All Beings Will Save Me [Mythology Crossover] - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Even Taiyi Zhenren had never imagined that Nezha could truly act with such decisive lethality.
He indeed had not stopped Nezha from seeking trouble with Li Jing, but it was only intended to blunt Nezha’s sharp edges. Taiyi Zhenren had long ago requested Wenshu Tianzun to intervene, so that Nezha might understand the concept of “there is always a heaven beyond the heavens,” and that his fiery temper truly needed to be reined in.
However, the current situation was something no one had predicted.
Taiyi Zhenren quietly shot a look of contempt toward Wenshu Tianzun, the mockery in his eyes clear without words.
How can you not even defeat my eight-year-old disciple? Can you be any more useless?
Wenshu Tianzun accurately received Taiyi Zhenren’s gaze and the disdain within it.
To be honest, if it weren’t for the fact that his disciples were present and he needed to maintain his dignity as a master, Wenshu Tianzun would have already wanted to roll up his sleeves and have a proper debate on the Dao with Taiyi Zhenren right then and there.
Do you not know how many treasures you gave your disciple? Do you truly, sincerely want me to help you discipline him?
Actually, the person you really want to educate is me, isn’t it?
The atmosphere turned tense for a moment. The sparks flying between the gazes of the two masters were actually more intense and volatile than the previous confrontation between Wenshu Tianzun and Nezha.
However, while Wenshu Tianzun could afford not to care deeply about this matter, Jinzha could not.
As Li Jing’s eldest son, Jinzha had received more care and favoritism from his father than his two younger brothers. For him, the word “Father” was associated with memories that could be considered warm and beautiful.
Because of this, when Jinzha finally realized that his father had actually been slain right before his eyes, the expression of this young man—who normally looked somewhat gentle—became distorted and hideous. The look he directed at Nezha was vicious, as if he wished he could eat his flesh and drink his blood.
He could no longer care that his master was right beside him. Though a disciple should not act on his own initiative when his master has not spoken, his eyes were blood-red as he charged toward Jiang Ganqing.
This time, Jiang Ganqing did not use the Wind Fire Wheels to fool him.
These two brothers shared the closest and most intimate bloodline in this world, yet they had never met before. Now, they fought bitterly. One side acted with the decisiveness of wanting to take a life, while the other moved with a posture that was far too casual and leisurely. At least from a glance, one could not guess what he was thinking or what he planned to do next.
Furthermore, anyone with eyes could see that in this struggle between brothers, Nezha held the absolute upper hand.
“Do you still want to fight me?”
At a certain moment, the two of them were very close. Jinzha barely managed to block the long spear with his steel whip, only to realize that when Jiang Ganqing spoke to him, his tone and expression were far too calm.
It was so calm that it seemed as though the act of personally killing his father had no impact on him; there wasn’t even a ripple in his state of mind.
No hatred, no excitement—it was as if the person he killed was a complete stranger, as easy as snapping a blade of grass by the roadside.
For some reason, though Jinzha’s blood had been boiling when he first charged forward, his movements faltered with hesitation the moment he saw Jiang Ganqing’s eyes.
“I have no—with you, or the Li family—unresolvable grudge. If Li Jing had not destroyed my temple and statue, the karma between him and me would have ended back at Chentang Pass.”
“I have no necessity to kill you,” Jiang Ganqing asked. “Even so, do you still intend to continue fighting me to the death?”
“You are not my match.”
“Are you joking…” Jinzha gritted his teeth. “The vengeance for a murdered father is not something that can be set aside so easily! Besides, there are no parents in this world who are wrong. As a son, how can you not even recognize this!”
“Is that so?” Jiang Ganqing seemed to have lost interest in continuing the conversation with Jinzha, intending instead to quickly crush him.
He no longer held back. The Fire-Tipped Spear danced with the force of wind and fire, leaving no openings and completely suppressing Jinzha. After a dozen or so exchanges, he used a clever bit of leverage to directly flip Jinzha’s steel whip away.
The Armillary Sash immediately coiled upward, wrapping Jinzha tightly. With a heavy thud, he was slammed into the ground. Jiang Ganqing descended from the sky like a falcon, the Fire-Tipped Spear stopping just short of Jinzha’s face, only a hair’s breadth away from piercing his eye.
“See,” Jiang Ganqing said slowly. “You are simply not my match.”
He lowered his arm, no longer pointing the spear at Jinzha. The Armillary Sash obediently loosened its grip on the young man and returned to Jiang Ganqing’s side, nuzzling him like a cat before wrapping itself around his arm.
Jinzha wanted to charge again, but was stopped by a sharp shout from Wenshu Tianzun: “Come back!”
Jinzha froze: “Master?!”
“Come back,” Wenshu Tianzun emphasized his tone. “Do not make me say it a third time.”
Jinzha retreated unwillingly, standing behind Wenshu Tianzun, though his gaze remained fierce as he glared at Jiang Ganqing.
This was now a family matter within Taiyi’s lineage; Wenshu Tianzun was not suited to intervene lightly. Jinzha’s actions represented not just himself, but the lineage of the Yunxiao Cave on Mount Wulong. Wenshu Tianzun would not allow him to act as he pleased.
In this regard, not every master and disciple relationship was like that of Taiyi Zhenren.
“I have let my senior brother see a joke today,” Taiyi Zhenren bowed toward Wenshu Tianzun. “On another day, I will surely visit your gate to apologize and make amends.”
Wenshu Tianzun declined with a few polite words.
“Nezha.” Taiyi Zhenren turned back to look at Jiang Ganqing. “Do you know your wrong?”
Jiang Ganqing, however, laughed.
“Then please, Master, tell me: what wrong has Nezha committed?”
“That was your father, after all…” Taiyi Zhenren clicked his tongue, not knowing how to explain this to Jiang Ganqing.
The scene was at a standstill for a moment.
Suddenly, a massive shadow flew in from the distant horizon, covering Nezha before anyone could react. Looking closely now, one could see it was a golden Exquisite Pagoda with seven layers. Standing there, it was towering and magnificent, radiating precious light.
“Taiyi. You are far too indulgent toward your disciple.”
A Taoist descending from the horizon upon auspicious clouds rebuked him neither heavily nor lightly: “Since that is the case, I shall discipline him on your behalf.”
Taiyi Zhenren’s expression twisted for a moment, but he still said respectfully: “I shall follow your lead, Senior Brother.”
The Taoist stepped forward and stood before the Exquisite Pagoda.
“Li Nezha!” he shouted. “I am Randeng Daoren of the Yuanjue Cave on Mount Lingjiu. Today, I calculated that your father, Li Jing, has not finished his cultivation and is destined to enjoy worldly wealth and honor, thus I have come.”
“I wish to take your father as my disciple and help him return to life, so that he may serve the new King of Zhou Wu in the future. Conflict between father and son is a great sacrilege. It is better that I preside over this today; let the two of you laugh away your grievances and resume your bond as father and son.”
“Li Jing destroyed your golden body, and you have personally killed him once; let that be the end of the grudge. From now on, let father and son be in harmony, serve the same lord, and achieve the Great Fruit. There is no need to mention the past again.”
“What say you?”
The youth within the Exquisite Pagoda was silent for a brief moment, and then he burst into hysterical laughter.
“Randeng, oh Randeng, you truly are indulging in wishful thinking and talking nonsense.”
He lifted his eyes, the bottom of his pupils shimmering with golden light like a burning flame.
“I say: not a chance. You want me to acknowledge him as my father? Is he even worthy?”
“Today, I simply refuse your mediation. I want to see just how you intend to force me to comply!”
