Deliberate Possession [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 89
Chapter 89: Unaccountable
In the latter half of the night, Jiang Yumian was often in a state between dreaming and waking, stirring and then going back to sleep, not resting soundly.
It wasn’t until the umpteenth time she opened her eyes that she rubbed them and fumbled for her phone under the pillow.
It was only half past six in the morning.
A faint light filtered into the room through a crack in the curtains. Jiang Yumian stared blankly for a few seconds. The room was still dim.
She put down her phone, gently lifted the hand draped over her waist, and cautiously turned around to face Jing Xiaoyan.
Jing Xiaoyan was sleeping quietly, a few unruly strands of hair falling onto her face. Jiang Yumian reached out, subconsciously holding her breath, and slowly and gently brushed them away.
Seeing her in a deep sleep, Jiang Yumian curved her brows and a soft smile appeared on her face.
Since Jing Xiaoyan wasn’t waking up, a mischievous thought instantly came to mind. Just moments ago, she was afraid of waking her, but now she pressed her face close, feeling her breath. Their noses lightly touched. Jiang Yumian took a shallow breath, then deliberately blinked, her eyelashes lightly fanning Jing Xiaoyan’s cheek.
A few seconds later, she leaned in and kissed Jing Xiaoyan’s lips. Her leg under the blanket squeezed its way between Jing Xiaoyan’s legs. She wrapped her arm around her, pushing Jing Xiaoyan’s chin up with her forehead, and buried her head in Jing Xiaoyan’s embrace.
Jing Xiaoyan stirred awake, her hand instinctively tightening, pulling Jiang Yumian closer, and then going back to sleep.
Jiang Yumian took a comfortable deep breath in her arms. She couldn’t fall back asleep. She pouted, pressing her lips against the skin of her neck. Having started nuzzling, she began to kiss.
Tiny, sparse kisses and warm breath falling on the skin would make it hard not to wake up, no matter how deep the sleep. Jing Xiaoyan shrank her shoulders, hugging the person in her arms tightly.
Although she was woken up and very sleepy, she indulged her. She consciously lifted her jaw, pressing her palm against the back of Jiang Yumian’s neck to make it easier for her to kiss.
Hearing her breathing deepen slightly, Jiang Yumian licked her lips, her eyes flashing. She deliberately raised her trapped leg and rubbed it against her.
Last night was too wild. They only managed a quick shower before collapsing into sleep. They were still naked now.
Jing Xiaoyan’s breathing deepened slightly. The fingers pressing against the back of Jiang Yumian’s neck tightened slightly. She felt a little uncomfortable until Jiang Yumian rubbed against her twice, which made her feel much better.
She slightly opened her eyes, moved her fingers to Jiang Yumian’s ear, and gently pinched it, twisting it lightly in a punitive manner. It was unclear if she was reluctant or if she didn’t have much strength, but Jiang Yumian didn’t feel any pain.
“Move your leg.” Jing Xiaoyan’s tone was soft and her voice was very low.
Jiang Yumian rolled her eyes. Not only did she not move it, but she deliberately rubbed harder. “Then don’t clamp me.”
Jing Xiaoyan groaned softly. The arm around Jiang Yumian’s back tightened even more. She quickly released her clamped legs. Although she was a little reluctant, she reached out and pushed her leg away.
She closed her eyes again. “It’s not even light yet. Keep sleeping.”
Jiang Yumian propped herself up with her arms, her other hand pressing on Jing Xiaoyan’s shoulder, looking down at her. “Are you still able to sleep now?”
Jing Xiaoyan kept her eyes closed, not saying anything. She quickly let go of the hand on her shoulder, lay flat, and continued to sleep.
“Stop pretending.” Jiang Yumian reached out and pinched her face, half her body lying on top of her. “Don’t be shy. I can already feel it.”
The air in the room was silent for a few seconds.
Jiang Yumian released her hand from her face and reached under the blanket. “Are you afraid I’ll retaliate against you?”
Jing Xiaoyan’s brows moved. She quickly grabbed the hand that was about to succeed and opened her eyes. “You were so tired you fell asleep yesterday. I’m worried that you’re not resting well and are too exhausted.”
She quickly advised, “So, hurry up and sleep. I want to sleep until I wake up naturally.”
Jiang Yumian glared. She wasn’t tired to the point of falling asleep!
She bit her lip in anger. “I was clearly by you, by you…”
She couldn’t finish the last part of the sentence. She was clearly passed out from being tormented by Jing Xiaoyan.
It was all because of those fanfics. Jing Xiaoyan had stumbled her way through learning a lot of things yesterday and was pressing her to try them out.
Jing Xiaoyan blinked, asking deliberately, “By me what?”
Jiang Yumian glared at her, let out a forceful “Hmph,” pulled back the hand she was holding, lay down indignantly, and turned her back to her.
If she didn’t get it, she wouldn’t get it either.
Jiang Yumian wasn’t sleepy. As soon as she turned around, she took out her phone, opened a novel app, and randomly found a novel to read. However, before she could read a single word, a hand landed on her waist.
With a strong pull, her back was pressed tightly against Jing Xiaoyan’s embrace. Jiang Yumian struggled for a moment, angrily reaching out to pull Jing Xiaoyan’s arm away, but the person behind her immediately lifted her leg, locking her tightly in her embrace, leaving her unable to move.
A few kisses landed on her shoulder, and Jiang Yumian’s breathing became slightly unstable.
The kissing continued. She paid close attention to the discomfort between her legs, quickly regained her rationality, and patted the hand on her waist. She couldn’t let her continue.
She spoke up to remind her, “Go to sleep. Don’t disturb me reading my novel.”
Jing Xiaoyan looked up, her gaze falling on Jiang Yumian’s phone screen. She was a little suspicious. “Is it that kind again?”
Was she sure she could hold back after reading it?
Jiang Yumian took a sharp breath in anger, pulled her phone closer, and thrust it in front of her face for her to see. “Open your eyes and look clearly. It’s a green platform. It’s a very clean platform, alright!”
She then muttered softly, “You think everyone is like you, only interested in those kinds of things.”
Jing Xiaoyan raised an eyebrow. “You are. Didn’t you show them to me?”
Jiang Yumian twitched her mouth. “You snatched it to read, and I didn’t tell you to learn from them. Forget it, forget it. Don’t disturb me. You go to sleep.”
Jing Xiaoyan hesitated for a moment, kissed her on the head, and quickly settled down, but still held her. She was indeed still sleepy.
She just couldn’t understand why Jiang Yumian was so energetic.
She lightly rubbed her head against Jiang Yumian’s shoulder, asking softly, “What time is it?”
Jiang Yumian looked up at the time. “Almost seven.”
Jing Xiaoyan thought with her eyes closed. They had been up until late last night, so it seemed they had slept for quite a while.
She kept her eyes closed. “Then I’ll nap for a bit and then get up.”
Hearing her sleepy voice, Jiang Yumian leaned back and snuggled into her arms. “You sleep.”
About an hour later, Jiang Yumian put down her phone, rubbed her eyes, turned around, hugged Jing Xiaoyan’s head, and kissed her face non-stop.
Jing Xiaoyan, who was woken up by a kiss again: “…”
She struggled to bury her face in Jiang Yumian’s arms. Being pecked on the face non-stop by Jiang Yumian was quite annoying. Jiang Yumian’s kisses were not gentle at all.
Jing Xiaoyan couldn’t help but say, “What is it, Mianmian?”
Jiang Yumian released her head, placing both hands on Jing Xiaoyan’s face. Seeing her bewildered look, Jiang Yumian pouted, lowered her head, and rubbed her forehead against Jing Xiaoyan’s. She said inexplicably, “I feel like you’re going to break.”
The pity in her eyes was also quite unaccountable.
Jing Xiaoyan hugged her and sat up, her neck still hooked by Jiang Yumian’s hands.
She shook her head, her mind much clearer. She reached out and pinched Jiang Yumian’s face. “What are you doing?”
She thought for a moment. Jing Xiaoyan was reading a novel before she fell asleep.
She asked in confusion, “Hugging and kissing me again and you still say you weren’t reading that kind?”
It was just so inexplicable.
Jiang Yumian blinked, saying with a little embarrassment, “I was just reading a novel and got a little immersed in it.”
Jing Xiaoyan’s head was full of dark lines. “What kind of plot did you get immersed in? Why do you feel like I’m going to break?”
Jiang Yumian hooked her neck and kissed her face. “It’s about breaking up due to a misunderstanding, and then meeting again a few years later. You were desperately pulling on me, not daring to talk back even when I was harsh to you. You were so pitiful, your eyes were red, and you looked especially wronged.”
“When I think about it, I feel upset. I feel like you’re going to break.”
Jing Xiaoyan: “…”
Although she felt speechless about Jiang Yumian randomly immersing herself in fiction, Jing Xiaoyan quickly cooperated with her.
Jiang Yumian was still immersed in her imagination, feeling sorry for Jing Xiaoyan. Before she could react, the person in front of her quickly changed her demeanor.
Jing Xiaoyan’s eyes welled up with tears, looking at her aggrievedly, as if she had been bullied by her.
Jiang Yumian panicked. “I was just hypothesizing! I didn’t say we really broke up!”
Jing Xiaoyan looked up, blinked a few times, quickly retracted her surging emotions, put on a smile, and quickly returned to normal.
Jiang Yumian was left stunned.
“Is that the feeling?” Jing Xiaoyan raised an eyebrow, asking proudly.
Jiang Yumian’s mouth twitched. She pinched Jing Xiaoyan’s face, gritting her teeth. “Don’t just randomly put on a show anywhere!”
She truly was something! That sense of brokenness came so naturally. She was definitely suited to be an actress.
Jing Xiaoyan laughed, hugging her. “Don’t immerse this kind of plot onto us in the future. It’s not realistic.”
Jiang Yumian looked at her. “That’s because you’re in bed with me now. You can’t empathize.”
Jing Xiaoyan looked for her pajamas, smiling, and explained, “It’s not like that. My personality won’t allow misunderstandings to exist between us. Even if you misunderstand me and ignore me, I’ll keep going to find you. There won’t be a gap of so many years.”
While putting on her pajamas, she said, “And this situation is even less likely to happen to you. Your mind is clear enough. You can think for yourself. Just like last time, you misunderstood me, but didn’t you figure it out yourself a few days later and come find me?”
Jiang Yumian rubbed her chin in thought, lowered her head to let Jing Xiaoyan help her dress, and finally nodded. “It seems so.”
Given their personalities, they wouldn’t let things drag on for years. They would figure things out quickly.
Jing Xiaoyan pulled her up to wash up, thinking and finding it amusing as she brushed her teeth.
Seeing her smiling inexplicably, knowing she was mocking her for overthinking, Jiang Yumian brushed her teeth and glared unceremoniously at the person in the mirror.
Jing Xiaoyan’s eyes curved. She took a sip of water, rinsed out the foam in her mouth, and said directly, “You like to immerse yourself in novels so much. When you read the fanfics written specifically about us, do the scenes appear in your mind?”
Jiang Yumian glared at her, kicked her leg, and said indistinctly, “Get lost!”
After washing up, they made some breakfast. Jing Xiaoyan sat at the dining table, looking at Jiang Yumian as if she wanted to say something. After Jiang Yumian finished eating, she hesitated for a few seconds before saying, “I’m going out today.”
Jiang Yumian blinked, a little confused. “Work? Where are you going?”
Jing Xiaoyan shook her head. “I made an appointment with my dad. Some things need to be made clear.”
After saying that, she cautiously looked up, observing Jiang Yumian’s expression.
Jiang Yumian frowned and nodded. “Okay. I’ll go with you.”
Jing Xiaoyan opened her mouth, wanting to say it wasn’t necessary, but Jiang Yumian immediately glared her down.
“A meeting is good. It can count as meeting the parents.”
Hearing Jiang Yumian say this, Jing Xiaoyan nodded, knowing she had to listen to her.
They left together, with Jing Xiaoyan driving to a teahouse.
Jiang Yumian sat in the car, propping her head up. “Are you afraid of him?”
Being asked this out of the blue, Jing Xiaoyan paused and smiled. “I was afraid before, but I’m not anymore.”
Because unimportant people can’t hurt her.
Jiang Yumian finally felt more at ease. Her eyes were fixed on Jing Xiaoyan, who was driving seriously.
Jing Xiaoyan turned her head to look at her again and added, “People I don’t love can’t hurt me.”
