Falling After Marriage - Chapter 13
Chapter 13: That’s Right, I Have Plenty of Energy
The atmosphere in the private room instantly became quiet enough to hear a pin drop.
Lin Jin, whose waist was slender and delicate, always liked to lean languidly when standing for long periods.
She waited patiently for the puppy’s answer, a look of false sincerity and confidence curving her lips. A slight lift of her eyebrow seemed to say: You are so eager for the answer, how could you refuse me?
Cheng Sangluo gazed at those eyes, which could drown a person, her brow furrowed. She silently noted that the crazy woman used the same trick every time to lure her.
Of course, the most ridiculous part was herself, knowing it was a trap but having to jump in anyway. Isn’t she tired of it?
But on second thought, someone as rich, powerful, and manipulative as Lin Jin naturally had an inexhaustible deck of trump cards. Any one she drew would be enough to give her trouble. Refusing or not refusing, the outcome wouldn’t be good.
Lin Jin seemed to see through her doubts. She didn’t hurry her, just tilted her head and rested it against her thin shoulder, her seductive eyes curving with a hint of delicate tenderness.
Cheng Sangluo felt uncomfortable under that gaze. She quickly avoided the affectionate look and reprimanded in a low voice: “You’re trying this trick again?”
“You’re the one who followed me here to get to the bottom of things. When asking for help, you should adjust your attitude, shouldn’t you? The reasoning is simple: there’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world.” Lin Jin tucked her temple hair behind her ear, revealing an exquisite pearl earring, and complained: “Besides, I’m only asking you to stay with me for one day, not a lifetime.”
Lin Jin emphasized the words ‘a lifetime,’ as if grinding them out from the depths of her teeth. A deep, implicit meaning was hidden within, the unattainable ambition she desired.
“How do you want me to accompany you?” Cheng Sangluo put her hands on her hips, finally feeling a slight relief. Thinking it wasn’t appropriate, she quickly added: “Wait, I won’t do any of those unsavory things with you.”
“What kind of unsavory things? Drugging you and sleeping with you, or using a collar to serve me?” Lin Jin intentionally brought up old grievances, then swiftly restrained her arrogant smile, saying darkly: “The person who caused your brother’s gambling addiction is Xu Songheng. As for when it started, and why he did it…”
She trailed off, watching the puppy’s eyes widen gradually, then narrow in annoyance, letting out a laugh full of relish.
Hearing Xu Songheng’s name, Cheng Sangluo’s expression darkened but showed no surprise. She had suspected either the crazy woman or that scoundrel anyway. But the curiosity that had just been piqued was instantly shut down, causing exasperating frustration.
She suppressed her emotions but raised her voice: “Can’t you just speak clearly without being so mysterious!”
Lin Jin loved the puppy’s irritated and tongue-tied look. She couldn’t say complimentary words, and her insults lacked any real sting, adding only an agitated adorableness.
“If I don’t dangle it in front of you, how else would you play with me?” She spread her hands and shrugged, then turned to walk towards the restaurant door.
“Where are you going?” Cheng Sangluo chased two steps before turning back, grabbing the branded handbag from the chair: “Hey… your bag…”
Lin Jin thoroughly enjoyed the fun of being chased by the puppy. The pleasure of this cat-and-mouse game was sometimes more addictive than sexual arousal.
Even in high heels, she didn’t slow down, only smiling with satisfaction when Cheng Sangluo finally caught her arm.
In the midst of the tug, she swayed and lost her balance, intentionally falling into that reliable and warm embrace.
Cheng Sangluo instinctively caught her. The pearl earring brushed against her neck, the cool pearl surface grinding against a throbbing, warm vein, causing a strange flutter in her heart.
Lin Jin buried her head deep in Cheng Sangluo’s chest. The scent of sun and soap was clean and simple.
Whenever she smelled it, she couldn’t help but take a deep breath. The soothing effect surpassed the mental health pills she carelessly swallowed at night.
She looked up at the puppy with a playful smile, teasing: “Why are you chasing me so urgently? Are you afraid I’ll disappear, or afraid I’ll ignore you?”
Cheng Sangluo’s hand was still clamped around the woman’s slender waist. Hearing the provocative words, her fingers pressed hard into the soft fabric, biting in anger: “Crude!”
Pinched, Lin Jin frowned, hissing a little between her teeth, then letting out a seductive moan: “Don’t be afraid to use more force… I told you I don’t mind… you can be rougher…”
That soft, moistened sigh, like an ink-dipped brush, swept over Cheng Sangluo’s nerves, tracing out patches of bone-deep itchiness inch by inch.
The itch grew wild, invading her pores until it entangled her racing heart.
Only then did Cheng Sangluo realize that whether she glared or cursed, no matter how she expressed her disgust, the person in her arms always looked absolutely delighted.
Was this a natural contradiction? In any case, she truly had no recourse against Lin Jin.
Lin Jin stood on her tiptoes, whispering to keep her in suspense: “I’ve already told you who did it. As for the rest of the story, well, that depends on your performance next~”
Cheng Sangluo leaned her neck back, resisting the crazy woman’s closeness, even holding her breath.
She often wondered about the scent on Lin Jin. Why did it have the power to make her drop her guard? That’s why she dared not smell it closely and could only evade it.
Suppressing her urgent need to breathe, she asked in a low voice: “Where are you taking me now?”
“I have a dinner engagement tonight, and you’re coming with me. But…” Lin Jin answered honestly, her eyes looking Cheng Sangluo up and down with a hint of distaste: “Your outfit is really unsuitable for the occasion. We’re going shopping, to get you something nice to wear.”
Cheng Sangluo glanced down at her T-shirt. Remembering Bai Mu’s teasing, it was indeed a bit faded from washing, but why should she comply with the crazy woman’s demands?
She scoffed disdainfully: “First, I don’t have money for clothes, nor do I need to buy any. Second, if you think I’m embarrassing, you don’t have to take me. Third, I’m not interested in extravagant and decadent dinners, in fact, I highly dislike them.”
“Fourth, you already agreed to accompany me, and one of the conditions required you to listen to me.” Lin Jin mimicked the puppy’s tone, easily blocking her refusal, and then teased: “Principle-worshiping soldier, shouldn’t you stick to your word?”
Cheng Sangluo’s lips parted, again at a loss for words. She felt a scratching annoyance in her heart, wondering if there was any accelerated course book on verbal sparring that could help her render the crazy woman speechless.
Lin Jin firmly linked her arm through Cheng Sangluo’s. A strange heat surged at the touch of their skin. She couldn’t help but tease: “Is there any need to be this shy? You’re so hot.”
Cheng Sangluo was already suffering from a bad headache due to the fever and had to put up with the crazy woman’s harassment.
She pulled her arm away, rubbing her temples, and gave a perfunctory reply: “It means I have good metabolism.”
“Good metabolism?” Lin Jin savored the words. A flash of the puppy working high up in the air crossed her mind, causing a momentary panic in her chest, but it was quickly replaced by scarlet desire.
Under the blazing sun, this person could be singing military songs while cleaning glass, the complex safety harnesses cinching her body under the work uniform, outlining tempting curves.
She wanted to possess her. So badly.
She wanted to lock this unyielding puppy in a closet, or a secret room, or perhaps hide her under her office desk…
Lin Jin’s deep eyes shimmered with lust. She couldn’t resist pinching Cheng Sangluo’s arm, very pleased with the feel of the firm muscle.
“So… if you have a great body and boundless energy, you must be excellent in that area too~” This kind of vulgar talk, which made people’s ears burn, flowed effortlessly from her mouth.
Cheng Sangluo slapped away the mischievous hand on her arm, not having grasped the meaning that would make her blush.
She maintained a straight face and responded earnestly: “That’s right, I have plenty of energy. I could hang you up and spank you hard. I could…”
The puppy bit her tongue, suddenly falling silent.
Wait a minute, why did that sound wrong when I said it?!
