Becoming the Comfort Alpha for the Aloof Movie Queen - Chapter 25
A heart-piercing itch.
Liang Ruojing was wandering in a beautiful dream when she suddenly smelled a soul-stirring fragrance—light and joyful.
The instinct of an Alpha urged her to seek more, and the dry heat at the back of her neck startled her awake.
Rubbing her eyes, Liang Ruojing followed the scent of lilies to the front of the walk-in closet.
The door was half-open, and the sound of fabric rubbing came from behind it.
Outside was a dim twilight, with only the lights in the closet turned on.
To Liang Ruojing, Ming Tanqing looked as if she were standing under a spotlight.
In that instant, Liang Ruojing forgot to breathe.
An extreme whiteness, with pink at the joints.
Like moonlight, like peach blossoms.
Ming Tanqing sensed the burning gaze and turned her head.
“Who is it!”
She had been discovered.
Liang Ruojing’s heart throbbed wildly, her mind filled with the images she had just seen.
In the past, when she was acting, she had seen scenes with even greater levels of exposure.
But when it was a different person, everything changed. She became clumsy and reckless, taking a step back and accidentally knocking over a nearby ornament, falling down in the process.
“Ow!”
So embarrassing.
By the time Liang Ruojing struggled to climb up from the floor, Ming Tanqing had already changed her clothes. She wore a slim-fitting indigo midi dress; the hem swayed below her knees, and her calves were slender, white, and well-proportioned.
As she moved, the smooth fabric reflected flowing colors. Liang Ruojing stared at the shifting curves, savoring the moment again.
Ming Tanqing walked up to her, her pale blue eyes narrowing dangerously.
“Miss Liang, does it look good?”
What kind of question was that!
Answering “it looks good” wouldn’t do, and “it doesn’t look good” wouldn’t do either.
Finally, Liang Ruojing chose to follow her heart and gave a tiny, secret nod.
“Hmm?”
Ming Tanqing raised an eyebrow.
“No!” Liang Ruojing finally began to panic as her reason returned. “I heard a noise over here and came to check, I didn’t mean to…”
There was a deathly silence in the small room.
Liang Ruojing blurted out mindlessly, “Sister Ming, you should punish me!”
Ming Tanqing burst out laughing.
From the moment she turned her head, she knew the reason—she was used to living alone and hadn’t closed the closet door; she couldn’t blame the Alpha.
Furthermore, it was just a back; Ming Tanqing wasn’t one to get angry over it.
The Alpha’s reaction, however, was interesting.
A temporary marking was even more intimate; why was she so bold then?
Ming Tanqing straightened her expression, feigning a magnanimous air of anger. “Forget it this time. Remember to knock next time.”
Liang Ruojing naturally felt as if she had been granted a grand amnesty, following up with a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Sister Ming.”
The next second, the scent of lilies suddenly became intense. Ming Tanqing had somehow leaned in close to Liang Ruojing, staring straight into her eyes.
Her eyes were full of playfulness.
As if she were enjoying the Alpha’s panic.
Liang Ruojing was startled by the conclusion she reached. Before she could speak, a slender hand rested on her shoulder.
The corners of Ming Tanqing’s mouth curled up. She brushed past the Alpha nonchalantly, her fingers lightly grazing the Alpha’s neck. Her index finger hooked into the silk scarf, and with a bit of force, she pulled it off.
“Miss Liang, it’s time for lunch.”
The person had already walked away. Liang Ruojing stood frozen in place; her fingers pressed against her neck.
The itching sensation as the scarf was stripped away was unforgettable, along with the icy touch of the Omega’s fingertips engraved on her heart.
She wasn’t hungry, but she was craving.
During lunch, Liang Ruojing observed Ming Tanqing’s appetite.
It was very small.
Liang Ruojing ate more even when she was dieting.
Was her appetite always this small?
Or had her tastes worsened after getting sick?
While she was thinking, Ming Tanqing finished her meal. She had work to do in the afternoon, so she went up to the study on the third floor alone.
Liang Ruojing received new materials from Tang Yuecen and studied them in the living room on the second floor all afternoon.
Because she had something to say to Ming Tanqing, her heart couldn’t settle down.
It wasn’t until 10 PM, when both had finished washing up and were preparing for bed, that Liang Ruojing finally found the time.
Ming Tanqing had finished blow-drying her hair. Her loose black hair shimmered with moisture, enveloping her in a soft, domestic aura.
Lately, she always read for half an hour before bed. Liang Ruojing cautiously climbed onto the bed; she acted very properly, but her eyes were bold as she stared at the Omega.
She was wearing glasses again.
So beautiful.
Ming Tanqing lightly turned a page and spoke indifferently, “If you have something to say, just say it.”
Liang Ruojing snapped out of it and finally spoke what was on her mind.
“Sister Ming, do you remember Han Jiahe, the female lead of The Pursuit of Revenge?”
“Yes. What about it?”
Liang Ruojing tried not to let her tone sound too proud. “I was chosen.”
“Congratulations,” Ming Tanqing put down her book and turned to look at the Alpha. “You acted very well during the audition that day.”
Liang Ruojing’s mood instantly brightened.
She also had doubts.
Liang Ruojing instinctively leaned toward Ming Tanqing, her hands propped on the bed:
“If I join the crew, what about the pheromones? Director Lin said the shoot will take three months, and I join the crew next Monday.”
This movement made her look even more like a Golden Retriever.
Ming Tanqing retracted her gaze and unfolded her book again.
She tossed out a sentence lightly.
“It’s simple. I’ll go with you.”
“Huh?!” Liang Ruojing’s eyes widened.
What Ming Tanqing described was known in the industry as “following the production.”
For non-crew members to follow a production, putting aside the hardships, it was definitely boring.
Aside from assistants, only very loving actor couples would choose to follow a production.
Liang Ruojing’s voice trembled. “It will be very boring. Or I can come out every night, no trouble!”
She was too panicked to notice the curl at the corner of Ming Tanqing’s mouth.
“It’s fine. You’re filming at Huafeng, right? I have a scene at the same filming base as well. An old friend asked me to play a guest role.”
After saying that, she waved the book in her hand toward Liang Ruojing.
Liang Ruojing knew this book; it was a winner of a literary prize a few years ago, and the film adaptation had started production this year.
Oh.
So that was it.
Liang Ruojing’s blood ran cold, and her face silently turned blood-red.
The large Alpha secretly shrank back into the quilt.
What was she fantasizing about!!
Liang Ruojing took a few deep breaths and finally calmed down, but then a voice exploded in her ears again.
“But my scenes don’t start until next week. It’s too conspicuous to book a separate room, so I expect I’ll have to stay with you for the first week.”
Ah!
Liang Ruojing’s mood was no different from a roller coaster.
“But…”
“But what? Not used to it?” Ming Tanqing took off her glasses. Her gaze was cool, but now it held a bit of teasing. “After all, Miss Liang’s sleeping posture is a bit… unbridled.”
Liang Ruojing froze.
It’s not me!
As soon as she finished speaking, the bedroom light went out.
Ming Tanqing: “Goodnight.”
Liang Ruojing said sheepishly, “…Goodnight.”
How could she wrongly accuse someone?
Liang Ruojing felt a bit of resentment in her heart and deliberately slept a bit closer to the edge.
In a daze, another arm rested on her waist.
Liang Ruojing was woken by the scent of lilies.
Under the moonlight, Ming Tanqing’s sleeping face was serene and beautiful.
Push her away.
Liang Ruojing raised her hand and gently grasped the Omega’s shoulder.
Half a minute passed.
She didn’t move.
She really couldn’t bear to.
Liang Ruojing resignedly lay flat.
It’s over.
You’re really finished.
The next morning, Liang Ruojing made a point to get up before Ming Tanqing woke.
She had to go to the company this morning for a small internal meeting. At noon, Qin Wei helped her set up a casual lunch with Lin Xiuzhu.
When Ming Tanqing woke up, she found herself resting on Liang Ruojing’s pillow.
The Alpha’s pheromones had seeped into the fabric, faintly teasing the Omega’s nerves. Yet it wasn’t enough; instead, she felt a sense of emptiness.
After a temporary marking, an Omega becomes exceptionally dependent on an Alpha’s scent and must have pheromones replenished in a timely manner.
If it weren’t for the fact that the gland on the back of Ming Tanqing’s neck was too swollen and needed a few days of rest, Liang Ruojing would have had to inject pheromones every day.
She didn’t need to look hard.
The Omega directly located the Alpha.
Liang Ruojing was washing up and greeted her warmly, “Sister Ming, good morning!”
Through the mirror, she saw a slightly disheveled Ming Tanqing with her eyes barely open, like a lazy Persian cat.
Ming Tanqing crossed her arms, leaning against the doorframe.
At this distance, she could just catch the scent of cool mint liquor, but not so strong as to evoke unnecessary desire.
Ming Tanqing narrowed her eyes with satisfaction and asked, “Why up so early? Are you going out today?”
Liang Ruojing nodded. “I’m going to the company for a small meeting. I might come back quite late.”
“How late?” Ming Tanqing subconsciously moved a bit closer to Liang Ruojing.
Since she was about to join the crew, Tang Yuecen certainly had things to discuss with her, and Liang Ruojing also had to go back to her apartment to pack her bags.
She estimated the time: “Probably around 9 PM. I’ll eat out.”
Ming Tanqing frowned.
She was clearly angry, yet her tone remained exceptionally calm.
“Then work hard.”
After saying that, Ming Tanqing left the bathroom.
By the time Liang Ruojing came back out, she had already changed her clothes into a medium-high collar gray base shirt paired with black suit pants. She no longer looked like a lazy Persian cat, but like a cold boss from an urban drama.
The cold boss was a little angry.
Liang Ruojing had a moment of cleverness and flattered her before heading out.
“Sister Ming, do you want to overwrite the mark? I’ll be back late, and Dr. Fang said it’s best not to break the cycle.”
Ming Tanqing turned to glance at the Alpha.
Liang Ruojing’s gaze was sincere, her light brown eyes reflecting the Omega’s image.
She felt down because the person in front of her was down, and happy because the person in front of her was happy.
Was this also the influence of pheromones?
Ming Tanqing retracted her gaze, feeling unfamiliar with her own emotions.
“Alright.”
The overwriting of the mark still took place in the bedroom.
To avoid rubbing against the gland, Ming Tanqing had been wearing her hair up for the past few days, and today was no exception. She had tied it in a high ponytail, which made her look very capable.
Liang Ruojing gently brushed away the stray hairs at the back of the Omega’s neck. The moment she saw the gland clearly, waves of guilt surged within her.
She had bitten this?
The small, rounded Omega gland was covered in bite marks and was swollen all over. It was clear that it had been treated roughly—not just bitten, but sucked into someone’s mouth and ground with teeth to become so red.
Liang Ruojing extended a finger and tapped the Omega’s gland.
“Mm!”
Ming Tanqing let out a long breath. An intense numbness quickly spread through her body, and the tips of her ears turned red instantly.
“Don’t touch it,” Ming Tanqing turned her head, leaving Liang Ruojing with a back that couldn’t quite be called stiff. “Hurry up.”
Liang Ruojing couldn’t help but feel pained.
“Sister Ming, let me help you apply medicine when I get back.”
“Why don’t you just hit me.”
In fact, she had been hit.
The more she was struck, the harder the Alpha bit.
By the end, Ming Tanqing had no strength left.
Liang Ruojing’s clumsiness always managed to dissipate the heaviness in Ming Tanqing’s heart.
She sighed, giving up on being angry with Liang Ruojing and, even more so, giving up on blaming herself.
The Omega’s voice became gentle. “We’ll talk about next time later. This time, be gentler.”
“Okay.”
Liang Ruojing carefully pulled the Omega into her arms. Ming Tanqing was so grand in her heart, yet she felt quite thin and fragile in her embrace.
Liang Ruojing silently held her tight. She lowered her head, and her lips landed like a pilgrimage on the skin to the left of the Omega’s gland.
Ming Tanqing bit her lip, feeling the Alpha’s burning breath spray across her most sensitive skin.
Slowness became a form of torture instead. Starting from the gland, Ming Tanqing’s entire body was ignited by Liang Ruojing’s tender kisses; like being pulled into a whirlpool, she craved deeper contact.
And the Alpha’s pheromones.
As if hearing the Omega’s longing, Liang Ruojing released her pheromones, wrapping the Omega in layers like an eggshell.
Ming Tanqing’s thoughts became light. She breathed deeply, letting her feelings be completely dominated by the Alpha.
The soft lips at the back of her neck rubbed over bit by bit. Liang Ruojing didn’t bite; instead, she gently kissed the Omega’s gland. She extended her tongue, soothing it like a cat grooming fur.
“Ah!” Ming Tanqing’s body instinctively curled up, a moving red spreading across her face.
“Xiao Jing!”
Liang Ruojing tightened her arms and finally bit into the Omega’s soft, hot gland.
The scent of mint liquor pheromones flooded into the Omega’s body.
The hurried breathing by her ear was the best reward.
It turned out that a cold tone could be so varied, so soft it could drown a person.
Having learned her lesson, Liang Ruojing didn’t inject too much this time; just enough was sufficient.
Ming Tanqing slumped into the Alpha’s arms like she had just finished a hot bath, her entire mind and body relaxed.
The Alpha’s pheromones drifted out, gently catching any of the Omega’s emotions.
Ming Tanqing thought dizzily.
If Liang Ruojing had released just a little more just now, she probably would have been induced by the Alpha into her heat period.
