Falling After Marriage - Chapter 73
Chapter 73: Addicted to You
Inside the room surrounded by mirror walls, every angle reflected the image of Lin Jin swaying her body close to the “puppy,” her mesmerizing and elegant silhouette multiplied by the glass.
The sight of that versatile, sultry dance fell into Cheng Sangluo’s eyes, triggering an immediate wave of dry-mouthed heat.
She swallowed hard, her throat tight with a parched tension.
Lin Jin glimpsed her expression—the struggle to hide her restraint—and smiled, narrowing her eyes. She asked intentionally, “Craving it?”
Cheng Sangluo avoided the swaying “peach-like” shadow before her, feigning ignorance: “Craving… craving what…”
Lin Jin didn’t press her with questions. Instead, she turned her head to look at a side mirror.
She shrugged her slender shoulders, brushed back her loose hair, and hooked her arms bonelessly around the puppy’s neck.
At a glance, the posture seemed normal, but in reality, she was pressing her curves an inch closer while secretly and provocatively pulling back an inch—a cycle of casting the line and scattering bait, fishing for the person who was on the verge of moving.
“Double-minded little puppy, you’re not being good~” Lin Jin teased, her voice then dropping into a commanding tone: “Eat.”
This woman looked as soft as ripples on a spring river, but her tone was an irrefutable command, laced with a hint of urgency.
She kept her head turned to watch the reflection; it seemed that admiring the view through the mirror was more direct and exhilarating than looking down.
Cheng Sangluo’s bowed neck hid a silent surrender.
The left side was a lingering draw. Like autumn waters passing through a winding path, flowing fine and steady.
The right side was a gentle pluck. Like a palm sweeping over a pipa, the silk strings lightly gathered and slowly twisted.
“Sss—”
Lin Jin suddenly let out a faint hiss, though not from pain.
The sudden, full-bodied kiss sent a jolt of electricity through her entire frame. This hiss was a lingering note of uncontrollable emotion.
Cheng Sangluo savored it, lost in the feeling. Her mind was a complete blank; she was already a person of few words, unable to find the right description. After a long silence, she finally found a fitting comparison:
The tip of a pretty peach, the texture of pudding, sweet as honey, and as moist as a warm spring day.
She had been kneeling on both knees for so long that her legs were incredibly numb. She simply grabbed the person sitting on her, flipped over, and fell onto the soft bed. “Don’t sleep tonight.”
Click! The small light went out.
The Next Day
The sun was high in the sky.
Too much had happened the night before. Cheng Sangluo had been electrocuted into unconsciousness by Sheng He, then saved someone without a pause, went through a heart-pounding car chase, and finally lingered on the bed.
She was like a hardworking ox, dealing with every good and bad thing thrown her way without complaining about hardship or exhaustion.
It wasn’t until dawn that she finally pulled back her aching arms, collapsed into Lin Jin’s embrace, and closed her eyes to sleep a dreamless sleep.
This exhaustion-induced sleep was undisturbed by dreams. Since the mirror room had no windows and the door was closed, there was no wind or light to stir her. She slept deeply.
As if forgotten by time, when her brow finally twitched and she woke up, Cheng Sangluo didn’t know how long she had been asleep.
She instinctively rolled over, wanting to hug the person beside her for a bit of warmth, but her arms met only empty air.
Her internal alarm bells went off instantly. She propped herself up, feeling around the empty pillow in her blurred vision. Her sleepy eyes snapped wide open.
“Lin Jin?” she called out softly. Receiving no response, her voice grew nervous. “Lin Jin?”
Not knowing where the madwoman had gone, she hurriedly threw off the quilt, scrambled out of bed, and grabbed the scattered clothes from the floor to pull them on.
As she strode to pull open the door, she heard the rustle of conversation coming from the living room around the corner.
She let out a long breath, and her racing heart slowly settled into peace. Though she hadn’t seen Lin Jin yet, the noise in the house meant the madwoman hadn’t left.
Cheng Sangluo leaned against the wall, adjusting the belt of her bathrobe to ensure she wouldn’t appear in an embarrassing state, before taking unhurried steps forward.
When she reached the living room, the “puppy” with a head of “bird-nest” hair stood there dumbfounded.
Looking at the bustling scene in the room, she froze. She couldn’t move forward, yet she couldn’t turn and leave.
At this moment, Lin Jin was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, her back to everyone. She wore the camellia robe that the puppy found most “irritating.” Her long curly hair was pinned loosely up, radiating a mesmerizing sense of maturity. Even just a slender silhouette from the back was enough to make Cheng Sangluo stare entranced.
Lin Jin swirled her red wine glass, bringing it to her nose to catch the mellow aroma, while her other hand rested on the sofa—a lazy, half-leaning posture. Her gaze pierced through the glass, scanning the city’s concrete landscape, lost in thought.
This leisurely air contrasted sharply with the rest of the room. Several young men and women in professional suits were sitting on the sofa, working busily. Someone was holding a laptop, typing with frantic speed; others were organizing thick stacks of documents, occasionally discussing them in low voices.
“Miss Cheng, you’re awake.”
Zhou Ran walked out of the kitchen, carrying a freshly prepared fruit plate. Seeing the bewildered Cheng Sangluo, she gave a polite greeting.
It wasn’t so much a greeting as a notification to her boss: her “hidden treasure” had emerged.
Lin Jin turned her head at the sound, her half-profile blooming with a smile. “Come here.”
Cheng Sangluo stepped forward hesitantly. As she passed the coffee table, the group on the sofa all turned to look at her. She swallowed hard and quickened her pace, whispering to Lin Jin once she reached her side: “Who are these people?”
Lin Jin was about to take a sip of wine when the puppy suddenly snatched the glass away. She could only smack her lips regretfully.
“Why are you drinking when the sun is so bright? I have to take you to the hospital later.” Cheng Sangluo’s grumbling was wrapped in care. She turned back to peek at the group again, more curious than ever: “What are they doing?”
“You’ll know in a bit.” Lin Jin loved to tease the puppy. She hooked her arm around Cheng Sangluo’s, leaning close to her ear to whisper: “You were so amazing last night. My back and waist are aching. I don’t care—you have to rub them for me.”
“Cough, cough…” Cheng Sangluo choked, unable to stop a fit of coughing. She couldn’t handle the madwoman’s public flirting; her face turned as red as a sunset cloud. She whispered a stern rebuke: “With so many people here, don’t you have any shame?”
“What, you dare to do it but not admit it?” Lin Jin arched an eyebrow, intentionally raising her voice: “You’re not going to recognize me after having your way with me?”
These words left the puppy with nowhere to hide. She hurriedly shoved the glass back against the madwoman’s mouth. “Drink, drink, drink! I’ll let you drink, okay? Can that finally shut you up?”
Lin Jin took the glass and had a big gulp, her alcohol-loving manner looking quite dashing. She turned and waved to Secretary Zhou, instructing: “Zhou Ran, go heat up the lunch. I’m hungry.”
After handling the meal, she looked back at the people on the sofa, her tone losing patience: “How much longer are you going to make me wait?”
The leader of the group gave an awkward “uh” and said respectfully, “President Lin, since it concerns property matters, please be patient a little longer.”
“Draft the urgent things I need first so I can see the general outline. Move faster.” After the urge, she leaned back to continue her wine.
Cheng Sangluo caught the gist of it and guessed they were Lin Jin’s legal team, so she didn’t ask further. “Let’s go sit in the dining room and talk slowly.”
“Perfect, I want to talk to you too.” Lin Jin agreed, her eyes crinkling with a smile. “Sang-zi, I don’t mind if you carry me there in front of everyone~”
“……” Cheng Sangluo was speechless, but she complied with the madwoman’s wish. In front of the group, she scooped her up horizontally, muttering: “I’ve realized you have no sense of shame.”
“What use is that thing? It’s just a bother.” Lin Jin shrugged indifferently, lecturing her: “You need to learn to discard such meaningless things and learn to do as you please.”
Cheng Sangluo pursed her lips: “Warped logic.”
Once they entered the dining room, the atmosphere grew quiet. With no one around, Lin Jin cupped the puppy’s face. “You haven’t brushed your teeth or washed your face yet, so no ‘good afternoon’ kiss~”
Though her words were dismissive, she still tilted her head to kiss the puppy’s ear, sighing in a whisper: “What should I do? I still want it. Once you find the right person for this kind of thing, it becomes an endless addiction.”
Cheng Sangluo, terrified of making an embarrassing noise, looked toward the door in a panic. “Please, there are so many people out there. Don’t mess around.”
“Don’t you… think…” Lin Jin dragged out her words, her fingertips unhooking the puppy’s belt, tracing her waist muscles with practiced ease. “It’s only more exciting when people are around?”
“Again?” At the thought of being pinned under the office desk by this madwoman, Cheng Sangluo’s heart raced like ten thousand stampeding horses, yet she couldn’t suppress the flicker of desire hidden beneath her refusal.
Just a fraction of desire brought a fatal greed. In fact, how could this double-minded person not want it? The moment she opened her eyes, she had wanted to hold Lin Jin for some warmth.
It seemed to be a law after a night of madness: the need for a hug, a light kiss, and a moment to reminisce. However, the madwoman hadn’t given her a chance to initiate the intimacy.
Clinging to her last shred of logic, Cheng Sangluo shook her head: “No, no, no… that’s too bold…”
“Then…” Lin Jin didn’t want to miss a good chance for excitement. she changed her tactic to tease the puppy: “Call me Mommy, and Mommy will feed you ‘nienie’~”
The provocation was so blunt that Cheng Sangluo’s face turned into a chimney, spraying fiery red steam.
“You really are… ugh… such foul language…” The puppy was incoherent. She hurriedly settled the madwoman into a chair and commanded: “I’m going to wash up. You sit right here and behave.”
Hmph, this ‘iron-built’ dog-thing is acting like a saint again?
Lin Jin pouted petulantly. Before the person in front of her could leave, her finger hooked into the loose belt. “Starting to disobey Master again?”
Cheng Sangluo grabbed the mischievous hand and proactively shoved it onto her abs to let her feel her fill, coaxing her helplessly: “That’s enough for now. We can take it slow tonight, okay?”
“No, I command you to eat now.” Lin Jin grew stubborn, squeezing against the edge of the table, showing off a beautiful “spring view.” Her tone was certain, her voice a flirtatious whine: “You don’t just have to eat… you have to eat excitingly… eat your fill…”
“Do you really have to do it in fear to find it exciting?” Cheng Sangluo looked determined not to give in, muttering: “You’re so immoral!”
“You have to carry me to the wall and make me happy~” Lin Jin circled the puppy’s neck with both hands. “Think about it, a wall separates two completely different scenes. You have to watch out for people appearing suddenly, and you have to serve me well. How is that not exciting?~”
