Falling Into the ABO World, I Tamed the Obsessed Alphas - Chapter 95
Despite Shen Yuqing rushing back to school at top speed, he still didn’t make it in time. By the time he arrived, the bell had already rung.
Shen Yuqing headed toward the Mecha Department, but after a few steps, he turned around and walked in another direction.
The system asked, [Host, where are you going?]
Shen Yuqing replied, [Since I can’t sneak in anyway, I might as well take a stroll around. I’ve been at this academy for so long, but I don’t think I’ve explored all of it yet.]
He had been to the cafeteria and the auditorium once, but most of the time, he shuttled between the Mecha Department and the school gates. He hadn’t visited the other departments yet.
Silino Academy covered a vast area. When Shen Yuqing first arrived, he had looked up the information it was the largest academy across all planets, surpassing the second-largest by nearly half in terms of size.
The system, however, was still preoccupied with Song Lejin. After hearing Feng Wei’s words, it went back to review previous data records.
In the early stages, Song Lejin and Song Wangzhuo didn’t have many confrontations. Most of their clashes occurred after Song Lejin discovered the shift in their identities, forcing him to make some unfavorable decisions due to conflicting interests.
But in the original novel, this plotline should have unfolded after the protagonist shou appeared. Yet now, the protagonist shou was still nowhere to be found. During the prequel phase of the story, they shouldn’t have had much interaction.
So where exactly did things go wrong?
And why had Shen Yuqing been fixated on Song Lejin from the very beginning? Had he already noticed something amiss?
It wanted to ask, but it didn’t know how to bring it up.
Ignoring the system’s convoluted thoughts, Shen Yuqing strode toward the Arts Department. When he thought about touring the academy, the first place he wanted to visit was the Arts Department.
Song Lejin was there.
The Arts Department was divided into many classes, but Shen Yuqing easily found out where Song Lejin was at that moment.
He shifted his gaze from the electronic screen and walked straight to the back door of Arts Class (1).
The Arts Department’s classrooms weren’t much different from those in the Mecha Department, except that the desks were replaced with various musical instruments, paintbrushes, and the like.
Standing at the back door, Shen Yuqing peered through the glass window and immediately spotted Song Lejin.
Seated at the piano, he was playing a piece this was their instrumental class.
Shen Yuqing listened for a while before asking, [What’s the name of this piece? It’s quite nice.]
The system scanned it. [Desire’s Flame.]
The melody of the piano indeed matched the name well. Listening to it, Shen Yuqing even felt a surge of excitement.
Unfortunately, he had arrived late and only caught the ending.
Amidst a round of applause, Song Lejin stepped down from the stage. Soon after, another student took his place at the piano, but their performance wasn’t as impressive as Song Lejin’s.
After listening for a bit, Shen Yuqing turned and left.
The system asked, [Not listening anymore?]
Stretching as he walked, Shen Yuqing replied, [Nope. Let’s check out some other places.]
True to his initial intention, Shen Yuqing simply wandered around the campus, eventually finding a comfortable resting spot to sit down.
He leaned back on the bench, tilting his head up to gaze at the towering tree above. Summer had arrived, and its lush green foliage was so vibrant it instantly lifted one’s spirits.
Shen Yuqing, in high spirits, even took out his light computer to capture the moment.
The system, on the other hand, felt like it was about to burst from anxiety, while Shen Yuqing remained leisurely.
It spoke up: 【Host…】
Shen Yuqing sighed: 【Go on.】
The system said: 【About Song Lejin…】
Shen Yuqing replied frankly: 【Like I said, I don’t know why either.】
The system’s data fluctuated slightly—it wasn’t entirely convinced by Shen Yuqing’s words.
Shen Yuqing continued: 【Think about it. You’ve been monitoring Song Lejin for so long, and he hasn’t slipped up even once. How could I possibly catch him out? Besides, relying solely on Feng Wei’s word is too hasty, so…】
He paused.
The system pressed anxiously: 【So what?】
【We wait.】 Shen Yuqing answered.
Truth be told, on the way back, he had turned the matter over in his mind but still couldn’t figure it out. He had even wondered if Song Lejin had also awakened.
But he quickly dismissed the idea.
If Song Lejin had awakened, the system would have detected it.
When he went to the art department to observe Song Lejin, he had also intended to scrutinize his daily behavior. But after watching for a while, Shen Yuqing felt it was unnecessary.
As the old saying goes, you can’t wake someone who’s pretending to sleep.
If someone is determined to maintain a facade, it’s nearly impossible to spot their flaws.
So by the time he walked away, Shen Yuqing had already accepted it since there was no concrete evidence now, they would just have to wait for Song Lejin to slip up.
Even the best horse stumbles.
He refused to believe he couldn’t uncover Song Lejin’s tricks.
Besides, his relationship with Song Wangzhuo had improved significantly even the favorability rating had turned positive! Their tutoring sessions had essentially bound them together.
With them meeting daily, if Song Lejin truly intended to target Song Wangzhuo, Shen Yuqing would surely notice.
Thus, 【waiting】 was the best course of action for now.
The system couldn’t decipher Shen Yuqing’s thoughts either and could only say: 【Alright, host. I hope we’ll get a satisfying answer soon.】
Shen Yuqing hummed in agreement: 【Don’t worry. I have a feeling we won’t be waiting long.】
Moreover, he sensed that after one more encounter, he would finally understand what Song Lejin was truly after.
Shen Yuqing returned to the classroom just in time. Students were already filing out, eager to grab lunch and rest after a long morning of classes.
Song Wangzhuo was no exception. After packing up his books, he stood to leave only to see Shen Yuqing waving at him from the doorway.
Song Wangzhuo walked over, his eyes sweeping over Shen Yuqing from head to toe before asking, “Feeling better?”
Shen Yuqing coughed lightly, recalling his excuse about not feeling well that morning. “Yeah, much better. Spent the morning resting in the infirmary nothing serious.”
Song Wangzhuo lowered his gaze but said nothing. He knew Shen Yuqing hadn’t actually been in the infirmary.
But if Shen Yuqing didn’t want to explain, Song Wangzhuo wouldn’t pry.
Everyone had their secrets that was only natural.
Side by side, they walked out together. Shen Yuqing asked, “Still heading to the cafeteria later?”
Song Wangzhuo nodded. “Yeah.”
Shen Yuqing had given him too many “Shen Family Employee” perks, and thanks to him, he felt he’d gained some weight recently.
When they reached the point where they had to part ways, Shen Yuqing waved at him. “Go on, I’m heading back too. I won’t come over to your place later just rest straight away.”
Song Wangzhuo gave a quiet hum in response, watching as Shen Yuqing turned briskly toward the school gate.
He couldn’t help but wonder so why had he come back?
Just to exchange those few words with him?
Only after Shen Yuqing’s figure disappeared from sight did Song Wangzhuo withdraw his gaze and head toward the cafeteria.
But after just a few steps, he sensed someone watching him.
He followed the direction of the gaze but saw nothing. An illusion?
Pursing his lips, Song Wangzhuo dismissed the thought and continued on his way.
Not long after he left, a figure in a school uniform emerged from around a corner.
The person lowered their head to check their phone they’d nearly been caught while taking the photo just now.
The man scrolled through the images he’d secretly captured.
This time, his post was definitely going to take first place!
When Shen Yuqing got home, only Xiao Zhao was there.
He asked, “Where’s Pei Yiyan?”
“Young Master Pei went with Wu Yi for a medical checkup. They called earlier to say they won’t be back for lunch,” Xiao Zhao replied. “Young Master, lunch is ready. Shall we eat?”
Shen Yuqing nodded. “Sure.”
Perfect he could take a nap after eating.
Pei Yiyan had been having nightmares the past couple of nights, so Shen Yuqing hadn’t slept well either. A midday nap would help him catch up on rest.
Just thinking about sleep made him yawn involuntarily.
He really loved sleeping.
Shen Yuqing couldn’t help but ask, [Does the Shen family have some kind of magic? Every time I come back; I just feel sleepy.]
The system replied succinctly, [No. You just love sleeping.]
No special magic here.
Shen Yuqing huffed and ignored the system.
Who didn’t love sleeping?
After lunch, Shen Yuqing played with Haoyunlai for a bit before heading to bed but just as he was about to lie down, his communicator rang.
He picked it up and glanced at the screen Wu Yi was calling.
Huh? Why was Wu Yi calling him?
Had something happened to Pei Yiyan?
Usually, Wu Yi would call Xiao Zhao. He knew Shen Yuqing’s number but almost never used it.
Shen Yuqing answered the call, and sure enough, Wu Yi’s panicked voice came through. “Young Master Shen! Young Master Pei has been taken by the Pei family!”
…What?
Shen Yuqing was stunned.
What did he mean, taken by the Pei family?
Wu Yi was clearly in a state of distress on the other end.
“Calm down,” Shen Yuqing said. “Explain slowly.”
Wu Yi then recounted everything that had just happened.
