While Yu Ling was comfortably and complacently enjoying Wen Ting’s service, Ji Yiyang, who had doubled back, turned absolutely green with vexation.
He felt that he must have completely lost his mind.
Why else would he recall Yu Ling’s tendency to get seasick halfway through his walk and even go through the trouble of tracking down motion sickness medication for him?
Ji Yiyang glared savagely at the two of them.
They were sitting so close together that, from his angle, it looked as though Yu Ling was practically snuggling into Wen Ting’s embrace.
The moment he recalled how coldly and willfully Yu Ling had treated him earlier, Ji Yiyang squeezed his hand and crushed the medication packaging right then and there.
Hearing the commotion, Wen Ting turned his head around and caught the dark look that Ji Yiyang had not managed to hide in time.
“What are you doing, and why did you suddenly stop?” Yu Ling pushed Wen Ting with deep dissatisfaction. “My leg still hurts quite a bit, so keep massaging it for me.”
He failed to notice the disturbance behind him, assuming instead that Wen Ting was simply trying to slack off.
To be allowed to massage the legs of a future grand villain was an absolute blessing for Wen Ting, so how could he be so ungrateful?
“You are not allowed to be lazy; otherwise I will…”
Wen Ting smoothly caught his words and replied, “Otherwise, you will expose the fact that I just seduced you.” As he spoke, Wen Ting suddenly took the initiative to lean a bit closer to Yu Ling.
A cool, light breath wafted over with his movement, making Yu Ling feel somewhat self-conscious because of the sudden proximity.
I understand your threat, so please do not spread it around, because you would definitely ruin my image if you did.
Wen Ting uttered those words of supplication with absolute ease, which left Yu Ling feeling rather dizzy from the flattery.
Consequently, the youth adopted an even more arrogant and spoiled expression, his eyebrows curving slightly with pure triumph. “It is good that you understand. I am quite sleepy, so I am going to nap for a while. You are not permitted to speak or make any noise, because if you wake me up, you are completely dead.”
To fall asleep with absolutely zero defenses like that, the boy was truly a total fool.
Ji Yiyang walked past them in a seemingly casual manner, offering a mocking comment. “The two of you certainly seem to be on excellent terms.”
Wen Ting’s tone remained mild and gentle, acting as though he could not detect the sharp hostility in Ji Yiyang’s words. “He is seasick and feels rather unwell.”
“You had better watch out that he doesn’t sell you out later, because he has definitely done that sort of thing before.”
“Thank you for the warning,” Wen Ting lowered his voice, acting as if he were afraid of disturbing Yu Ling’s slumber. “Is there anything else?”
Ji Yiyang could not explain the strange sensation, but seeing Yu Ling’s tilted head resting against Wen Ting’s shoulder in a deep sleep caused an inexplicable emotion to brew within his chest.
It made him feel as though he were the one rudely interrupting them, so without another word, Ji Yiyang left this irritating spot once more.
Yu Ling slept peacefully all the way until the cruise ship arrived at the deserted island.
His manager had brought an entire suitcase of luggage for him, which Wen Ting was naturally meant to carry under his orders.
When Xi Jin saw Yu Ling disembark completely empty-handed and then noticed Wen Ting laboriously hauling two heavy suitcases, he found Yu Ling incredibly disagreeable and wanted to taunt him with a few harsh words.
Yet when he saw Yu Ling yawning in a dazed state, looking so unsteady that he might tumble over at any moment, the taunts automatically transformed into a scolding. “What is wrong with you? Can you manage or not? Do not drag the rest of us down when we start filming later, because we are absolutely not going to go out of our way to take care of you.”
Yu Ling cast a bewildered glance at him. “Who wants you to take care of me?”
He had already acquired a brand-new servant, and Wen Ting spoke in a manner that was far more pleasant to the ear than Xi Jin’s.
“You!”
Xi Jin had not expected Yu Ling to show him such little respect, causing his expression to turn rather unsightly.
Yu Ling even showed open distaste for him blocking the path. “Move aside, please, you are in the way.”
He then called out to Wen Ting up ahead, indicating that his legs felt very sore and he could not walk quickly, so Wen Ting needed to slow down and wait for him.
As they brushed past each other, Xi Jin caught sight of Yu Ling’s rather peculiar appearance. “What happened to your leg?”
Only then did Yu Ling realize that his pant leg was still rolled up. His calf was exceptionally slender and pale, looking somewhat fragile when compared to the protagonists of the world line.
It was not cool at all, and it completely failed to match the image of a world-destroying grand villain.
Yu Ling felt a bit embarrassed, so he hurriedly pulled the trouser leg down.
Xi Jin, however, suddenly crouched down and performed an action that caught everyone by surprise.
He grasped Yu Ling’s remarkably slender ankle and rolled the fabric all the way up. “What is the meaning of this?” Xi Jin’s voice suddenly turned cold.
“What do you mean, ‘What is the meaning of this?’ What are you doing? Let go of me this instant.”
Being grabbed so suddenly by Xi Jin caused Yu Ling to panic.
【Yu Ling: System! What is he doing? This is absolute disrespect toward a future villain!】
Yu Ling was practically turning frantic with rage.
Even after Yu Ling told him to let go, Xi Jin completely ignored him and audaciously traced his hand up and down along the youth’s calf.
The pressure of the fabric brushing over his skin brought waves of a tingling, aching sensation.
As a former villain system, he had never experienced the sensation of human skin being caressed or touched, causing Yu Ling to shudder as his calf turned so weak that he nearly collapsed.
“I told you to let go, did you not hear me?” Yu Ling’s voice carried a hint of a sob.
Xi Jin felt incredibly astonished. Was the boy actually going to cry over this? A fellow who was usually so willful was actually producing such a pitiful, weeping tone just because his leg was squeezed a couple of times.
It was difficult to describe the exact sensation, but Xi Jin simply felt his throat grow somewhat dry.
“Where did the marks on your leg come from?”
Yu Ling’s eyes were brimming with tears, yet the sheer venom in his glare was not lacking in the slightest. “What does that have to do with you? Take your filthy hand away.”
Unable to break free, Yu Ling instinctively wanted to kick him.
Xi Jin froze as a bizarre, intoxicating fragrance suddenly washed over him. What on earth was going on? How could he possibly smell that scent again?
Xi Jin could hardly believe that he would find the odor on Yu Ling’s body so fragrant, to the point where it was actually making his head spin a little.
Taking advantage of his sudden distraction, Yu Ling finally managed to yank his calf out of the other man’s grasp.
Disregarding the fact that his leg still felt quite stiff and numb, he immediately hurried away from Xi Jin.
What a absolute lunatic! Yu Ling and the system cursed together in their minds.
【System: Do not be angry, Host, this is actually proof that the protagonist is establishing a good relationship with you, which is the only way we can become a Holy Father.】
Yu Ling wanted absolutely nothing to do with that.
He jogged over to Wen Ting’s side, lifting his head to question him with deep dissatisfaction. “Why did you not come over to help me just now?”
Wen Ting looked down at him, observing Yu Ling’s flushed, angry face and his watery eyes, and for some inexplicable reason, a surge of irritation rose within his chest.
He even felt a strong urge to reach out and press hard against the corners of Yu Ling’s eyes, simply to see him make an even more pitiful expression.
“I am sorry.”
Despite offering an apology, Wen Ting’s face remained entirely detached. “The suitcase was a bit heavy, so I did not manage to make it over in time.”
【System: Please stop aggravating him, look at how pitiful he is!】
Yu Ling surveyed the surrounding scenery and pondered for a moment. Right now, Wen Ting was the only one who was relatively easy to bully, and if he ended up offending everyone, it would make life on this wretched island rather inconvenient.
“Then you had better pay closer attention next time.”
Xi Jin was utterly infuriated by the fact that Yu Ling had ignored him multiple times. He marched over and snapped angrily, “Do you truly consider yourself a young master? The purpose of this variety show is for us to spend seven days on a deserted island without any external assistance. By relying on others like this, you are openly violating the original intent of the production crew.”
Yu Ling felt extremely impatient. “I did not even ask for your help, so why are you being so fierce?”
Xi Jin blanked for a moment, and as he stared at Yu Ling’s constantly trembling eyelashes, he instinctively began to question his own behavior. Was his voice too loud just now? Did he actually frighten Yu Ling? Then again, this fellow had truly been incredibly willful since childhood, making him remarkably easy to startle.
“I…” But to ask him to lower his posture was something Xi Jin could not achieve, even if his face turned blue from the effort.
Ding-dong.
Everyone’s phone vibrated simultaneously.
They had received a collective message from the directorial crew.
【Director: I am sorry, but we told a small lie earlier. Because we received an immense amount of feedback from fans who want to see a deserted island survival show with absolutely no outside intervention, the production crew has decided to cancel the live camera crew to ensure the absolute authenticity of the program. However, we have already installed an ample number of hidden stationary cameras and supportive drone equipment on the island beforehand, so your life on the island will be displayed via a live broadcast format.】
【Director: Good luck, everyone.】
【Director: By the way, today is the first day and there are no special missions, so you can use your phones to do a quick live stream of the room assignments to generate some early excitement for the show.】
Yu Ling felt absolutely nothing about this change. Without anyone around to restrain him, he could act like a wicked villain to his heart’s content.
Because of this sudden interlude, Xi Jin’s previous remarks were cut short, prompting Wen Ting to ask him, “What were you about to say just now?”
Xi Jin replied, “It is nothing.” He let out a snort. “Go call Ji Yiyang and Mu Nian over so we can discuss the room assignments.”
Yu Ling was the first to speak up. “I want to live by myself.”
He had absolutely no intention of cramming into a space with this crowd.
The others harbored the exact same thought.
The problem, however, was that this deserted island only featured a few low-rise structures. One building had a rusted door lock, another had windows that let the wind leak through, and only the third building was reasonably fit for habitation.
Yu Ling spoke first to claim it. “I am going to stay in the third building. The remaining two can be split among yourselves.”
The other four men turned their heads in unison to look at him.
What was the meaning of this? Why were they staring at him like that?
Every single one of them wore an intense, heavy expression, resembling a collection of predatory beasts.
