Bullying The Sister-In-Law - Chapter 3.1
When Liu Chengxu kissed her, she lightly took her sister-in-law’s lip, which was very soft. She dared not go too deep, afraid of being discovered by her sister-in-law.
Su Zhiluo’s breath fell near her nose, warm. A layer of sweat broke out on her forehead. This was very much like a surge of passion, overwhelming and rampant. She could not resist; she had only tasted the edge and was already burning.
Liu Chengxu backed away a little, then looked at her sister-in-law’s lips again. They looked wet and glossy in the darkness. She leaned in again and kissed her.
If she could, Liu Chengxu would have liked to kiss for a long time, but it was too easy to be found out. She forced herself to pull away. Su Zhiluo’s philtrum looked fuller and a bit swollen than before. That tempted her to kiss more deeply. She rubbed the corner of her eyes and squatted beside the bed.
She felt something was not right.
That heat was accompanied by a pulsing sensation, originating from her thighs.
This made her feel a little frantic.
As she was climbing back onto her own bed, Su Zhiluo’s tired voice came from behind her, “You didn’t sleep?”
Liu Chengxu felt the guilt of being caught in the act and was greatly panicked, clutching the bedsheet. She replied, “… I wanted to wash my hands just now and tripped.”
If Su Zhiluo asked one more question, she would say her mouth accidentally bumped into her. Su Zhiluo didn’t reply, and Liu Chengxu dared not continue the conversation, immediately returning to her bed. She pressed her fingers to her lips twice and gently bit them.
Her sister-in-law’s lips had no taste.
But her heart felt sweet.
Liu Chengxu’s heart pounded for a long time. Putting her hand on her lower abdomen, she whispered, “Sister-in-law, I think my period is starting.”
She didn’t know how much time passed before she heard the bed creak. Her sister-in-law had turned over, her back facing her. She was practically sleepless that night.
The next day was Sunday.
The moment there was movement on the bed next to her, Liu Chengxu immediately woke up. Su Zhiluo got out of bed quickly. Liu Chengxu thought she was going to the restroom. She rubbed her face twice and got up. As she put on her slippers, she saw tissues placed on the bedside table.
The room was small, and there was no trash can. Liu Chengxu took the tissues out to throw away. Just as she reached the living room, she heard the sound of water in the bathroom. Su Zhiluo came out, holding a wet piece of fabric in her hand.
The two women looked at each other. Liu Chengxu called out “Sister-in-law” with a dry throat. Su Zhiluo’s delicate eyebrows twitched, her gaze falling on Liu Chengxu’s hand. As Liu Chengxu’s eyes opened wide, Su Zhiluo acknowledged her with an “Mm,” and walked towards the windowsill.
Liu Chengxu threw the tissues into the trash can and went into the bathroom to brush her teeth.
Su Zhiluo hung up the underwear and went into the bedroom. She still closed her eyes for a moment. Leaning against the doorframe, she pulled the door shut.
It was inevitable for two adult women living under the same roof to have moments that were unavoidable. Most of the time, women wouldn’t feel too embarrassed. It was only because their relationship was special that certain secrets known only to themselves would occur.
Liu Chengxu came out of the bathroom with water still on her face. She asked in confusion, “What’s wrong, Sister-in-law?”
“Nothing,” Su Zhiluo replied, her back to her.
Liu Chengxu said, “I didn’t see the face cream.”
“It’s finished. There’s a new pack in the cupboard.”
Liu Chengxu turned back. Su Zhiluo bought Yu Mei Jing brand. It was a new one. She squeezed out too much, walked over to Su Zhiluo, took half, and put it on the back of her hand. She flipped her hand over, helping Su Zhiluo rub the face cream until it melted.
Su Zhiluo quickly withdrew her hand. She had a black apron tied around her waist and placed her hands behind her back. The back of her hand felt as if it had been scorched. Liu Chengxu stood behind her, still feeling guilty about yesterday’s events, and couldn’t help but try to find the answer on Su Zhiluo’s face.
Su Zhiluo picked up a seasoning bottle. “Eat first, then go to your part-time job.”
After Su Zhiluo added salt, she took a chopstick to taste the soup. Liu Chengxu secretly glanced at Su Zhiluo several times, her gaze falling on Su Zhiluo’s lips. Her red lips were moist and full. When Su Zhiluo’s eyes shifted towards her, she quickly withdrew her gaze and went to sweep the living room, looking for anything, she could wash.
Su Zhiluo didn’t cook often. She usually hurried to work early and came back late, mostly buying food from roadside stalls near the factory. After Liu Chengxu finished washing up, there was a bowl of tomato, egg, and lean pork noodles on the table. Su Zhiluo was using her chopsticks to pick out the ginger from her bowl. The addition of lard gave it a meaty fragrance.
“Eat, why are you standing there?” Su Zhiluo looked at her.
“I just remembered that the first morning I came here, I ate this same bowl of noodles,” Liu Chengxu said.
Su Zhiluo just smiled faintly and didn’t take it to heart. Liu Chengxu was very much a spoiled princess at the time, picky, and even cried dejectedly, gnashing her teeth because she tasted ginger.
So her sister-in-law had seen all of it.
Liu Chengxu lowered her head and ate the noodles. “It smells so good.”
“Then your taste buds have become cheap,” Su Zhiluo said.
“Huh?”
Su Zhiluo didn’t explain further.
After the meal, Su Zhiluo asked her what time her job started.
Liu Chengxu answered truthfully that she had to be there by four in the afternoon.
Su Zhiluo said, “You finally come back for a day off, and you still don’t have much time to spend with me.”
Spend with?
Liu Chengxu’s face flushed for a moment. She asked, “Do you want me to keep you company?”
Su Zhiluo: “I’ve been quite lonely by myself since you left.”
She then asked, “Where are you working?”
Liu Chengxu gave her the address, a bar.
Su Zhiluo frowned. “Selling alcohol?”
Liu Chengxu explained that Meng Zhengyue was singing there, and she was a waitress. They went to work and came back together, never going to work alone. Moreover, the place was a music bar, not one that primarily sold hard liquor.
Su Zhiluo: “You return too late, it’s not safe. How long will you be working there?”
Liu Chengxu said, “If I don’t go, my friend will be all alone.”
Su Zhiluo put down her chopsticks and waited for her to finish eating. She said, “If you sing until 10 PM, call me. Also, call me when you get back to school.”
“Okay.”
Su Zhiluo hadn’t seen much of Liu Chengxu’s new friend and asked a few more questions about her friend’s family, worried that she might have fallen into bad company.
Liu Chengxu answered one by one, “Don’t worry, she’s very self-reliant, putting herself through school. Her parents don’t manage her much, and she’s very warm-hearted. Before, she and her friends worked part-time at a comic convention, but since there wasn’t a position for me, they changed jobs when they saw how hard I was working.”
She said, full of hope, “Sister-in-law, they are all working very hard and will definitely be very successful in the future.”
In reality, many friendships fade away, and people drift apart. Su Zhiluo didn’t discourage her and replied, “You are both from prestigious universities, with limitless prospects.”
Liu Chengxu felt proud inside. “I’ll support you in the future. When I have money, I’ll give it all to you.”
Su Zhiluo glanced at her. “Aren’t you going to date, get married, or have children?”
Liu Chengxu understood in her heart that if she said she liked women, Su Zhiluo would probably find a way to avoid her, thinking that it was not appropriate for the two of them to live together like this.
“Then you can be together too…”
“I won’t be your mother-in-law,” Su Zhiluo said. “I want to live my own life.”
“Then am I not a part of your life?” Liu Chengxu looked at her with those eyes, which made her look pitiful. “We’ve depended on each other for so long.”
Su Zhiluo smiled faintly and didn’t answer that question. Liu Chengxu was still hoping for an answer from Su Zhiluo. Su Zhiluo started collecting the bowls and chopsticks. Liu Chengxu reached out to take her bowl, holding her hand. “Sister-in-law, can’t I really be with you forever?”
“Who can say for sure about the future?” Su Zhiluo’s answer was ambiguous. Liu Chengxu felt the familiar bitterness again. Su Zhiluo thought she was about to cry and added, “We’ll see when the time comes.”
Liu Chengxu carried the bowl into the kitchen.
Su Zhiluo leaned against the doorframe, watching her, and pressed the corner of her eyes.
Perhaps she was too tired; she always felt like Liu Chengxu resembled her older sister.
Su Zhiluo asked, “Did you get up in the middle of the night yesterday?”
The bowls and chopsticks were covered in dish soap. The bowl in Liu Chengxu’s hand nearly slipped and broke. Her voice was still sour. “Yes, to go to the restroom. I told you, what’s wrong?”
Su Zhiluo asked, “I just remember you saying your period started. Are you going to your part-time job today? Not taking a day off?”
“No…”
“I thought so, mine just finished. It’s only been half a month for you.”
Su Zhiluo recalled what happened yesterday. As long as she walked over to Liu Chengxu and looked, she could see how guilty Liu Chengxu was. Her fingers kept fiddling in one spot.
Su Zhiluo asked, “Does your stomach hurt?”
Liu Chengxu had a cold constitution and suffered from menstrual cramps. Liu Chengxu replied with an “Mm,” not daring to delve into the topic. “Did you soak something this morning?”
Su Zhiluo was silent for half a minute, then walked towards the balcony. “A cup. My hand hit it when I got up.”
Liu Chengxu looked back at her sister-in-law and said softly, “…I want to be with you forever, is that not possible?”
