- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 48 - I Want to Be Your First Partner
Xiu Ka completely ignored Xing Chi’s words.
His arrogant attitude infuriated Xing Chi, who wasted no time and immediately charged at Xiu Ka, throwing punches.
Xiu Ka, unwilling to back down, fought back.
“You dare fight back? You’ve got some nerve.”
This low-ranking male not only wanted to steal his little female but also had the audacity to lay hands on him!
Xing Chi touched his left cheek, his eyes burning with rage.
“I’ve had enough of you!” Xiu Ka’s words were the final straw for Xing Chi.
The two exchanged blows, quickly escalating into a full-on brawl right then and there.
“Stop it, both of you! Don’t fight!”
Mi Yue panicked when she saw them grappling with each other.
Both of them were her feeding targets, and as they pummeled each other, their health bars dropped. The system’s incessant alerts rang in her ears, making her heart ache.
She’d have to painstakingly restore their lost health points, what was the point of this?
Xiu Ka and Xing Chi seemed deaf to Mi Yue’s pleas. Neither was willing to yield, each determined to land just one more hit on the other.
Seeing that verbal intervention was useless, Mi Yue had no choice but to step in and physically pull them apart.
Xing Chi and Xiu Ka only wanted to beat each other senseless, not harm Mi Yue, so they immediately took a step back.
“Yue, choose between me and him right now, or this fight won’t end until one of us is dead.”
Xing Chi fixed his gaze on Mi Yue.
Mi Yue looked from Xing Chi to Xiu Ka, studying their expressions, unsure of what to say.
Both were her feeding targets. Keeping the balance between them was already hard enough, now she had to pick one? This was practically a death sentence!
No matter whom she chose, she’d offend the other, and that one would likely turn hostile.
Wouldn’t all her efforts up to now be wasted?
“System, system, what should I do?”
Mi Yue silently called for the system, hoping it could give her a way out of this crisis.
[Host, no matter whom you choose, both carry the risk of turning hostile. Proceed with caution.]
[Note: If a feeding target turns hostile, all previous system rewards will be revoked.]
The system’s words sent Mi Yue into a panic. Both had the potential to turn against her.
This meant that no matter her choice, one of them would become hostile.
How could she avoid making this decision?
Suddenly, an idea struck her. Her eyes rolled back, and she went limp, collapsing straight to the ground.
“Yue, what’s wrong?”
“Shaman Yue!”
Seeing her faint, Xing Chi forgot about the fight and quickly caught her in his arms.
“Yue, Yue, are you okay?” Xing Chi held Mi Yue and checked her breathing.
“I’ll get the healer.” Xiu Ka threw out the words and hurried off.
Xing Chi carried Mi Yue back to the stone house and gently laid her on the bed.
“What happened? Why did she faint all of a sudden?”
He wasn’t well-versed in medicine, but he could at least confirm Mi Yue was still alive.
He sat by the bed, watching her face intently when he suddenly noticed the faint flutter of her eyelashes.
So, the little female was faking it…
The worry in Xing Chi’s heart instantly faded, and a smile curled at his lips.
“Xiu Ka has already left, no need to keep pretending.”
As soon as Xing Chi finished speaking, Mi Yue opened her eyes, grinning as she sat up.
“Xing Chi, you’re amazing. You actually noticed,” Mi Yue said sheepishly, scratching her head.
“Your acting was full of holes. I saw through it at a glance.”
“Only that dumb tiger, too worried to think straight, didn’t notice.”
“Hmph.” Xing Chi’s face darkened at the mention of Xiu Ka.
“Yue, I need to ask you something.” Xing Chi’s expression suddenly turned serious, and Mi Yue straightened up, matching his solemnity.
“What do you want to ask me?”
“Between me and Xiu Ka, who would you ultimately choose? What are your true feelings about the two of us?”
The question immediately silenced Mi Yue.
“Well… I don’t know either.”
After stammering for a long time, those were the only words Mi Yue could muster. She cautiously lifted her head to look at Xing Chi, studying his expression.
Xing Chi sighed. The fact that Mi Yue couldn’t give a clear answer only proved her guilt.
But even so, he couldn’t bring himself to press her further and had no choice but to compromise.
“I can accept Xiu Ka as your mate, but I have one condition.”
Xing Chi’s words eased the tension in Mi Yue’s heart. She hadn’t expected him to be willing to make such a concession.
“You’re really okay with it?” Mi Yue couldn’t help but repeat, unable to hide her disbelief.
It seemed utterly unbelievable to her. Typically, males were extremely possessive and wouldn’t allow their mates to be coveted by others.
For Xing Chi to make such a concession was truly unexpected.
Xing Chi shot her a frosty glare.
Mi Yue shrank back, intimidated. “…”
“I said there’s a condition.”
“What condition?” Mi Yue pressed.
“Xiu Ka can be your mate, but I must be your first. Otherwise…” Xing Chi gritted his teeth, the sound audible.
“Okay.” Mi Yue agreed without hesitation.
Xing Chi had already made such a huge compromise for her. If she still didn’t appreciate it and ended up provoking his darker side, she wouldn’t even have a place to cry later.
“You agree?”
Now it was Xing Chi’s turn to be surprised. He hadn’t expected her to agree so readily.
“Yes, I agree. You’ve already given so much for me. I’ll definitely meet your condition.”
Every word Mi Yue spoke was sincere. Xing Chi had sacrificed and compromised too much for her. She couldn’t let him down any further.
Without another word, Xing Chi pulled Mi Yue into a tight embrace.
Mi Yue broke free from his arms, straightened up, and kissed the boy’s lips.
Her initiative took Xing Chi by surprise. He kissed her back, and soon, the two were lost in passion as the temperature in the room began to rise.
“Physician, hurry, faster!”
Xiu Ka gripped the physician with one hand and carried the medical kit with the other, rushing toward the stone house.
“Alright, alright, I’m walking as fast as I can.”
Xiu Ka seemed not to hear the physician’s words, still dragging him along at top speed.
When they finally reached the stone house, Xiu Ka sensed something was off. He thought he caught a whiff of an unusual scent.
When he finally discerned what the scent was, his expression instantly darkened, turning as black as ink.
Xiu Ka stopped the physician, preventing them from entering the stone house directly.
He quietly approached the house and peered inside through the window. The scent of a male in rut grew increasingly potent, there was no doubt it was emanating from Xing Chi.
Inside, the faint, restrained whimpers of a young female could also be heard.
In that moment, Xiu Ka understood. It seemed Shaman Yue would be just fine.
