Don't You like Little Dogs? Now that I'm Taking Liberties, You're Suddenly Reluctant? - Chapter 56
The Golden Den Casino was the most extensive gambling operation under the Skeleton banner in the western district of Xincheng. At this hour, the nocturnal clamor was reaching its peak. Beneath dazzling neon signs, the heavy atmosphere of money and desire felt almost tangible.
Jiang Si and Pei Ye entered through a private passage, walking straight toward the deepest office as if they were returning to their own home.
“It is, it is intruders!”
Two burly bodyguards at the door moved to block them. Pei Ye’s figure shifted, moving so fast he left only a blur of afterimages. His palm struck precisely against the side of the first man’s neck.
Thump. The two fell limp to the floor without managing to let out a single sound. Jiang Si did not even spare them a glance as he pushed the door open.
Inside the luxuriously decorated office, the casino owner’s bloated body was buried deep in a wide leather executive chair. Upon seeing Jiang Si’s face, his complexion turned deathly pale.
“Fourth, Fourth Master.” The owner stood up so abruptly he nearly tipped his chair over. Sweat rolled down his forehead as his voice trembled. He had clearly not expected his visitor to be Jiang Si.
“It seems you have been living well,” Jiang Si remarked flatly, his tone devoid of emotion.
He walked straight to the massive floor-to-ceiling window. The curtains were half-drawn, offering a clear view of the bustling casino floor below. The crisp clinking of chips and the faint cheers and curses of gamblers were audible.
Pathetic.
He tilted his head slightly toward Pei Ye.
Pei Ye understood instantly. He stepped forward and pressed a cold gun barrel directly against the owner’s greasy forehead. “The ledgers. And the stolen shares.” His voice was cold and steady, as if he were speaking to a dead man.
Simultaneously, the lights in the main casino hall abruptly cut out.
“Ah! What happened?”
“Is the power out?”
“Wait! What is that? Something is coming!”
The vast space plunged into darkness, and the crowd erupted into a panicked commotion. Seconds later, a few dim emergency lights flickered on, barely outlining the chaos as panic spread like a plague.
“Clear the floor. Unrelated personnel, use the left exit. I will not say it a second time,” a calm, almost eerily steady female voice announced over the public broadcast system.
It was Ghost from the First Division.
The casino’s hired thugs finally reacted. Some tried to rush toward the circuit breakers to restore light, while others drew handguns to control the situation. It was already too late.
“Hey, do not be in such a hurry! The game has just begun!”
A manic laugh tore through the tense air. Feng Jun flashed from behind a support pillar like a specter, his short blade carving a sharp, cold light through the air as he instantly dropped the two thugs in the front.
“So weak.” After taking them down, Feng Jun kicked the bodies on the ground as if he were unsatisfied. “Tsk, tsk. This is not entertaining at all.”
Boom! Crash!
A loud explosion sent parts flying from a row of slot machines. A flash of fire illuminated the smoke.
“Road closed. I am here; did you think you were passing through?” Viper’s voice drifted from behind the smoke, laced with mockery.
“Hahaha! Do not be too dramatic, or the logistics department will give our division a bad review again!” Feng Jun laughed as he charged into the center of the hall, his voice brimming with delight.
Blood Butcher joined the fray unnoticed. He acted like a literal wall of meat, blocking the main passage to the VIP area. “Cleaning up trash.” Any thug who tried to charge or flee was as flimsy as paper before him.
He fought using the most primitive and brutal methods. Blood Butcher simply grabbed the arms or necks of his opponents, twisting and throwing them. Accompanied by the sound of bone-cracking, he piled the men in the corner like discarded sacks of grain. His efficiency was terrifying.
Cang Jun stood in the shadows on the second floor, his sniper scope calmly scanning the scene to ensure no one escaped. At the same time, he issued concise orders through a micro-communicator. “Ghost, three o’clock, two armed. Feng Jun, rein it in. Do not make it too messy; it is difficult to clean.”
The five members of the First Division coordinated seamlessly. Their actions were violent yet efficient, quickly and thoroughly stripping the casino of all resisting forces. The chaos was strictly controlled within specific zones. Unrelated gamblers scrambled toward the designated exits, and few could even discern the true faces of those responsible for the carnage.
Inside the VIP room, under the cold barrel of Pei Ye’s gun and his unrelenting gaze, the casino owner broke down in tears. He incoherently confessed to falsifying ledgers, embezzling organizational funds, and even secretly colluding with a rival gang.
Jiang Si stood with his back turned, quietly watching the scene below as it was brought under control. Once the owner finished speaking, he waved a hand to signal the end. “Enough.”
Pei Ye did not hesitate. He pulled the trigger.
Thump. A muffled gunshot was absorbed by the high-quality soundproofing of the room, followed only by the sound of a heavy body hitting the floor. The trash had been cleared.
Jiang Si turned and walked out without expression. As he passed Pei Ye, his footsteps paused for an imperceptible second. He raised his hand slightly, using his thumb to gently wipe away a tiny speck of dark red blood that had splattered onto Pei Ye’s cheek.
“Master.”
“Mhm.”
Jiang Si’s movement was as natural as brushing away a speck of dust. Pei Ye froze in place, feeling the lingering warmth from that brief touch. His heart felt as though it had been squeezed tightly and then suddenly released.
Master is touching me. I love it.
Pei Ye instinctively leaned into Jiang Si’s palm like a puppy seeking affection, cherishing the warm, soft contact.
“Time to go home.” Jiang Si said. A dark glint flashed briefly in his eyes as he affectionately stroked the other man’s cheek before slowly withdrawing his hand.
“Okay,” Pei Ye replied with a nod, his earlobes turning a shade of red. He followed closely behind Jiang Si as they walked out.
The chaos inside the casino had ended. Members of the First Division began the cleanup work while the logistics team arrived. Cang Jun stepped out from the shadows, leaning against the second-floor railing as he surveyed the floor. He slowly removed his communicator and spoke calmly. “This is A1 Cang Jun. The Golden Den clearing mission is successfully completed.”
On the drive back, the night was deep. The brilliant city lights passed through the car window, casting flowing shadows across Jiang Si’s sharp profile. He had his eyes closed, appearing to be taking a short nap. Pei Ye focused on driving, occasionally stealing a quick glance at Jiang Si in the passenger seat.
Master’s profile is so beautiful. I love him so much.
