- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 50 - I Wish for Forever, With You
“Xinghe Ge, we’ve arrived. Wake up.” Lu Jingze lightly kissed his forehead and then gently nudged him.
Wang Xinghe groggily opened his eyes and struggled to sit up. He felt a warmth envelop him; it was a plush shawl Lu Jingze had draped over him.
“This is a private airstrip. We still need to drive to the Tromsø sledding camp.”
“It’s 8:00 AM now. Let’s rest up, grab a bite on the way, take a dog sled ride around 2:00 PM, and then try our luck for the Aurora Borealis tonight.”
After Lu Jingze finished his monologue, Wang Xinghe was fully awake.
“Alright,” he sighed. Since he was already here, what else could he say?
“Xinghe Ge, should I help you get dressed?” Lu Jingze blinked, his phoenix eyes full of expectation.
Wang Xinghe pretended not to see the sparkling expectation in his eyes and pushed him away. “I can do it myself.”
“Oh~”
Lu Jingze sadly handed him a pure wool sweater in a warm coffee color.
“Wear this as the base layer. It’s a bit cold here.”
Wang Xinghe took it. It was incredibly soft to the touch, and he put it on.
“Wear a pair of fleece-lined trousers, then these trekking pants, and the specially made non-slip, thick-soled boots,” Lu Jingze took out the gear one by one.
Wang Xinghe had never been here and didn’t blindly refuse. If he caused Lu Jingze extra trouble, he would feel burdened.
After getting fully geared up, just before heading out, Lu Jingze took a black, calf-length Moncler down jacket from the hanger.
He helped Wang Xinghe put it on, then took out earmuffs, a hat, and a scarf-hood from a small cabinet and handed them over.
Lu Jingze put on a similar jacket, one size larger than Wang Xinghe’s.
“Keep these with you. They are essential once we reach the sledding camp.”
As Lu Jingze and Wang Xinghe stepped off the plane, the rear door of a black Land Rover Range Rover parked next to the airstrip opened.
Lu Jingze pulled Wang Xinghe and sat inside.
The driver was Chinese and respectfully greeted Lu Jingze. “CEO Lu, I will be serving the two of you for the rest of the journey.”
“Mhm. Let’s go eat first. I’ll take you to a good restaurant.”
The restaurant was Fiskekompaniet, a slightly upscale local seafood restaurant in Norway.
Communication was possible in Norwegian, French, and English.
If they were lucky and met Chinese tourists, they could also communicate in Mandarin.
The waiter was very enthusiastic. Lu Jingze was fluent in French and English, so communication was seamless.
Sitting by the window at Fiskekompaniet, Lu Jingze pushed the English menu toward Wang Xinghe.
Since Wang Xinghe had passed the CET-6 English exam, the words weren’t too difficult for him.
seafood platter (€180) Salmon Tartare (€130) brioche (€20) Emperor crab sashimi (€260) … Chardonnay (€320) …
Wang Xinghe looked at the prices, which were in Euros.
Converted using the exchange rate, 100 Euros was nearly 800 RMB.
A casual order could easily cost tens of thousands of RMB.
The only cheap item he saw on the menu was the buttered bread.
He was very awkward.
Lu Jingze was too sharp not to notice that Wang Xinghe was worried about the cost.
He signaled the waiter and ordered four dishes. Following the waiter’s recommendation, they paired the meal with Chardonnay white wine.
Lu Jingze gave the waiter a 10 Euro tip, and the waiter gave him a thumbs-up.
“Wishing you a pleasant time playing.”
Lu Jingze smiled slightly. “Thank you, you too.”
The dishes arrived quickly: a seafood sashimi platter, Emperor crab, salmon tartare, and Bolognese pasta.
Dessert was Tiramisu.
The entire meal was fine, though Wang Xinghe still preferred domestic flavors.
After lunch, the two went to the Tromsø Sledding Camp.
Wang Xinghe took a deep breath, looking at the endless snow and the dog sled team.
The icy cold air rushed through his nostrils, and Wang Xinghe sniffled.
Suddenly, he felt warmth on his ear tips. Wang Xinghe turned around, and it was Lu Jingze putting earmuffs on him from behind.
Meeting Lu Jingze’s smiling eyes, Wang Xinghe’s heart skipped a beat, against his better judgment.
This guy really does match his aesthetic perfectly.
Sometimes, his rationality told him not to indulge in gentleness that shouldn’t exist.
But time and time again, he found it difficult to refuse him.
“Xinghe Ge, smile for me~” Lu Jingze took out his phone, pointing the camera at him.
Wang Xinghe was completely masked, with only his eyes showing. Even if he smiled, his face wouldn’t be visible in the photo.
“Click—” Lu Jingze chuckled, looking at the photo.
“You’re a natural~ So good-looking~” Lu Jingze immediately set Wang Xinghe as his screen saver.
Wang Xinghe, riding a dog sled for the first time, was genuinely happy. The feeling of being pulled by a pack of dogs was like a rollercoaster on land.
“Ooh-hoo~~~”
“Wahoo~~~”
“Hahahaha~~”
Aside from dog sledding, the most unique feature of Northern Norway was the reindeer sleigh.
The snow-covered mountains and scenery blended together. The pink afterglow of the sunset looked like a painted scroll. Wang Xinghe and Lu Jingze sat in the sleigh, slowly moving across the snow, pulled by the reindeer.
After having fun for a few laps, the sun set, and night was approaching.
For safety, they did not camp alone in remote areas.
Instead, they stayed in a glass cabin with a panoramic ceiling.
Wang Xinghe lay on the bed, looking out the window. Apart from a few bright stars, he hadn’t seen the Aurora yet.
They say the beauty of the Aurora is unforgettable, but it’s not something you’re lucky enough to see every day.
“Don’t worry, Xinghe Ge. If we don’t see it today, we’ll stay for a few more days. I don’t believe we can stay for a month and not see it once!” Lu Jingze gently stroked the stray hairs near Wang Xinghe’s temple, comforting him in a soft, tender voice.
Wang Xinghe looked at the starry sky with a feeling of melancholy. Lu Jingze really understood him better and better.
He didn’t even need to speak, and Lu Jingze knew what he was thinking and what he was worried about.
“It’s coming! Look, Xinghe Ge! The green Aurora! Come on, let’s go up to the roof!”
Lu Jingze grabbed the down jacket for Wang Xinghe to put on, and the two hurried up to the roof.
“Wow~”
“Oh my gosh~”
Sounds of wonder arose, all completely awestruck by the Aurora in front of them.
Many foreign couples nearby had already finished taking pictures and were now embracing and kissing.
The scene made Wang Xinghe feel warm all over.
Lu Jingze knew Wang Xinghe was shy and wouldn’t make bold moves in public.
But looking at Wang Xinghe’s stunning profile, immersed in the wonder of the Aurora,
Lu Jingze’s eyes were also stained with tenderness.
Wang Xinghe felt his left hand interlaced with a large palm.
He didn’t even need to turn his head to know who it was.
He didn’t want to spoil the moment and let Lu Jingze hold his knuckles. He lightly curled his fingers, but didn’t return the squeeze.
Another five minutes passed, and the brilliance of the Aurora was mesmerizing.
Lu Jingze’s warm breath enveloped him from behind.
His pleasant voice sounded in Wang Xinghe’s ear.
“Xinghe Ge, we’re so lucky~”
“I wish for us to be together forever, whether that’s your forever or my forever.”
