Falling After Marriage - Chapter 82
Chapter 82: A Playful Tryst
Lin Jin’s earnest request for a kiss caused the lighthearted atmosphere to turn solemn, bringing a heavy silence to the room.
Cheng Sangluo’s eyelashes trembled as she stood stunned for a moment. Then, she stood up silently and began hanging the clothes back into the wardrobe. Holding the cabinet door, she kept her back toward the gradually dejected woman, staring down at her slippers and remaining silent.
It wasn’t that she was stingy with a kiss, but the phrase “about to part” had struck her heart, echoing with a strong sense of unease. She didn’t understand why a temporary separation would make her feel so flustered; perhaps she hadn’t realized that living together day and night had cultivated too many habits.
These habits turned separation into reluctance, a growing dependence that made every breath feel hollow.
Lin Jin seemed accustomed to Cheng Sangluo’s lack of response—always seeking but not obtaining, always hoping but met with silence. She rubbed the space between her brows and quietly steered the electric wheelchair out of the walk-in closet.
Hearing the hum of the wheelchair behind her, Cheng Sangluo’s palm against the door slowly curled into a fist, her face flooding with regret.
Don’t be so stingy with her, okay?
Cheng Sangluo asked herself in turmoil. When she turned back toward the door, Lin Jin’s figure was already gone. This time, she didn’t stand still. she quickened her pace and caught up, blocking Lin Jin’s path and confirming loudly, “Can you really not take me with you?”
Lin Jin looked up at the “puppy,” a faint light shimmering in her eyes. She seemed relieved that this emotionally dense person actually had separation anxiety. She smiled helplessly and refused: “I can’t.”
Like a student seeking an unknown answer, Cheng Sangluo asked persistently, “Are you going for the gambling agreement?” She leaned in close, afraid of missing a single word.
Lin Jin didn’t elaborate, giving a slight nod. “Yes.”
“Then before we say goodbye…” Cheng Sangluo spoke haltingly. Her hands gripped the armrests of the wheelchair, trapping the silent woman in her embrace. “Let’s have a proper kiss…”
She pressed her forehead against Lin Jin’s and leaned in without hesitation. What began as a tentative, light brush of the lips quickly spiraled into a predatory, deep kiss upon tasting the moist sweetness of the woman’s soft mouth.
Lin Jin was momentarily dazed, wondering how this person could change so fast—just a moment ago she was being stingy, and now she was kissing like a ravenous beast. She wrapped her arms around the puppy’s neck with a smile, whispering between breaths: “Carry me to the bed… we have plenty of time…”
Cheng Sangluo, lost in the heat of their tongues entwining, scooped Lin Jin up in a bridal carry and immediately pressed back against those crimson lips, unwilling to waste a single second.
“Mmh…” Lin Jin kissed back with intoxicating devotion. Soft moans escaped her nose as she bit down on the puppy’s lip in a moment of passion, complaining: “Why didn’t you kiss me at the start? Why did you make me wait? I hate your silence, I hate your stinginess, I hate… mmh…”
Cheng Sangluo gave her no further chance to speak, smothering her with kisses and bites until the momentum carried them both into the soft bed.
Their madness behind closed doors was like a secret known to no one. They were reckless in the dark, so stingy that they wouldn’t even let the light be a spectator.
Lin Jin sat on Cheng Sangluo’s lap, deliberately letting the collar of her loose robe slide beneath her shoulder blades, creating a scene of half-hidden beauty. This posture made her half a head taller than the puppy. When they met eyes, her gaze remained condescending, like a Queen scrutinizing the loyalty and submission of her Knight.
Lin Jin tilted her head, her eyes narrowing with a cunning glint as her finger traced Cheng Sangluo’s features inch by inch. Feeling the slight fire ignited by those cool fingertips, Cheng Sangluo impatiently took the finger into her mouth, grinding it against her teeth and swirling her tongue around it. Despite the wet, wild display, she felt no shame, meeting the madwoman’s gaze directly.
Lin Jin withdrew her finger to hook the puppy’s chin. “Do I look good in this nightgown?”
“You look good.” Cheng Sangluo looked down at the silk robe. The form-fitting material highlighted Lin Jin’s snake-like waist and graceful curves. She didn’t look like much when still, but with a slight sway, she became a soul-stealing weapon, alluring beyond measure.
“Do you want to tear it?” Lin Jin pressed her lips to the puppy’s ear, her seductive whisper far more potent than physical touch. “Quick, tear it… you’re so strong… it would be so easy… don’t you want to see the scenery inside? Don’t you want to devour me quickly?”
It was too much. This proactive embrace completely shattered Cheng Sangluo’s rationality. In the bed, she became a wild, ferocious wolf. She gripped that “sinful” waist, flipped her over with ease, and pinned the beautiful woman against the plush pillows. “Instead of tearing it… I prefer to bite… through the fabric…”
The “newlyweds” about to part ways engaged in a tryst full of playfulness. It was Lin Jin who grew playful, refusing to be confined to the bed. She intentionally fled while wearing her robe, limping toward the door. The puppy, her desire ignited, wouldn’t let her go easily, following her and “claiming” her step by step.
They wandered from the bedroom to the home elevator, then to the living room sofa, turning the massive villa into a playground of back-and-forth games. It wasn’t until they were in the middle of a heated moment on the dining table that Secretary Zhou’s phone call about the flight broke the spell.
“Secretary Zhou, remember to remind Lin Jin to message me once she’s safe.” Cheng Sangluo lugged a suitcase while keeping pace with Zhou Ran, giving careful instructions.
Apart from the legal team, Zhou Ran was the only person who knew about their marriage of convenience. She smiled at the puppy’s constant nagging and answered patiently: “Please rest assured, Ms. Cheng. I will message you as soon as we land. Furthermore, I have already arranged President Lin’s meals, daily life, and private security.”
“Good, good.” Cheng Sangluo trusted the meticulous secretary. She turned her attention to Lin Jin, nagging again: “Also, the doctor repeatedly warned her not to walk on her injured foot. Watch her closely—don’t let her run around like a free-range chicken.”
“Pfft…” Zhou Ran almost burst out laughing at the description. “I will take good care of President Lin. You can be 100% at ease.”
‘Attention passengers flying to Zehai, flight CA136 is now boarding…’
The sudden airport broadcast interrupted them. They had reached the VIP security gate. Lin Jin signaled for the secretary to wait nearby, wanting a private word with the puppy.
Cheng Sangluo squatted down, squeezing in some last-minute nagging: “Out and about, you need your keys and money, got it?”
Lin Jin looked exhausted—likely from being “tossed around” until she had no strength left—but she was amused by the puppy’s words. She laughed, “Keys and money? People won’t just give them to me if I ask.”
“I mean your ID, phone, keys, and wallet! Don’t lose them.” Cheng Sangluo explained seriously, then whispered: “I know you’re going because of trouble with the gambling agreement. I can’t help much, but if you need me, I’ll catch a flight to find you. I don’t ask for anything but your safety.”
“There is indeed some trouble that requires my immediate attention. It’s a game of capital requiring massive funds as leverage, but don’t worry, I will handle everything.” Lin Jin explained with rare patience, stroking the puppy’s hand. She gave a soft warning: “I have no other requirements for you either, except one: do not go looking for Shu Wan behind my back. No other women, either.”
“In your eyes, am I that kind of person? I cut contact with her long ago!” Cheng Sangluo protested, feeling aggrieved that the madwoman didn’t trust her. “I’ve been strictly following the agreement. You set so many traps for me that I have to be careful not to trip; why would I look for trouble? Boarding has started, go through security.”
Just as she finished, Secretary Zhou returned with the airline’s VIP manager to assist the mobility-impaired Lin Jin. “President Lin, time is tight.”
“Let’s go.” As Lin Jin was wheeled away, she kept looking back at Cheng Sangluo with regret, annoyed that the departure was so abrupt that they didn’t even get a proper kiss goodbye. Seeing the puppy standing there looking pitiful, she regretted not bringing her along as a “bed-warming maid.”
“Go on, go in!” Cheng Sangluo kept waving her hand, forcing a grin. “I’ll message you my status updates on time, don’t worry!”
Once they disappeared from each other’s sight, they both let out a heavy sigh, wondering how they would survive the long nights of the coming week.
Suddenly granted freedom, Cheng Sangluo stood frozen, not knowing what to do. She couldn’t just spend seven days carving seals at home. After thinking for a while, she decided to head back to her rental apartment to sort out her plan for reopening her old case—after all, that was the original reason for all her actions.
Ring— Ring.
A sudden phone call interrupted her thoughts. She looked at the caller ID; it was Ji Nanxing. “Hello? Officer Ji, is something wrong?”
The person on the other end was silent for a few seconds before speaking in an official tone: “Cheng Sangluo, this is Ji Nanxing, Captain of the Criminal Investigation Detachment. We suspect you are related to the disappearance of Xu Songheng. Please come to the Criminal Investigation Center immediately for questioning.”
“Xu Songheng?” Cheng Sangluo’s heart skipped a beat. “He’s missing?”
“Someone reported that on the night of the incident, you were involved in a fight related to him. You have a past grudge and a criminal record, providing a motive. We don’t have enough evidence for an arrest, but we hope you will cooperate with the investigation.”
Cheng Sangluo could tell that while Ji Nanxing sounded impartial, he was actually trying to protect her. After all, she had made quite a scene to rescue Lin Jin that night; there were too many witnesses. A few statements would be enough to get her into serious trouble.
She quickened her pace toward the airport exit. “I’ll be there immediately to cooperate.”
