Exiled with a Useless Skill 'Gacha', but It Turns Out to Be a Legendary Pull That Only Summons Gods - All I Get Are Beautiful Goddess! - Chapter 7
With the Goddess of Wisdom, Minerva, joining our party, we immediately began acting on the information she provided.
The quest we accepted at the guild was a D-rank request: “Subdue the Monsters in the Abandoned Mine and Investigate the Ore Vein.”
D-rank was a bit of a stretch for us, who had only just reached E-rank, but with Minerva on our side, there shouldn’t be any problems.
By completing this request, we would further prove our strength.
“Master, the map provided by the guild has several inaccuracies,” Minerva said as she pointed at the parchment on our way to the abandoned mine.
“There are records of tectonic shifts in this area decades ago. Most likely, the internal passage structure has changed. Here’s the corrected map.”
The vellum she handed us had been revised from the original, now displaying a far more accurate route.
This was the power of the Goddess of Wisdom.
We had gained the means to anticipate and avoid unknown dangers before they arose.
The entrance to the abandoned mine exuded an eerie atmosphere.
Inside, it was dark, and the air was damp.
Just as Minerva had predicted, the mine’s interior was completely different from the guild’s map.
Had we trusted the original, we might have fallen straight into a pitfall trap.
“Three monsters ahead, approaching from the right passage. Kobolds. They’ll attempt an ambush. Brynhilde, intercept.”
“Understood.”
Thanks to Minerva’s precise instructions, we detected every trap and monster ambush in advance, allowing us to proceed safely.
Brynhilde cut down enemies at the front, while Freya supported us from the rear.
I stayed in the center, overseeing the situation and issuing commands.
It was a flawless formation.
Eventually, we reached the deepest part of the mine.
There, a vast hollow stretched before us, and at its center sat a massive monster, an Earth Golem, its body made of solid rock.
The leader of the monsters in this region.
“Troublesome opponent. Physical attacks won’t be very effective,” Brynhilde warned, gripping her spear.
She was right, the Earth Golem’s rocky body would likely repel most ordinary attacks.
Indeed, Brynhilde’s strike only left a shallow gash on the golem’s arm.
In retaliation, the golem’s massive fist slammed down, shaking the ground.
“Master, that golem’s weak point is the core in its chest. But it’s protected by thick armor. To destroy it, we’ll need a concentrated, powerful strike,” Minerva analyzed calmly.
“I’ll target the core with an ancient spell. However, the incantation will take time. Keep the golem’s attention until then.”
“Got it!”
The plan was set.
I would act as bait while Brynhilde disrupted the golem’s stance.
Then, in the opening that created, Minerva would unleash her magic.
“Let’s go!”
I leaped forward, taunting the golem head-on.
Brynhilde circled around to its legs and delivered a crushing blow to its massive limbs.
The golem staggered, its movements slowing.
Minerva didn’t miss the opportunity.
“O words of the ancients, become the light that pierces all, Ancient Ray!”
A blinding spear of light shot from her palm, striking straight through the Earth Golem’s chest.
The light effortlessly pierced the thick rocky armor, precisely shattering the core within.
Without even a dying scream, the golem collapsed into a mere pile of rubble.
It was a flawless team effort.
Beyond where the golem had stood, the hollow’s far wall was lined with a sprawling vein of ore, glowing with a pale blue light.
“This is, mithril ore. And I’ve never seen a deposit of this size or purity before,” Minerva exclaimed in awe.
Mithril was an incredibly rare and valuable metal, highly sought after for crafting weapons and armor.
Discovering a vein of this magnitude would undoubtedly bring us immeasurable rewards.
When we returned to the guild and reported the Earth Golem’s defeat and the mithril discovery, the entire place erupted in excitement.
Gordon clapped me on the shoulder repeatedly, showering us with praise.
Thanks to this achievement, we were promoted to D-rank.
Now, with a massive amount of mithril in our possession, the next challenge would be figuring out how to make the best use of this rare metal.
