- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 107 - The Wedding
The wedding of Lu Jingze and Wang Xinghe was an event of unparalleled grandeur.
The entire Lu clan was present, joined by influential figures from both home and abroad. Now, the well-wishes were genuine—everyone truly prayed for this couple to grow old together and for Wang Xinghe to remain safe and sound.
They knew all too well that as long as Wang Xinghe was there, this “Crown Prince” was more merciful than any deity. But if Xinghe were ever gone, Lu Jingze would become a Rakshasa from the depths of hell. It validated the promise made long ago: Wang Xinghe truly stood upon Lu Jingze’s shoulders. In Kyoto, everyone understood that crossing Lu Jingze might not kill you, but crossing Wang Xinghe meant there would be nothing left of you to bury. “Mr. Wang” had become a synonym for a power even more terrifying than “Master Lu.”
Hand in hand, dressed in their matching white suits embroidered with the silver Jian birds, Wang Xinghe and Lu Jingze walked out into the massive venue. There were no exaggerated performances or flowery speeches. Like any ordinary couple, they completed the rites witnessed by Heaven, Earth, their relatives, and their friends.
Wang Xinghe’s Great-Uncle sat in the seat of honor representing the Wang family. Having never seen so many powerful figures in his life, his hand trembled as he held his tea, but he did his best not to lose face. Old Master Lu, sitting in the Lu family’s seat of honor, was the picture of kindness, chatting amiably with the Great-Uncle. They eventually got onto the topic of the Great-Uncle’s time in the military. As they spoke of old battles and hot-blooded youth, the Great-Uncle’s nerves finally settled.
Old Master Lu smiled and shifted the conversation. “Your generation made great contributions, laying the bricks and mortar for the New China.”
The Great-Uncle’s wrinkled face held a sharp, determined smile. “Wherever the country pointed, we fought! We serve the people!” That was the spirit of an old Party member and a veteran. He spent the rest of the ceremony smiling proudly at Wang Xinghe. This child has suffered so much; I’ve done all I can, and thank goodness everything turned out for the best. Xinghe has found a good home. He could finally give a peaceful account to his late brother and sister-in-law.
“What a joyous occasion, celebrating this auspicious hour, joining two families into one…
…Declaring a vow that lasts until our hair turns white, sharing the same dreams, filling the house with harmony. The light of inner virtue shines like stone, witnessing a destiny forged across three lifetimes.”
Little Xiaoyang, dressed in a tiny suit and leading a well-behaved Dahuang (the yellow dog), walked onto the stage toward the two men in white. He presented the wedding rings. The rings, featuring the Jian bird design, were crafted by a famous elderly couple known for their lifelong devotion. Inside the bands, their initials were engraved: WXH & LJZ.
“I wish my two daddies a hundred years of harmony, eternal union, and peace and joy!~” Xiaoyang said confidently, not shy at all.
“Woof! Woof!~” Dahuang barked twice, as if offering his own blessing.
“Brother, will you marry me?” Lu Jingze knelt on one knee, holding the ring meant for Wang Xinghe.
“I will,” Wang Xinghe replied, gazing at him tenderly as he extended his hand.
Lu Jingze slid the ring onto Xinghe’s finger. Then, Wang Xinghe took the ring meant for Lu Jingze and also knelt on one knee. “Then, will A-Ze marry me?”
Lu Jingze nodded. “There is no one in this world more desperate to marry you than me.”
Wang Xinghe chuckled and placed the ring on his finger.
The following reception was a free-flowing gala. Because of the Crown Prince, titans of industry gathered; those who were strangers found opportunities to network, while acquaintances chatted.
Among the crowd, those most moved—besides Zhao Yan and Wang Mingyue—was Wang Shuya. She wiped away tears while snapping photos. This is wonderful. My Little Uncle is truly happy.
“Miss, the hem of your dress is a bit dirty. Would you like me to help you clean it?” A waiter named Li Kuo approached Wang Shuya.
Shuya looked up to see a tall, handsome man, but she had a boyfriend now. No matter how handsome the stranger was, she only gave him a brief glance and a polite smile. “No thank you, I can handle it myself.”
Li Kuo was puzzled. He had clearly seen the spark of admiration for his looks in her eyes just a moment ago, yet she had rejected him so politely. This was an unfamiliar feeling for Li Kuo, who usually relied on his face to infiltrate high-society circles. He recovered quickly, smiling politely. “Understood.”
In his heart, he was already planning the next “accidental encounter.” He had researched thoroughly and knew Wang Xinghe treated Wang Shuya very well. If he could… a dark glint flashed in his eyes. He spent the rest of the night looking for a chance to get close to her, but Shuya was glued to her phone, chatting with someone and smiling constantly. She never gave him another look.
After the wedding, Lu Jingze transferred all his private personal assets to Wang Xinghe. As for the Lu Group industries, Lu Jingze remained rational—he was the manager and the captain of this generation, but the conglomerate belonged to the legacy of the Lu clan across several generations; he couldn’t privatize it. Wang Xinghe, of course, didn’t want it anyway.
Spring of the third year.
Wang Xinghe, Lu Jingze, and Wang Mingyue took the children back to their hometown to pay respects to their ancestors. Lu Jingze funded the renovation of the village cemetery and invested in several factories in the nearby processing zone to increase local employment. He optimized benefits for the village’s elderly and children and established a scholarship fund that awarded between 100,000 and 500,000 yuan to any student who got into university.
When Wang Xinghe proposed entering Lu Jingze’s name into the Wang family register, he expected resistance from the elders. To his surprise, they were more than eager to start a new page just for him. This is a powerful figure! Who cares about gender at a time like this? With Xinghe and Lu Jingze in their lineage, their descendants would bask in the reflected glory for years to come.
Inside the Wang Ancestral Hall, the Clan Chief sat on a wooden chair, watching the two young men kneeling on prayer mats. Wang Xinghe smiled gently, holding three sticks of incense.
“Descendant Wang Xinghe, accompanied by his husband Lu Jingze, pays respects to the ancestors.”
“Descendant Lu Jingze, together with his husband Wang Xinghe, pays respects to the ancestors.”
After the triple kowtow, they placed the incense in the burner. The eldest member of the clan took a brush and, in the main register of the ancestors, wrote Lu Jingze in the entry for Wang Xinghe’s spouse.
“A-Ze,” Wang Xinghe said, holding his hand tightly as they walked through the village later. “From now on, no matter how many generations pass or how much time flows by, people will remember that we once belonged to each other.”
They looked at the old noodle shop, which had since been rented out. The alleyway nearby remained unchanged, as did the seaside.
The ocean waves surged with power as the two of them held hands, looking as though they intended to walk together until the very end of the world.
