Am I Really Wanted by Anyone? - Chapter 25
From the next day, my usual routine began again—taking walks with Marilyn, training to prepare for monster attacks, and handling administrative duties as Father’s proxy.
Father and Mother were currently bustling about. They had gone to the royal capital under the pretext of protesting about Princess Celestina.
“Sister Ginette, when will Father and Mother return?”
My younger brother Fadi had unusually come to the office and asked with a worried expression.
“Well, I think it will be once Princess Celestina’s future is decided. Do you have some bad feeling about this?”
Since Fadi takes after Mother in having sharp intuition, I became slightly concerned.
“I’m worried. That someone might get hurt. It’s just a feeling though.”
“I see. Understood. I’ll let Father know from my side. It will be fine, I’m sure.”
When I said that, Fadi’s face immediately brightened with a smile.
“Alright then, I’m going back to study! Since I’ll be living in the royal capital starting next year, I need to study lots and train hard until then.”
“Don’t push yourself too hard.”
With those words, Fadi energetically left the office.
I’m not sure if he even heard me when I called out.
Fadi said someone might get hurt. Perhaps there might be an attack.
…It makes me anxious.
I might be overthinking it.
—Jingle jingle
Just then, the sound announcing a letter chimed, and a single letter floated gently to me.
It’s from him! How delightful.
Seeing the name written on the letter made my heart nearly leap with joy.
I think I must be in love.
I read the letter and squeezed it tightly in my hand.
“Young lady, will you be writing a reply?”
“Katie, Father’s stationery from the drawer will do. I also need to contact Father and the estate.”
I immediately wrote letters and sent one directly to Father and the others.
