- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 84 - The Beast Mark Changes, Xing Chi Worries
With the help of the physicians, Mi Yue’s condition stabilized slightly.
However, the labor had gone on for far too long, and her strength was nearly exhausted. Delivering these cubs was proving extremely difficult for her.
“Hold on, Mi Yue. If the cubs in your belly aren’t born soon, they’ll suffocate.” the physician encouraged her while feeding her water and energy-restoring food, continuously cheering her on.
Mi Yue clutched the animal hide beneath her tightly. The pain in her abdomen made her wish she could just stop giving birth right then.
“Ah!”
“It hurts so much…” A tear slid down the corner of her eye. She was utterly exhausted and desperately wanted to rest.
“They’re out, they’re out!”
“Wait, check again… Alright, that’s all.”
“Five, five little tiger cubs!”
The physicians collectively sighed in relief. Thankfully, the birth had gone smoothly, though Mi Yue’s condition had been perilous.
It was a stroke of luck that their heads were still intact. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have known how to face the city lord, they might have been skinned alive.
Xiu Ka stared blankly at the five tiny, red tiger cubs.
So… the cubs Mi Yue had been carrying were his!
Meanwhile, on the other side, Xing Chi wasn’t doing anything else, he was just staring nervously at the mate’s beast mark on his body.
His beast mark had changed, becoming unbearably hot.
He was terrified that the change was related to Mi Yue, fearing that she might be in danger.
Xing Chi called out anxiously, “Yue… Yue, what’s wrong?”
“Yue, answer me! If you stay silent, I’ll really start to panic.”
He repeated his questions several times but received no response.
What should he do?
Mi Yue hadn’t heard a single word of Xing Chi’s calls, but the system had.
Seeing Xing Chi’s growing distress, it quickly used gratitude points to restore Mi Yue’s stamina, pulling her back from the brink of physical collapse.
When she slowly opened her eyes, she found herself lying in an unfamiliar place.
Before she could even wonder where she was, she heard Xing Chi’s increasingly frantic voice, calling out to her incessantly.
She didn’t know how long he had been calling, but she knew he wouldn’t stop until she responded.
“Xing Chi, I’m here.”
Hearing her voice, Xing Chi’s heart finally settled back into place.
“Thank goodness you’re alright! My beast mark suddenly burned hot, I thought something had happened to you. What’s going on?”
“I’m fine. I just gave birth to the cubs and used up too much energy. Everything’s okay now, don’t worry.”
Assured of her safety, Xing Chi let out a deep sigh of relief.
“Yue, as long as you’re safe. If you’re ever in danger or need my help, you must tell me immediately.”
“Alright, I will. I’m too tired now, I need to rest.”
Mi Yue was utterly exhausted. The moment she finished speaking, she fell into a deep sleep.
Xing Chi didn’t say anything more, letting her rest peacefully.
Meanwhile, in the modern world…
Li Xiangyang had spent who knew how much time, effort, and even money trying to find Mi Yue…
But Mi Yue had completely vanished without a trace, as if she had evaporated into thin air.
“Where on earth are you, Mi Yue?”
Li Xiangyang slumped onto the sofa in the hillside villa, his face haggard beyond recognition.
He stayed at the villa every day, hoping against hope that Mi Yue would suddenly return.
Yet despite mobilizing people to comb through every inch of City A, there was still no sign of her.
Her disappearance was far too thorough.
How could this be?
How was it even possible?
Li Xiangyang was terrified.
Every second of every day, he prayed that Mi Yue was alive and well somewhere, not lying cold and lifeless in some unknown place.
“Have you reported this to the police? What did they say? What about that Xing Chi guy?”
Li Xiangyang pulled out his phone and called his assistant.
“We’ve already filed a report, but there’s still no news about Xing Chi. It’s like this person never existed, no records, no traces.”
The assistant was equally frustrated. Over the past few days, he had practically run himself ragged following Li Xiangyang’s orders.
If there had been even the slightest lead, it might have been worth it. But after all this effort, they had nothing.
If he hadn’t personally met both Mi Yue and Xing Chi, he would have started doubting Li Xiangyang’s sanity, wondering if he was chasing after two people who didn’t even exist.
Li Xiangyang hung up the phone.
What was going on?
Not even a trace of Xing Chi?
He stood up and pushed open the study door.
He didn’t know much about Xing Chi, but he remembered his face. Surely, with that alone, tracking him down shouldn’t be impossible.
The assistant, confused by the abrupt end to the call, sighed but dutifully returned to the villa to report his (lack of) findings for the day.
Not finding Li Xiangyang in the living room, he headed straight for the study.
As soon as he stepped inside, he saw Li Xiangyang hunched over the desk, working intently on something.
Upon closer inspection, he realized Li Xiangyang was sketching, drawing Xing Chi’s face.
“Boss, maybe you should get some rest. Finding them is important, but I’ve already got people on it. All we can do now is wait for results.”
“If you keep pushing yourself like this, your body won’t hold up. Don’t collapse before we even find Miss Mi Yue.”
The assistant spoke carefully, but Li Xiangyang acted as though he hadn’t heard, continuing to sketch with unwavering focus.
He wasn’t drawing quickly, he wanted every detail of Xing Chi’s face to be precise, hoping it would help narrow the search.
Seeing that persuasion was futile, the assistant gave up with a resigned sigh.
Meanwhile, in the Beast World…
Xiu Ka pushed open the wooden door, a bowl of water in his hands.
Mi Yue lay resting on the bed, breathing softly, her face pale with exhaustion.
Beads of sweat still clung to her forehead.
Xiu Ka’s heart ached as he gently gathered her into his arms.
“Yue, you’ve worked so hard…”
Unable to resist, he buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent.
“What are you doing?”
The moment Elfman stepped inside, he saw Xiu Ka nuzzling intimately against Mi Yue’s neck, and instantly, his heart soured with jealousy.
Before Xiu Ka could lift his head to see who had arrived, he was seized by a sudden force and yanked away.
“You-”
Xiu Ka winced in pain and tried to retaliate, but before he could even raise his hand, Elfman had already pulled Mi Yue into his arms and fiercely bit down on her lips.
Amidst the back-and-forth scuffle between the two, Mi Yue finally stirred awake.
