Dr. Chi’s Mission: Seduce Officer Su - Chapter 34.1
After the meeting concluded, Zheng Chongsen saw off the visiting guests and then kept Su Qiao and Ji Nanxing behind.
Ji Nanxing had no major objections to being reassigned to a secondary command position. At the moment, all she wanted was to hurry home and sleep. Her disrupted sleep schedule had left her yawning repeatedly.
Su Qiao accepted all the leadership’s arrangements and understood clearly that the true purpose behind her two-year departure from the criminal investigation team was unveiled during tonight’s meeting.
Zheng Chongsen returned to his office and observed the two, each lost in their own thoughts.
“You two can voice your opinions. I’ll propose adjustments to the task force accordingly.” He settled into his swivel chair, took a small sip of tea, and said, “Nanxing, you go first.”
“Me? I think it’s fine. Just looking at Captain Jiang, you can tell she’s no pushover. I have no objections.” Ji Nanxing wrapped up her response hastily and let out another yawn.
Zheng Chongsen clasped his hands and casually chatted about unrelated topics for a moment: “Jiang Cha has extensive undercover experience. She was transferred to Yuzhou years ago to participate in the operation to dismantle the drug trafficking ring in Beidian Ge Village. That place was a hundred times more dangerous than any arms organization. The fact that she emerged unscathed speaks to her capabilities. I have high hopes for her.”
As he spoke, he shifted his focus more toward Su Qiao. “What about you, Xiao Su?”
Many in the Criminal Investigation Center believed that Chief Zheng did not favor this deputy team leader. In reality, he had been honing this sharp blade over the past two years.
Now, it was time for it to be unsheathed.
“I don’t have any major objections either. I just need comprehensive information on the arms organization and the case analysis up to this point. Once I’m fully briefed, I’ll be ready to await further instructions from the higher-ups.”
Zheng Chongsen nodded understandingly and looked at her intently. “Have you prepared yourself these past two years?”
This question seemed more directed at the Su Qiao of two years ago, like the bullet that had pierced Ao Miao’s abdomen now striking her between the eyes.
She let out a heavy sigh, her nostrils flaring slightly. She lowered her head, nodding faintly, then shook it helplessly.
Su Qiao still remembered clearly: after the criminal investigation team held an internal farewell ceremony for Ao Miao, she was urgently summoned to Chief Zheng’s office.
On the desk lay a transfer document, with only Zheng Chongsen and Chief Wang present.
Transfer approvals usually took time, so such a sudden move had to have a reason.
Su Qiao didn’t ask why. As she silently signed the document, Zheng Chongsen offered an absurd yet reasonable explanation: “You are being transferred to the Traffic Police Headquarters due to a major dereliction of duty during the investigation. Without a recall order from the higher-ups, you will remain nothing but a traffic police officer.”
Before Chief Wang took her away, Chief Zheng whispered behind her, “Go into hiding for two years. Give Nanxing some time, and give yourself some time as well.”
Su Qiao knew this was a confidential mission. She also understood that, until the arms case was resolved, she would have to bear the stigma of causing a teammate’s death and endure the criticism from others.
In truth, Ao Miao’s death was largely her fault to begin with, and she had no way to escape that.
“Before the task force begins operations, you must not neglect your current duties. With the New Year approaching, finding ways to reduce the crime rate is also an important task.” Zheng Chongsen waved his hand. “It’s getting late. You two should head back and rest.”
Ji Nanxing: “Understood.”
Su Qiao: “Thank you for your hard work, Chief Zheng.”
The two women crossed the open-air parking lot of the Criminal Investigation Center, tacitly avoiding any mention of the past. They wouldn’t discuss confidential work in other settings either.
While waiting by the roadside to hail a cab, Ji Nanxing hunched her shoulders and made small talk: “I didn’t drive today, otherwise I’d give you a ride home.”
“Even if you had, I wouldn’t let you make a trip this late.” Su Qiao stomped her cold feet, then softened her movements, mindful of the expensive slippers she wore.
“You…” Ji Nanxing followed her gaze to the pricey slippers and asked hesitantly, “Are you in a relationship?”
“I get it when others gossip, but since when did you become so nosy?!” Su Qiao bristled like a cat whenever her love life was brought up.
Ji Nanxing spread her hands and shrugged, teasing her with professional interrogation tactics: “Do you realize your reaction is exactly like a thief who stole a battery? Just asking whether you stole it is enough to expose you.”
“Look who’s talking! Have you sorted out your own mess? You and Miss Gu are constantly at each other’s throats, don’t you ever get tired of it?” Su Qiao patted her shoulder boldly, returning tit for tat.
Cornered by these pointed questions, Ji Nanxing ducked into a taxi that had just pulled over and made a quick escape.
“Tch, pot calling the kettle black. Who isn’t a certified ostrich hiding from reality?” Su Qiao watched the car disappear in a cloud of exhaust, complaining about Ji Nanxing while not sparing herself either.
…
Once Chi Jue entered her home, she immediately retreated to the bathroom.
The damp stickiness made her unbearably uncomfortable, and she had sped home frantically, flooring the accelerator the whole way.
She tried to soothe the lingering fire inside her by soaking in the bath.
In the spacious bathroom, only the sound of dripping water could be heard.
Exhausted, she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes for a brief rest, but her mind was filled with images of Su Qiao, blindfolded with a tie and striking alluring poses, teasing every nerve beneath her skin until they tingled restlessly.
A soft, helpless sigh escaped through her teeth, unable to dispel the burning desire that refused to fade.
She had no idea how much time had passed. The water in the tub gradually cooled, but it still couldn’t restore even a shred of her rationality.
She drained half the water and refilled the tub with scalding hot water. Just as she was about to doze off, her phone vibrated.
Afraid of missing Su Qiao’s call, she hurriedly stood up and grabbed her phone.
When the person you’re thinking of appears at the right moment, slips into your dreams, or suddenly calls, these are life’s little joys.
At this moment, Su Qiao’s name flashing on the screen was one such delight.
Chi Jue cupped water with one hand, her voice brimming with laughter: “Are you home yet?”
“Just reached the alley. I was hesitating whether I’d disturb your sleep, but I didn’t expect you to pick up so quickly.”
“That just means your desire to hear my voice outweighed your fear of bothering me, so you couldn’t resist calling.” Chi Jue lowered her gaze to her reflection in the water, inwardly sighing at how little restraint she had once she fell head over heels in love!
“Why aren’t you asleep yet? It’s really late.”
“Because I was thinking about my little bear too. I got so lost in thought that I couldn’t sleep.” Chi Jue lifted her arm, staring at her water-beaded fingertips as the smoldering fire inside her began to stir once more.
“I just called to let you know I’m safe. Hang up now and get some sleep.”
“Don’t hang up, I want to hear your voice.” Chi Jue slipped her hand beneath the water, slowly gliding toward the moist thicket.
If she didn’t dissipate the fire Su Qiao had ignited, she feared she wouldn’t get a good night’s sleep.
She felt that she had become irredeemably depraved, yet she yearned for that unique thrill, so much so that a pleading tone seeped into her voice. “Say something sweet to tease me, okay? I’ll imagine you holding me, whispering in my ear… Little Bear… I miss you…”
Su Qiao sensed something was off. Even when Dr. Chi acted coy, her tone was never like this, her breathing sounded uneven, layered with the rippling sound of water.
“You…” She swallowed, seemingly guessing what kind of scene was unfolding on the other end of the line.
She was deeply frustrated, frustrated that she couldn’t participate, and could only tug harshly at her tie to loosen it.
Why was it so hot? That stifling, uncomfortable heat made her want to strip off all her clothes and hide under the covers. “I… I want you…”
Chi Jue received a line worth savoring and pressed her fingertips a little harder, whispering in a husky voice, “How do you want me?”
“I want to bite your ear… I want…” Su Qiao raised her hand to cover her lips, her warm breath hitting the receiver, creating the illusion that she was right beside Chi Jue.
Chi Jue bit her lower lip, suppressing her breathing. Her heart felt hollow, so she teased both her own core and Little Bear: “Just biting my ear isn’t enough… What else do you want to do?”
“I want to kiss your back, then follow your spine all the way up to the nape of your neck, and bite your shoulder, leaving my mark…” Su Qiao fantasized about that intense, passionate scene, even wanting to turn around, hail a cab, and rush to Chi Jue to satisfy her unfulfilled self-indulgence.
Chi Jue hadn’t expected Su Qiao to play along so well. She could even hear the sound of a tongue moving against the receiver, was that girl actually licking it?
She chuckled softly, leaning back in the bathtub, guiding the conversation step by step. “Do you know what game we’re playing?”
“Sweet talk play isn’t illegal. At most, it’s just a niche adult game.” Su Qiao laughed and kissed her phone. “I’m not as innocent as you think. I’m an adult, you know?”
Chi Jue didn’t want to lose control too quickly, so she slowed her pace and chatted idly. “So you’re not a 3-year-old Little Bear anymore?”
“Right now, I’m 30-year-old Su Qiao, pleasing her Dr. Chi.” Su Qiao hurried up the stairs, her breathless panting fitting the mood perfectly. “Mmm… keep going… okay?”
“You’re panting even harder than I am, but I love hearing it~”
“What does my panting make you think of?” Su Qiao wove the fantasy they were building together. She couldn’t imagine how the usually serious and aloof Chi Jue would use words to tear down that facade.
“I think… of you carrying me to the dining table… like eating a piece of cream cake… and then devouring me… I also think of you locking me in a cabinet, us squeezed against a little rabbit-shaped toy…” Chi Jue’s voice grew increasingly erratic, broken and breathy, until only soft, shallow pants remained.
In her fantasy, Su Qiao had fiercely unraveled her.
Su Qiao covered her phone and whispered a request, “Tomorrow night, let’s meet, okay? I’ll buy a cream cake~”
…
The next morning.
Chi Jue woke up earlier than usual. She couldn’t recall how she had fallen asleep last night, only remembering that she had been on the phone with Su Qiao, chatting until she drifted off into dreams.
The sleep was exceptionally peaceful and sound, so much so that she didn’t linger in bed upon waking. Her mind cleared up almost instantly.
But as she recalled the absurd conversation in the bathroom, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She didn’t dare dwell on it, nor did she dare imagine how she would face Su Qiao when they met that evening.
She stirred the reheated Laba porridge with a spoon, resting her forehead in her hand, but couldn’t quite savor the taste.
The aloof persona she had carefully built had completely crumbled the night before.
