Chapter 47: Don’t Push Your Limits with Alcohol, It’s Easy to Flip Over and Turn into a Leaking Sieve!!
As soon as Ji Yunfei spoke, she instantly ignited the excitement of the crowd. They stopped “sieging” Xie Yin and turned their glasses toward Ji Yunfei instead.
“Since Little Ji has put it that way, let’s see what you’ve got!”
“Pull it out for a stroll and let’s see if it’s a mule or a horse!”
“I’ll go first!” Baldy, who was already tipsy, stepped forward. His face was as red as a boiled shrimp as he shook his empty glass, waiting for Ji Yunfei’s move.
“Manager has a great tolerance; I’ll join you for one!” Since she had made up her mind to draw the fire away from Xie Yin, she wasn’t about to back down. Ji Yunfei filled her glass and, without hesitation, downed the entire contents.
If anyone had looked closely, they would have noticed a faint lipstick mark remaining on the rim where her lips touched…
This was the glass Xie Yin had just used.
Belatedly realizing this, Ji Yunfei’s face flushed a deep crimson—it was hard to tell if it was the alcohol or the shame of sharing a glass with Xie Yin.
She stole a glance at Xie Yin. The other woman stood there with her arms crossed, a mysterious smile playing on her lips.
Great. The burning sensation on her face grew even hotter.
“Come on, another one!” Except for Ji Yunfei and the owner of the glass, Xie Yin, no one noticed that tiny detail. Seeing Ji Yunfei drink it all in one go, they raised their glasses one after another, scrambling to “compete” with her.
Faced with such a formation, Ji Yunfei felt a bit apprehensive. But the thought of Xie Yin watching from behind forced her to bite the bullet.
No matter what, she couldn’t let Xie Yin look down on her.
Amidst the clinking of glasses, the rose-colored flush on her face grew more vivid, like a red veil draped over her features. Her gaze gradually lost its clarity, becoming misty; the hall lights reflected in her pupils appeared even more blurred and dreamy.
She didn’t know how many times she raised her glass or how much wine she had poured down her throat. By the time she came to her senses, the drinking had gone on for three rounds, and Xie Yin was nowhere to be found.
Looking at those around her, most had dispersed, leaving only a few incoherent drunks waiting for “rescue.”
And Ji Yunfei had inevitably become one of them.
Having downed too much alcohol at once, her stomach felt like a ball of fire was scorching it. A continuous stinging pain radiated from her gut.
“Ugh—” She curled up, her brows furrowing tightly. Before the stinging pain could subside, a wave of nausea surged like a rolling sea, wave after wave—it was pure torture.
“Feizi!” Chi Chang’s worried shout rang in her ear, and someone began patting her back with moderate force. Something in her stomach felt like it was about to erupt.
“Stop—”
“I’m going to puke… don’t let me do it here—”
“Find Xie Yin…” In the last moment of consciousness, Ji Yunfei called out Xie Yin’s name. As for what Chi Chang did next, she didn’t know.
When Xie Yin returned, what she saw was Chi Chang, struggling to break free from someone clinging to her leg, and the “shameless rascal” Ji Yunfei lying on the ground.
“CEO Xie—!” Seeing Xie Yin, Chi Chang looked as if she had seen a savior, shouting for help with a miserable expression.
The little “accessory” Ji Yunfei, who was clinging to Chi Chang’s leg like a koala, saw it was Xie Yin, and her eyes instantly lit up.
She used a high-pitched, coquettish voice: “Hehe… Yin-Yin~”
“Is she drunk again…?”
“Actually, that makes sense… with her tolerance… how could she handle that much…?”
“CEO Xie, you better pull her away quickly—”
“This girl gets incredibly clingy when she’s drunk… she just grabs anyone she can find…” Chi Chang shook off the person gripping her leg, pressed her hands together in a gesture of thanks to Xie Yin, and then vanished into the distance without looking back.
“Mmm… Yin-Yin~”
“I finally found you—” Feeling the weight on her leg, Xie Yin looked down to see that Ji Yunfei had somehow moved from her original spot to her feet. She was currently hugging Xie Yin’s leg, rubbing her head against it.
“You dummy…”
“If you can’t drink, don’t push yourself…” Xie Yin poked Ji Yunfei’s head with her finger, her tone carrying a hint of helpless amusement. She really hadn’t expected “Dummy Ji” to step up and block the drinks for her, let alone end up in this state.
She didn’t even ask about Xie Yin’s tolerance before jumping in. Truly reckless.
“I can still drink! Everyone, come drink with me!”
“No one is allowed to go to Xie Yin…” After Xie Yin picked her up in a princess carry, the person in her arms wouldn’t stay still. She reached out, pinched Xie Yin’s face, and started talking drunkenly.
Ji Yunfei’s palms were burning hot against her face. The heat from those palms seemed to transfer through the touch; gradually, the temperature on both their faces leveled out.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, Xie Yin quickly carried the drunkard out of the hall and back to the hotel suite.
“Hmph—” Her body sank into softness, as if falling onto a giant marshmallow. Ji Yunfei groaned, her hands beginning to wander restlessly. As she groped around, she touched a “fuzzy” object.
Her hand tightened instinctively, and she heard a woman’s cry of pain. She groggily opened her eyes to realize she was gripping a head of hair.
“Mm… want Yin-Yin…” The alcohol-clouded Ji Yunfei couldn’t see the face clearly. She only remembered she needed to find Xie Yin, so she struggled to get out of bed.
“She’ll be here in a moment… stay put and be good.” Xie Yin chuckled, reaching out to block her.
The Ji Yunfei who was blocked back onto the bed immediately felt wronged. She pouted, her eyes full of reluctance.
“No—I want to find her…”
“Don’t let anyone else take advantage of her…”
“Take advantage?” Hearing this, Xie Yin became intrigued. She started asking questions, wanting to probe Ji Yunfei’s inner thoughts.
But she didn’t expect that with one probe, Ji Yunfei would become like a “leaking sieve,” pouring out everything she had been holding in her heart.
“She’s too good…”
“So… so many people around her…”
“I’m jealous…”
“She’s mine!”
“Right, right, she’s yours…”
“You like her a lot?” Xie Yin leaned into Ji Yunfei’s ear, coaxing her in a low voice.
Ji Yunfei looked as if she had heard something unbelievable. She furrowed one brow, her misty eyes full of defiance.
“Who are you? How can you doubt me?”
“Of course I like her…”
“I like her so much!”
“Then why haven’t you acted yet?”
“If you like her so much, why aren’t you dating her?”
At the mention of dating, Ji Yunfei dazed for a moment, seemingly deep in thought. After a while, she tumbled out of bed and staggered along the wall toward her suitcase.
“Mm… where is it? Why can’t I find it?”
“Ah, found it!” Ji Yunfei pulled a knitted bag from the suitcase, containing a square box. Xie Yin’s heart stirred. Just as she was about to step forward, she was spooked by a glare from the other woman that looked like she might bite.
“Don’t come over!” Ji Yunfei plopped onto the floor, leaning back and baring her teeth. Her two upper canine teeth were visible—she looked like a little tiger protecting its food.
Well… not quite. She was more like a kitten waving its paws…
All bark and no bite…
“Okay, I won’t come over. But can you tell me what that is?” Xie Yin raised her hands and took a step back to disarm the person on the floor.
“You’re not Xie Yin… I won’t tell you…”
“Is it for her?”
“Hehe, of course.” At the mention of Xie Yin, the flush on Ji Yunfei’s face deepened, her eyes filled with an intense excitement.
“Since you’re so curious… I’ll tell you just this once…”
“This is the confession gift for Yin-Yin!”
Thump-thump—thump-thump— The world seemed to lose all sound. Except for her heart beating like thunder, Xie Yin could hear nothing else.
“Hey, where are you going…?”
“What a strange person…”
Ignoring the drunkard still giggling on the floor, Xie Yin clutched her chest, feeling her heart beating wildly out of rhythm. She rushed into the bathroom, cupping cold water and splashing it onto her stunning face.
Her exquisite makeup smeared, and the clear water turned murky, dripping from her chin into the sink. Seeing this, Xie Yin simply removed all her makeup, using the time to calm her racing heart.
She felt a mix of regret for finding out about the confession plan early, and a surge of excitement…
The blockhead had finally seen the light. She had finally waited for it.
By the time Xie Yin walked out of the bathroom, the room was silent, with only the sound of rhythmic breathing echoing in the air.
Xie Yin sighed softly and gently picked up Ji Yunfei, who was lying spread-eagle on the floor.
Thump— The sound of an object hitting the floor rang out. The knitted bag Ji Yunfei had been hiding behind her back had fallen.
Xie Yin’s hand reached out uncontrollably. A desire within her screamed for her to open that mysterious Pandora’s bag and glimpse the secret inside.
“I can’t…” The light and dark sides of her heart wrestled. Eventually, Xie Yin suppressed her restless hand. She picked up the bag and gently placed it back where it had come from.
“Since it’s a surprise… it’s better to reveal it at the right time.”
After tidying the suitcase, she finally moved the person in her arms back to the bed. As soon as she touched the soft mattress, Ji Yunfei rolled to the inner side, taking the quilt with her and wrapping herself into a “Feifei Zongzi” (rice dumpling).
Xie Yin walked to the side where Ji Yunfei had rolled and crouched down. The person sleeping soundly seemed to be dreaming of something; her brows were knitting together, and she hummed softly.
Unconsciously, Xie Yin reached out and smoothed the furrowed brow. She then gently placed a kiss on the white, smooth forehead. The expression of the person on the bed gradually relaxed, returning to tranquility.
“Yin-Yin…”
Hearing her name called softly, Xie Yin thought Ji Yunfei was uncomfortable. She leaned closer to her mouth to hear more clearly.
“I like you…”
History had a strange way of repeating itself. She couldn’t help but think of the scene where she had first used the excuse of being incoherent to secretly express her feelings.
Thinking of this, Xie Yin smiled and shook her head. She unwrapped the “Feifei Zongzi” and lay down beside Ji Yunfei. At first, she lay properly on her back, but gradually, her restless arm wound around the other’s waist, and her head shifted to rest on the other’s shoulder.
Under the dim light, the black and brown strands of hair were scattered across the bed. Inevitably, several strands intertwined and tangled, becoming inseparable—much like their owners.
Snap— The light went out, and darkness enveloped the space. Two shallow breaths rose and fell, eventually falling into the same rhythm.
Sweet dreams… A-Fei…
I look forward to your surprise.
