- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 60 - Chen Junsheng, Aren't You Disgusted By Having a Beard Wife?
Wang Xinghe arrived at the company, shedding his usual reserve. Today, he was somewhat cold and distant.
He headed straight for Chen Junsheng’s office.
As soon as he entered, he clack-ed the lock on the office door.
Chen Junsheng had just arrived at the company and had just booted up his computer.
He was momentarily stunned to see Wang Xinghe standing before him.
“Xinghe…”
Wang Xinghe didn’t listen to his nonsense; instead, he handed over his resignation: “I can’t do the live streams anymore.”
Chen Junsheng’s heart leaped: “Xinghe, weren’t things going well? Why suddenly…”
“Chen Junsheng, aren’t you disgusted by having a beard wife?” Wang Xinghe gave him no regard whatsoever.
He exposed him immediately!
Chen Junsheng was left speechless: “I’m sorry…”
But he didn’t feel he was entirely at fault and tried to defend himself: “I have always been very caring and attentive towards your sister. Aside from my sexual orientation, I haven’t wronged her in any way. We can’t let this minor issue…”
Wang Xinghe picked up the water cup nearby and smashed it at him.
“Bang—”
The glass cup shattered the computer, making a tremendous noise.
Chen Junsheng’s cheek was sliced by the glass fragments, and blood ran down his face.
“My sister, Wang Mingyue, the former campus beauty of Peking University’s literature department, is now being tortured by you into this unrecognizable state. And you still have the audacity to say you haven’t wronged her in any way?!”
“There are no such things as crazy women in this world; they are all driven mad by men like you!”
“If you genuinely love someone, how could you bear to see her become like that?!”
“Chen Junsheng, karma will catch up to you!”
Wang Xinghe turned and stormed out of the office.
Chen Junsheng, left alone with nowhere to vent his anger, his eyes flashed with suppressed resentment: “If it weren’t for the Crown Prince backing you, who do you think you are?”
“Wang Mingyue, with her peasant background, should thank her lucky stars for marrying me. She really thinks she belongs to the wealthy elite now.”
Lu Wang had taken two hours of leave today. Just as he entered the company, he saw Wang Xinghe striding angrily out.
“Oh, Xinghe, good morning. Where are you off to?” Lu Wang greeted him.
Wang Xinghe looked at the smiling, clear-faced Lu Wang and closed his eyes briefly: “Brother Wang, are you free?”
“Huh? Yes, I am,” Lu Wang nodded.
“Come on, let’s go out and talk.” Wang Xinghe walked quickly ahead.
The automatic door opened.
Lu Wang followed behind, completely confused.
In the coffee shop, which was mostly empty during working hours.
Wang Xinghe looked at Lu Wang.
He couldn’t speak for a long time because he was thinking of his own sister.
Everything was currently being kept from her.
If Lu Wang knew about his brother and Chen Junsheng, would he cause a major scene?
That would be bad for his sister’s pregnancy.
It would also affect Lu Wang’s impending marriage.
Moreover, Lu Wang’s future wife was innocent. If Lu Wang’s marriage were affected by his brother’s affairs, it would be a major disaster that Wang Xinghe did not wish to see.
I’ll endure it a little longer.
Wang Xinghe closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, he apologized: “Brother Wang, thank you for taking care of me at the company these past few days.”
Lu Wang instinctively waved his hand: “It’s nothing. What’s wrong? You look so serious; it’s a bit scary.”
“Nothing, just that I have some personal matters and I’m resigning. I won’t be coming to the company anymore,” Wang Xinghe admitted.
Lu Wang was surprised: “Ah? Weren’t things going well? Why suddenly…”
“No reason, just personal matters. But I’ll still be staying in the capital. If I’m here in May, I’ll definitely be your groomsman.” Wang Xinghe stood up.
“I’ll treat you to a meal another day.”
Lu Wang watched Wang Xinghe’s retreating back, completely confused.
He wandered back to the company, and before he reached the third floor, he was pulled aside by Li Li.
“Xinghe had a huge argument with CEO Chen and even smashed the computer! Xinghe is such a gentle man; what could have driven him to this?” Li Li whispered.
Lu Wang was even more bewildered: “Xinghe argued? How is that possible…”
The first time he met Xinghe, he thought he was a very good-natured person. He found it hard to imagine the scene of Xinghe arguing with someone.
But the fact was that Wang Xinghe had a huge fight with Chen Junsheng and smashed Chen Junsheng’s computer and water cup.
“CEO Chen is coming…” Someone said, and everyone scattered like birds.
Only Lu Wang, who hadn’t fully grasped the situation, was left.
Chen Junsheng adjusted his glasses and waved to Lu Wang: “Lu Wang, come here for a moment.”
Lu Wang’s feet moved faster than his brain, and he walked into Chen Junsheng’s office.
The office computer was indeed broken, and the glass shards had been cleaned up and piled in the trash bin.
“Did Xinghe look for you? Did he say anything?” Chen Junsheng asked casually while pouring water.
Lu Wang scratched his head: “He just thanked me for taking care of him and said he was resigning. What happened to him?”
Seeing Lu Wang’s reaction, Chen Junsheng knew that Wang Xinghe hadn’t said anything.
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief: “What else could it be? His sister probably complained again that I’m too busy and not home enough, using him as a pawn.”
Lu Wang looked at Chen Junsheng: “I don’t think so. Xinghe doesn’t seem like someone who lacks common sense.”
“Don’t let his quiet demeanor fool you. He might be what the kids nowadays call ‘socially anxious,’ but he’s very thoughtful. He’s not the type to cause a scene just because someone told him to.”
Chen Junsheng sighed: “His relationship with his sister is very close; perhaps she was just worried and acted rashly.”
Lu Wang nodded and casually added: “That’s true. If my younger brother told me something, I probably wouldn’t think about right or wrong either; I’d just take action.”
Chen Junsheng, though not the intended recipient of the comment, paid attention.
A brilliant plan formed in his mind.
His expression subtly shifted: “Aren’t you getting married soon? You don’t need to report to work anymore; prioritize your wedding preparations. If you need money, just tell me. I’ll approve it. Consider it a small token of goodwill from me, as your older brother.”
Lu Wang’s face broke into a wide smile, and he quickly put the matter of Wang Xinghe out of his mind.
“Thank you, Brother Chen. I actually do need a bit more money to buy the ‘five golds’ (wedding jewelry). The price of gold has soared, and my budget is a bit tight.”
Lu Wang was a straightforward person and wouldn’t pretend to be wealthy. Moreover, he felt that since Chen Junsheng offered, he was genuinely trying to help him.
“It’s a small matter. I’ll personally transfer you one hundred thousand kuai. Consider it my wedding gift, so I can arrive empty-handed on your wedding day.” Chen Junsheng said, pulling out his phone and transferring one hundred thousand to Lu Wang via instant payment app.
“Instant payment deposit of one hundred thousand kuai,” the sound of the payment notification rang out.
Lu Wang was ecstatic: “Thank you, Brother Chen!”
“Don’t mention it. Go get busy. I’m going to the art academy again this afternoon.”
Wang Xinghe returned to the apartment.
The first thing he saw was two large suitcases.
Lu Jingze walked up and took the backpack from his hand: “Xinghe, I bought a split-level apartment in the complex across the street from your sister. I think it would be more appropriate for you to personally look after Sister Mingyue.”
Lu Jingze’s idea perfectly matched his own. He also thought so; he didn’t trust Chen Junsheng at all now.
The reason he dared to confront Chen Junsheng today was partly due to his impulse.
On the other hand, he simply couldn’t pretend to be calm and bury his head in the sand.
That was his older sister, his role model since childhood. How could he let her be ruined in Chen Junsheng’s hands!
