Everyone Loves the Villainous Scumbag [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 7
Fu Chen walked toward him, a towel draped over his shoulders as he wiped away the water.
As he approached, Luo Jianghe took a small step back, though he could not quite explain why he did so. He stared at Fu Chen with his beautiful phoenix eyes, appearing completely unguarded and devoid of any hidden agenda. This look made Fu Chen’s heart feel a strange, inexplicable itch.
“Do I look good?” Fu Chen asked, his eyes fixed on Luo Jianghe’s.
“What?” Luo Jianghe looked at him, confused.
“My body.” A shallow, almost imperceptible smile played at the corners of Fu Chen’s mouth.
He is teasing me. That was Luo Jianghe’s first reaction. Was my gaze really that obvious? That was his second.
Shifting his eyes away, Luo Jianghe let out a light cough and said, “Your muscles are well-trained.”
Upon hearing this, Fu Chen tilted his head slightly, putting aside his desire to toy with him. “Where is the hair dryer?”
Luo Jianghe stared at the green plants in the hallway. After asking the system in his mind, he told Fu Chen where the hair dryer was kept. Seeing the embarrassment on Luo Jianghe’s face made Fu Chen feel strangely refreshed. He offered a quick word of thanks and prepared to dry his hair.
However, Luo Jianghe spoke again. “There are women in this house. You should wear clothes and, well, be a bit more mindful.”
While it was hard to say whether Fu Chen’s physique was a treat or a disturbance to the two women in the family, Luo Jianghe felt it was necessary to remind him. Usually, the Luo family wore bathrobes after showering, which made it convenient to move around. Since Fu Chen’s visit was sudden, Mother Luo had not prepared a new robe for him, so he had to make do with a bath towel.
“I did not expect your bathroom to be designed this way,” Fu Chen replied seriously, not arguing with Luo Jianghe’s point. “I will be careful. I will go back to the room first to dry my hair and change into pajamas before using the hair dryer.”
Luo Jianghe could clearly feel the softening of Fu Chen’s attitude. It felt strange to him; Fu Chen had been so cold before, but now he was seriously considering Luo Jianghe’s words. There was the distance of one person between them, but Luo Jianghe felt hypersensitive. He could almost feel the heat radiating from Fu Chen’s body after his shower.
He rubbed his nose unnaturally, his face flushing slightly. “Okay.”
As they spoke, a soft cry came from the hallway. Both turned to see Luo Xi standing there, her hands covering her face, though she was clearly peeking at Fu Chen through her fingers.
Luo Jianghe’s expression became one of speechlessness. This Luo Xi.
Seeing them look at her, she became even more embarrassed and ran back to her room with a red face.
After that awkward moment, Luo Jianghe returned to his room, and Fu Chen went to change. That night, while Luo Jianghe was playing on his phone, Luo Xi knocked on his door and rushed in to talk. It seemed the original host and his sister had a very close relationship, the type where they could share secrets without hesitation.
Luo Jianghe expected her to talk about typical girl problems: friendship dramas, a biased teacher, or a boy who teased her. He did not expect her to talk about Fu Chen, whom she had known for less than twenty-four hours. Moreover, as she spoke about him, she had the unmistakable blush of a young girl in love.
Thinking about the sweet future between the protagonist shou and the Second Gong in the original novel, Luo Jianghe clenched his fists. No! I must nip this crush in the bud and bury it deep!
“I do not know much about Fu Chen, but,” Luo Jianghe trailed off, watching Luo Xi’s expression closely.
“But what?” Luo Xi stared at him curiously. “Does he have a girlfriend?”
“No, not that.”
Luo Xi frowned, feeling like her brother was teasing her. “Oh, just tell me already!”
Satisfied with his sister’s reaction, Luo Jianghe gave a small smile. “There are some rumors about him at school. I heard he does not like girls.”
“What?” Luo Xi looked shocked.
Luo Jianghe met her gaze with an “if you know, you know” look and nodded. “He likes guys. He is gay!”
With that one sentence from Luo Jianghe, Luo Xi’s first-ever crush on a boy was instantly crushed. She felt like she could not quite process the information.
Luo Jianghe added a warning. “You absolutely must not like him!”
“Does he? Does he really like guys?” Luo Xi asked, her expression stiff.
Luo Jianghe nodded. “Ninety-nine point nine nine percent. I heard someone even saw him kissing a guy in the hallway.”
Luo Xi’s face turned a bit pale. Luo Jianghe mentally apologized. Sorry, sis. You are a side character who is barely mentioned in the novel. Competing with the protagonist for a man is a path to a tragic end. As her brother, he could not let her walk into a dead end. It was better to kill the crush early.
Ultimately, Luo Xi left the room with mixed emotions. Once back in her own room, she opened her computer and began searching for information on same-sex relationships. As she searched, she clicked from one term to another until she eventually clicked on a tag titled “Danmei.” Suddenly, she felt a cool breeze on her face. A door to a new world was slowly opening for her.
After Luo Xi left, Luo Jianghe checked his phone, exchanged “goodnight” with Yu Wuyang, and turned off the lights. Perhaps because he had eaten salty snacks with Luo Xi earlier, he woke up coughing and feeling thirsty. He initially tried to go back to sleep, but he could not.
Checking his phone, he saw it was just after one in the morning. Realizing he could not ignore his thirst, he rubbed his eyes and went downstairs in his thin pajamas to get some water. The house had central air conditioning, and four vents in the living room and kitchen were kept on low all night to prevent anyone from catching a cold, so he did not have to worry about the temperature.
In a daze, he reached the kitchen and took a bottle of mineral water from the fridge. Though he was thirsty, he only managed a few sips before stopping. Rubbing his eyes, he headed back upstairs with the bottle.
As he climbed the stairs, he noticed a tiny red glow in the dim yellow light of the hallway corner. The glow brightened and faded with someone’s breath. Judging by the tall silhouette, Luo Jianghe knew exactly who it was. Father Luo was not quite 180cm tall; the only person in the house of that height was Fu Chen.
Fu Chen must have heard the sound. He hid the cigarette behind his back and looked toward Luo Jianghe with an indifferent expression. Although he knew he had likely been seen, someone with a “genius” halo was often forgiven for things like underage smoking. This was not the first time he had been caught. Usually, if he hid the cigarette, people would pretend they had not seen anything. They assumed he smoked due to the pressure of his studies, especially in his third year of high school. No one, elder or peer, dared to tell him otherwise.
However, Fu Chen had initially started smoking out of curiosity. Later, he found it helped relieve stress and used it as a tool for relaxation. Study was not actually a major source of pressure for him. He smoked occasionally just to balance the taste in his mouth. He was not addicted; he smoked so rarely that he sometimes went months without lighting up.
After realizing the person was Luo Jianghe, he stopped hiding. He brought the cigarette out, took a puff in front of Luo Jianghe, and exhaled the smoke. In the glow of the night light, the youth’s face appeared even more hazy.
Luo Jianghe, for reasons he could not quite identify, walked toward Fu Chen. “Smoking at such a young age. Be careful, or your teeth will turn yellow and your breath will stink when you grow up.”
“At such a young age?” Fu Chen smiled at the old-fashioned lecture. Under the light and the haze of smoke, his beautiful eyes were bright, and the curve of his mouth was so perfect it seemed unreal.
Luo Jianghe stopped about half a meter away. Fu Chen, appearing dissatisfied with the distance, took a step forward. He leaned in close to Luo Jianghe, leaving less than an arm’s length between them. Curious about the sudden proximity, Luo Jianghe tilted his head up to ask what he wanted, only to find Fu Chen’s face extremely close to his own.
“What are you do,” before he could finish the last word, Luo Jianghe’s vision was filled with smoke. The pungent cloud swirled into his throat and lungs.
“Cough! Cough!” He could not help but cough, his eyes even tearing up. “What are you doing!” He was angry, but he kept his voice low to avoid waking the family.
Despite the provocation, Fu Chen’s face showed no sign of apology as he leaned in close to Luo Jianghe.
“Do you want to kiss me?” His voice was low and magnetic, a perfect match for the quiet night, the dim lights, and the ambiguous atmosphere.
“What?” Luo Jianghe’s phoenix eyes widened as he looked at Fu Chen seriously. “Are you out of your mind?” Was he dreaming? Otherwise, the person Fu Chen should want to kiss was Yu Wuyang.
Fu Chen did not answer. Instead, he let his lips brush lightly against Luo Jianghe’s cheek before leaning toward his ear. “I should be quite good at kissing. Do you want to try?”
The “Second Gong’s” voice was naturally alluring. It made Luo Jianghe’s ears itch and his heart skip a beat. However, Luo Jianghe remained calm. Fu Chen’s behavior made him feel more puzzled than charmed. The abnormal behavior made him wonder if he had somehow offended Fu Chen and was being played.
As they spoke, Fu Chen placed his hand on Luo Jianghe’s waist. This made Luo Jianghe tremble, and he reached out to push Fu Chen away.
“What is wrong with you!”
Fu Chen, his head lowered against Luo Jianghe’s shoulder, let out a laugh. “Is it not what you said? That I would kiss a guy in the hallway.”
