Bullying The Sister-In-Law - Chapter 3.2
After about three or four minutes, Su Zhiluo went back into the bedroom. The plate in Liu Chengxu’s hand dropped into the sink. Thankfully, the sink was full of water, or the bowl would have broken.
Liu Chengxu retrieved the plate. What would happen if she was discovered? Would Su Zhiluo kick her out of the house?
Su Zhiluo sometimes kept her at a distance. Of course, this was not because she was cold, but because she was pragmatic. She believed that Liu Chengxu would leave eventually, like a migratory bird that found a nest when it was cold and flew away when it was warm.
In the morning, Su Zhiluo wanted to take Liu Chengxu out to buy a couple of outfits. Liu Chengxu said she didn’t want to go out, feeling tired, and she still had to work in the evening. She lay sprawled on the bed.
Su Zhiluo thought that was true. After finally coming back, walking around would make her feet sore, and she wouldn’t have to work in the evening. She fiddled with her phone. A weak Wi-Fi signal was drifting from somewhere in the building. She didn’t know whose it was, and she usually hadn’t seen anyone install Wi-Fi. Su Zhiluo connected. The speed was decent, so she put on a movie.
Liu Chengxu watched it next to her.
At first, she didn’t move, but later she rested her head on Su Zhiluo’s arm. Su Zhiluo wanted to move it away, but Liu Chengxu was pressing down quite heavily. Liu Chengxu said, “Sister-in-law, I really think you smell good.”
“It’s the shower gel,” Su Zhiluo said. “I took a shower this morning.”
“The weather isn’t hot now. Why did you shower in the morning?”
Su Zhiluo didn’t answer her. The bed was small. A slight movement could kick Liu Chengxu off. Su Zhiluo didn’t move. Liu Chengxu wasn’t deliberately moving closer to her, but because the bed was narrow, she was practically pressing against Su Zhiluo’s chest.
In the autumn, her body felt dry and hot. Her period had just ended, and it was the peak of her desire. Su Zhiluo would have a slight reaction, but this feeling was something she couldn’t mention; she could only hide it.
Su Zhiluo had a dream yesterday. She and Liu Jinhuan were kissing. Liu Jinhuan’s lips and tongue were very soft, and the kissing was very clumsy.
She almost didn’t dare to wake up; afraid the dream would disappear. She let those lips suck at the tip of her tongue, only opening her mouth to let her kiss, suppressing the urge to respond. When she woke up, her body also had a reaction. In the morning, she wiped herself with a tissue twice. Before she had a chance to take it out and throw it away, Liu Chengxu picked it up…
It was too awkward.
Su Zhiluo was still very restrained and wouldn’t let Liu Chengxu see any clues. Lying next to her was her sister-in-law. She couldn’t let her know that she was a moist forest at the moment.
“Sister-in-law.” Liu Chengxu propped her head on her hand. She was slightly taller than Su Zhiluo and seemed to be encircling Su Zhiluo in her arms. “The fragrance is coming from there.”
Su Zhiluo held her emotions in check. “Where?”
Liu Chengxu pointed to her chest. “Your collarbone.”
Su Zhiluo’s collarbones were very beautiful, like a pair of little wings.
Lunch was porridge. After eating, the two women took a nap in the bedroom. Liu Chengxu still slept on Su Zhiluo’s bed. She rarely came home, which saved the trouble of spreading extra bedding. Lying on her side, she hadn’t slept well yesterday, and drowsiness came early. She was practically curled up in Su Zhiluo’s arms.
Su Zhiluo’s collarbone felt warm from her breath. Su Zhiluo pulled a strand of her hair and used the ends to cover one of the wings.
Liu Chengxu woke up and found no one beside her. She pushed the door open and saw Su Zhiluo asleep on the old sofa outside, curled up. Liu Chengxu had slept in that spot before, having to curl up when she first came as she hadn’t grown taller yet. Su Zhiluo’s skirt covered her hips, her long legs were bent, and her calves were suspended in the air.
Su Zhiluo woke up. She rubbed her arm. “I’ll take you there.”
They didn’t ride the electric scooter when they went out. The two women walked over. Su Zhiluo simply spent two yuan to accompany her into the subway. Liu Chengxu sat on a seat. There was an empty seat next to her, but Su Zhiluo didn’t sit, holding onto the hand strap.
During the journey, the crowd grew. An auntie carrying a child stood next to her. Liu Chengxu got up to offer her seat. The carriage swayed, and she quickly grabbed the hand strap, her hand clasping Su Zhiluo’s.
Further down the line were several universities, so more people boarded, crowding everyone body-to-body. The two women stood close together. Liu Chengxu said something, perhaps answering a previous question. Su Zhiluo didn’t hear clearly. Su Zhiluo wanted to look at her, but when they reached the next stop, someone getting off pushed her forward, and she bumped into Liu Chengxu’s embrace.
The entire ride was silent.
Because of the crowded carriage, Liu Chengxu got what she wanted, openly hugging her sister-in-law.
At the next stop, there were fewer people. Su Zhiluo said, “I’m getting off.”
Liu Chengxu was silent.
Su Zhiluo said, “Be careful. Call me when you get to school.”
“…Mm.”
Su Zhiluo could get off on Liu Chengxu’s side and was about to move towards the exit, but the crowd pushed her back in. She ended up riding all the way to the last stop.
Su Zhiluo let out a long sigh and lightly rubbed her arms, holding them close.
Liu Chengxu dashed to the bar as soon as she got off the train.
Meng Zhengyue was adjusting the microphone. Seeing her out of breath, she beckoned to her. Liu Chengxu went over to help her with the mic. She planned to tell the manager she was helping her. If she was late for work, the first hour would be unpaid.
Liu Chengxu was in low spirits. Meng Zhengyue asked a couple of concerned questions, but she didn’t say anything. After the manager left, Liu Chengxu went to change her clothes.
She worked until eleven before getting off work. Meng Zhengyue was tired from singing and bought a bottle of water. There were many song requests today, and Meng Zhengyue received a three-hundred-yuan tip. She asked Liu Chengxu if she wanted a late-night snack.
Liu Chengxu was distracted. Meng Zhengyue bought two bags of fried chicken strips and gave her one. Liu Chengxu said, “I need to go back for a while.”
“Go back? Can you make it?”
“Yes, my sister-in-law is alone at home. She said she was lonely. I’m going back to sleep with her tonight. I can catch the last subway.”
“Then you go first.” Meng Zhengyue gave her the chicken strips. She herself would take the subway back to school. This place was close to the school, and she could get there in half an hour.
“Then tell me when you get back to the dorm,” Liu Chengxu said, and then rushed back home. She and Meng Zhengyue shared their location. At the last subway stop, she texted her sister-in-law: [I’m almost there.]
Su Zhiluo was awake: Get some rest early.
Liu Chengxu was holding flowers in her arms. The flower shop was closing late and offering a low discount. She got home at midnight, wanting to surprise her sister-in-law. She opened the door carefully. She put the bought flowers on the floor, locked the door, and walked towards the bedroom.
Living together meant that one’s privacy was exposed to the other person’s sight and hearing.
The hand that was about to push the door stopped. Separated by a single door, she heard a very low sound, like pain, like pleasure, very restrained.
If she hadn’t been standing so close, she almost wouldn’t have heard it, and it could stop at any moment.
She saw it through the crack.
It was her sister-in-law suppressing the surging tide of passion.
