- Chapter 40 - Give Me a Permanent Mark
Perhaps because the weather was too cold, Chen Yanzhi’s illness dragged on for quite a while. He rested at home for nearly a week before recovering, having lost a significant amount of weight in the process.
Learning of his illness, Old Master Fu sent various supplements every day. Chen Yanzhi grew tired of eating them; as soon as Uncle Chen left, he would secretly make Fu Tingyue help him finish them.
Chen Yanzhi lay sprawled on the table, asking Fu Tingyue listlessly, “Can I go out to play? I don’t want to eat any more supplements.”
Fu Tingyue stroked his head. “You can. I’ll go with you.”
Chen Yanzhi instantly perked up, his eyes shining. “Do you have time?”
Fu Tingyue nodded with a smile. “I’m not busy for the next few days. I can take you out.”
Chen Yanzhi was thrilled. “That’s great! I finally don’t have to stay stuck at home.”
For someone as active as him, being confined to the house for a week straight was absolute torture. This was with Fu Tingyue staying home to keep him company; if Chen Yanzhi had been alone, he probably would have gone stir-crazy.
“I’ll take you out to clear your head,” Fu Tingyue said, pinching Chen Yanzhi’s cheek. He suddenly asked, “Should we bring Lin Xubai?”
Recalling what happened previously, Chen Yanzhi shook his head. “No, just the two of us.”
Although Lin Xubai had personally confessed and apologized over the phone—even asking him to tell Fu Tingyue that he truly didn’t mean it—Chen Yanzhi still felt a bit of lingering unease. Moreover, the fact that Fu Tingyue asked meant the man hadn’t fully moved past it himself; Chen Yanzhi didn’t want him to be unhappy.
Fu Tingyue indeed smiled. “Alright, I’ll have someone make the arrangements.”
The next day, Chen Yanzhi and Fu Tingyue set off on their journey via private jet. Fu Tingyue was worried that Chen Yanzhi hadn’t fully recovered, so he didn’t dare take him anywhere too cold. Instead, they headed straight for a southern resort island. The island was a Fu family investment, and Fu Tingyue happened to have a house there.
The island was well-equipped with entertainment facilities and various activities, enough for a four-to-five-day stay. The southern climate was warm, making it perfect for a vacation.
Gazing down from the high altitude, Chen Yanzhi asked in disbelief, “You said this island belongs to your family?”
“It’s mine,” Fu Tingyue said with a smile. “An eighteenth birthday gift.”
Chen Yanzhi gave a thumbs up. “Inhumanly wealthy.”
Actually, he owned a small island too, though he didn’t know if he would ever have the chance to go back and see it.
Fu Tingyue kissed Chen Yanzhi’s cheek and said softly, “If you like it, I can transfer it to your name later. Then you can come to play whenever you want.”
Chen Yanzhi decisively shook his head. “No. You have a much better head for business, so it should stay in your name. Use the money to make more money and become a tycoon.”
Fu Tingyue chuckled low. “Even if it is in your name, I can still manage it for you. I won’t let you get tired.”
Chen Yanzhi turned back to look at Fu Tingyue, his expression serious. “Wait until your own company grows big and strong first. These things belong to the Fu family; I don’t want them.”
Although Old Master Fu was very good to them, Chen Yanzhi knew clearly that if the Fu family ever discovered that Fu Tingyue wasn’t the “original” Fu Tingyue, they would likely kick him out without hesitation.
Initially, Chen Yanzhi thought the Old Master was a truly kind person, but after several interactions, he realized the Old Master simply wanted Fu Tingyue to manage the family business. There was love, but it was minimal and largely based on utility.
Chen Yanzhi realized that in this world, only he and Fu Tingyue would love each other unreservedly; everyone else had an agenda. They couldn’t rely on the Fu family forever; they needed their own way out.
Fu Tingyue gripped Chen Yanzhi’s hand, his voice firm. “Don’t worry. I will handle everything. Even if they find out I’m not the original Fu Tingyue, it won’t matter. I can protect you.”
“I can protect you too! I’m going to learn boxing and sanda when we get back…” Chen Yanzhi stopped halfway through his grand declaration, suddenly remembering to ask, “Can an Omega learn those things?”
As far as he knew, there were certain places Omegas couldn’t enter or exit freely.
Fu Tingyue shook his head regretfully. “No.”
“Then I’ll just practice swimming at home,” Chen Yanzhi sighed. “You can practice with me occasionally. That way, if anyone bullies you in the future, I can punch them back for you.”
Seeing Chen Yanzhi’s pouting face and hearing his quiet complaints, Fu Tingyue found him too cute. He couldn’t resist kissing his cheek. “No need to worry about that. I’m much better at fighting than you are.”
Chen Yanzhi had a delayed realization. “Oh right. You’re a top-tier Alpha. Who could possibly beat you?”
The private jet landed on the clearing behind the villa. Chen Yanzhi and Fu Tingyue stepped off the plane together. Servants who had been waiting early stepped forward to move the luggage, and the butler led the way.
The villa was built in the mountains, a short distance from the shore. However, standing at the entrance, one could see the boundless ocean. It was a beautiful location, nestled against the mountains and facing the sea.
The temperature was high; Chen Yanzhi felt hot even though he was only wearing a sweater.
The butler was a Beta in his forties. As they walked, he said to the two of them, “There are many vacationers on the island recently, but this area is private. Tourists cannot come here. Eldest Young Master and Mr. Chen can play without worry. If you need anything, just let me know, and I will arrange it.”
Fu Tingyue held Chen Yanzhi’s hand, his voice cool as he gave instructions. “Have the kitchen prepare some food. Secretary Jiang has already sent the list of dietary restrictions to you.”
“Yes, Eldest Young Master. I will arrange it immediately.” The butler turned and bowed out.
Chen Yanzhi watched the butler’s retreating back and whispered into Fu Tingyue’s ear, “Is he one of your people?”
Fu Tingyue shook his head. “Grandfather’s.”
Chen Yanzhi understood now. No wonder the butler had been staring at him earlier.
Fu Tingyue pinched his cheek. “Don’t mind him. Just have fun for the next few days and set other matters aside for now.”
Chen Yanzhi nodded. He went back to the room to shower and change into light, fresh clothes. Originally, he wanted to go straight to the hot spring, but Fu Tingyue was worried he would be hungry later. He coaxed the boy into eating something first before they headed to the private spring together.
Because of the recent cold weather and the sudden illness, Fu Tingyue had been desperate to wrap him up tightly to avoid any wind. Being able to finally dress lightly made Chen Yanzhi very happy.
The hot spring was located in the mountains behind the villa. The area was beautifully constructed, with corridors winding upward. The landscape was like a painting, instantly lifting one’s mood.
Chen Yanzhi marveled at the scenery all the way there. Upon arriving at the spring, he changed and got in first. It was an open-air spring, but it wasn’t cold at all; the air was warm and humid, feeling nothing like winter.
An Omega’s skin is pale and tender. After soaking for a while, a layer of light pink rose to the surface. His slight figure was partially obscured by the white mist, giving him an ethereal quality.
When Fu Tingyue arrived, Chen Yanzhi was playing with the water. His beautiful back was exposed without reservation. Fortunately, it was only the two of them there, otherwise Fu Tingyue would have been jealous to death.
Chen Yanzhi was his; only he was allowed to look.
The sound of moving water came from behind, followed by the approach of the Alpha’s broad chest. Chen Yanzhi leaned back relaxedly into Fu Tingyue’s embrace, looking up at him with a smile. “You were so slow.”
Fu Tingyue kissed Chen Yanzhi’s forehead and explained in a low voice, “I took a few calls. Were you bored by yourself?”
Chen Yanzhi shook his head. “It was okay.”
Fu Tingyue wrapped his arms around Chen Yanzhi’s waist, resting his head on the boy’s shoulder. “Zhizhi, say you were bored.”
Chen Yanzhi laughed. He turned around to hook his arms around Fu Tingyue’s neck, intimately nuzzling the man’s chin. “I was bored to death without my boyfriend. I missed you so much.”
Fu Tingyue usually appeared very mature, but he could be quite childish occasionally. Chen Yanzhi loved this contrast because he was the only one who got to see it.
Amused and happy, Fu Tingyue cupped Chen Yanzhi’s face and kissed him.
As things were on the verge of spiraling out of control, Chen Yanzhi quickly pushed Fu Tingyue away, panting. “No doing bad things. We’re outside.”
Fu Tingyue rested his forehead against the boy’s, his breathing equally unsteady. “Yes, I know.”
The two of them were in the honeymoon phase of their relationship; they couldn’t help but be drawn to each other whenever they were close. Furthermore, Fu Tingyue had finally achieved his long-held secret wish, making it even harder to control himself. However, he would never force Chen Yanzhi when the boy was unwilling; he simply couldn’t continue pressing close.
Thus, after the kiss, they each stayed on their respective sides to cool down. Through the thin mist, Chen Yanzhi couldn’t see Fu Tingyue’s face clearly, and he didn’t know if the man was unhappy. He felt a bit anxious and decided he would give Fu Tingyue some “compensation” when they returned home.
Before they finished soaking, Chen Yanzhi began to feel drowsy. He leaned against the edge of the spring to nap, not even noticing when Fu Tingyue moved over.
Fu Tingyue gently pulled him into his arms. “Zhizhi, don’t sleep here. It’s dangerous.”
Chen Yanzhi mumbled in a daze, “But I have you here.”
Fu Tingyue tenderly wiped the mist from Chen Yanzhi’s face and leaned down to kiss his lips. “Let’s go back. It’s just in time to watch the sunset by the sea.”
Chen Yanzhi gave a soft “mmm” and hung limply on Fu Tingyue like he had no bones. Fu Tingyue had no choice but to carry him out of the spring to change clothes.
Chen Yanzhi was far too sleepy, and since no one else was around, he simply let Fu Tingyue help him change as well.
After leaving the spring, Chen Yanzhi was still too tired to walk, so Fu Tingyue carried him on his back for a stroll along the beach to watch the sunset.
The sea breeze was a bit chilly, and Chen Yanzhi gradually woke up. The orange-red sunset spilled over his beautiful pink hair, coating it in a soft glow.
Chen Yanzhi closed his eyes and touched Fu Tingyue’s face, then squeezed his earlobe. His small, constant movements were full of intimacy.
Fu Tingyue stopped and turned his head to ask, “Can’t sleep anymore?”
Chen Yanzhi scrambled upward, hooking his arms around Fu Tingyue’s neck and kissing the back of his head. “The wind woke me up.”
Fu Tingyue asked immediately, “Are you cold?”
Chen Yanzhi brushed his hair against Fu Tingyue’s nape, pressing his cool face against the Alpha’s warm skin.
“I’m not cold.” Chen Yanzhi glanced at the horizon and said lazily, “What a beautiful sunset.”
Fu Tingyue replied, “Yes, it’s gorgeous.”
Chen Yanzhi leaned into Fu Tingyue’s ear and kissed it. “Let me down, I’ll walk on my own.”
Fu Tingyue leaned over to set him down, then thoughtfully knelt to roll up Chen Yanzhi’s pant legs so they wouldn’t get sandy.
They strolled along the beach with their fingers interlaced. The setting sun painted the sea in shimmering gold, a scene as beautiful as a painting. On a sudden impulse, Chen Yanzhi stopped and looked at Fu Tingyue. “Fu Tingyue, let’s be together for a lifetime.”
Fu Tingyue didn’t hesitate for a second. “Okay.”
Chen Yanzhi leaned in to kiss Fu Tingyue’s cheek and whispered, “I like you.”
Fu Tingyue naturally wrapped an arm around his waist, his eyes full of warmth. “I like you, too.”
Chen Yanzhi’s slender arms hung around Fu Tingyue’s neck, his bright eyes reflecting the afterglow of the sun. He said with a beaming smile, “This scene and this atmosphere are just too perfect for a kiss.”
Fu Tingyue asked with a smile, “Do you want to kiss?”
Chen Yanzhi played hard to get. “Better not. It would be bad if someone saw us.”
Fu Tingyue gently smoothed the hair that the sea breeze had tousled, resting his forehead against the boy’s. “No one can see us. It’s just the two of us here.”
“Really?” Chen Yanzhi leaned in closer, feeling Fu Tingyue’s cool breath. He puckered his lips to touch Fu Tingyue’s, intending to pull away quickly, but Fu Tingyue held his waist and the back of his head, thoroughly tasting his wind-chilled lips.
Chen Yanzhi instinctively arched backward, his Adam’s apple bobbing piteously. “Mmph…”
Fu Tingyue gently pried open his slightly parted teeth, his warm, wet tongue sliding into Chen Yanzhi’s mouth to chase after his own.
Chen Yanzhi played a little game, darting his tongue away to keep Fu Tingyue from catching it. Fu Tingyue wasn’t in a hurry. His textured tongue brushed against Chen Yanzhi’s sensitive palate, making the boy let out a muffled groan. Chen Yanzhi’s legs went soft; he felt as though he weren’t standing on sand but on cotton. His body felt light, as if he might be blown away by the sea breeze at any moment, so he clung tightly to Fu Tingyue.
His thoughts scattered, Chen Yanzhi forgot to hide. His tongue was suddenly captured, and Fu Tingyue sucked on it fiercely twice. The sensation made his waist go limp; he felt like a puddle of water sliding downward. Fortunately, Fu Tingyue’s powerful arms held him in a tight grip, otherwise he would have fallen in a very undignified manner.
Fu Tingyue didn’t stop until he had tasted every bit of moisture in Chen Yanzhi’s mouth. He gently pecked at the boy’s red, swollen lips, then kissed his eyes, the bridge of his nose, and his ears with extreme tenderness.
Chen Yanzhi’s eyes were watery as he panted out a complaint. “You’re so fierce every time we kiss.”
Fu Tingyue didn’t feel guilty at all. “It’s because you’re too easy to kiss. I can’t help myself.”
Chen Yanzhi licked his lips and said hoarsely, “They’re swollen. How can I see people like this?”
Fu Tingyue rubbed Chen Yanzhi’s lips and couldn’t help but lean down for another quick kiss. “Just pretend they don’t exist. Or hide in my arms; I don’t want them looking at you anyway.”
Chen Yanzhi didn’t take the suggestion but stood on his tiptoes to hug Fu Tingyue’s neck, tucking himself into the Alpha’s broad embrace. He rested his chin on Fu Tingyue’s shoulder and said, “Let’s stay here a little longer before going back.”
Fu Tingyue held his waist, their bodies pressed together without a single gap. Chen Yanzhi’s soft, thin frame was shielded perfectly from the wind.
His hair was a mess from the breeze. Tucked into Fu Tingyue’s arms, Chen Yanzhi listened to the Alpha’s steady, powerful heartbeat. “Fu Tingyue, your embrace is so warm.”
Fu Tingyue held him even tighter and kissed his cheek. “It’s getting a bit chilly. Let’s go back.”
Chen Yanzhi nodded. Just as he was about to pull away, Fu Tingyue lifted him up by the backside and carried him toward the villa. The Alpha’s deep, strong voice came from above. “Hide well. Don’t let them see your face.”
Chen Yanzhi realized Fu Tingyue’s possessiveness was acting up again, but he didn’t argue. He hid obediently in Fu Tingyue’s arms, truly not letting anyone see his face. By the time they reached the bedroom, his face was flushed from being tucked away for so long.
He looked up at Fu Tingyue with bright, happy eyes. “See? No one saw me.”
Fu Tingyue pressed him against the door. His gaze was aggressive, scanning Chen Yanzhi’s beautiful face before settling on his still-swollen lips. Chen Yanzhi understood the look and touched the man’s face soothingly. “No more kissing. I still want to go out and play later.”
Fu Tingyue exhaled heavily, a trace of dissatisfaction in his eyes. In the end, he only leaned his head on Chen Yanzhi’s shoulder and sucked a “strawberry” bruise onto his neck. Chen Yanzhi let him; it was no secret that they were dating, so a hickey on his neck wasn’t strange as long as it calmed Fu Tingyue down.
However, Chen Yanzhi underestimated Fu Tingyue’s possessiveness. Fu Tingyue had planted the hickey, but he wouldn’t let anyone see it. That night, he made Chen Yanzhi wear a turtleneck sweater before leading him out. Although they were in the south, the night air was a bit cool, so the turtleneck wasn’t too hot. Chen Yanzhi didn’t complain and let Fu Tingyue lead him downstairs.
While the private area was comfortable, it was a bit too quiet. Chen Yanzhi wanted to see the other side of the island. Since his heat had just passed, there were no immediate risks. Knowing Chen Yanzhi liked crowds, Fu Tingyue had someone make arrangements. They would stay at the hotel on that side for the night instead of traveling back and forth.
Chen Yanzhi hadn’t been out in a long time and went absolutely wild. Fu Tingyue let him play, following closely behind to protect him, with several bodyguards trailing them. Many people vacationing on the island were wealthy, so having bodyguards wasn’t unusual.
But Chen Yanzhi’s face was simply too striking. Even with Fu Tingyue following him, many Alphas still cast their gazes his way. Oblivious, Chen Yanzhi explored everything with curiosity. Whenever he saw something he liked, he bought it and shoved it at Fu Tingyue. By the end, Fu Tingyue was carrying a pile of various plush dolls.
Having just finished a cup of milk tea, Chen Yanzhi felt the urge to use the restroom. He pulled Fu Tingyue toward a public restroom and said, “I need to go. Wait for me at the door.”
Fu Tingyue nodded. “Okay, go ahead.”
When Chen Yanzhi came out, he was about to return to Fu Tingyue’s side when someone suddenly blocked his path. A tall Alpha stopped him with a polite smile. “Hello, could I get your contact information?”
Chen Yanzhi immediately took a step back. “I’m sorry, it’s not convenient.”
“My apologies, but I really like you. Let’s exchange contacts. I won’t bother you unnecessarily…”
As the Alpha spoke, he moved closer. The pungent scent of gardenia pheromones was strong enough to make Chen Yanzhi feel nauseous. He frowned deeply and cursed under his breath, ready to act. However, a much more intense wave of pheromones hit him head-on, making his legs go soft and his body lose all strength. Chen Yanzhi covered his nose and called out, “Fu Tingyue!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the Alpha blocking him was grabbed by the hair and kicked to the ground. The bodyguards quickly stepped in to drag the man away.
Chen Yanzhi covered his mouth and nose, looking pained and frowning heavily. Fu Tingyue rushed forward to pull him into his arms, constantly releasing soothing pheromones. “Zhizhi, keep breathing.”
Chen Yanzhi took a few deep breaths. Smelling the familiar scent of red wine, he slowly came back to himself. Shivering, he buried his face in Fu Tingyue’s chest. A belated fear enmeshed him like a net; his throat felt dry and sore. “Fu Tingyue, I’m so scared.”
Fu Tingyue gently patted his back and stood up while holding him. “Don’t be afraid. It’s over now. I’m taking you back to the hotel.”
This was the first time Chen Yanzhi had felt the direct terror of an Alpha. Even if the person was just an ordinary Alpha, their pheromones could still make him feel nauseous and dizzy. If the concentration had been any higher, he would have been forced into heat and lost consciousness, left at the other person’s mercy.
“It’s okay, Zhizhi. Don’t be afraid. I’m here, no one can hurt you. Calm down, okay?”
Under Fu Tingyue’s gentle coaxing, Chen Yanzhi gradually calmed down, but he was still frightened. Fu Tingyue carried him all the way back to the hotel. Chen Yanzhi clung to the man’s clothes and refused to let go or look up.
Fu Tingyue called his name softly. “Chen Yanzhi, look at me, okay?”
Chen Yanzhi shook his head. Tucked into Fu Tingyue’s arms, he shivered and said, “Fu Tingyue, I finally know why you were angry before. Alphas are so scary.”
Fu Tingyue’s tone became even more tender. “It’s okay. I’m here. It was my oversight just now; I let you get scared.”
Chen Yanzhi shook his head, his voice tinged with a heavy sob. “It wasn’t your fault. I was just too unguarded. I always thought that because I’m an S-class Omega, I could be reckless and didn’t need to worry about Alphas. But it isn’t like that at all. I hate his pheromones; they smelled disgusting.”
Fu Tingyue blamed himself. “It was my fault for not protecting you well and not teaching you enough. It isn’t your fault.”
Chen Yanzhi finally looked up at Fu Tingyue, his face covered in glistening tears, looking utterly piteous. “Don’t apologize. Just kiss me. I’m scared.”
Fu Tingyue gently kissed away his tears. He didn’t stop until Chen Yanzhi had completely calmed down, letting the boy lean against him. “It’s over now.”
Once calm, Chen Yanzhi looked up and asked, “How can I stop being affected by other Alphas’ pheromones?” He had vaguely seen something about a solution before, but he had forgotten the details.
Fu Tingyue held Chen Yanzhi’s face and said seriously, “A permanent mark. Once you are permanently marked, you are my Omega alone, and you will only be affected by my pheromones.”
“Then give me a permanent mark, okay?” Chen Yanzhi grabbed Fu Tingyue’s wrist excitedly, his eyes full of panic. “Mark me. Tell me what I need to do. I don’t want to smell other people’s pheromones; it’s disgusting. I only like you, Fu Tingyue. I only like you.”
Fu Tingyue kissed Chen Yanzhi’s face while saying, “Baby, a permanent mark can’t be given lightly. It causes pregnancy. I don’t want you to get pregnant. My Zhizhi is still a child himself; I don’t want you to have to give me children yet.”
Chen Yanzhi looked down at his stomach, his expression dazed. “I’ll get pregnant?”
Fu Tingyue kissed his lips and explained patiently, “Yes. A permanent mark requires entering your reproductive cavity. Our compatibility is so high that pregnancy is one hundred percent certain.”
Chen Yanzhi still looked stunned. “A child belonging to you and me inside my stomach?”
Before Fu Tingyue could speak, he heard Chen Yanzhi murmur to himself, “I don’t hate the idea of being pregnant. If the child is ours…”
Hearing those words, Fu Tingyue nearly lost control of his pheromones. He quickly dialed his wristband to the highest setting and pulled Chen Yanzhi into a trembling embrace. “Baby, don’t say things like that lightly. I’ll lose control. I don’t want you to get pregnant. My little treasure is still a baby himself; I can’t bear to see you suffer.”
Chen Yanzhi realized his words had been a bit too bold and leaned quietly against Fu Tingyue’s chest.
But he truly didn’t hate the idea of pregnancy, especially if the child was his and Fu Tingyue’s. A permanent mark would make them belong to each other completely. He really wanted to.
