Becoming the Yandere Omega's Fluffy Pet - Chapter 48
Chapter 48
From the moment she stepped out of the Dean’s office, Liu Ran’s expression remained dazed.
Ming Siyu had used thirty internal recommendation slots from the Ming Group targeted at this year’s undergraduate graduates, the Ming Family Scholarship, and a donated commercial case database to secure Liu Ran a spot as a visiting student at the Business School.
The thought of returning to school had not yet fully formed in Liu Ran’s heart before Ming Siyu swiftly turned it into reality.
Liu Ran looked at Ming Siyu in confusion. “Why do all this for me?”
“Because your education level is too low. You look like a student, but every time someone asks me where you go to school, I’m too embarrassed for you to answer.”
Ming Siyu had only remembered this because Liu Ran mentioned Jian Huaici joining school clubs the other day. Liu Ran might not have mentioned it with a specific purpose, but the desire was certainly there in her subconscious for it to slip out involuntarily.
Did Liu Ran want to go to school? Ming Siyu could give the answer without thinking: Liu Ran definitely wanted to continue her education.
Liu Ran had a wish that had never changed from beginning to end: to live like a normal person. It was just that, thanks to her ears and tail, this wish was almost impossible to realize. Most normal people choose to go to university after graduating high school; if Liu Ran hadn’t sold her body to the lab to modify her genes, she would likely have graduated university by now.
Moreover, her little wolf was a little top student who had skipped grades; she would want to go to university even more.
Sending someone to university wasn’t a difficult task. It was just that this year’s National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) had already passed. To enter through the standard unified examination, one would have to wait until next year, and next year… next year, when Liu Ran would be waiting for her admission notice, Ming Siyu would likely be arranging her final appearance for her funeral.
Ming Siyu was too lazy to wait that long. Being a visiting student was the same; the only difference was the lack of a diploma. In her view, the point of university wasn’t the certificate, but the process feeling the campus atmosphere and expanding one’s knowledge base was enough.
If Liu Ran insisted on having a degree or diploma, she would have plenty of time to take exams in the future, and she could even use the credits earned during this visiting year to apply for early graduation. By then, Ming Siyu would be long dead, and no one could control her; Liu Ran could do whatever she wanted.
At this moment, no matter what Ming Siyu said, it was just a buzzing hum in Liu Ran’s ears.
She couldn’t tell if she was joyful or resistant. She had many things to say, but what finally came out was: “But it must cost a lot of money, right?”
Ming Siyu let out a sigh of disdain and helplessness.
“Little wolf, you’ve been with me for several months. How have you still not learned the principle that ‘problems that can be solved with money aren’t real problems’? Money is the least important thing. You’ve been behaving satisfactorily lately, so of course, I will take the initiative to give you the reward you want.”
“But,” Ming Siyu’s tone shifted as she laid out her arrangements clearly to Liu Ran: “Don’t take the schoolwork too seriously. Just come to class once or twice a week. I signed you up for Management; it’s not hard to learn. The focus is still on the company and the park project—you’ll learn much more there than you ever could at school. As for the diploma issue, I’ve already mentioned it; I haven’t finalized the details with the college yet. To study or not to study, I’ll give you one day to consider.”
“I’ll study,” Liu Ran said without hesitation.
Firstly, she truly wanted to return to school, and secondly, she was afraid that if she missed this chance, she wouldn’t get another. If Ming Siyu changed her mind one day, she would lose a golden opportunity.
“The first time you’ve agreed so decisively. It seems you really wanted this. Did you drive here?”
Liu Ran nodded.
Ming Siyu told Secretary Wen to head back first. She had also attended A-University for two years, though at a different campus. Back then, she rarely came to school; most of her time was spent running the company. She would cram for a month during finals to take the exams and eventually graduated smoothly.
School and a company are different after all; there’s a very youthful atmosphere to it. Whether she was infected by this atmosphere or was starting to reminisce because she had been away for too long, Ming Siyu asked Liu Ran to accompany her for a walk around the campus.
In October, the ginkgo leaves on campus had turned yellow, fluttering down to cover the ground. The newly fallen ones hadn’t been swept yet, and the crunch-crunch sound as they stepped on them was not at all annoying.
Liu Ran was both excited and worried. Her habit of getting nervous around people had improved significantly, but could she truly blend into a class of students with ease? The other students had already been in school for over a month; could she keep up with the pace? Having not studied for so long, did she still have the ability to learn? Would others mock her for being a “connections” student? Could she balance work, life, and study?
She didn’t feel much about the expensive clothes and jewelry Ming Siyu gave her; she felt that was just Ming Siyu dressing up a pet. As for the house transferred to her in Country B, Ming Siyu explained it was to prevent her from approaching the Jian family again. Lending her a car was likely to thank her for risking her life to save her.
But this time was different. Even if Ming Siyu said it was to prevent people from mocking her for having a secretary with only a high school diploma, the weight Liu Ran felt from this was completely different from before.
Ming Siyu had always been indifferent to the opinions of others; Liu Ran felt that no one would dare mock her based on her secretary’s low education level. Even if Ming Siyu truly looked down on her for being slow or uneducated, she could have simply told her to find a way to get an education on her own.
Yet Ming Siyu had personally come to the school to speak with the Dean about it.
She looked at Ming Siyu with complex eyes. Ming Siyu was wearing brown calfskin ankle boots, and her beige trench coat complemented her graceful figure. She rarely wore her hair down, usually pinning it back. Her exquisite facial structure required no stray hairs for framing, and the back of her head was as perfectly rounded as a sculpted model.
Ming Siyu walked slowly, looking straight ahead, and didn’t notice a boy riding a shared bike while talking to his companion, speeding toward her from behind.
Liu Ran grabbed Ming Siyu and pulled her back. Ming Siyu was startled. A second later, the bike sped past, brushing against the hem of her coat. The boy only realized he had nearly hit someone after riding several meters; he looked back and yelled a casual “Sorry” before speeding away.
“What kind of person is that? No manners at all…” She turned to check on Ming Siyu. “Are you okay? Did he hit you?”
Ming Siyu had recovered from the shock. She looked down at the arms tightly hugging her waist and arched an eyebrow at Liu Ran: “Are you going to keep hugging me like this in public?”
Liu Ran hurriedly let go.
Ming Siyu stood firm, crossing her arms over her chest as if conducting an interrogation: “Did I give you permission to hug me?”
“It wasn’t a hug, it was an emergency…” Liu Ran explained urgently.
The light in the eyes behind Ming Siyu’s lenses flashed as she said eerily: “You could have warned me to dodge, pulled me away, or pushed me. Why did you have to hug me?”
Liu Ran was momentarily speechless. She also felt Ming Siyu had a point; why did her hands have to go for the woman’s waist?
Seeing her at a loss, her brain working overtime to think of an answer but coming up empty, Ming Siyu curled the corners of her mouth.
She had intended to take the opportunity to tease the little wolf. After all this time, nine out of ten times, the little wolf would still be teased into a state of mental paralysis by her.
“I’ll let it slide this time. I forgive you. Next time you want to hug me, you have to file an ap—”
Before the “p” in “application” could be uttered, Liu Ran suddenly stepped forward and hugged Ming Siyu tightly.
Ming Siyu’s expression changed. She was caught in a bear hug by Liu Ran, forced to tilt her head back as her neck bumped against Liu Ran’s shoulder. Her arms were still crossed in front of her chest, making her stand in an extremely uncomfortable position.
“President Ming…”
Liu Ran whispered. Once wasn’t enough, so she murmured several times in succession: “President Ming… President Ming…”
It was as if those were the only two words left in her language system.
Ming Siyu gave a push but couldn’t break free. Her toe searched and found Liu Ran’s foot, and she stomped hard on Liu Ran’s instep.
Liu Ran: “Ming—ah!”
She reflexively reached for her foot, and Ming Siyu took the opportunity to move away. She squinted at the aggrieved, pouting little wolf, her words showing no mercy: “You lunatic, I think you don’t want those two arms of yours anymore! I just said you can’t hug me whenever you want!”
Liu Ran moved her toes inside her shoe. It only hurt from that one stomp; it likely wasn’t injured. She hammered her head in regret; she must have had a brain cramp to hug Ming Siyu just now.
She was just so overwhelmed with emotion that her chest felt tight; she wanted to say something or do something for Ming Siyu to express herself, but she had no experience and didn’t know how. Ming Siyu stood there with her arms crossed, her narrow, deep fox-like eyes slightly narrowed, her red, thin lips spitting out questions and commands. To her, this high-and-mighty, in-control posture was incredibly sexy—sexier than wearing a sheer suit and holding a chain in a dream.
The emotion found an outlet, surging into a single thought: I want to hold her.
So she went ahead and did it.
Then she got stomped on and scolded.
However, the lethality of Ming Siyu’s scolding was far less than it was at the beginning. Back then, a few words from Ming Siyu could make her heart bleed, but now they couldn’t even hit a sore spot.
“Sorry… what were you saying just now?”
Ming Siyu repeated the requirement of filing an application to hug her. “Did you remember it?”
“I remembered.”
“Think of a way to compensate me yourself. An Alpha hugging an Omega in the street… you’ve been getting more and more lawless lately.”
Liu Ran looked around and noticed what seemed to be a food street at the end of this ginkgo road. She immediately said, “How about I treat you to a meal?”
It was rare to see this miser offer to spend money voluntarily, so there was no reason for Ming Siyu to refuse. She agreed immediately.
Five minutes later, standing in front of a mobile stall selling roasted chicken legs, Ming Siyu realized she had overestimated Liu Ran.
Liu Ran happily ordered a medium-spicy one from the owner, then asked Ming Siyu: “What spice level do you want?”
Ming Siyu said with a grim face: “I want ‘Why don’t you just go die’ spicy.”
Liu Ran was too slow to catch the meaning behind Ming Siyu’s words. She thought Ming Siyu was being sarcastic because she hadn’t remembered her taste preferences, and she whispered, “I remember, I remember.”
She said to the vendor: “Make another one, mild spicy.”
If it weren’t for the fact that it was mealtime and there were many students eating on the food street, Ming Siyu truly would have kicked Liu Ran in the bottom.
Once the chicken legs were roasted, the vendor put them in two separate bags and handed them to Liu Ran. Liu Ran tore open the bag for Ming Siyu’s portion, shaping it so it was easy to hold by hand, gripped the bone at the bottom of the chicken leg, and held it up to Ming Siyu.
Ming Siyu gritted her teeth: “You’re treating me to an eight-yuan roasted chicken leg?”
Liu Ran froze in place. “I saw there’s Malatang, crispy roasted pork, roasted cold noodles… which one do you want? I’ll go buy it.”
Ming Siyu was so angry she turned and walked away.
Liu Ran followed behind holding two chicken legs. “Hey, why are you leaving? Don’t be angry. Is there nothing you want to eat? Really not going to try it? It smells great, it won’t taste good once it’s cold.”
“You eat the stuff from these stalls yourself. Even if you die from eating it, no one will care.”
Only then did Liu Ran understand what Ming Siyu was angry about.
Her attitude toward admitting fault was excellent; she immediately apologized: “Sorry, I just saw they were selling food here. How about I treat you to something else? That private kitchen restaurant you took me to before?”
She looked at the chicken legs, feeling a bit of a pity. “But these really do smell great, and many people are eating here, so it should be fine.”
Ming Siyu had lost interest in the idea of Liu Ran treating her to a meal. “I’m not eating. Think of something else.”
“Okay, then I’ll think of something else.”
As Liu Ran spoke, her gaze moved to the sizzling, oily chicken legs that had just been cooked. She was already a bit hungry, and the aroma of the chicken legs rushed into her nose.
Since Ming Siyu wasn’t eating, she could eat both of them.
She took a bite, skin and meat together. Mmm, it was indeed delicious—tender and fragrant, oily but not greasy.
As Liu Ran ate, the aroma of the chicken legs kept drifting into Ming Siyu’s nose as well. This kind of unhealthy food did smell tempting; no wonder so many people liked to eat it.
Eating it once in a while might be fine.
Liu Ran finished her own leg in no time and was about to eat the one she bought for Ming Siyu. Just as she rolled up the bag, she was met with a cold gaze.
Ming Siyu reached out: “My food. Give it to me.”
Liu Ran licked her lips, a grain of cumin stuck to the corner of her mouth. She handed the chicken leg to Ming Siyu. Without asking the reason for her change of mind, she said with a grin: “It’s good to change flavors once in a while. It’s really delicious.”
She looked exactly like a rabbit promoting carrots.
Someone who didn’t know better would think you roasted this leg yourself, Ming Siyu thought. She didn’t often eat such oily food, but it indeed smelled excessively fragrant, so she reluctantly took a bite.
It was quite tasty.
However, Ming Siyu felt greasy after two bites. Liu Ran, who had developed the habit of eating her leftovers based on the principle of not wasting, finished the chicken leg she had left.
Liu Ran drove on the way back, with Ming Siyu in the passenger seat testing her driving skills.
As a result, shortly after arriving home, Ming Siyu had diarrhea.
After finishing, she lay on the bed listlessly. Liu Ran brought water and porridge, squatting by the bed and asking cautiously if she wanted a little.
Ming Siyu had no appetite.
“Have you thought of the compensation?”
Liu Ran shook her head honestly.
She truly had been thinking, but the meal option had been rejected by Ming Siyu. She couldn’t afford expensive gifts, and Ming Siyu wouldn’t look twice at cheap ones.
“Stop thinking. Just tie the necklace to your tail like last time, wear some clothes with less fabric, wash your ears and tail and blow them fluffy, and call me ‘Master’ on my bed until I’m satisfied. That will count as compensation.”
Ming Siyu made a direct custom order.
Liu Ran’s first reaction was to refuse.
She had been having too many fantasies about Ming Siyu lately. It was fine in dreams since everything was fake, but if it turned into reality, she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to control herself. If she truly marked Ming Siyu, Ming Siyu would tear her into a thousand pieces…
She had been told several times: she wasn’t qualified to mark Ming Siyu. Ming Siyu’s relationship with her was limited to just playing around; a lifelong matter like marking wouldn’t be her turn.
Ming Siyu gave her a look of disdain.
“It’s all because of that lousy chicken leg you bought. I haven’t even settled the score with you for getting sick; where do you get off refusing me?”
Ming Siyu had a point.
Liu Ran whispered: “Then wait for me a moment.”
After saying that, she fled the room in a flash. Ming Siyu didn’t even have time to speak before she vanished.
About half an hour later, she entered wrapped in a thin blanket. She jumped onto Ming Siyu’s bed with her eyes closed and lay there like a caterpillar, motionless.
The exposed wolf ears emitted the fresh scent of body wash. Her warm body nudged against Ming Siyu, her heart pounding like a drum: “I… I’m ready.”
Ming Siyu whipped away the thin blanket.
Liu Ran was as she had requested, dressed extremely lightly—hardly different from wearing just underwear. Her tail was tucked between her legs out of shame, the tip twitching. That large, round gold bead dangled at the tip, twitching along with it.
Immediately after, Liu Ran proactively nudged her head into Ming Siyu’s embrace, her furry wolf ears rubbing against her arm. Because she was so ashamed and nervous, her voice carried a bit of a sob: “Master…”
She didn’t dare look up at Ming Siyu. Seeing the other party didn’t react, she thought her calling wasn’t satisfactory and called again: “Master, please…”
Her tail also rose tremblingly.
She thought in a panic: why hasn’t Ming Siyu touched her yet? Are her ears not pressed close enough?
Looking at the scene in front of her that made her face flush and her heart skip a beat, Ming Siyu finally realized what it meant for the spirit to be willing but the flesh to be weak.
The hot and seductive little wolf was proactively enticing her, yet because of the diarrhea, she could only lie there half-dead.
And her body had an untimely reaction.
Ming Siyu felt extremely frustrated. She gave the wolf ear a pinch, forcing Liu Ran to look up with damp eyes.
“You ran off without listening to the whole sentence. I didn’t tell you to do this today. I’m unwell; even if you call me ‘Master’ until your voice is hoarse, it won’t help. Wait until next time.”
Liu Ran breathed a sigh of relief, yet at the same time felt an inexplicable sense of loss.
She wrapped the blanket back around herself tightly, leaving only her head exposed.
“Do you want to warm your stomach?”
When she was a child and had diarrhea, her mother would use a hot water bottle to warm her stomach; it was warm and comfortable, and the cold sensation brought by the diarrhea would vanish faster.
Ming Siyu lay there lazily: “How to warm it?”
Liu Ran recalled carefully; she didn’t think she had ever seen such a thing as a hot water bottle in this house. No matter—without a hot water bottle, there was the physical method of generating heat through friction.
She pressed her palms together and rubbed them as fast as possible, like a fly rubbing its hands. After rubbing for a while, she stopped. As if holding something she was desperate to throw away, she urged Ming Siyu urgently: “President Ming, stomach, give me your stomach.”
Ming Siyu had just pulled the covers up a little when Liu Ran’s hands slipped inside. One hand was placed on her lower abdomen and the other on her stomach. Even through the pajamas, she could feel the traces of heat coming from those hands.
The little wolf had a serious expression. Ming Siyu’s stomach gradually warmed up, and the cold feeling from the diarrhea slowly vanished, yet her heart grew cold bit by bit.
Liu Ran was obedient to her because she had agreed to let her go to school.
Ming Siyu had figured out Liu Ran’s temperament: whenever she gave Liu Ran something, Liu Ran would be exceptionally well-behaved, as if in exchange for the gift. People like Liu Ran, who are thin-skinned, are like this—when they receive something, they always think about giving back and are unwilling to receive for nothing. Unlike her; if others gave her something, her being willing to accept was already giving the other party face.
Of course, Liu Ran had been well-behaved for a long time, but she would be especially well-behaved after receiving something.
Whenever Liu Ran was well-behaved, she was satisfied and would think about giving more things, and Liu Ran would become even better after receiving them.
It was a virtuous cycle.
Including finding a school for Liu Ran. Her intention was also to give Liu Ran a gift she desired; in exchange, Liu Ran would surely give her a submissive little wolf.
However, the balance of the exchange showed signs of being broken.
Ming Siyu knew the problem was on her end. She was trying to remove the weight from one side of the scale while expecting the scale to remain balanced.
She wasn’t satisfied with the status quo. Not satisfied with Liu Ran being good to her as an exchange. She wanted Liu Ran to be good to her even if she didn’t give a gift—to use her hands to warm her stomach like this when she was unwell.
Not satisfied with Liu Ran risking her life to save her simply because she didn’t want to see an acquaintance die, but because she didn’t want her to die. Didn’t want Ming Siyu to die.
Ming Siyu was a businesswoman and knew all too well that wanting a return without paying was a trap, a scam.
Yet now she wanted to pay nothing and get all of Liu Ran.
She wanted the loyalty of Liu Ran’s soul.
Wanted Liu Ran’s meticulous care.
Wanted Liu Ran to still have long-lasting memories of her after she died.
Ming Siyu thought of He Qiange’s suggestion: marking.
Using pheromones to build an inseparable bond, using pheromones to force Liu Ran to sacrifice everything for her.
She previously felt this was too cruel for Liu Ran and forgot it after hearing it. Now she remembered it again.
Liu Ran warmed for a while, and since her hands weren’t as warm anymore, she pulled them out to rub again. After finishing, she reached back in to warm Ming Siyu again, noticing that Ming Siyu’s expression hadn’t just not improved, but seemed to have gotten worse.
“Is it not effective?” Liu Ran talked to herself, wondering if she was warming the wrong place.
Both hands were on Ming Siyu’s stomach, and the thin blanket on her body loosened, falling to her waist. From Ming Siyu’s angle, she could see those indelible burn scars under her ribs, and she immediately became even more displeased.
“How exactly did Miao Qinglan treat you? How long did you stay under her?”
Ming Siyu didn’t hide her words; she asked whatever was on her mind.
It caught Liu Ran completely off guard.
The topic jumped too fast.
Ming Siyu had never cared about her past before.
But there was nothing that couldn’t be said. Liu Ran thought about it and could only recall many days and nights without daylight, sometimes even without light, where she could only smell blood.
Part of the memory was blurred, and speaking of it now, she was understated: “She has violent tendencies, possibly a bipolar disorder or a manic episode. She would quiet down when she smelled blood. Using a knife to cut, a whip to lash, punching and kicking… I was locked in a basement and tied with very thick, heavy chains. It wasn’t long, about two months.”
Miao Qinglan disliked that she gave no reaction, like a dead person. After Liu Ran found an opportunity and nearly strangled Miao Qinglan with the iron chain, Miao Qinglan finally sent her back to the lab.
After being tortured by Miao Qinglan for two months, she lay in the lab for at least half a year before recovering.
“Why ask this suddenly?”
Ming Siyu rose from the pillow and reached out to stroke under Liu Ran’s ribs. “I suddenly saw this and thought it was very ugly.”
Liu Ran pursed her lips and pulled the thin blanket up to cover those marks.
The balance of the scale was broken. Ming Siyu was in a terrible mood and desperately needed an outlet.
Miao Qinglan had simply brought herself to the door.
Ming Siyu lay back down, signaling Liu Ran to continue her job as a stomach-warming worker, and sent a message to Secretary Wen.
“Check if Miao Qinglan has taken on any new endorsements lately. Find a way to get rid of them and replace her with our artists.”
