Can't Possibly Fall for My Wife Again After Rebirth, Right? - Chapter 59
Because both of her hands were tucked into Xu Yingran’s pockets, Fu Qiao naturally ended up leaning much closer to her.
When Xu Yingran looked up, her eyes met Fu Qiao’s directly. Being caught in Xu Yingran’s gaze so unexpectedly made Fu Qiao’s face turn red instantly. She looked away uncomfortably, her hands struggling in Xu Yingran’s pockets as she tried to pull them out.
“What are you doing?” Fu Qiao’s face was beet red and she didn’t dare look at her, her voice muffled. “This is a public place. What if someone sees us?”
Xu Yingran pretended to look around before laughing softly. “Aside from us, who else is around here?”
Even if there were people, so what? Who was she bothering by warming her wife’s hands?
Fu Qiao tried to pull away uncomfortably, but Xu Yingran interlocked their fingers and gripped tighter.
“You… let go of me…”
“No. I finally got them warm.”
Xu Yingran saw that the tips of Fu Qiao’s ears were completely red. She leaned in with a beaming smile, as if she were about to take her into her arms, and whispered in her ear, “Fu Qiao, when do you plan to give me a formal status?”
Fu Qiao looked up in confusion. “What status?”
“The status of a girlfriend,” Xu Yingran said frankly. “You know I like you, and haven’t we already kissed? Me coming to see you every other day is basically no different from dating, right?”
Xu Yingran asked her, “So, can I be your girlfriend now?”
Fu Qiao’s face was now completely flushed. She stammered, “Wh-what nonsense are you talking about? Since when was I dating you?”
Xu Yingran replied, “It’s because we aren’t that I’m asking.”
“I…”
“The time we kissed in the alley—you aren’t planning on backing out of that debt, are you?” Xu Yingran tilted her head to look at the downcast Fu Qiao and asked with a smile, “What do you think?”
What did she think? She thought it wouldn’t do!
Fu Qiao looked at Xu Yingran and said, “Didn’t we agree to just be friends? You like big beauties with fiery figures and I’m not one. Why do you keep saying you like me? People will misunderstand.”
Xu Yingran frowned slightly. “Why bring up big beauties again? The one I like is you. What does it have to do with anyone else?”
Fu Qiao wanted to say more, but Xu Yingran didn’t want to hear it. She watched Fu Qiao’s lips opening and closing; whatever Fu Qiao said went in one ear and out the other. Once Fu Qiao finished, Xu Yingran asked in a low voice, “Are you done?”
Fu Qiao froze and nodded.
“Then open your mouth.”
“Huh?”
The next second, Xu Yingran leaned in and captured Fu Qiao’s lips.
Fu Qiao was startled and instinctively tried to struggle, but Xu Yingran pulled one hand out to wrap around her waist, pressing Fu Qiao directly into her embrace.
“Mgh… mmm…”
Xu Yingran’s tongue moved nimbly within Fu Qiao’s mouth. She licked Fu Qiao’s lips and hooked around the other’s fleeing tongue. The moist, tender kiss was like a wind surging from all directions, leaving Fu Qiao completely dazed.
Fu Qiao closed her eyes in fright, but this only made the sensation of the kiss more pronounced. She could feel the scent on Xu Yingran, her hurried breathing, and the passionate kiss.
Though she didn’t want to admit it, Fu Qiao truly felt herself becoming lost in Xu Yingran’s kiss. From her initial whimpers to her body finally turning as soft as if she had no bones, a tingling sensation from her spine shot to the top of her head, making her feel uninhibited and refreshed.
So, this is what it feels like to kiss someone?
Fu Qiao’s heart raced behind her closed eyes. She even found herself involuntarily clutching Xu Yingran’s school jacket, obediently parting her lips to allow the other to explore deeper. It felt as if their breaths were melting together, and she even wanted to do something more intimate…
Fu Qiao, having never been in a relationship, was no match for Xu Yingran. After they had kissed for a while, Fu Qiao became completely soft and pliable. Without Xu Yingran even needing to restrain her, Fu Qiao was already sensibly responding to her.
My wife is so cute!
After ending the kiss, Xu Yingran rested her forehead against Fu Qiao’s and couldn’t help but ask with a smile, “Do you like it?”
Fu Qiao’s breathing was hurried, and her lips had been sucked a bright red. Her head was so dizzy right now she hadn’t even heard what Xu Yingran asked. The night that had originally felt cold seemed to have turned fiery; Xu Yingran could even feel Fu Qiao’s palms sweating.
With her swollen red lips, flushed eyes, and a layer of mist in her gaze, Fu Qiao was beautiful beyond words. It had been a long time since Xu Yingran had seen Fu Qiao like this. Her heart itched intensely; she wanted to take her to a hotel immediately, strip off her clothes, listen to her pained and labored moans, and leave her mark on Fu Qiao inside and out.
Fu Qiao’s first friend was her, her first kiss was her—then when they got into bed later, it should also be her. She wanted Fu Qiao to belong solely to her from beginning to end; no one else should even think of touching her.
Meanwhile, Fu Qiao, who was slowly calming down, had no idea what Xu Yingran was thinking. She just pushed the person away in annoyance, using the back of her hand to wipe the moisture from the corner of her mouth. The thought that they had kissed again made her feel all out of sorts.
How did this person succeed again? And even if she succeeded, how could Fu Qiao feel that the kiss was so comfortable? Fu Qiao was extremely vexed.
Seeing that Fu Qiao’s face was about to explode from the blush, Xu Yingran leaned down and said to her, “Alright, don’t be like that. You’re making it feel like I committed a crime.”
Fu Qiao shot her a fierce glare.
Xu Yingran gave a somewhat awkward smile and carefully took Fu Qiao’s hand, saying, “I… I really couldn’t help it just now. I’ve wanted to kiss you for a long time.”
The words were spoken both frankly and ambiguously, making Fu Qiao feel hot all over. She didn’t want to deal with her and turned to leave, but Xu Yingran was quick to pull her back and wrap her in a tight hug. “Fu Qiao, Fu Qiao, I know you’re angry, but don’t be angry yet.”
“If you don’t like me kissing you, I’ll ask you first from now on. I’ll only kiss you if you agree, okay?”
Xu Yingran added, “Regarding the matter of status, I really do like you. Even if you don’t agree right now, just don’t consider anyone else, okay?”
Fu Qiao buried her face in Xu Yingran’s shoulder, paused, and then said, “Let go first.”
Xu Yingran obediently let go. Fu Qiao took two steps back and said, “I’ll say the same thing—it’s good for us to just be friends.”
“But have you ever seen friends who kiss?”
Fu Qiao was so angry she wanted to hit someone. “I haven’t even asked you yet—why are you so skillful at kissing? Have you kissed other people before!”
Xu Yingran was terrified and hurriedly explained, “You can’t talk nonsense like that. I’ve only ever kissed you. I guarantee I’m perfectly clean.”
Fu Qiao’s face turned red again and she snapped, “I don’t believe you!”
After saying that, she jumped in frustration and told her, “Don’t talk to me, I don’t want to hear it!”
“Fu Qiao…”
“I’m going home.”
Fu Qiao didn’t bother with her and turned to leave the bus stop. Just as Xu Yingran was about to chase after her, the last bus arrived. She anxiously hugged the bus stop sign and shouted at Fu Qiao, “Then be careful on your way back! I… I’ll come see you again in two days!”
Hearing this, Fu Qiao turned back and shouted, “Don’t come! Even if you come, I won’t see you!”
Watching Fu Qiao turn and run away quickly, Xu Yingran let out a helpless sigh. Her wife was angry again.
Although Fu Qiao told her not to come, Xu Yingran still showed up two days later. She waited at the gate until nearly 10:30 before Fu Qiao finally wandered out. The two only shared a brief meeting before Xu Yingran had to leave again. She finally understood: you can offend anyone, but you must never offend your wife.
After spending a cozy Saturday with Fu Qiao, Xu Yingran followed the location Yao Jin sent her on Sunday. She arrived at an office building and walked inside.
Yao Jin was already inside playing with her phone. After finishing a round of her game, she looked up at Xu Yingran and said, “What were you doing? Why so late?”
“How is it late?” Xu Yingran was shocked. “I arrived 15 minutes earlier than the time we agreed on, okay? It’s because you were busy playing your game that time was wasted. How can you blame me?”
Yao Jin arched her eyebrows and said to Xu Yingran, “Is that how you talk to your ‘benefactor’? Watch your attitude; you’re the one asking me for a favor today.”
Xu Yingran pursed her lips but still followed dutifully behind Yao Jin as they walked into the building.
Once in the elevator, Xu Yingran asked, “A-Jin, doesn’t your dad rest on weekends? Why didn’t he arrange for me to meet him at home instead of at the company?”
Yao Jin replied, “How should I know? He said to come, so we came.”
With a “ding,” the elevator doors opened to reveal a massive office. According to Yao Jin, the entire building was owned by her family; this floor was just for administration and the President’s office.
Xu Yingran knew Yao Jin’s family was wealthy and powerful, but she had never been to their company before. In her previous life, because of the lawsuit, the market value had evaporated and Xu Yingran only saw the enterprise after its downfall. Seeing it like this was truly a first. Calculated carefully, this should be the peak period for the Yao family. They were indeed wealthy and influential.
There weren’t many people in the company on the weekend, only a few people working overtime. They didn’t say anything when they saw Yao Jin leading someone in, either because they didn’t recognize them or they didn’t care.
In front of the large glass doors of the President’s office, Xu Yingran met Yao Jin’s father. He was a middle-aged man in his 40s, wearing a navy blue suit and a white shirt with a thin-striped burgundy tie. His hair was slicked back, and his expression looked a bit stern. However, his features were quite similar to Yao Jin’s, especially the eyebrows and eyes; it was obvious they were father and daughter.
Seeing his daughter lead a girl in, Yao Heng looked over with eyes that carried a hint of wrinkles and said with a smile, “Xu Yingran, right?”
“Hello, Uncle,” Xu Yingran said politely. “I am Xu Yingran, Yao Jin’s classmate.”
“Sit. What would you like to drink? I’ll have the secretary pour it for you.” Yao Heng stood up and walked to the water bar. “I have juice and Coke here; I don’t know what you kids like to drink.”
“Anything is fine, Uncle.”
“I want juice, Dad.”
“Alright.”
Yao Heng eventually brought over two glasses of juice and placed them on the coffee table. He glanced at Xu Yingran before saying with a smile, “A-Jin has told me a lot about you. She’s never had many friends since she was little, so it made me very curious. I finally get to meet the person today.”
Xu Yingran smiled. “A-Jin is also my friend; our relationship is very good.”
Yao Jin, holding her juice, listened to them chatter and said helplessly, “Aren’t you two supposed to talk about work? Hurry up and speak. After you’re done, I want to go out and have Malatang with Xu Yingran.”
Yao Heng chuckled helplessly at her words before looking at Xu Yingran. “Calling you here today… there are indeed some things I’d like to ask you about.”
