Even If You're My Senior, It's Still Forbidden - Chapter 35
Ji Weining was not a sword cultivator and had no interest in swords. Recalling the countless magical artifacts scattered throughout the Qingheng Cave a century ago, she mused, “There are quite a few swords in the Qingheng Cave.”
“Before you enter, I’ll help you take a look, Junior Sister.” It seemed the sect leader had a catalog of swords, though no one had specifically recorded their appearances. Finding the right one wouldn’t be easy, but she could likely narrow it down to a general direction.
“Alright, thank you, Senior Sister.” Su Jin’an leaned against Ji Weining, tilting her head up to meet her slightly lowered gaze. Straightening up, she curiously reached out and traced Ji Weining’s eyebrows with her thumb.
“Senior Sister is truly beautiful.”
Ji Weining caught Su Jin’an’s wandering hand. “Why has Junior Sister only noticed this now? I thought you were beautiful from the moment I first saw you.”
So beautiful, it was as if she had stepped right out of her heart.
Su Jin’an’s heart swelled with joy, a smile curling at the corners of her lips. She playfully stuck out her tongue and leaned toward Ji Weining.
Ji Weining, always quick to react, leaned back to avoid her but kept hold of her hand, guiding it behind her back.
“Senior Sister, don’t you like it?” Su Jin’an pouted, feigning hurt.
“Junior Sister, I might not be able to control myself.” Ji Weining shook her head, grasping both of Su Jin’an’s wrists with one hand. “Be good. After we obtain the Spirit Pearl, you can do whatever you want.”
Su Jin’an’s body was still too fragile. What if she couldn’t restrain herself and ended up hurting her? Earlier, when she touched her Golden Core, her spiritual power had already begun to run wild. If they continued like this, it would truly be fatal.
“Then just one kiss will do.” Tears still glistened in Su Jin’an’s eyes, making her look utterly pitiable.
Ji Weining remained silent for a long time, her heart tangled in conflict. “Alright.”
She could grant this small request from her junior sister. She could control herself, she had to.
Releasing Su Jin’an’s hands, Ji Weining wrapped her arms around her waist and drew her close. Their noses brushed, and the air grew thick with heat, filled with the scent of each other. Ji Weining parted her lips and gently met Su Jin’an’s tongue.
Soon, they were pressed tightly together. Ji Weining’s hands began to caress Su Jin’an’s back, teaching her how to breathe through the intensity.
In the end, Ji Weining couldn’t hold back. It was a while before she finally released Su Jin’an, who sat cross-legged on the bed and turned away the moment she was let go.
Ji Weining quickly lay down beside her, reaching out to cushion the back of her head as she sank into the soft bedding. Leaning closer, she whispered, “Tired?”
“Mm.” Su Jin’an covered her face with her hands.
Through the gaps between her fingers, Ji Weining could see her flushed cheeks.
“Do you like this?” Ji Weining lay down beside her, mirroring her position.
Su Jin’an stretched out her legs, parting her fingers just enough to reveal her eyes as she turned to look at Ji Weining. “I like it.”
“Did I hurt your hand?” Ji Weining noticed the red marks on Su Jin’an’s wrists, left by her slightly overgrown nails.
Su Jin’an lifted her hands to inspect the traces Ji Weining had left.
“It doesn’t hurt, but Senior Sister should trim her nails.” Su Jin’an buried her face in the soft quilt beside her.
“Ahem, you’re right, Junior Sister. I’ll go trim them now. Rest early tomorrow, I’ll teach you more techniques.” Ji Weining gently ruffled Su Jin’an’s loosened hair.
“Mm.”
Ji Weining stepped out, tidied up the doors and windows, and then opened the wardrobe to take out two sets of sleepwear.
Su Jin’an adjusted her emotions, sat up from the bed, and removed her shoes and socks. Remembering something, she took off all the hair accessories she was wearing and, barefoot, walked over to toss them onto the dressing table.
“Why aren’t you wearing shoes?”
Su Jin’an, noticing the cold sensation under her feet, scratched her head and said, “I forgot.”
The dressing table wasn’t far from the bed, so Su Jin’an took a few steps back to sit on the edge of the bed, swinging her feet as she waited for Ji Weining to cast a cleansing spell on her.
Ji Weining walked over with the clothes and, with a flick of her hand, completed the cleansing spell.
“Actually, the floor is quite clean from Senior Sister’s cleansing spell.”
“It’s not about cleanliness, it’s the cold,” Ji Weining replied as she sat down and unfolded the clothes. Su Jin’an quickly reached out to take them.
“I can do it myself.”
Ji Weining chuckled. “Now you’re too shy to let me change you?”
Having cleared the air, Su Jin’an felt even more embarrassed, realizing that she had previously treated her like a maid, which was why she hadn’t minded before.
“Senior Sister said she might not be able to control herself.”
She had truly brought this upon herself.
Ji Weining’s smile froze. Well, she had said it, it was her fault.
“Go ahead and change, Junior Sister.”
Respecting her decision, Ji Weining watched her with a sense of relief, though she couldn’t help feeling a twinge of jealousy toward the maids who had served Su Jin’an before. How could they!
Ji Weining took her own clothes and went behind the screen to change. By the time she finished, Su Jin’an had changed as well.
“Time to sleep.”
“Senior Sister, you haven’t told me your secret yet.”
Ji Weining recalled what she had said earlier.
“I’ve known for a while that you’re surnamed Su, but I wasn’t entirely sure if you were from the Su family.” Whether she was part of the Su family or not, the Su family was rather low-key outside. Unless provoked, they rarely involved themselves in external affairs.
She had only heard rumors about the Su family’s eldest daughter, whose name seemed to be Su Jin-something.
But she hadn’t paid much attention to it.
“Hmm, was it the Oracle that told you?”
“Yes, you’re correct, Junior Sister.” Ji Weining wrapped her arms around Su Jin’an’s waist again.
“Alright, let’s sleep now.”
Outside, the sky was pitch black.
Su Jin’an pulled the covers over herself and also wrapped an arm around Ji Weining’s waist.
Ji Weining buried her face against her and gradually drifted into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Su Jin’an woke up very early.
“Why are you up so early, Junior Sister?” Ji Weining, feeling the movement in her arms, opened her eyes. The surroundings were still dim, and the sky had not yet brightened.
Su Jin’an sat beside her, turning slightly to answer, “It’s time to study formations seriously.”
In the end, her own abilities were not strong enough, which was why she had to trouble her senior sister so much. She had told her before, what she wanted was to stand by her side, not behind her.
Starting today, she would cultivate diligently.
“Alright, is there anything you’d like to eat?” Ji Weining also sat up. If her junior sister was going to work hard, she would naturally do what she could to help.
Su Jin’an shook her head, hesitating before saying, “Actually, I, I’ve never been able to taste the flavor of food.”
“Has it been like this since you were a child?” Ji Weining’s previously drowsy eyes widened in surprise. After a long pause, she finally managed to ask.
Su Jin’an nodded.
All this time, she hadn’t realized that her junior sister couldn’t taste anything at all. No wonder she never picked or chose her food, it was because of this. A feeling like ants crawling crept into her heart. She and Mu Chanjuan had truly learned fake medical skills they hadn’t even noticed something like this.
“I’m practicing inedia now, so there’s nothing I particularly want to eat,” Su Jin’an murmured softly.
Ji Weining took a deep breath and asked her, “Have you ever wondered why you can’t taste anything?”
“I don’t know either. I’ve been like this since I was a child, so I’m used to it by now.” Su Jin’an had long since come to terms with it and didn’t mind much, though occasionally, when she saw others enjoying their food, she wished she could know what that kind of flavor felt like.
Sometimes, because of her lack of taste, she couldn’t tell if the food had gone bad and had to rely on her sense of smell and touch to identify any issues.
“Alright, then focus on your studies, junior sister,” Ji Weining said calmly.
No matter how many times she had examined Su Jin’an’s body, she had never found anything wrong. Truly, this was the most perplexing medical case she had encountered in all her years of practice.
“What kind of array did Xu Huan ask you to set up?” Su Jin’an tugged at the corner of her sleeve and asked.
Ji Weining had no intention of hiding it and took out the blueprint Xu Huan had given her the day before. “This one.”
“The Demon Purification Array?” The characters on it were somewhat ancient, but Su Jin’an managed to make out the largest ones. She asked worriedly, “Is it dangerous?”
Ji Weining gently stroked her head. “How could it be dangerous for your senior sister?”
“The biggest challenge your senior sister has ever faced is you, junior sister.” For so long, she had only known that Su Jin’an’s health was poor, but she couldn’t pinpoint exactly where the problem lay. To her, Su Jin’an was like a misty enigma, reminiscent of a delicate beauty from the rainy Jiangnan region.
Come to think of it, Su Jin’an could indeed be considered a Jiangnan beauty.
“Don’t worry about me,” Ji Weining said. These dangers were trivial to her, though they might pose a threat to others.
“Alright, I won’t worry.” Su Jin’an couldn’t understand the Demon Purification Array, but since her senior sister said so, it must not be dangerous.
“Take these candies.” Ji Weining rummaged through her Qiankun pouch and pulled out the remaining osmanthus candies she had. She then began to describe the flavor to Su Jin’an. “They’re very sweet, just like.”
Ji Weining leaned in and kissed Su Jin’an’s forehead, a brief touch before pulling away.
“That kind of sweetness,” Ji Weining said with a smile.
“Mmm, very sweet.” Su Jin’an laughed softly. It seemed no one had ever described to her what colors these flavors might evoke. She had even kept this secret well hidden, undetected by anyone.
But now her senior sister knew. She was truly wonderful.
“It really is sweet,” Su Jin’an said as she unwrapped one of the candies and put it in her mouth. Though she couldn’t taste it, she could still feel the sweetness Ji Weining had described.
[Affection Progress: 55%.]
At that moment, as Su Jin’an smiled, the divine oracle made its announcement.
“Next time, I’ll bring you more varieties of candy,” Ji Weining said. She had tasted many kinds of candy and wanted Su Jin’an to try them all. She was sure Su Jin’an would like them.
“Okay, I’d like that very much.”
Su Jin’an leaned in and kissed Ji Weining on the cheek in return.
Ji Weining pulled her into an embrace.
What would happen when the affection progress reached 100%? Once again, the question of what would happen after the “conquest” was complete surfaced.
She hoped the divine oracle, she hoped the heavens, would look favorably upon them.
In the unseen future, she wanted to draw closer to her now, to be even closer.
Taking advantage of the early morning, Ji Weining began drawing the Demon Purification Array that Xu Huan needed. She opened the Qiankun pouch Xu Huan had given her, which contained the banners and brushes required for the task. The items inside had already been specially treated.
There were twelve banners in total.
She needed to draw twelve arrays.
The Demon Purification Array had one more particular requirement: timing.
The break of dawn was the perfect moment.
In the distance, the red sun gradually glowed with crimson light as it peeked over the horizon.
Ji Weining stepped into the courtyard and unfurled the first banner. She picked up a brush that had long lain dormant in her Qiankun bag. Glancing to the side, she saw Su Jin’an holding a book, also tracing the patterns of a formation with his fingers.
It was time for her to begin. Gathering the spiritual energy within her, she channeled it into her palm and infused it into the brush. No ink was needed, the spiritual energy itself transformed into ink as it flowed.
She faintly recalled that this brush was likely the Demon-Quelling Brush. With a stroke of the brush, ink would flow, and demons would be subdued hence its name, the Demon-Quelling Brush.
It should have belonged to an immortal, so why was it here?
Ji Weining had no time to ponder further. She needed to finish the drawing first.
The banner stood upright before her, red-bordered with a white background and adorned with black streamers. Ji Weining lowered the ink-infused brush onto it.
