Distance Formula - Chapter 37
Chapter 37
Bai Biqing returned to the hotel. She wasn’t in a hurry to knock on Su Yanshi’s door; instead, she went to her own room to wash her face and take a cold shower. She changed her clothes before coming out, not wanting Su Yanshi to feel any discomfort; Alphas were sensitive, and she knew this all too well.
Su Shang had sent over the full details of what had happened. Bai Biqing understood perfectly what kind of impact her explanation would have on Su Yanshi, and she knew her motives had to be stated upfront.
She tracked down her medical records and compiled everything together.
Holding the stack of documents, Bai Biqing took a deep, grounding breath in front of Su Yanshi’s door and began to knock.
The Alpha didn’t make her wait long, quickly running to open the door.
Su Yanshi’s hair was still wet, her eyes were still red, and she was holding her phone. Bai Biqing’s sharp eyes caught sight of their chat window; there were only three words typed: “I am sorry.”
“Teacher Bai,” Su Yanshi called to her, her breath thin.
Bai Biqing didn’t say a word. She pushed her way in assertively, closing the door behind her with her hand still at her back. She leaned against the door, her gaze lingering: “Yanshi.”
“About today, I want to give you an explanation. I’m sorry for letting you misunderstand.”
Su Yanshi looked at her, her eyes reflecting the light with exceptional brightness. Her heart beat uncontrollably; she felt that what was about to happen next was beyond her control.
“Okay, I’m listening.” Su Yanshi sat on the sofa. The Beta followed her, but Bai Biqing didn’t sit immediately. Instead, she pushed the documents in her hand toward Su Yanshi.
“You should be aware of my illness. Let me re-introduce it to you. I can smell the pheromones of Alphas and Omegas because I have an underdeveloped gland. It shortens my lifespan and affects my life. There is essentially no medication to treat it. Currently, there is only one way: finding someone with a high compatibility match with me. But there is a price. Beta pheromones are rare, so they create an extremely high bond with the other party. That means, Su Yanshi—”
Bai Biqing lifted her head: “You are that person, from the very moment we met. We have a 95% compatibility rate, which is why you are addicted to my pheromones. Only a 100% compatible Omega could block us. My motive for approaching you was not pure.”
She paused, her breath hitching, not daring to look at Su Yanshi’s expression: “I took a pheromone suppressant injection, so you can no longer smell my pheromones. My goal was to make you fall in love with me sincerely, so that my treatment wouldn’t face too many difficulties. I didn’t want to tell you now; I wanted to tell you after you finished filming. Regardless of the outcome, I would have respected your choice.”
“Yanshi…” Bai Biqing sighed, her nerves showing.
Su Yanshi didn’t speak. She quietly flipped through the materials Bai Biqing had given her, as well as the printed chat records. Why Su Shang did what she did, the motive and the cause—it was all clear and undeniable.
The Alpha’s eyes instantly turned red. She choked up, forcing herself to remain calm: “So, do you like me? Or… is it just for my pheromones?”
“For someone you’ve only known for twenty-odd days, it seems impossible when you think about it. I’m grateful you’re willing to tell me this. Indeed, Su Shang’s actions really hurt me. I was wondering why things felt so strange. I suppose I fell into your trap.”
Su Yanshi wiped away a tear with her fingertip: “I’m willing to provide you with pheromones. It’s just a couple of bites, it’s nothing.”
“Anyway, you don’t need to be my assistant anymore; it’s not worth it. Actually, it wouldn’t be impossible for you to keep me as a ‘mistress.’ I like money, as you well know. I don’t blame you; everyone has to look out for themselves.”
The Alpha’s tears fell uncontrollably. She turned, wanting to flee, but the next second her wrist was seized by an icy grip. In an instant, the world spun. She was lying on the bed, staring at Bai Biqing in a daze: “Bai Biqing.” It was the first time she had called her by her full name.
Bai Biqing pinned her down, her gaze fixed on Su Yanshi with a hint of madness. Her fingers traced the Alpha’s features bit by bit. Su Yanshi did not resist; she even submissively opened her mouth and took the finger in.
The warmth and softness of the tongue made Bai Biqing unable to restrain herself any longer, and she pressed down for a kiss. She gently teased Su Yanshi, biting and licking—like a wild beast, yet exceptionally tender.
She pinched Su Yanshi’s face, her breathing heavy: “Su Yanshi, I like you.”
“I’ve liked you for a very long time.”
Bai Biqing covered her mouth, not wanting to hear her answer. She buried her head in Su Yanshi’s neck, kissing her. Her hand slid inside the hem of her clothes. She bit the Alpha’s earlobe, whispering wetly: “Give it to me, Yanshi, give it to me—”
Su Yanshi’s consciousness began to burn. Her vision blurred, and she only vaguely felt that the position seemed a bit… off.
The Alpha was completely enveloped in moisture. She felt that Bai Biqing was like a leopard; her tongue felt as if it had barbs that made her whole body tingle.
The painter’s hand slowly caressed her exquisite work. She first used a bit of white paint as a base, applying quite a bit of pressure, causing the canvas to shake uncontrollably, letting out a soft moan.
Her gaze was intensely focused, polishing every detail from head to toe. Transparent paint gradually covered the entire painting. She added some red—it was a bit hot, but that didn’t matter.
The artist looked at her work with obsession, the strength in her hands increasing. She gripped both sides of the “canvas,” her knuckles turning white.
She whispered: “Perfect.”
“Yanshi, you are too perfect.”
Su Yanshi buried her head in the pillow. At first, she could manage a few whimpers, but by the end, she could only bite the edge of the pillow and sob. Tears soaked a patch of the fabric. She was covered in hot sweat that would dry only to be replaced again.
Suddenly, her eyes widened. Her waist arched as she gripped Bai Biqing tightly, biting her shoulder. she let out her first harsh word to Bai Biqing: “Bai Biqing, you’d better not let go.”
Strawberry and strong liquor merged in a strange harmony.
The Alpha’s fingertips trembled as she gently touched Bai Biqing’s inconspicuous gland. Possessiveness instantly filled her eyes. She lifted her body and, regardless of everything, bit down with force. Blood was in her throat, in her body.
“You are very beautiful today, too.”
It was unclear if it was a mumble or a whisper, lost in the deep, colorful haze of the night.
