Amnesiac Fiancé Married Another, So I Married His Brother - Chapter 26
Not only was Chi Qingche surprised, but Huo Zhenzhou and Huo Xuanye were also taken aback.
Most people would conceal their emotions.
But Li Su simply didn’t bother pretending.
Her love for Huo Zhenzhou had indeed turned into hatred.
Huo Zhenzhou’s heart suddenly felt as if pricked by a needle, yet he had no memories of being with Li Su.
With a cold expression and tone, Huo Zhenzhou said, “You can dislike me, even hate me. But Tangtang and A’ye are innocent, don’t drag them into this.”
No!
He wanted to be dragged in.
He wanted to be entangled with her endlessly.
“Brother, I don’t mind,” Huo Xuanye quickly interjected, afraid that Li Su’s hatred for his brother would shift to him. “You should go check on your wife.”
Huo Zhenzhou replied, “Mom is with her. She’ll be fine.”
“If you say she’s fine, then she’s fine. It’s just a tiny little episode. You just got back, try to enjoy yourself.” Huo Xuanye casually picked up two glasses of wine, handing one to Huo Zhenzhou.
The brothers clinked glasses.
Meanwhile, Zhou Motang was changing clothes.
Xiao Qiyu sat on the sofa, her expression grim.
The curtain was drawn back, and the attendant helping her change stepped out. Zhou Motang now wore a black dress, her previously loose hair now elegantly pinned up, revealing her face.
“Mom, are you angry?”
Zhou Motang slowly walked toward Xiao Qiyu. “I’m sorry, Mom. I was just so upset earlier. That was the dress you gave me, the first time I’ve ever worn something so expensive. I didn’t want it to get ruined…”
Xiao Qiyu reassured her, “I understand how you feel. A-zhou and Li Su used to date, even got engaged. She’s beautiful, so it’s natural for you to feel pressured. But you and A-zhou are already married, and so is she. Even if A-zhou regains his memories someday, they can’t be together again.”
“Mm.”
“As the daughter-in-law of the Huo family, you must have vision. A dress is just a dress, a few hundred thousand is pocket change for the Huo family.” Xiao Qiyu took out a bank card from her purse and handed it to her. “There’s fifty million in this account. The password is A-zhou’s birthday. Keep it for your expenses. Every month, I’ll transfer three million into it.”
Zhou Motang obediently accepted the card. “Thank you, Mom.”
Xiao Qiyu continued, “Chi Qingche isn’t just Li Su’s best friend, she’s also the eldest daughter of the Chi family. We have business ties with them, so don’t let such trivial matters cause a rift. Now that I’ve introduced you to society, you no longer represent just yourself, but the Huo family. Every word and action of yours will be scrutinized and interpreted as the Huo family’s stance.”
“Mom, I understand. I was too impulsive earlier and didn’t think it through. I thought Chi Qingche was deliberately targeting me. She’s so close to Li Su, she must hate me…” Zhou Motang lowered her head, her fingers tracing the surface of the bank card in distress.
Xiao Qiyu disliked her submissive demeanor, but there was nothing she could do, her son had chosen her.
She said, “It’s understandable that you’d think that way, but you can’t appear so petty in public. Family matters shouldn’t be aired for everyone to see. After all, everyone knows A-zhou’s former fiancée was Li Su.”
“Mom, I understand.”
Xiao Qiyu stood up first. “Let’s go back out.”
Zhou Motang tucked the bank card into her purse. She hadn’t lost out.
The banquet continued, with Zhuo Yang standing behind Huo Zhenzhou, accompanying him as he mingled with guests.
As if they had just left without causing any ripple.
But Zhou Motang keenly noticed that Li Su was missing.
Huo Xuanye was also nowhere to be seen.
In the presidential suite on the top floor, Li Su lay sprawled on the sofa while Huo Xuanye placed the wine and glasses on the coffee table before sitting beside her.
“You tempted me, seduced me, said we’d come upstairs to drink alone, how come you collapsed the moment we got here?”
“Li Su, are you just messing with me~”
Li Su kicked off her high heels, her fair knee nudging Huo Xuanye’s lower back from behind. “You haven’t poured the wine either~”
Huo Xuanye chuckled softly. “Still provoking me?”
Li Su bumped him a few more times. “Pour it, pour it.”
Tsk.
Not even drunk yet, and already acting up.
Li Su, your drinking manners are terrible!
Huo Xuanye deliberately kept only the soft wall lights and the floor lamp beside the sofa on, casting the spacious room in a warm, dim glow, the atmosphere thick with ambiguity.
He poured the wine unhurriedly while Li Su, draped in a silver evening gown, lounged lazily behind him. Her raven-black hair spilled across the sofa, her delicate, fair cheeks tinged with a drunken flush, utterly relaxed and comfortable.
Huo Xuanye filled two glasses, swirling one gently as his left hand rested on her thigh. “Wife, the wine’s ready.”
Li Su opened her eyes, gazing quietly at Huo Xuanye’s face under the hazy light.
Back when she was dating Huo Zhenzhou, he had been 25 too.
A year of dating, a year of engagement.
Six years of knowing each other, two years together.
She was all too familiar with this face.
Slowly, she reached out, gently tracing Huo Xuanye’s cheek, her eyes brimming with nostalgia.
Her gaze didn’t seem fixed on him but rather as if she were seeing his older brother through him.
Huo Xuanye’s heart ached.
He nuzzled into her warm palm. “Wife, do you want me to feed you with my mouth?”
Li Su snapped back to reality, realizing the man before her was Huo Xuanye. Her caress turned into a pinch on his cheek. “What, are we in some idol drama? I don’t need you to feed me.”
She sat up, and Huo Xuanye’s left hand naturally slid away from her thigh.
Leaning against the sofa, Li Su held her glass, the spot where Huo Xuanye had touched her still faintly warm.
Huo Xuanye picked up the other glass and leaned closer. “How about a cross-arm toast? Consider it a rehearsal for the wedding.”
Li Su casually clinked her glass against his, the crystal-clear chime ringing out.
Then she took a slow sip.
No words, just action to show she wasn’t drinking a cross-arm toast.
“More!”
Huo Xuanye stared at her empty glass. He hadn’t poured much, afraid she’d overdo it.
But if his wife wanted more, what could he do?
Pour, of course!
Only when his wife was happy would he have a good life.
Huo Xuanye refilled her glass four times.
After the fourth, Li Su set her glass down on the table, draped her left arm over Huo Xuanye’s shoulder, and swung herself onto his lap.
Huo Xuanye reclined into the sofa like a willing captive, his right arm encircling her waist. “Wife~ Are you playing with me now that you’re drunk?”
“Go ahead, I’m all yours. Willingly. Even if you’re using me as his substitute, I won’t regret it…”
But he feared Li Su might.
Drunk and bleary-eyed, Li Su cupped Huo Xuanye’s face with both hands. “What do you think I’m going to do?”
“Anything you want.” Huo Xuanye’s gaze burned like fire, his emotions laid bare. “Li Su, I’m yours.”
Li Su leaned in and kissed him.
Huo Xuanye responded fervently, his excitement unrestrained.
“Susu~”
“Susu~”
Li Su’s hands worked at the buttons of his shirt, while Huo Xuanye flicked open the hidden clasp of his belt with one hand. The two tangled together in a passionate embrace, lips locked, as shirts, suit pants, and evening gowns lay scattered carelessly by the sofa, unnoticed and forgotten.
