Becoming the Comfort Alpha for the Aloof Movie Queen - Chapter 56.2
Liang Ruojing nodded and casually sent a message to Tang Yuecen: “Thanks for the hard work.”
Without waiting for a reply, she put her phone down and went to take her position to help the lighting crew adjust.
Ming Tanqing stood before her. Her makeup had been adjusted further from before; a few stray hairs drifted by her temples, her face was pale, and the prop team had drawn a streak of blood under her eye.
Like a finishing touch, it brought out a bone-chilling beauty.
Liang Ruojing blushed shamefully.
While Liang Ruojing was observing Ming Tanqing, Ming Tanqing was also observing the Alpha in front of her.
A top-tier actor’s observation of micro-expressions was terrifyingly detailed.
Confirmed: Liang Ruojing was still angry.
Ming Tanqing’s brow twitched slightly. In an instant, she tucked away the melancholy in her eyes completely.
After looking at each other for a few minutes, the script supervisor hit the clapperboard.
“Scene 75, Take 1, Action!”
“Why!” Liang Ruojing entered the character instantly, her body like a crouching leopard, exploding with immense power in an instant.
“Why would you do this!”
Liang Ruojing shouted with a resounding voice. Her amber eyes were filled with sorrow, every word dripping with blood.
Ming Tanqing looked stunned. Two seconds later, she snapped out of it and covered her mouth with a light cough: “Sorry, I forgot my lines. Let’s do it again.”
Liang Ruojing offered stiff concern: “We could film tomorrow instead. It’s still a while before New Year’s Eve.”
“Aren’t you going home for the New Year?”
“I!” Liang Ruojing turned her head away, unwilling to look into those eyes. “It’s fine if it’s a day late.”
Ming Tanqing handed the script to her assistant, catching a glimpse of the sulking Alpha out of the corner of her eye. “No need. I’m leaving after we finish filming today.”
Liang Ruojing’s head felt as if it had been struck by a blunt object—it was buzzing. “What about the wrap party?”
“No need, too many paparazzi,” Ming Tanqing looked directly at her and added, “I have a flight tomorrow morning.”
Liang Ruojing was now fully in character.
Her heart, just like Han Jiahe’s, was being thrown onto the ground and stepped on by the woman in front of her.
What a heartless Omega!
During the second take, both of them were in a great state. Ming Tanqing perfectly portrayed Sun Ying’s endurance.
Liang Ruojing was also near-frenzied. She hated the person in front of her, yet loved her too. Extreme love and hate collided within her body, contributing to a perfect, flawless performance.
“Excellent!”
“That’s a wrap! Hard work, Sister Ming!”
The crew sent someone to present flowers. Ming Tanqing held them, good-naturedly taking photos and signing autographs for the people in the crew.
Liang Ruojing had mixed feelings. She hid back in the RV—out of sight, out of mind.
The set was too chaotic; no one noticed her departure.
Except for a pair of blue eyes, which followed her back until she was no longer in sight.
Ming Tanqing left the set.
Liang Ruojing felt as if she had lost her soul.
After going in circles, they seemed to have returned to their original relationship.
Tang Yuecen only arrived after finishing work. She had heard from Huahua about Liang Ruojing’s strange behavior.
Pushing the door open, she saw the Alpha with her face buried in her arms, looking depressed, having barely eaten her food.
Liang Ruojing heard the noise but didn’t move.
“Sister Tang.”
She sounded like a high schooler. Tang Yuecen couldn’t stand the “pining Alpha, resentful Omega” atmosphere—it was better just to date.
“The trending search was taken down, you know that?”
“Mhm.”
“The marketing accounts have backed off, and there are water soldiers speaking up for you.”
“I know,” Liang Ruojing’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Tang Yuecen. “You’re still the best to me.”
Tang Yuecen was speechless.
“Why are you getting mushy with me? I can’t pull off public relations like that. Ming Tanqing was the one who took it down!”
Liang Ruojing sat bolt upright instantly, her soul returning. “For real?”
“Qi Lin was the one who helped suppress the secret photos the day before yesterday. Ming Tanqing has been popular for over twenty years; they are very experienced.”
So… yesterday morning was for her sake?
Liang Ruojing only now understood that phrase “Someone will care for you.” She was filled with regret. She had actually bought flowers this afternoon.
She had chosen them specifically and ordered them a week in advance.
“Can you tell me earlier next time!”
Liang Ruojing had thought her blind displays of affection and lack of boundaries had angered Ming Tanqing.
Tang Yuecen remained silent.
If Liang Ruojing hadn’t been so excessively despondent, she wouldn’t have said anything.
Liang Ruojing ran straight out.
“Where are you going!”
“Back to the hotel!”
Qi Lin dropped Ming Tanqing off at the hotel. Seeing her looking unwell, she asked with concern, “Do you still feel sick? I told you to rest earlier.”
Ming Tanqing lay back on the sofa and closed her eyes, refusing any further conversation.
“I’m fine.”
Qi Lin hesitated for a moment. “Where is Xiao Liang? Are you two having a spat?”
“I don’t know. Maybe she’s angry.”
Ming Tanqing couldn’t forget the look Liang Ruojing gave her yesterday.
Qi Lin wanted to speak but was politely cut off by the Omega.
“Sister Qi, I want to sleep for a bit by myself.”
Ming Tanqing had always had a cold personality. Qi Lin had thought Liang Ruojing could warm her up, but…
Ultimately, it was a matter between the two of them; it wasn’t her place to say more. She offered a few more words of concern and then left.
The large suite returned to being empty and quiet.
Having been away for a day, the intertwined pheromones that once filled the room had long since dissipated.
Ming Tanqing closed her eyes to feel, but she could only smell her newly born lily fragrance.
It held a bit more chill than her previous floral scent; if one sniffed closely, one could even detect the herbal scent of mint.
After showering, the Alpha’s pheromones felt more present.
Though not as pure or pleasant as when they were near her actual gland, they still helped soothe the Omega’s post-temporary marking dependence on the Alpha.
Ming Tanqing lay on the bed.
Without a “heater” beside her, she couldn’t help but feel cold.
Her new gland couldn’t quite control the pheromones yet. The more Ming Tanqing released, the emptier she felt.
It was as if she were falling from ten thousand meters—unable to see the ground, with nothing to catch her.
Suddenly, there was a frantic knocking at the door.
Ming Tanqing found it strange; she remembered hanging the “Do Not Disturb” sign.
After a minute, the knocking continued, but the frequency decreased, as if the person were hesitating.
Left with no choice, Ming Tanqing got up. Her beautiful eyes were narrowed with a trace of irritable exhaustion as she walked to the living room.
Her footsteps suddenly slowed.
It was as if she had stepped into a thicket of mint. The tender green leaves rubbed against her affectionately, shedding all aggression, coiling up from her insteps like a spoiled child.
The scene felt familiar.
Ming Tanqing continued forward and saw several pieces of cardstock being slid through the crack of the hotel door.
The first card: “Sister Tanqing, it’s Liang Ruojing.”
The second card: “I’m sorry, are you still angry?”
The third card: “Let’s make up.”
Ming Tanqing let out a soft laugh as she saw the drawing of a dog and a cat in the corner of the card.
Outside the door, Liang Ruojing leaned against the wall, biting her pen cap as she scribbled. With a “swish,” she finished another one.
She had just crouched down to slide it through the door crack.
Click. The door opened.
A pair of fairs, delicate ankles appeared in her field of vision.
Liang Ruojing looked up, falling into the shadow cast by the Omega.
Ming Tanqing had her arms crossed, looking down at her.
“I recall someone saying she wasn’t angry.”
Liang Ruojing stood up quickly, hiding the card she had just written behind her back, her face flushing red. “Sister Tanqing, I’m sorry.”
“Give it to me,” Ming Tanqing held out her hand, flicking her wrist. “Wasn’t it written for me?”
Liang Ruojing sheepishly handed over the card.
The last card read:
Can you forgive me?
YES OR YES
