Don't Bait Me Anymore! - Chapter 4
Later, Gu Zhiyi couldn’t even remember how Sheng Yan had persuaded him that night.
It was as if all his senses had been focused solely on the skin where Sheng Yan’s pale fingers had lingered.
All his memories seemed to freeze at that moment, even the temperature of Sheng Yan’s fingertips remained crystal clear in his mind.
Indeed, noticeably cooler than his own body temperature, and still damp from having just touched water, carrying a cool, moist chill.
The sensation was similar to when he’d been touched before, but this time Gu Zhiyi felt no annoyance. Instead, though the hand was cold, wherever its fingertips passed, the skin inexplicably burned as if set ablaze.
His memory abruptly halted there. When it resumed, he found himself already in the hotel room.
The intervening period was like a sudden blackout from drinking, completely blank. Yet Gu Zhiyi knew very well that it wasn’t the alcohol that had truly made him so dazed.
“I’m going to take a shower first,” Sheng Yan suddenly said, snapping Gu Zhiyi back to attention. “Wait for me here, or…”
He paused slightly, then, seeing Gu Zhiyi glance up, he smiled and asked softly, “Or do you want to join me?”
Gu Zhiyi reflexively shook his head. “No… You go first.”
As expected, Sheng Yan’s smile widened slightly. He didn’t insist, simply agreed with a “Alright” and turned to enter the bathroom.
As Sheng Yan peeled off his soaked shirt, he couldn’t help but recall the boy’s reaction in the nightclub bathroom when he had teasingly said, “I’ll teach you”
His muscles had visibly tensed, like a bowstring pulled taut, radiating a primal, beast-like aggression.
Yet, the tips of his ears had turned crimson without him realizing, his eyes remaining clear, as if his instinctive desires had been perfectly balanced by a touch of innocent confusion.
The contrast delighted Sheng Yan.
After savoring the memory for a moment, Sheng Yan finally stripped completely and stepped under the shower.
Someone was waiting outside; this was hardly the time for a leisurely bath.
As the water began to stream, Gu Zhiyi instinctively lifted his head—
The suite completely separated the bathroom from the living room, so even sitting on the sofa, Gu Zhiyi couldn’t see anything.
Yet perhaps precisely because of this separation, this state of not seeing but hearing only made the mind wander…
That person’s neck and fingers were so fair, would their body be even fairer? Like exquisite white porcelain?
Their shoulders and back seemed so slender, would their shoulder blades stand out prominently?
Oh, and that narrow waist… it looked like it would fit in one hand. I wonder if they have dimples?
A sudden vibration jolted Gu Zhiyi back to his senses.
He instinctively reached for his phone, but froze as his fingers brushed against its edge. Only then did he realize what he had just been thinking.
Gu Zhiyi’s lips tightened.
Before this, he had been certain he had never harbored such… such shameful thoughts about anyone, regardless of gender.
It was as if he had been bewitched.
The phone vibrated again, prompting Gu Zhiyi to unlock it and check the message.
The moment he saw the screen, the slender fingers holding his phone tightened abruptly.
It was from his roommate:
Brother Yi, I’m back at the dorm. Just wondering, are you coming back tonight?
Gu Zhiyi didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he subconsciously glanced toward the bathroom.
The sound of running water had just stopped, but no one had emerged yet.
Sheng Yan wasn’t in a hurry to leave. He had one more important task to attend to.
After casually drying himself off with a large towel, Sheng Yan opened a small round jar and dipped his fingers in, scooping up a small amount…
This wasn’t something Sheng Yan needed to do himself, but considering the other man outside was clearly a virgin, and he didn’t want to risk unnecessary harm, he decided to take matters into his own hands for this first time.
Still, doing it himself wasn’t exactly smooth… especially after nearly a month of being so busy with work that he hadn’t had the time or energy to pleasure himself.
Sheng Yan frowned unconsciously. In the steamed-up, blurry mirror, his face was faintly flushed with desire.
After nearly ten minutes, he let out a soft sigh. He draped a bathrobe around himself, tying the belt casually at his waist, and walked unhurriedly to the reception room.
The moment Gu Zhiyi heard his footsteps, he looked up, but his gaze snapped down again the instant his eyes met Sheng Yan’s.
Yet that fleeting glance was enough to imprint Sheng Yan’s current appearance in Gu Zhiyi’s mind—
His hair was clearly still damp, water droplets trickling down the wet strands into the delicate hollow of his collarbones, continuing their descent into the neckline of the towel.
Whether it was his imagination or not, Sheng Yan’s peach-blossom eyes seemed even more alluring than before, as if steamed in the mist, almost radiating a hint of seductive charm.
The two calves exposed beneath the bath towel were longer and fairer than Gu Zhiyi had imagined. Standing barefoot on the dark brown floor, the stark contrast between his pale skin and the floor was eye-catching, even nerve-wracking.
Gu Zhiyi felt his breath tighten in his chest.
“I’m done,” Sheng Yan said, completely oblivious to the effect he was having. He walked over and stood beside Gu Zhiyi, not sitting down. “Hurry up. I’ll wait for you in the bedroom.”
Gu Zhiyi’s mind was still hazy; he hadn’t even properly heard what Sheng Yan said. His head was filled with the message his roommate had just sent him:
He’s so good-looking, I’m serious. Brother Yi, you’re not losing out.
When Sheng Yan didn’t get a response, he casually asked, “What are you spacing out about?”
Gu Zhiyi snapped back to reality, but for once, his mouth moved faster than his brain. Before he could stop himself, he blurted out what was on his mind: “I was thinking… my roommate said you’re good-looking.”
As soon as the words left his lips, Gu Zhiyi seemed to realize what he had said, and his thin lips tightened into a straight line.
Sheng Yan raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of surprise in his expression, and let out a soft “Hmm?” from his nose.
The upward inflection of the sound was effortlessly alluring.
Gu Zhiyi didn’t respond immediately. He barely suppressed the urge to raise his hand and rub his ear, his mind locked in a battle of internal conflict.
After a long pause, as if resigned to his fate or too embarrassed to speak, Gu Zhiyi closed his eyes, unlocked his phone, tapped a few times, and turned the screen toward Sheng Yan.
It showed his recent conversation with his roommate:
Brother Yi, I’m back at the dorm. Just wondering, are you coming back tonight?
No.
You… with that beauty? Oh wait, handsome guy?
Yeah.
Didn’t you used to say you couldn’t understand… Ah, never mind. He’s so good-looking, I’m serious, Brother Yi, you’re not losing out.
The conversation ended there. Gu Zhiyi hadn’t replied further.
Sheng Yan finished reading quickly, and the smile in his eyes deepened by another two points.
Sheng Yan, being tactful, didn’t press further about what Gu Zhiyi couldn’t understand. Instead, he chuckled lightly. “I thought you’d want to keep this from your roommates.”
One-night stands with strangers might be commonplace in the mature world of working adults, but for university students, acceptance levels could vary widely.
Especially for a guy like the one in front of him, exceptionally handsome, and based on their brief conversation, Sheng Yan had already guessed he was likely a top student. It was no surprise that this guy must be a campus celebrity.
That’s why Sheng Yan hadn’t expected him to admit it so readily to his roommates.
Perhaps surprised that Sheng Yan’s first concern was this, Gu Zhiyi fell silent for a moment before answering softly, “I don’t like to hide things.”
Even though, just hours before, Gu Zhiyi would have found this entire situation incomprehensible and utterly unimaginable.
But now it was happening.
So Gu Zhiyi wouldn’t bother with pointless concealment. There was no need, and he wouldn’t stoop to such behavior.
Sheng Yan paused briefly, a hint of admiration growing in his eyes.
“What a coincidence,” Sheng Yan’s eyes crinkled into a smile. “Great minds think alike.”
With that, he effortlessly steered the conversation back into ambiguous territory.
“So,” he said, handing the phone back to Gu Zhiyi and looking straight into his dark eyes, “do you think I’m handsome?”
It was an obvious question, yet Sheng Yan insisted on asking it, demanding an answer from Gu Zhiyi.
Gu Zhiyi had never encountered such a situation in his twenty years of life.
No one at school, male or female, would ever dare confront him directly with a question like, “Do you think I’m handsome?”
Even if someone did, he would have coldly replied, “How boring,” and ignored them completely.
But now…
Now, gazing into those beautiful eyes so close, and the tiny mole on the side of his nose, also within arm’s reach…
Gu Zhiyi’s Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily.
He heard his voice, inexplicably deeper and huskier, give the most honest answer: “Yes.”
The person before him smiled again, his eyes and eyebrows overflowing with amusement, exuding an endless charm.
“Good boy,” Sheng Yan said, lightly touching Gu Zhiyi’s lips with his fingertip before quickly withdrawing it. “Go take a shower. When you’re done, I’ll reward you by letting you apply body lotion for me.”
At first, Gu Zhiyi found the offer baffling. He didn’t understand why applying body lotion would be considered a reward, and the brief touch on his lips and Sheng Yan’s “Good boy” left him disoriented. It took him a long, hot shower to finally shake off some of the daze.
But the moment he emerged from the bathroom in his bathrobe and stepped into the bedroom, his mind went hazy again.
Gu Zhiyi froze at the doorway, suddenly understanding what Sheng Yan meant by “reward.”
The bathrobe lay discarded to one side, while Sheng Yan knelt in the center of the bed, his entire back exposed to Gu Zhiyi’s view.
His shoulder blades were striking.
And there was that exquisite swirl, deep and captivating.
Gu Zhiyi pressed his tongue hard against his canine tooth.
“Finished showering?” Sheng Yan turned to look at him, his gaze lingering briefly on the waist and abdomen hidden by the bathrobe before he smiled again. “Come help me. I’ve already applied lotion to the front. Just do my back.”
After a two-second pause, Gu Zhiyi finally stepped into the bedroom and sat down on the edge of the bed.
Without a word, Gu Zhiyi took a small bottle of body lotion from Sheng Yan’s hand, immediately noticing the distinct rose scent.
The fragrance was rich but not overpowering, perfectly suited to the person before him.
He twisted off the cap, squeezed a small amount into his palm, and reached out to cover it with his hand.
Even his fingers felt stiff.
The moment his hand touched Sheng Yan’s back, every muscle in Gu Zhiyi’s arm tensed to its limit.
With all clothing removed, the exceptionally clear, smooth, and warm texture, like the finest mutton-fat jade, was completely unobstructed, transmitting every nuance to Gu Zhiyi’s palm and fingertips.
It felt like an invisible current, instantly surging from his palm to every corner of his body, making his eyes tremble almost nervously.
He was unconsciously applying the lotion very slowly.
Rather than applying body lotion, it was more like he was using this opportunity to linger, continuously stroking and unable to put it down…
Sheng Yan was naturally aware of this, but he made no move to stop him, not even to remind him, deliberately indulging him instead.
The air in the room was completely saturated with the scent of roses.
After an indeterminate amount of time, Gu Zhiyi’s fingers slowly slid down Sheng Yan’s clearly defined spine, spreading the last bit of body lotion in a circular motion.
As he felt the hand getting closer, Sheng Yan suddenly spoke, his voice laced with amusement, “No need to apply any further down…”
Gu Zhiyi’s fingers froze. It took him two seconds to realize what Sheng Yan meant. He snatched his hand back as if he’d been electrocuted, immediately trying to defend himself, “I wasn’t going to apply it there anyway…”
His tone was uncharacteristically tinged with frustration, a stark contrast to his usual cold, detached manner.
Sheng Yan chuckled again, then added slyly, “Not that kind of ‘further down.’ I meant, I already applied it myself earlier.”
Already applied it himself.
No matter how inexperienced Gu Zhiyi was in practical matters, he was still an adult. He couldn’t possibly be that dense.
Yet the very fact that he understood made him even more flustered. The small tube of body lotion in his hand was so tightly clenched it was about to crack.
Sheng Yan suddenly turned to face Gu Zhiyi directly.
He raised a hand, his fingertips reaching forward.
The snow-white bath towel now had a distinct, hilly shape.
Through the fabric, Sheng Yan lightly pressed the peak of the “hill.” As Gu Zhiyi let out an involuntary gasp, Sheng Yan finally smiled and got to the point, using the most proper language to deliver the most improper line: “First meeting, a greeting… Should I say ‘Welcome’?”
