Deliberate Possession [Entertainment Industry] - Chapter 108.1
Chapter 108.1: Not Quite the Same
The two protested in unison, both staring intently at the card in Su Mumu’s hand. Chu Qianyuan directly took the card from her hand. “I’ll use it. I’ll exchange with Jing Xiaoyan.”
Su Mumu turned to look at her. “Are you serious?”
Chu Qianyuan’s expression was firm. “The medals cannot be exchanged, but the mandatory exchange card is not restricted.”
What she said was quite reasonable. Jiang Yumian glanced at Jing Xiaoyan beside her. Seeing her nod in agreement, she thought for a moment and let her do as she pleased.
In the end, Su Mumu and Chu Qianyuan were both on the black team, and everyone else was on the white team.
Luo Cheng and Ling Yisong, who hadn’t been with them, eventually joined them as well. Both of them had black medals, so Xie Yunhuan was automatically assigned to Jiang Yumian’s team.
After spending more than an hour walking around, including searching for the treasure chests, the hot springs were nowhere near them and were not seen at all. Also, since Xie Yunhuan hadn’t arrived, their basic filming content was over. It was freezing outside, so the group simply returned to the hotel. They didn’t deliberately go looking for the hot springs, as they would be going there tonight anyway.
Jing Xiaoyan returned to the room and immediately rubbed against Jiang Yumian. “Is that Yin Youbing related to Yin Xiangyu?”
Could Yin Xiangyu’s ambition be rekindled, and she was trying a different method to pursue her girlfriend?
“Yes, yes, yes,” Jiang Yumian said with a helpless tone, struggling to pull her arm out of Jing Xiaoyan’s embrace. She lifted her neck and removed the scarf. “She is Yin Xiangyu’s half-sister.”
She added, “Let go of me quickly. I need to take off my jacket.”
Jing Xiaoyan quickly let go of her. It was quite uncomfortable to hug her through the thick clothes.
Relieved of the restraints on her body, Jiang Yumian sat on the sofa, and was immediately embraced by Jing Xiaoyan again.
Jing Xiaoyan buried her face next to her shoulder. “Yin Xiangyu’s sister invited us here to film a show. What does that mean?”
Jiang Yumian pursed her lips. “Who cares what she means.”
Noticing the displeased tone in her voice, Jing Xiaoyan raised an eyebrow and looked up slightly. “What’s wrong? You don’t seem to like her.”
Jiang Yumian snorted softly. “It’s not about liking or disliking. I just think her intentions are impure. I prefer people who are upfront and clear about their intentions. Being direct is much better.”
Jing Xiaoyan smiled slyly. “Why don’t you just say you like someone like me? Why be so subtle?”
Jiang Yumian was speechless by Jing Xiaoyan’s narcissism, but she didn’t show it on her face. She just stared at her for two seconds before speaking. “Don’t twist my words. What I mean is that I like Yin Xiangyu’s type, in the way she deals with things. Whether she likes me or wants to collaborate, she is very straightforward.”
“Hey!” Jing Xiaoyan frowned, quickly let go of her, and looked straight at Jiang Yumian, her eyes filled with strong displeasure. “Didn’t I tell you that I liked you! Why do you say you like Yin Xiangyu!”
She then crossed her arms, turned sideways, and let out a forceful “humph,” sulking with her back to Jiang Yumian. She actually said she liked Yin Xiangyu!
Jiang Yumian curved her lips into a smile, not going over to coax Jing Xiaoyan. She leaned back on the sofa and sat quietly for a few seconds. Just as Jing Xiaoyan was waiting more and more anxiously and was about to turn back, Jiang Yumian finally spoke.
“You’re different. My liking for you is the kind of love I have for a lover.”
She added, “When I say I like Yin Xiangyu, I mean I like that kind of interaction style—no beating around the bush.”
Although Jiang Yumian’s words were just stating facts, they sounded like they were coated in honey to Jing Xiaoyan. They were so sweet that Jing Xiaoyan’s smile was harder to suppress than an AK-47.
Jing Xiaoyan pretended to be reserved and pressed her lips for two seconds, but failed. She simply gave up, turned around with a smile, and hugged Jiang Yumian.
Although she was deliberately being unreasonable and sulking on purpose, Jiang Yumian was willing to coax her.
Jing Xiaoyan was easily appeased and didn’t hold a grudge anymore. She buried her head in Jiang Yumian’s neck and spoke sensibly, “That makes sense.”
But she was still a little petty, needing to compare herself to Yin Xiangyu. “But I’m also quite direct. You got along very well with me before we got together, better than that Yin Xiangyu.”
Jiang Yumian slightly lowered her gaze, focusing on Jing Xiaoyan. Hearing her mention their relationship before they got together, she recalled it and quickly bit her lip awkwardly.
Before they got together, she was basically treated like a monkey by Jing Xiaoyan!
Jing Xiaoyan tricked her left and right. She was almost completely fooled. Jing Xiaoyan before they got together was nothing like she was now. She was simply an ambitious, big fox.
“Humph, you’re not any better. You’re the one with the most tricks, and you used them all on me, didn’t you?”
Jiang Yumian reached out and pushed Jing Xiaoyan’s body, which was leaning against her shoulder, though she didn’t use much force.
Jing Xiaoyan immediately pushed back, hugging her even tighter, and said confidently, “Well, besides not telling you that the WeChat account was mine, did I not clearly show you all the tricks I used when pursuing you?”
“Yes, so do I need to praise you, Sister?” Jiang Yumian replied unhappily, her arms tightening around Jing Xiaoyan’s waist in retaliation, as if she wanted to choke her, but in reality, she was just hugging her tighter.
She deliberately called her Sister. She wondered if Jing Xiaoyan would feel embarrassed to answer now. Now, in front of her, Jing Xiaoyan didn’t look like the older one at all, just happy all the time. But maybe it wasn’t so bad.
Jiang Yumian actually missed when Jing Xiaoyan was gentle and considerate towards her. However, she failed to notice that she was also a little different now. After joining the company, she became more composed, and her overall demeanor slowly changed. She was not as lively in front of outsiders as before, and unconsciously put on airs.
Jing Xiaoyan didn’t know what she was thinking, only hearing Jiang Yumian deliberately teasing her about wanting to praise her. She immediately replied cheekily, “You don’t need to praise me, but Mianmian, how about two kisses?”
Just as Jing Xiaoyan was about to get up to kiss her, Jiang Yumian quickly reached out and covered her mouth, stopping her instantly.
Meeting Jing Xiaoyan’s resentful gaze, Jiang Yumian coughed lightly. “No kissing yet. Let’s talk about serious business.”
She let go of Jing Xiaoyan’s mouth, but her gaze unconsciously fell on it. Jiang Yumian slightly parted her lips. She was quite craving a kiss. She felt an itch in her throat and was afraid Jing Xiaoyan would notice her swallowing, so she held it in and subtly averted her gaze.
She really wanted to kiss too. It was so tiring to hold back. Jiang Yumian also really wanted to forgive Jing Xiaoyan quickly and then snuggle with her without any worries.
She was really…
She was really suffering because of her own pride.
Jing Xiaoyan waited for two seconds, noticing that Jiang Yumian was spacing out, and couldn’t help but urge her, “What serious business? Say it!”
Jiang Yumian snapped back to attention, reached out and pinched Jing Xiaoyan’s cheek, sighing deeply, and said earnestly, “Look at how childish you were in front of the camera today. It really wastes your poised and classy face. You’ve been using it to be a comedienne. Can you please go back to your previous demeanor? You are becoming more and more childish in front of others.”
Today, she was even squeezing Lin Xi back and forth. She was really exasperated with her. Jiang Yumian was worried that if Jing Xiaoyan continued like this, her public persona would completely collapse.
Although it was mostly ruined on Weibo and in the previous few episodes of the variety show, it could still be salvaged now. It would be best not to let the audience have a fixed impression of her persona, especially the comical one.
Jing Xiaoyan wasn’t filming a comedy movie. If it were, it wouldn’t be a big problem, but she wasn’t.
After hearing Jiang Yumian’s words, Jing Xiaoyan’s mouth twitched. She knew her own problem, but she couldn’t help it. She was silent for a few seconds, then said helplessly, and somewhat innocently, “But when you’re around, I just can’t help myself…”
Can’t help but do things that make others speechless.
Jiang Yumian sighed. “I’m worried about the impact on you. Few movie stars appear on entertainment variety shows, and even fewer like you, who pay no attention to maintaining their image.”
Jing Xiaoyan understood Jiang Yumian’s reminder. Sister Guan had also told her to be careful.
Jing Xiaoyan thought for a few seconds, quickly kissed Jiang Yumian on the lips, and then comforted her with the same words she used to comfort Sister Guan. “It’s okay. Although some fans say I’m different from what they imagined, it’s harmless. I haven’t lost many fans, and I’ve gained quite a few.”
“In fact, because of this variety show, quite a few new scripts have been sent to me, and they are quite similar to my personality. This can be considered a new breakthrough in casting. Directors before wouldn’t have thought of me for these types of roles. Now it’s different. My path seems wider, and I always need to change.”
Jiang Yumian’s face stiffened. She had a narrow view of things.
Ling Yisong and Xie Yunhuan had been offered campus drama scripts by directors after the first episode because the two students performed quite well. Xie Yunhuan had wanted to switch to acting and had boasted about receiving the message in the group chat.
Su Mumu and Chu Qianyuan had also been approached by directors, so Jing Xiaoyan, who was always excellent, was no exception.
Jiang Yumian patted her head. She hadn’t considered so many things. Mainly because she was about to retire, and word had spread within the industry, so no directors came to bother her.
Seeing Jiang Yumian’s strained face relax, Jing Xiaoyan rubbed against her face and smiled. “So there are pros and cons. Besides, it’s only one season of filming, and this is my only variety show. After this program airs, the audience will soon find a new substitute and quickly forget.”
Realizing she had worried for nothing, Jiang Yumian cleared her throat and gave a faint “Mhm.” “Then, are there any scripts you’re interested in?”
Jing Xiaoyan shook her head. “I said I’m taking a year off. I have a movie coming out soon. If I film too much, the audience will probably get visual fatigue from seeing me. Plus, I need to familiarize myself with the company’s operations.”
The most important reason was that she wanted to be in a relationship. She felt that she had worked diligently for so many years. What’s wrong with spending more time with her girlfriend and dating?
She only thought this in her head and didn’t say it out loud. Otherwise, Jiang Yumian would complain again that she was only planning to date her for one year.
Because she didn’t say it, Jiang Yumian became unhappy.
She pouted, wanting to complain that Jing Xiaoyan didn’t even say something nice to cheer her up, but then she remembered that she hadn’t forgiven her and it wasn’t appropriate to talk like that.
So she had to hold it in, giving a lukewarm “Mhm.”
She secretly vowed that she would never do this kind of self-harming thing that was only slightly detrimental to the enemy again. Jing Xiaoyan seemed completely fine, and she was almost suffocated!
Jiang Yumian gritted her teeth. Next time, she would retaliate subtly!
With everything said, Jing Xiaoyan pressed down on her shoulders, afraid that Jiang Yumian would push her away again, and directly straddled her lap.
“Can I kiss you now? Is there anything else you haven’t said?”
Her tone was eager, her head lowered, her mouth almost touching Jiang Yumian’s lips.
Jiang Yumian subtly sniffed, secretly inhaling Jing Xiaoyan’s scent, then pretended to be calm, bringing up the earlier matter again. “Try to control yourself when filming the show. Maintain your image a little. I don’t really like this side of you being exposed to the public.”
Jing Xiaoyan seemed to understand the implied meaning. She blinked, her voice full of pleasant surprise. “You… you don’t want others to see, you just want to see it yourself.”
Jiang Yumian’s throat tightened, feeling a little guilty. She opened her mouth to argue, “I just don’t want to see you ruin your own image.”
“Don’t twist my words. It’s already ruined, actually,” Jing Xiaoyan hooked her arms around Jiang Yumian’s neck, pressed her forehead against hers, and directly exposed her. “Such strong possessiveness. Why didn’t I notice it before?”
Jiang Yumian bit her tongue, momentarily at a loss for words.
Jing Xiaoyan rubbed her forehead against hers, continuing to speak proudly and narcissistically. “Mianmian is so domineering. You just want to see it yourself, monopolizing my other side. And you say I’m not like Jiejie. Actually, you prefer me this way.”
Choked by her words, Jiang Yumian bit her lip, pressing her lips together, and said in a somewhat impatient tone, “Are you going to kiss me or not?”
She simply refused to engage with Jing Xiaoyan’s teasing.
Jing Xiaoyan knew she was just embarrassed. She lowered her head directly, pressing her lips against Jiang Yumian’s, and forcefully hooked her neck.
Due to her earlier discovery, Jing Xiaoyan was exceptionally excited now. The passionate kiss was full of madness. Jiang Yumian was forced to tilt her head back. Her tongue, which had just tentatively poked out, was instantly enveloped. Amidst the lingering and turning, their breathing grew heavier, and the sounds in the room were intimate.
After a long time, their breaths were still intertwined. Jing Xiaoyan’s reason was either back or completely gone. She somewhat regretted sitting on Jiang Yumian now, as it was inconvenient for her to move her hands and feet. Jiang Yumian’s hands only knew how to hug her and didn’t move around at all!
She hooked her tongue hard, and the hand resting on Jiang Yumian’s shoulder grabbed her two arms wrapped around her back, forcefully lifting them and pinning her hands above her head.
Jiang Yumian opened her eyes blankly, her eyes still filled with a hazy desire.
Jing Xiaoyan reluctantly moved her lips away. She slid off Jiang Yumian, stood on the floor, and quickly knelt on the sofa between her legs. Her gaze was deep, and her hands were still pinning Jiang Yumian’s hands. Before Jiang Yumian could react, she lowered her head again, her fragmented kisses tracing her neck.
Jiang Yumian’s nerves tightened, but quickly relaxed again. The corners of her eyes were tinged with red, and an involuntary muffled moan escaped her throat. She tilted her head to let Jing Xiaoyan kiss her. The warm, soft kisses made her entire body tingle.
Not noticing any struggle from Jiang Yumian, the hands restraining her were quickly released. Jing Xiaoyan wrapped her arms around her waist, pulling her closer, and then moved to push her down.
Jiang Yumian gasped slightly, grabbing her arm. “Stop. There’s no time now.”
The hot, intimate atmosphere was broken by her cold words.
Jing Xiaoyan’s palms were hot. She stared intensely at Jiang Yumian, even the usually easygoing her was getting angry.
She stubbornly lifted the hem of Jiang Yumian’s shirt, determined to push her down.
Before she could press down, Jiang Yumian immediately said, “We have to go down for dinner later. There isn’t much time left, and we still have to sign autographs for Xiao Yao.”
After dinner, they still had to go soak in the hot springs.
Jing Xiaoyan gritted her teeth. If it weren’t for Xie Yunhuan, they would have already been soaking. They were about to eat, and then they would disperse. Why did it have to be so troublesome.
She let go of Jiang Yumian with a wronged look, lowering her head to smooth out her clothes, muttering, “It’s not that I don’t want to coax you, it’s reality that doesn’t allow it. You see, I really want to. My sincerity is witnessed by heaven and earth.”
Jiang Yumian scoffed inwardly. Speaking so righteously. She wondered who was the one so eager to pin her down.
She gently snorted, not exposing her. “Just wait until tonight.”
Jing Xiaoyan licked her lips, stared at Jiang Yumian’s red lips, and leaned in to kiss her again.
Jiang Yumian silently rolled her eyes inwardly.
See, she knew Jing Xiaoyan was completely fine. She kissed when she wanted to, and hugged when she wanted to. Only she was suffering by maintaining her pride.
Jing Xiaoyan had no idea what she was thinking.
In fact, Jiang Yumian was overthinking it. Although she was trying hard to maintain her composure, in Jing Xiaoyan’s eyes, she didn’t look angry at all, just a little bit spoiled. Jing Xiaoyan actually quite liked it, because Jiang Yumian was only like this with her.
But she still knew that Jiang Yumian’s little tantrum was because she hadn’t forgiven her.
Anyway, she wondered how frantic Jiang Yumian would be if she found out that Jing Xiaoyan thought this way.
Jing Xiaoyan took the postcards from the table and handed Jiang Yumian a pen. Su Yao was quite prepared, giving them two black pens and one red pen.
Jing Xiaoyan asked, “What’s the red pen for?”
Jiang Yumian took the other stack of postcards and said nonchalantly, “Idiot, it’s for you to draw hearts.”
Jing Xiaoyan muttered under her breath, “She’s really not polite at all, asking for three hundred hearts to be drawn.”
Which CP could be as good as them? They were probably the only couple in the world.
Jiang Yumian lowered her head to sign the postcard, smiling slightly, deliberately teasing her. “You can also choose not to draw hearts and write some thank you notes instead. One of the two.”
Jing Xiaoyan stopped being dramatic. “Hearts, hearts, hearts.”
After signing for an unknown period of time, Jiang Yumian took the stack Jing Xiaoyan had finished and signed her own name, and Jing Xiaoyan took hers. They were like emotionless signature machines, diligently signing their names.
They finally finished signing. Jiang Yumian threw down the pen and shook her hand. It didn’t actually take long to sign three hundred names. It was just the continuous writing that made her wrist sore.
As soon as she finished shaking her hand, she noticed the gaze beside her and froze. Jiang Yumian blinked. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Why did she seem to have a look of disdain?
Jing Xiaoyan’s gaze fell on Jiang Yumian’s hand. “You should practice more, for my sake.”
What did that mean?
Jiang Yumian thought what she said was inexplicable, and quickly noticed her gaze, following it to her own hand.
Jiang Yumian’s ears instantly turned red.
She furiously stretched out her foot and kicked Jing Xiaoyan, gritting her teeth. “Shut up! Everything you think about is related to that!”
Her mind was full of perverted thoughts!
Jing Xiaoyan was kicked and leaned to one side. She quickly sat back up and scooted closer to Jiang Yumian.
She was still itching for trouble and continued. “But I’m telling the truth. Your stamina isn’t as good as mine.”
“I wonder who was crying in my arms a while ago.” Jiang Yumian unceremoniously brought up the fact that she had made Jing Xiaoyan cry, since Jing Xiaoyan was the one who was shameless first.
Sure enough, the smile on Jing Xiaoyan’s face instantly froze.
Jiang Yumian didn’t let her off, deliberately provoking her. “You weren’t crying because you weren’t satisfied, were you? I should have known not to stop and comfort you.”
Jing Xiaoyan turned her head slowly, her eyes chilling. It was as if she could eat Jiang Yumian if she said one more word.
Seeing Jing Xiaoyan like this, Jiang Yumian secretly swallowed, having been too triumphant and forgetting how she had comforted Jing Xiaoyan that day.
She couldn’t be suppressed by Jing Xiaoyan’s aura. Jiang Yumian forced herself to speak calmly. “What’s with that expression? Are you worried about your reputation now?”
Jiang Yumian regretted it as soon as she said it. She was afraid Jing Xiaoyan would immediately throw her onto the bed and do it, and she was also afraid that Jing Xiaoyan would be so angry that she would cry.
She felt it wouldn’t be the second option. Jiang Yumian felt the possibility leaned more towards the first option, because Jing Xiaoyan was already touching her!
She was directly pressed onto the sofa, her shirt pulled up and covering her face, and her hands were forced to lift up.
Jiang Yumian anxiously licked her lips. “Jing Xiaoyan, you’re a sore loser!”
Jing Xiaoyan grunted. She was a sore loser. She lowered her head directly, pressing her lips against the skin on Jiang Yumian’s waist. The fair and smooth skin instantly trembled.
The phone rang at an inappropriate time. Jing Xiaoyan heard it, but didn’t move, licking lightly with the tip of her tongue.
Jiang Yumian’s body trembled violently. She couldn’t help but squirm. “Hmm… ticklish… the phone.”
Jing Xiaoyan looked up, quickly picked up the phone from the table, and then immediately hung up the call. She threw the phone aside and continued to kiss her.
Jiang Yumian helplessly massaged her forehead, her breathing slightly constrained. She bit her lips, quickly pulled down her shirt, and wrapped Jing Xiaoyan in her arms.
She would just let her kiss her for a while to vent her anger…
Her head was hugged and gently stroked twice. Probably knowing that Jiang Yumian was comforting her emotions, Jing Xiaoyan kissed her without any hesitation.
It seemed the main character of the anger had switched to her today. However, she didn’t dare to go too far, only daring to kiss her a few times.
Jiang Yumian was bitten. Her breathing hitched, and she shivered, tightening her arms around the person in her embrace.
Since they didn’t answer the phone, the door outside was quickly knocked. Jing Xiaoyan quickly crawled out of Jiang Yumian’s shirt, her face dark. She tidied her hair. This was the nth time she had been interrupted today. She was going to be furious.
Jiang Yumian sat up, tugging at her shirt, her eyes flashing. Next time, she wouldn’t wear loose clothing. She’d choke Jing Xiaoyan.
She kicked Jing Xiaoyan’s leg with her foot. “Hurry up and open the door.”
Jing Xiaoyan snorted softly, thought for a moment, and then suddenly rushed over and kissed her, getting up under Jiang Yumian’s bewildered gaze, and stomping towards the door aggressively.
