- Chapter 16 - Kissing in the Room
“Wife, which hairstyle do you think suits me best?”
Li Su deliberately teased him: “Slicked-back.”
Huo Xuanye hadn’t lost his memory, he knew his brother’s hairstyle all too well.
If he loved being a substitute so much, he might as well go all the way!
Huo Xuanye gave Li Su an approving look. “I also think a slicked-back style would definitely look great on me. I used to avoid matching my brother’s hairstyle, but now that he’s changed his, I can go for it. Once my hair grows a bit longer, I’ll style it slicked-back just for you.”
“Aren’t you mad?”
“Of course I am!”
Huo Xuanye paused deliberately. “I’m mad that my hair isn’t long enough right now to pull off the slicked-back look my wife likes.”
She truly envied Huo Xuanye’s positive attitude.
When they arrived at the Li family home, all the elders were present, grandparents, parents, and her brother, whose expression remained cold as he glared at Huo Xuanye with obvious disdain.
Since Huo Zhenzhou and Lisu had been engaged and wedding preparations had been underway for some time, the Huo family didn’t come empty-handed. They brought gifts that had been carefully prepared for nearly a year.
Aside from both families, a renowned fortune-teller had also been invited to select an auspicious date.
The atmosphere was solemn and formal, so much so that Li Su didn’t dare speak up.
However, Li Chen, seated beside her, whispered quietly, “Is he treating you well?”
“Pretty well.”
Li Chen shot a cold glance at Huo Xuanye across the table.
Huo Xuanye met his gaze openly. “Brother, is there something you’d like to ask me?”
Li Chen replied icily, “Without even offering a ‘name-changing gift,’ is Second Young Master Huo in such a hurry to switch titles?”
“Between peers like us, there’s no need for such formalities, brother. Even without the gift, I’ll still call you that.” As if to further provoke Li Chen, Huo Xuanye added another “brother.”
Li Chen’s face darkened like coal.
He didn’t want to hear it.
No matter how eloquently Huo Xuanye spoke in front of them, it wouldn’t change the fact that Li Su had once been engaged to his brother.
Huo Zhenzhou had just returned, and this man had immediately dragged his sister into a whirlwind marriage!
Huo Xuanye’s intentions were far from pure.
Huo Tea-Tea instantly activated: “Wife, does your brother not like me very much?”
Asking the obvious!
Li Su didn’t want to offend either side. “I’m the family’s treasured pearl. Of course they’re not happy about you marrying me. It’s only natural.”
Huo Xuanye smiled. “Brother, don’t worry. From now on, our Susu will be in charge. I’ll listen to her in everything.”
Huo Xuanye had always been rebellious and difficult to tame, and with his irresistibly charming face, Li Chen was the last person to believe he’d actually obey Li Su.
In the end, the wedding plans were settled.
The 8th and 9th of next month were both auspicious dates for Li Su and Huo Xuanye’s marriage.
After lunch at the Li residence, Huo Xuanye’s parents left.
Li Su yawned and headed upstairs, planning to take a short nap at home.
When she turned around, Huo Xuanye was following her.
She had almost forgotten, her whirlwind husband hadn’t left with his parents.
“Are you trying to kick me out?” Huo Xuanye preempted.
The Li family elders were still downstairs. If she left Huo Xuanye alone outside, they’d surely worry that something was wrong between them.
“I didn’t say that.”
Which meant he could follow her to her room.
Hehe~
He hadn’t been in Susu’s room before.
Excitement.
Elation.
Heart racing.
He felt like singing.
Yet the moment Huo Xuanye stepped into Li Su’s room, all that enthusiasm was instantly doused.
Li Su’s room still displayed a photo of her and Huo Zhenzhou together.
They say he’s aloof, restrained, mature, and steady, so why are their couple photos everywhere?
Huo Xuanye walked over and flipped the photo frame face down.
Seeing his action, Li Su said coldly, “Throw it away.”
Huo Xuanye picked up the frame, about to toss it into the trash, but the photo showed Li Su smiling sweetly and happily.
The other half of the couple photo he had torn from his brother’s study that night, he still kept it.
“Why aren’t you throwing it away? You just told my brother in front of me that you’d listen to me from now on. If you can’t even handle such a small thing, how can I trust-”
Before she could finish the word “you,” Huo Xuanye threw the frame into the trash.
A loud thud.
Deafening.
Huo Xuanye tilted his head and grinned at Li Su. “Wife, it’s time for me to step up.”
“Step up how?”
“Of course, by doing everything my brother did with you all over again, overwriting the memories he left in your heart, turning all those beautiful moments… into ours.”
Huo Xuanye raised his hand to caress Li Su’s cheek, leaning in slowly. “Does that make sense to you?”
Because of her dance training, Li Su had always been strict with her diet since childhood.
She ate very little rice. Tonight, with the elders at home, she had to behave properly and managed to finish a small bowl.
But eating rice made her drowsy. She could barely keep her eyes open, just wanting to crawl into bed as soon as possible.
Now, with Huo Xuanye stroking her cheek and his presence closing in, her mind grew even hazier.
She murmured softly, “I guess so~”
A faint smile flickered in Huo Xuanye’s eyes. “Then let’s start now.”
“Now?”
“Yes, right now.”
His gaze settled on her glistening, flushed lips as he leaned in, tilting his head slightly before pressing his lips to hers.
Her heartbeat spiked wildly.
He had never kissed before, relying only on instinct to move gently against her lips, tentatively deepening the kiss.
“Wife~”
“Su Su~”
He murmured hoarsely, “Cooperate a little~”
Just as he sensed Li Su’s hands pushing against him, Huo Xuanye was faster, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her flush against him, his kiss growing fiercer and more demanding.
The quiet room filled with Li Su’s soft, fragmented whimpers.
The sound sent shivers through Huo Xuanye, driving him wild.
When they finally parted, Li Su’s eyes were glazed, her lips wet and red. Even her glare seemed delicate and pliant. “I thought you meant taking photos…”
“We’ll take couple photos, but we’ll also kiss.”
Huo Xuanye was far from satisfied. Breathing heavily, he rested his forehead against hers. “I know compared to my brother, my kissing skills are terrible. Teach me more, and I’ll improve quickly.”
Li Su suspected he brought up Huo Zhenzhou on purpose.
Was he making his brother part of their play?
She truly couldn’t understand Huo Xuanye’s kinks.
Under his scorching, mischievous gaze, trapped by his unyielding arms, she couldn’t escape or break free.
Li Su tapped his chest firmly, enunciating each word: “I. Won’t. Teach.”
Huo Xuanye smirked. “Really won’t? Then don’t cry next time I bite you.”
“No biting!”
He had already kissed her so fiercely, she felt like he’d sucked all the oxygen from her lungs.
Huo Xuanye truly didn’t know how to kiss.
Leaning close to her ear, he whispered, “Wife, you can bite me instead. Anywhere you want~”
“Pervert!”
Huo Xuanye inhaled her fragrance, his gaze growing hazy. “How am I being perverted? I never specified where~”
Li Su turned her head, trying to evade the scorching breath lingering by her ear. “You are perverted!”
“Right, right, I’m perverted. Otherwise, why would I marry my brother’s fiancée~” His slender fingers kneaded her delicate waist. “The more thrilling it is, the more it excites me~”
“Let me go.”
“One more kiss, and I will.”
