- Amnesiac Fiancé Married Another, So I Married His Brother
- Chapter 30 - Attempts to Smother with His Pecs
“I was wondering how the wedding dress fits so perfectly. Did your brother pick it out?”
Huo Xuanye wanted to murder someone!
Brother!
Was her mind only filled with thoughts of her brother?
Clearly, that night when she was with him, it had been her first time.
Her first time!!
Li Su’s first time belonged to him.
Though he didn’t mind, even if something had happened between Li Su and her brother before, he’d consider it normal.
After all, they’d been engaged for a year.
And her brother was still the cold, aloof gentleman he knew.
“I picked it.”
Huo Xuanye stood before her. “Li Su, I’ve held you before. I wouldn’t get your measurements wrong.”
Just because he’d held her, he knew her size that well?
But he hadn’t… held her chest before.
Huo Xuanye seemed to read her doubt. “Fine, I actually asked your stylist.”
The stylist knew best how Li Su’s body measurements had changed.
Lately, because of her brother’s disappearance, Li Su had lost some weight.
“That’s very thoughtful of you,” Li Su praised him gently.
The praise made Huo Xuanye’s ears turn slightly red.
“It’s nothing. Just doing what I should.”
“Do you like the dress?”
Li Su gave a slight nod. “It’s beautiful.”
Huo Xuanye’s heart swelled with pride, as if Li Su’s approval of the dress was also an approval of him.
After trying on the dress, their wedding rings arrived.
Li Su had insisted on custom-made with a big diamond.
And Huo Xuanye had indeed gotten her a massive diamond ring.
A huge square-cut gem sparkled brilliantly under the light, clearly worth a fortune.
Li Su tried it on. “It’s too extravagant.”
Huo Xuanye leaned in close, his breath warm against her cheek as he murmured, “My wife is the most luxurious flower in this world.”
“Huo Xuanye, why have you been so sweet lately?”
The old Huo Xuanye would never have spoken like this.
Seizing the chance, he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. “Want a taste?”
Li Su leaned back. “No.”
Huo Xuanye shot a glance, and the staff in the VIP room discreetly left.
Was this “Y”-shaped pose of theirs appropriate?
No, no.
His hand slid up her back, pressing against the bare skin exposed by the dress’s open back, pulling her flush against him. “Why not? Still mad at me?”
He pouted. “I’ve been sleeping in the guest room…”
He hadn’t even dared to disturb her last night.
Huo Xuanye’s chest rumbled with suppressed emotion. The man known for his arrogance and ruthlessness now gazed at her with puppy-dog eyes. “Isn’t this huge diamond enough to make my wife forgive me?”
“Even if you hadn’t made me angry, this ring would still be mine. It doesn’t count as an apology gift.” Li Su waved the ring. “Right?”
A wedding ring!
Trying to kill two birds with one stone, this shrewd businessman!
Devious.
“Got it. I’ll buy you another one. But can you give me a little reward first?” Huo Xuanye stared at her soft, pink lips, his throat dry, unconsciously licking his own.
He wanted to kiss her.
Because he had kissed her before, he craved it even more.
Once tasted, never forgotten, an addiction he couldn’t shake.
He knew exactly how soft and sweet Li Su’s lips felt.
“No.”
“Stingy.”
Frustrated, Huo Xuanye tightened his embrace, if she wouldn’t let him kiss her, she wasn’t leaving his arms alive.
He’d smother her with his pecs.
“Mmph…”
“Huo Xuanye…”
“You jerk…”
Li Su found her head pressed against his chest. Why did he have to work out his pecs so much? Did he want to be a male wet nurse?
Huo Xuanye loosened his grip slightly, allowing Li Su to lift her head and glare at him angrily.
The sight of the beauty pouting in anger was too adorable!!!
Mwah!
Li Su was caught off guard by his stolen kiss, the sound crisp and playful.
She wanted to slap him but feared it would only excite Huo Xuanye even more.
Li Su warned him, “Don’t ever smother me with your chest muscles again!”
“Alright, but if you bury yourself against my chest on your own, that doesn’t count as me smothering you, right?”
“It counts.”
“How is it my fault even when you’re the one initiating?” Huo Xuanye smirked roguishly. “Ah, whatever. We’re husband and wife, whatever you say goes. I’ll listen to you.”
What good was winning the argument with words?
What did it matter if he let her have the last word?
That night, when she clung to him, kissing him greedily, she had clearly enjoyed it.
So he’d keep working out!
He’d keep at it!
After leaving, the two leisurely sipped coffee, dined out, strolled around, and then returned to the hotel.
Accustomed to nights back home, being abroad felt a bit off.
Fresh out of the shower, Li Su saw the ever-flamboyant Huo Xuanye saunter in, clad in a loosely draped black robe, carrying an oversized box.
“A peace offering, my dear wife. Please accept it graciously.”
Seated on the edge of the bed, Li Su eyed the box skeptically. Jewelry and diamonds didn’t require such massive packaging, what on earth was inside?
A faint sense of unease crept over her. “Just leave it there. I’ll look at it tomorrow.”
“Check it now. How else will I know if my wife is satisfied?”
Huo Xuanye knelt before her, holding the black box with both hands. The ribbon tied around it didn’t look like the handiwork of a jewelry store employee, more like something this grown man had clumsily tied himself.
There had to be something else inside.
But whatever it was, surely it wasn’t anything scary.
Li Su opened it slowly, her eyes fixed on Huo Xuanye.
His usual nonchalant expression gave nothing away.
Inside, the top layer revealed an exquisite set of diamond butterfly jewelry: a pendant, a bracelet, and a pair of earrings.
Li Su had previously bought a set from this brand’s butterfly collection.
The one Huo Xuanye gifted her was another design from the same line.
He had a knack for choosing presents since she had bought from this series before, it meant she liked it. Gifting her another set from the same collection was a safe bet.
“Do you like it?”
“It’s alright~”
Li Su pointed at another box inside. “What’s this?”
“Open it.”
She did. Inside lay a pair of black high heels.
Red-soled stilettos.
A style that perfectly matched his beloved red-bottomed dress shoes.
But…
Li Su had a feeling Huo Xuanye hadn’t given her these shoes just to coordinate as a couple.
Huo Xuanye took out the heels and grasped her fair, delicate ankle. “Try them on.”
What was he doing?
Practicing for their wedding day?
No.
This was entirely for his own benefit.
Freak!
Li Su stomped on him hard. “Who wears high heels at this hour?”
“Just try them.”
It was Huo Xuanye’s first time helping a woman put on shoes. Even her feet were elegantly beautiful.
Once the heels were on, Li Su didn’t let her feet touch the ground, instead, she rested them on his thigh, smiling coquettishly. “Do you like them?”
“I do…”
Huo Xuanye wrapped his fingers around her other ankle, his thumb lightly stroking. “I love anything my wife gives me. I hate sleeping apart from you, I’ll never act so abstractly again.”
He meant it.
That night, he’d just been out of his mind.
And maybe he’d wanted to show off a little to his brother about his flirtations with Li Su.
Li Su gently held his face, her gaze tender: “If I ever argue with your brother or have a conflict, will you stand by my side or his?”
Under the soft lighting, with her hazy eyes and the faint, delicate fragrance in the air, his vision was filled with intoxicating allure. He had once indulged deeply, burying himself in the scent, and now his wife’s foot rested on his thigh.
Huo Xuanye’s breathing was heavy, his gaze blazing, a scorching desire roaring and churning within him. “You… I will always stand by my wife.”
