Exiled with a Useless Skill 'Gacha', but It Turns Out to Be a Legendary Pull That Only Summons Gods - All I Get Are Beautiful Goddess! - Chapter 4
As we began our activities as adventurers, we decided to start by taking on a request at the guild.
Though we had our combat capabilities and living arrangements sorted, we needed both achievements and money to survive in this world.
My chest swelled with anticipation for this new life.
“Hmm, fresh F-rankers, eh? Then this should be your starting point,” said Gordon the Guildmaster, handing me a piece of parchment from the request board.
[Request: Herb Gathering]
[Destination: Southern Frontier Forest]
[Targets to Subdue: None]
[Reward: 5 Silver Coins]
The task was simple just gather ten specified medicinal herbs. But the reward was meager. After paying for lodging, we’d barely have anything left.
“Well, this is how everyone starts. Build trust steadily,” Gordon advised.
He was right. There was no need to rush. I nodded with a “Yes” and accepted the request.
We immediately headed for the Southern Frontier Forest. Brynhilde kept watch while Freya and I searched for herbs. Our roles had naturally fallen into place.
“Kai-san, the herbs should be growing around here, but” Freya tilted her head in confusion.
The herbs matching the sample illustration from the request were nowhere to be found. Even when we spotted some, they were sparse.
(At this rate, gathering ten might take all day.)
Just as I thought this, Freya closed her eyes and focused, as if listening intently to something.
“I hear the earth’s voice. This way,” she said confidently before striding deeper into the forest.
Following her skeptically, we soon found a sunlit clearing where the herbs grew in abundance lush, vibrant, and of excellent quality.
“Amazing, Freya! How did you know?”
“As the Goddess of Fertility, I can converse a little with the earth and plants,” she replied with a gentle smile.
Her abilities apparently extended to scouting and detection too. With this, we’d complete the request in no time.
Just as we began gathering, Freya stopped us. “These are already good enough, but let me make them even better for you.”
Standing at the center of the patch, she spread her arms and chanted as if in prayer:
“Life, sprout forth. May the sun’s blessings be here now, [Blessing of Earth].”
Warm light spilled from Freya’s body. As it showered the ground, the herbs visibly grew stems thickening, leaves darkening, radiating vitality far beyond ordinary herbs.
Top-quality herbs. In moments, we’d harvested several times the required amount.
“GRRROOOAAAR!”
Just then, perhaps drawn by the intense life energy, a Forest Wolf burst from the undergrowth, a troublesome monster for F-rank adventurers.
“Filthy beast. Stay away from my lord.”
But before I could react, Brynhilde’s spear flashed. The wolf split cleanly in two without even a whimper, vanishing instantly.
Combat and gathering.
Offense and support.
Our party functioned perfectly.
Back at the guild, we presented our haul. The receptionist, the appraiser, even Gordon stood speechless at the bundle of premium herbs easily ten times the requested amount.
“Hey, Kai. What the hell did you do?” Gordon asked, dumbfounded.
I shrugged. “My companions just put in a little extra effort.”
In the end, our payment was substantially increased, including a special bonus. After just one request, the name “Kai’s Party” gained modest fame in the guild.
But our extraordinary results also drew envious glares from other adventurers. Achievements unbefitting F-ranks.
Grinning, Gordon proposed our next step, a promotion challenge to E-rank.
