- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 65 - Chen Junsheng and Lu Ming Caught in a Feverish Kiss
Creak—
The door to the private room swung open. Lu Jingze stood there in a black trench coat, holding a plate of crab-roe pastries.
“Gege~ What a coincidence~ Are you having lunch here too?”
Lu Jingze blinked his eyes with mock innocence and set the plate down in front of Wang Xinghe. Initially, Lin Ya had been extremely irritated at being interrupted, but once he saw the newcomer clearly, the hair on the back of his neck stood up.
“The Crown Prince…”
It was his notorious title, and though Lu Jingze didn’t particularly like being called that, Lin Ya had blurted it out instinctively.
Xinghe massaged his forehead, feeling utterly speechless. However, he was well aware of Lu’s possessiveness and didn’t want to make Lin Ya feel more uncomfortable than he already was. He proactively took the lead: “Lin Ya, this is my college roommate.” Then, turning to Lin Ya: “This is Lu Jingze, a friend of mine.”
A friend? In all of Kyoto, who would dare call themselves a “friend” or “brother” to Lu Jingze?
Yet, Lu Jingze’s eyes curved into a sweet, crescent smile. “Mhm~ I am Xinghe-ge’s best friend~”
Lin Ya sucked in a sharp breath. Since when did Lu Jingze’s personality change like this? He vividly remembered a time when one of Ji Yuheng’s lackeys accidentally bumped into the “Prince,” and Lu had kicked the man so hard against a wall that he broke three ribs. With that kind of ruthlessness and mad-dog energy, no one dared to cross him. He had never acted like a “brother” to anyone in any social setting. Today, his demeanor was purely that of a dog wagging its tail, begging for a single smile from Xinghe. It was enough to give Lin Ya a minor heart attack.
“Ahem—Xinghe, let’s catch up another time. I just remembered I have a document at the office that needs signing.” Lin Ya stood up, grabbing his phone and car keys. He didn’t forget to nod toward Lu Jingze. “President Lu, I’ll take my leave now.”
“Sure. Let’s get together when you’re free,” Lu Jingze said, waving with a smile.
Lin Ya, terrified yet polite, smiled back. “It would be an honor.”
He hurried out, quietly closing the door behind him. Once in his car, it finally dawned on him: the reason his brother, Lin Xiu, hadn’t touched Wang Xinghe wasn’t out of kindness—it was because Lin Xiu didn’t want to provoke the person standing behind him. Unlike his brother, who held the reins of the family business, Lin Ya was just a wealthy second-generation heir living off dividends. He wouldn’t dare compare himself to someone like Lu Jingze, who held two-thirds of his family’s vast industrial power.
His brother might be able to exchange a few sharp words with Lu Jingze, but he certainly couldn’t. He slunk away in silence.
Back in the room, only Lu Jingze and Xinghe remained with the table of afternoon tea.
“Lu Jingze, you really don’t have to,” Xinghe began, wanting to tell him he didn’t need to keep such a tight watch. He didn’t like men—but he didn’t know how to express that anymore, especially considering his history with Lu. He only blamed himself for that one winter when he had a lapse in judgment and picked up this “great trouble” from the streets.
“Gege, you’re overthinking. I wasn’t spying on you. I was having lunch here too and happened to see you and this handsome guy walking into a private room together with such lovely smiles~” Lu Jingze wasn’t lying. He was here discussing a project. He had spotted Xinghe walking through the first floor while he was on a break and followed him up.
Lu Jingze’s long, slender fingers pinched a crab-roe pastry and held it out. “Try this, Gege. It’s delicious.”
Xinghe took it from his hand and took a bite. The fresh, savory, and crispy texture, combined with the salty aroma of butter, melted on his palate. Anything Lu Jingze praised as “good” was indeed top-tier. Xinghe looked at him helplessly.
Meanwhile, Wang Mingyue’s weight had dropped significantly. Under Xinghe’s nutritional guidance, she looked radiant and full of spirit. Since everyone was attending a wedding she couldn’t join, she decided to take a stroll at the mall to buy some shoes and socks for the baby.
She was driving and had planned to go to a supermarket near her house, but she hadn’t driven in a long time and missed her turn. She ended up at a larger mall near the University Town. Since it wasn’t the weekend, it wasn’t overly crowded.
After parking in the underground garage, she shouldered her large bag and stepped onto the escalator. A group of college couples were heading up for lunch; seeing she was pregnant, they politely surrounded her to create a small, safe space for her.
“That sister just now was so beautiful. If she’s this pretty while pregnant, imagine how she looks normally,” a voice drifted from behind as the elevator doors closed.
Mingyue’s heart skipped. It had been years since anyone had called her beautiful. Her cheeks flushed a deep red, all the way to her ears. She used to be sick of people complimenting her looks, but now…
She passed a women’s boutique, and the sales assistant greeted her warmly. “Wow, you are so stunning!” The girl looked to be in her early twenties, and the sparkle in her eyes seemed genuine, not like a sales tactic.
Under the assistant’s guidance, Mingyue picked out a loose-fitting dress. “Try this one, it will definitely suit you.”
It was a coffee-colored pure cotton dress with a high-waisted A-line cut that perfectly cleared her pregnant belly. Looking at herself in the mirror, Mingyue’s eyes brightened. It was truly beautiful. The dress complemented her well, and her complexion looked healthy. A flicker of light finally returned to her eyes.
“I’ll take it. Wrap up my old clothes.” She paid 867 yuan—not expensive compared to the designer brands she used to wear, but she truly loved it.
Next, she went to a maternity store and bought some cotton clothes, swaddles, and baby bottles. She stroked her belly with a gentle gaze. As the baby grew, the pressure on her bladder increased, and she felt the urge to use the restroom.
“Can I leave my bags here for a moment? I’ll be right back,” she asked the clerk.
“Of course.”
Mingyue stepped out of the shop to find a restroom. The second-floor facilities were packed, so she took the escalator to the third floor. As she walked toward the restroom sign, her sharp eyes caught two familiar figures from behind: Chen Junsheng and Lu Ming.
Her brow furrowed. “Why is Lu Ming here again?”
She followed them quietly. On the third floor, there was a café next to a large event space used for mall promotions. The area was surrounded by tall greenery and leather seating. She saw Lu Ming intimately hooking his arm into Chen Junsheng’s as they walked toward a leather sofa.
They seemed afraid of being seen, choosing a double-seater sofa that faced the glass windows, with a high back that hid them from the rest of the floor.
At that moment, Mingyue’s mind went blank. She stopped thinking. Even a fool would realize something was wrong. Her heart hammered against her ribs like a drum; her legs felt as heavy as lead.
Step by step, she walked toward the high-backed sofa that blocked her view. As she rounded the corner, she was met with the sight of Chen Junsheng and Lu Ming locked in a feverish, passionate kiss.
Stomach acid churned in her throat. Everything went black.
Wang Mingyue collapsed right in front of Chen Junsheng’s eyes.
