unaware bolster so that Lin Qingyue would hold her tightly.
Her slender hand searched around and finally touched the bolster in Xu Luzhi’s arms. Lin Qingyue seemed very satisfied, snatched the bolster back, and held it tight against her.
Xu Luzhi snuggled closer, exhaling softly. The two slept embracing each other, separated by the thin bolster.
Xu Luzhi slept very soundly, perhaps because she was close to Lin Qingyue, feeling completely secure and not afraid that her Jiejie (older sister/older female figure) would run away in the middle of the night. All she had to do was reach out to hold her tight.
The only downside was that Lin Qingyue didn’t cover herself well, and the air conditioning was set low. Moreover, Xu Luzhi’s own body temperature was lower, so as she slept, she felt colder and colder, and the arm pressed against Lin Qingyue felt slightly chilly.
Finally, in a half-dreaming state, she bravely snatched all the quilt over to herself, burrowed underneath, and draped a small part over Lin Qingyue.
It covered her important waist and hips, but for the rest, since Lin Qingyue wasn’t cooperating, Xu Luzhi could do nothing but let her jade-like, cool and smooth legs remain exposed.
With everything settled and both body and mind extremely weary, Xu Luzhi finally couldn’t hold on any longer, driving away thoughts of Yi Liang and Xu Luwei from her mind, and fell into a deep sleep.
When she opened her eyes again, it was because of a faint, tickling sensation exploring her neck.
“Let me sleep a little longer…” Xu Luzhi mumbled softly without realizing it, instinctively thinking she was still at home in Lin City.
The tickling stopped, and after a while, a low humming sound came again. It wasn’t exactly singing; it was a wordless, even melody less hum.
Various musical scales combined, swirling and intertwining, lingering and lingering. It didn’t sound like singing, but more like dancing.
A dance made of notes hummed from her throat, light and natural, like the gurgling spring in a mountain stream, or the zither and drum by the celestial pond.
Xu Luzhi was still immersed in her dream, but her ears had already unconsciously captured this melody and performed an automatic match in her mind, matching it to a piece of data stored in her most important place.
The heavenly song she heard when she first met Lin Qingyue.
Match degree: one hundred percent.
Xu Luzhi opened her eyes the next second, dazed and confused, not yet fully grasping the situation. She only knew she had encountered something she had been searching for a long time.
So, no matter how important the matter, she had to stop; she couldn’t miss this sound.
The smoky voice, sexy and charming, carried an innate wildness and allure, stirring her heart without reservation.
“Found it…” Xu Luzhi murmured involuntarily. When she realized where she was, she couldn’t help but blush.
She was already sleeping in the same bed as Lin Qingyue; what was there left to find?
It was just that this beautiful tune, which she had longed to hear Lin Qingyue sing even once, was now being used as an alarm clock.
While feeling sweetness, she also felt a bit of pity. If only she could have recorded it; waking up every day to her Jiejie’s voice would be such happiness.
Seeing the little one’s eyes suddenly open, Lin Qingyue immediately stopped humming and looked at her with a playful half-smile: “Found what?”
“Nothing,” Xu Luzhi instinctively moved to the side, creating a bit of distance.
The two were already too close. Lin Qingyue had woken up long ago but was still propping herself up on her arm on the pillow, looking down at her. Her dark hair cascaded down, with strands almost touching Xu Luzhi’s face.
And Xu Luzhi lay flat on the pillow, her small face still holding a hint of sleepiness, wrapped tightly in the quilt. The first thing she saw upon opening her eyes was Lin Qingyue’s stunningly beautiful face.
She stared into Lin Qingyue’s alluring peach blossom eyes for a moment, then softly pleaded, “Jiejie, can you sing it again?”
Lin Qingyue chuckled softly and gently touched the tip of Xu Luzhi’s nose: “You’re awake now.”
“Then I’ll sleep a little longer,” Xu Luzhi meant what she said, immediately acting spoiled. Her long eyelashes covered her lower eyelids obediently, her lips pressed tightly together, feigning a posture of sound sleep.
In reality, she was still very sleepy, and sleeping a bit longer wouldn’t be a problem at all.
Looking at the little girl sleeping obediently like a koala, a wave of amusement washed over Lin Qingyue’s heart an infinite softness and warmth, much like how she felt when she discovered the bolster in her arms in the middle of the night.
After waiting in the dark for a while and not hearing Lin Qingyue’s song, Xu Luzhi couldn’t hold back. She secretly opened her eyes and met Lin Qingyue’s gaze, which was full of laughter.
Their gazes locked, Xu Luzhi flushed, closed her eyes to pretend to sleep, and kept begging Lin Qingyue to sing in her heart.
Lin Qingyue’s smile deepened. After a pause, she indeed began to sing the little tune as requested, only adding some embellishments with lyrics: “Little Zhizhi, wake up quickly, the sun is shining on your bottom. The crab ran over to pinch your hand, who told you to dip it in too much vinegar last night”
The lyrics were nonsensical and random, but sung in Lin Qingyue’s voice, they were unexpectedly pleasant, winding and lingering, sounding almost like a tragic romance between Xu Luzhi and a crab.
“Stop singing!” Xu Luzhi finally couldn’t hold back, burst out laughing, sat up, and started tickling Lin Qingyue.
Of course, she knew Lin Qingyue wasn’t ticklish, but she was waiting for Lin Qingyue to tickle her back, and then naturally they would both giggle and roll around in the bed.
The girl in the bright yellow pajamas finally stopped messing around. Still reluctant to get out of bed, she flopped back onto the pillow and called out softly, “Jiejie”
No matter how many times she called, it wasn’t enough. She loved Jiejie so much, wishing she could stick to Lin Qingyue twenty-four hours a day, afraid she might run away.
“Tsk,” Lin Qingyue casually picked up the bolster and tossed it onto Xu Luzhi’s head, pretending to be stern: “Now you know to call me Jiejie?”
Xu Luzhi looked innocent and obediently replied, “I’ve always known.”
She climbed up and leaned close to Lin Qingyue’s ear, softly repeating, “Jiejie, Jiejie, Jiejie, Jiejie…”
“Enough, enough,” Lin Qingyue pleaded surrender. She had wanted to maintain a serious demeanor, but now she couldn’t. She could only smile languidly and tease her, “You came, you came, but why bring a bolster?”
There was a deep smile on the woman’s face, clearly in a very good mood: “Afraid I’d take liberties with you, little Zhizhi?”
Xu Luzhi paused for a moment, then nodded as if taking her word for it: “Mm.”
With a beaming smile, before Lin Qingyue’s expression could change, she added, “If I didn’t bring a bolster, wouldn’t it be me getting thrown out?”
Lin Qingyue imagined the scene of tossing Xu Luzhi out and couldn’t help but curve her lips. The level of joy in the early morning was excessively high.
Little Zhizhi, fighting alone, could make people laugh with just a few words more intoxicating than the finest room incense.
Lin Qingyue changed her angle and continued to nitpick: “Oh, really? Afraid I’d throw you out, why?”
Her voice lowered, and her gaze swept over Xu Luzhi slowly and deliberately: “Could it be because someone broke a promise?”
Xu Luzhi felt a little guilty; she had indeed broken a promise by arriving too late so late that Jiejie was already asleep.
Lin Qingyue got up to comb her hair, slowly grooming her long locks in front of the dressing table. She said unhurriedly, “It seems someone asked me to wait for her yesterday, and I waited until midnight without seeing a shadow, so I had to sleep alone”
With a hint of plaintive tone, Lin Qingyue’s slender figure looked even more pitiable. Even though she knew it was a joke, Xu Luzhi couldn’t help but feel heartbroken.
She quickly went over to take the comb from her hand, not even bothering to put on her slippers. Xu Luzhi said in a soft voice, “I’m sorry, Jiejie…”
She tentatively asked, “How… how did you wait for me yesterday?”
Her heart clenched slightly. Images of Lin Qingyue flashed involuntarily through her mind had she been drinking? Or was she hungover? Had she been very sad?
Imagining Lin Qingyue looking lonely and self-pitying, Xu Luzhi felt worry on one hand, and on the other, a secret joy she hadn’t noticed herself.
Knowing that Jiejie was waiting for her, that she cared about her, was an indescribable satisfaction for Xu Luzhi.
Lin Qingyue didn’t answer, just looked in a certain direction.
Xu Luzhi followed her gaze. An empty red wine bottle sat by the bar counter, and a high-stemmed glass beside it still held a small amount of residual wine.
Turning back to Lin Qingyue’s innocent look, Xu Luzhi commented, “Quite a harvest.”
Lin Qingyue smiled broadly and replied in kind, “Mm, who told me no one was taking care of me.”
She showed no fear, her peach blossom eyes looking at Xu Luzhi curiously, playfully becoming even more childlike than Xu Luzhi.
Xu Luzhi pretended to be angry, but she couldn’t really get mad. In the end, she just sighed long and deep, then said solemnly, “If the teacher is not strict, it is the teacher’s fault. It was my fault last night, so I should be punished.”
It was Zhizhi’s fault for not watching Jiejie drink.
So… Xu Luzhi quickly walked to the bar, picked up the wine glass, raised it as if to finish the remaining small amount of red wine.
Since it was her fault, it was only fair that she experience the same solitude Lin Qingyue had.
The rim of the glass was already near her lips when her wrist was suddenly gripped. Xu Luzhi looked up to see Lin Qingyue standing opposite her without her realizing when. Tilting her head, with a light flick of her finger, the wine glass was somehow snatched back by her.
Lin Qingyue threw her head back, the red wine vanishing into her throat. Her voice held a hint of mellow intoxication, her lips glistening with moisture, looking impossibly beautiful: “Mm, I’ll drink the punishment for you.”
She wouldn’t dare let Xu Luzhi drink any more, if she got drunk, they wouldn’t be able to play.
Xu Luzhi stared at her shimmering, wet lips, feeling a sudden thirst: “Why are you drinking for me?”
The number one person at pretending to be dense.
Lin Qingyue chuckled softly, tossing the question back, a familiar trick: “What does Teacher Zhi think is the reason?”
