Bullying the Little Beauty [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 18
Chapter 18
After settling Ning Ruan in a dilapidated earthen house, Chu Yuan remained silent, lighting a fire to dry Ning Ruan’s clothes and keep him warm.
Early this morning, Chu Yuan and Gu Hui had gone to clear out any potential threats nearby and scout the path ahead. They planned to bypass the burial mounds that Ning Ruan was so terrified of.
In the early mountain morning, a thick fog had already begun to spread. The hanging paper strips flickered through the mist, creating an eerie, ghostly atmosphere; one couldn’t blame Ning Ruan for being timid.
It had taken Gu Hui a long time to clear the hanging paper along the path. During that time, Chu Yuan had killed three people, and the scent of blood clung to his entire body.
When they reached the quarter-mark of the mountain, they found this ruined earthen hut. Cobwebs were everywhere, and spiders the size of an infant’s palm were slowly weaving their nets.
Before they could finish cleaning this temporary shelter, the mountain rain began to pour. The quality of their tent was poor; they knew that even with Jiang Qingfeng there, Ning Ruan would likely get drenched.
The two had rushed back down the mountain without a moment’s pause to fetch him, only to find Ning Ruan abandoned and pitiful in the tent.
Gu Hui was still clearing out the cobwebs and any potential snakes, rats, or insects from the hut. The place was in shambles, lacking even a proper door. However, it could at least provide some shelter from the rain, ensuring Ning Ruan wouldn’t be huddled like a shivering little quail in the tent.
Ning Ruan shrank into the dried small blanket, looking up cautiously at Chu Yuan.
The man’s face remained frozen in a cold expression.
Outside, the rain pitter-pattered, forming a curtain of water as the fog continued to swirl. Ning Ruan couldn’t see the scenery outside clearly, nor could he decipher Chu Yuan’s unfathomable emotions.
Since Chu Yuan had snapped at him back at the tent, using his full name, he hadn’t spoken a word. He was acting as if he were throwing a tantrum.
Ning Ruan bit his lip, his gaze flickering guiltily. Jiujiu, was I too much just now?
When Chu Yuan had scooped him up, Ning Ruan’s reaction had been quite strong. In his struggle, he had even kicked Chu Yuan.
009: What? How could Baby be ‘too much’? He could have clearly told Baby that he was taking you up the mountain to hide from the rain, but he chose not to explain and just grabbed you. Baby has every right to be angry.
This dog of a man has a mouth but doesn’t use it to explain only to scold Baby. He deserved to be kicked twice!
Baby, don’t you dare go and comfort him. If you do, he’ll only take a mile for every inch you give. In the future, every time something doesn’t go his way, he’ll give you the cold shoulder.
Ning Ruan: ?
Is, is that how it works?
Neither spoke, and Gu Hui had no intention of mediating. After finishing with the mess, Gu Hui took out some small mushrooms he had gathered on the mountain that morning to boil soup.
Once the mushrooms were in, Gu Hui sat down next to Ning Ruan and reached out to touch his forehead. Finding Ning Ruan’s temperature normal, Gu Hui breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness you aren’t sick.
Ningning, you scared me to death. If you got sick, I wouldn’t know what to do. Jiang Qingfeng is truly something how could he leave you there alone?
While Gu Hui wasn’t willing to mend the relationship between Chu Yuan and Ning Ruan, he sided with Chu Yuan on today’s matter. Of course, he didn’t think Chu Yuan was faultless either; Chu Yuan had been very harsh with Ning Ruan.
You must be hungry? Wait a bit, the soup will be ready soon.
As Gu Hui spoke, Ning Ruan felt the awkwardness dissipate slightly. He couldn’t help but lean closer to Gu Hui. To be honest, Chu Yuan was far too fierce; Gu Hui was much easier to talk to.
Okay, I’ll wait for the soup.
The little widow licked his lips and looked up, only to meet Chu Yuan’s murderous gaze. Ning Ruan’s eyelashes trembled, and he lowered his eyes again, brooding.
Chu Yuan was truly so fierce, and he had such a temper. He had been stone-faced since they returned, looking as if someone owed him a fortune.
009 was right; he couldn’t take the initiative to comfort Chu Yuan. If he had to comfort everyone, he would be exhausted.
Gu Hui’s sharp eyes noticed the reddened skin near Ning Ruan’s pant legs. Ning Ruan’s flesh was tender all over; usually, he would turn red at the slightest touch. Sitting on the wood now, the soft flesh on his thighs was nearly chafed raw.
Gu Hui: Ningning, let me hold you.
Ning Ruan happened to be sitting uncomfortably. The wooden stump was very hard, and even though Chu Yuan had cleared the splinters, the edges still rubbed painfully against his thighs.
Ning Ruan raised his round eyes halfway to look at Gu Hui, like a little cat, asking tentatively, Is that okay?
At this moment, Ning Ruan had completely put Chu Yuan out of his mind.
The stunningly beautiful little widow’s eyes flickered as he hesitated, Would this be inappropriate?
It was merely a polite refusal, but Gu Hui could hardly look away. He felt as if his feet were rooted to the spot. He stared blankly at Ning Ruan speaking to him in that soft, sticky voice. Because his mouth had been “devoured,” his lips were still a vivid red.
Gu Hui spoke dazed: It’s not inappropriate.
The little widow then hesitantly sat on his lap. The faint fragrance emanating from his skin nearly stripped Gu Hui of his ability to think.
Ning Ruan sat softly on his lap, his legs obediently pressed together as if afraid he might fall off. He wrapped his slender, soft arms around Gu Hui’s waist.
Hold me tight, it’ll hurt if I fall. Ning Ruan made his dainty request.
Held by this warm, fragrant beauty, Gu Hui’s entire body went rigid, and blood rushed to his lower abdomen. Mhm.
Heh.
Chu Yuan let out a cold sound, as if his patience had reached its limit. He snatched Ning Ruan out of Gu Hui’s arms.
Chu Yuan: If you want to sit on a man, just say so earlier. It’s not like I won’t let you sit on me.
Chu Yuan’s voice was full of mockery, as if Ning Ruan were a shameless temptress who would hook any man at any time. Can’t you survive without a man?
Ning Ruan:
Wasn’t Chu Yuan ignoring him?
Ning Ruan was pinned into Chu Yuan’s embrace. Gu Hui came forward, wanting to pull Chu Yuan away and stop him from bullying Ning Ruan, but Chu Yuan knocked him unconscious on the spot.
Kissing Jiang Qingfeng, sitting on Gu Hui’s lap Ning Ruan, have I been too good to you? How can you do these things with them right in front of me?
Ning Ruan was a bit dazed by what he was being told. He instinctively argued in a small voice, I, I didn’t kiss Jiang Qingfeng in front of you.
As soon as Ning Ruan said that, the air grew still. Only the sound of the rain outside and the bubbling soup inside could be heard.
Chu Yuan’s heart felt as if it were being squeezed by Ning Ruan’s words. He didn’t kiss him in front of me which meant Ning Ruan admitted to kissing Jiang Qingfeng.
How could Ning Ruan be like this? How could he seduce him and then go off to be intimate with others?
If he were forced, Chu Yuan could understand. He could just go and settle the score with Jiang Qingfeng, since Ning Ruan would be the victim. Once he killed Jiang Qingfeng and they left this place, he was willing to forget everything that happened inside and live a good life with Ning Ruan, pampering him and giving him whatever he wanted.
But what if Ning Ruan himself was the type who couldn’t live without a man? How could he possibly let Ning Ruan go around hooking up with others?
Chu Yuan’s heart burned with rage. He pinned the boy against his chest. “Do you like seducing other men that much? Are you really that promiscuous?”
Chu Yuan’s accusations rained down one after another. At first, Ning Ruan didn’t even process it, just looking at Chu Yuan aggrievedly. But once it sank in, Ning Ruan felt a mixture of shame and fury. His round eyes turned red with anger.
He raised his hand to hit the man, but his wrist was caught.
Ashamed and angry?
When you were doing those things, why didn’t you think people would talk about you like this?
I should have known long ago.
Ning Ruan being able to handle those three men at once probably wasn’t just for survival.
Ning Ruan just likes that feeling of being pinned down and fed until he can’t take any more.
He likes saying ‘no’ while his body accepts everything deeply.
Did you only kiss Jiang Qingfeng?
Or did you let him Is it because you were ‘stuffed’ that you can’t even sit on a wooden stump and only want to sit on a man, hm?
Ning Ruan bit his lip in panicked helplessness. Whether from anger or fear, his raven eyelashes trembled uncontrollably.
Chu Yuan looked fierce, but hearing these words, Ning Ruan only felt his face burning hot. He belatedly realized what Jiang Qingfeng meant when he held him and said those “comfortable” things. Jiang Qingfeng and Chu Yuan meant the same thing.
They both wanted to humiliate him.
Before Ning Ruan could even get angry, he felt a chill as Chu Yuan stripped him. Chu Yuan was like a dog, searching for something on his body.
If Ning Ruan had wanted to hit Chu Yuan or curse him for being shameless earlier, now he only wanted to cry. How could Chu Yuan be like this? How could he bully him so cruelly?
The little widow’s almond eyes brimmed with tears. Terrified of being bullied further, he hurriedly explained, I, I didn’t do that with Jiang Qingfeng I really didn’t.
Stop looking, Ning Ruan finally couldn’t hold it back, a sob of grievance escaping his lips.
Hearing Ning Ruan’s cry, a sliver of Chu Yuan’s burning rationality returned. He instinctively pulled the small blanket to cover the fair, beautiful scene before him.
But in the next instant, Chu Yuan’s heart hardened again. If he didn’t scare the little widow, the boy would keep hooking up with others.
I don’t believe you. I have to see for myself to believe it.
Ning Ruan was dazed from crying, but hearing Chu Yuan’s voice made him even more bewildered. His eyelashes fluttered in panic. What what else do you want to see ah?
Hadn’t Chu Yuan already lifted his clothes and looked at everything?
Chu Yuan pressed him onto his lap, his fingers squeezing the soft flesh of Ning Ruan’s thighs, forcing them apart. “What am I looking for? Looking to see if your back was ‘taken’ by that dog Jiang Qingfeng.”
Crude words accompanied by crude actions. Ning Ruan had nowhere to hide. Terrified by the words and the actions, he could only frantically grab Chu Yuan’s hand. Don’t look, don’t do this.
Ning Ruan explained through his tears, I didn’t, I wasn’t bullied by him. He only kissed me.
How how can you bully me like this? Chu Yuan, I hate you.
Having his legs forced apart and being inspected made Ning Ruan’s snow white face turn so red it looked like it might drip blood. Yet Chu Yuan stared fixedly at him Ning Ruan didn’t even dare look at Chu Yuan’s expression. Even though he knew Chu Yuan was being perverted and bullying him, Ning Ruan didn’t dare look.
Until Chu Yuan’s finger poked him. Ning Ruan’s back went rigid, and even the smooth, white arches of his feet exposed outside the blanket tensed into a trembling curve.
He shook and shivered, as if vibrating right against one’s heartstrings.
His tears flowed even harder, his damp eyelashes clumped together, trembling with grievance and shame.
Ning Ruan kept his eyes closed, unaware of the man’s current expression: obsessed, intoxicated, having completely forgotten his anger.
Chu Yuan’s gaze was burning as he stared at that small, pink flower bud that had just broken through the earth in the corner.
Chu Yuan finally understood why Ning Ruan liked watching Jiang Qingfeng use his power to make flowers bloom because the feeling of life bursting forth in that moment was intoxicating and irresistible.
Chu Yuan carefully used his finger to part the petals, wanting to tease the stamen within.
But the bud remained tightly closed, barely allowing a single finger to part it before the flower clamped down on him. A soft flower, yet it felt as if it could wring his finger off.
This was what a Dodder plant was seemingly weak and powerless, yet possessing the ability to strangle everything: to strangle monsters that sought to harm him, and to strangle a heart that sought to be the only one.
At first, there was resentment why must the Dodder cling to him and drain his life?
But gradually, the resentment turned into a different question: Why couldn’t the plant cling only to him? Why did it have to drain the life of others too? Could he not be the only one to have his life drained?
In the end, it was a sense of helplessness a desire to promise this weak Dodder everything, to obey him, even if he wasn’t the only one.
