Doctor Gu’s Orange Cat Boyfriend - Chapter 16
He seemed to be reading, his fingers occasionally turning a page. The study was so quiet that only the rustling of paper could be heard.
【Woo woo woo, a man focused on his work is the most handsome…】
【Even the back of his head looks good. The world really is unfair.】
Lin Xiaomiao was completely engrossed in the scene when Gu Chaoyu, seated at his desk, suddenly seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. He put down his book, swiveled his chair, and turned toward the doorway.
Their eyes locked.
Lin Xiaomiao froze, her entire feline body stiffening.
【Caught!】
【What do I do? What do I do? What do I do?!】
【Why did he turn around so suddenly?! Does he have super hearing?!】
【Should I meow innocently now, or turn tail and run?】
Just as Lin Xiaomiao’s brain was racing so fast its CPU was about to overheat, Gu Chaoyu stood up from his chair. He took long strides, walking step by step toward the doorway.
He reached the doorway, crouched down, and lowered his gaze to meet Lin Xiaomiao’s eyes. His voice was gentle as he said, “Orange, you’re here.”
Lin Xiaomiao decided to maintain his aloof little cat persona, merely giving a symbolic flick of his tail without uttering a sound.
Gu Chaoyu extended his hand, gently resting it on Lin Xiaomiao’s head and stroking down his spine.
The warm sensation transmitted through the fur, and Lin Xiaomiao felt so comfortable he nearly purred out loud.
【Ahhhhhhh his hand!】
【So warm! So good!】
【No, no, I’m going to melt… Lin Xiaomiao, hold your ground! You’re a cat here to scout the enemy, not to beg for pets!】
Gu Chaoyu’s fingertips teased his chin with just the right pressure. It was the spot no cat could resist.
Lin Xiaomiao’s resolve crumbled inch by inch. His body betrayed him, tilting his little head upward to invite deeper attention.
【Damn it… My body won’t obey me…】
Watching his blissful expression and hearing the internal battle raging in his mind, Gu Chaoyu found him adorably irresistible.
【Silly little thing, thought you were hiding it well.】
【So easily charmed by a touch, not a shred of caution.】
He stood up, ruffled the cat’s head, and said, “I’m going to take a shower. Wait here.”
With that, he turned and headed toward the bathroom.
Leaving behind a stunned Lin Xiaomiao, frozen in place.
【Shower…?!】
【Now? In front of me… Oh no, in front of a cat?!】
【And he told me to wait for him?!】
【What is this?! Is this some new kind of seduction tactic? I’m just a little kitty. What could I possibly understand!?】
The bathroom door closed, and soon the sound of running water filled the air.
The splashing, drop by drop, pounded on Lin Xiaomiao’s heart, sending his thoughts spiraling uncontrollably toward the bathroom.
【Water droplets fell from those jet-black strands, hovering over the slightly rolling Adam’s apple before being split by that sensual curve. Each droplet wound its way toward deeper, hotter places.】
【Pfft! Pfft! Pfft! Lin Mucí! You pervert! What kind of filthy thoughts are you having?】
【Grow some backbone! You’re a writer, a cultured person! You can’t have your mind filled with this kind of stuff!】
He shook his head violently, trying to shake off those unhealthy images. To distract himself, he took a few short steps and began patrolling the living room.
He leapt onto the sofa, where Gu Chaoyu’s scent lingered. It was a faint, pleasant herbal fragrance. Lin Xiaomiao couldn’t resist burying his face in the cushions and inhaling deeply.
【Mmm, that’s the scent… So good…】
【If only I could smell it forever…】
Just as he was getting lost in the scent of “Gu Chaoyu,” the sound of water in the bathroom stopped.
Click. The bathroom door unlocked.
Lin Xiaomiao jolted upright, lifting her head from the sofa cushion and nervously peering toward the bathroom door.
Gu Chaoyu’s hair was still dripping wet, damp strands hanging over his forehead. It softened his usual cool demeanor, lending him an unexpectedly sweet contrast. He wore nothing on his upper body. His broad shoulders, defined chest and abdominal muscles, and that insanely sexy V-line… Water droplets slowly slid down his taut muscles, finally disappearing into the loose, white bath towel draped around his waist.
【!!!!!!!!!!!!!!】
【Help… Help me!!!】
【Is… Is this something I get to see without paying?!】
【This physique… It’s hotter than all the male gods in my hard drive!】
【Holy crap! I’ve witnessed a miracle! My soul feels purified!】
【Oh no, I’m gonna nose-bleed. Do cats even nose-bleed? Need answers ASAP!】
Lin Xiaomiao realized humans weren’t the only ones stuck on repeat, cats were too. His brain was currently looping nothing but the phrase “Holy shit.”
Gu Chaoyu wiped his hair, seemingly oblivious to the scorching gaze of a certain feline. He walked over to the sofa, sat down not far from Lin Xiaomiao, and spoke: “Orange, come here.”
Lin Xiaomiao remained motionless, as if he hadn’t heard.
【Come here?】
【How am I supposed to move now?! If I go over, my paws will brush against his thigh!】
【My delicate little heart can’t handle that kind of stimulation!】
Seeing the cat’s inaction, Gu Chaoyu simply extended his long arm, scooped the plump orange cat into his embrace, and placed him on his lap.
Lin Xiaomiao’s paw pads pressed firmly against the warm, firm thigh muscle.
【Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!】
Lin Mucí screamed internally.
【I touched it! I touched it!】
【So hot! So firm! Is this what clinging to someone’s thigh feels like?】
【I’m dead. I died on the spot. No need to revive me, thanks.】
Hearing Lin Xiaomiao’s inner monologue, Gu Chaoyu could barely suppress the smile tugging at his lips. He retrieved a pre-prepared cat teaser from beneath the coffee table and waved it teasingly before the kitten’s eyes.
“Come on, Orange. Let’s play for a bit.”
Lin Xiaomiao’s rational mind screamed: Stay aloof! Act indifferent! Maintain your cover as a spy cat gathering intel!
But his feline instincts took over. Uncontrollably, he extended his paw, swiping at the fluttering feather.
【Dammit! Why won’t my body obey me?!】
【I didn’t want to play with this!】
【But… it’s so fun…】
And so, one man and one cat began playing on the sofa.
While teasing the cat, Gu Chaoyu “casually” shifted his sitting position.
Gradually, Lin Xiaomiao’s attention was drawn elsewhere.
【Wait… that towel…】
【The knot on the towel… isn’t it getting a bit loose?】
【Holy crap, it seems to be getting looser and looser!】
With one forward lean from Gu Chaoyu, the towel which was already tied rather loosely slipped smoothly… and came undone.
