Doudou’s little face dropped instantly, but he quickly pumped himself back up, offering a comforting pat to Bai Shu’s shoulder.

“Doudou will keep working hard. More people will like Zhushu in the future.”

With that, he reassuringly patted Bai Shu’s back with his little hand, pressing his soft cheek against his neck.

Feeling a bit self-conscious, Bai Shu gave a shy, bashful nod. “Lots of people like Zhushu, too.”

With that, he set the child back down on his feet.

Instead of standing, Doudou immediately leaped forward and clamped onto his older brother’s leg, hanging off him like a koala. “Yay! Zhushu is so great, of course people are going to like him!”

Only then did Bai Shu feel something was amiss. “You little dummy, you have to call me older brother! You can’t call me Zhushu!”
