After Transmigrating into an ABO World with My Rival - Chapter 29
Seeing Chen Yanzhi’s panicked expression, Fu Tingyue’s temper flared instantly. He wrapped his arms tightly around Chen Yanzhi’s waist and demanded, “What are you hiding for? Weren’t you having a great time just now? You’re happy playing with others, but you’re nothing but impatient when you’re with me, right?”
“I’m not,” Chen Yanzhi looked at him with an innocent face. “You’re hurting me.”
In the past, as long as he said those words, Fu Tingyue would definitely let go and show concern. But not today.
Instead of offering comfort, Fu Tingyue tightened his grip on his waist and looked at him coldly. “You’ll fight for the sake of other Omegas, but the moment I touch you gently, you act like you’re made of glass. Does it actually hurt, or do you simply hate me?”
Chen Yanzhi grabbed Fu Tingyue’s hand that was clamped around his waist and frowned. “Fu Tingyue, stop being crazy. I don’t hate you. Let go of me first.”
He felt like the skin on his waist was definitely bruised; it hurt like hell.
Fu Tingyue was so angry his breathing turned shallow. He lifted Chen Yanzhi with one arm and carried him out, hissing through gritted teeth, “Differentiated into an Omega and you still dare to come to a bar with a pack of Alphas. Are you just dying for something bad to happen to you?”
Terrified of falling, Chen Yanzhi didn’t dare struggle anymore. He proactively wrapped his arms around Fu Tingyue’s neck and explained, “I was only going to play for a bit and then go home. Besides, Secretary Jiang was there. What could possibly happen?”
Fu Tingyue stopped speaking. He carried Chen Yanzhi away with a frozen expression, followed by bodyguards who collectively ignored Chen Yanzhi’s pleading looks.
Chen Yanzhi muttered a curse under his breath. He hadn’t meant to say it out loud, but it slipped out.
Fu Tingyue asked coldly, “Say that again?”
Chen Yanzhi quickly said, “I wasn’t talking about you. Put me down quickly. This is so uncomfortable, I feel like throwing up.”
He was already a bit tipsy, and being carried like this made his head spin even more.
Fu Tingyue spat out a single word: “Vomit.”
Chen Yanzhi threatened, “If you don’t put me down right now, I’m going to throw up on you.”
Fu Tingyue ignored him and continued walking out.
Chen Yanzhi tried to adjust his posture, but Fu Tingyue suddenly stopped. “Move one more time and I’ll never look after you again.”
Chen Yanzhi froze, staying still and not daring to move an inch, but his mouth didn’t stay quiet. “What are you being so mean for? This is miserable.”
Fu Tingyue withdrew his cold gaze but stopped carrying him with one arm. He scooped up Chen Yanzhi’s hips to hold him properly and walked toward the car with steady steps.
The alcohol was hitting Chen Yanzhi hard now. Feeling dizzy, he stopped making a fuss and leaned obediently against Fu Tingyue’s shoulder.
He had just closed his eyes to sleep for a bit when Fu Tingyue suddenly threw him into the car and slammed the door shut with a loud bang.
Chen Yanzhi’s brow twitched violently. An ominous feeling spread through his heart. He stole a glance at Fu Tingyue and saw his face was terrifyingly cold. He quickly moved to the side, shrinking into the corner and closing his eyes to pretend to be asleep.
“Home,” Fu Tingyue instructed the driver. He pressed a button, and the partition lowered to block the view from the front seat. The back seat became a completely private space. Chen Yanzhi felt even more uneasy; his eyes darted around beneath his thin eyelids, but he didn’t dare open them.
Listening to Fu Tingyue’s heavy breathing, his confidence sank further.
Fu Tingyue was very angry. It was his own fault today; he shouldn’t have come out to drink with Alphas behind his back.
But Chen Yanzhi had been the one waited on since they were young. Asking him to proactively lower his head and admit a mistake was too difficult.
Besides, he felt he hadn’t done much wrong. Firstly, he wasn’t drunk. Secondly, he hadn’t let any Alpha take advantage of him, he’d only had his wrist grabbed. If Fu Tingyue had arrived one minute later, that Alpha would have been beaten up by him already. Furthermore, Fu Tingyue was being too mean; he didn’t want to coax him.
Actually, it was Fu Tingyue’s fault. If he hadn’t stayed away from home for so many days, Chen Yanzhi wouldn’t have run out to play because of boredom.
Without a shred of guilt, Chen Yanzhi heartlessly pushed all the blame onto Fu Tingyue. He couldn’t help it; he had been spoiled like this by Fu Tingyue since childhood. He was used to it.
In the past, whether it was his fault or Fu Tingyue’s, Fu Tingyue was almost always the one to lower his head first. He assumed this time would be no different.
Maybe Fu Tingyue would be angry for a bit and then speak to him first to apologize, admitting it was wrong not to come home and wrong to be so mean just now.
The apology didn’t come, but Chen Yanzhi heard the sound of a lighter.
At first, he thought he misheard, until the smell of tobacco filled the car. He opened his eyes in shock and looked at Fu Tingyue. “You know how to smoke?”
Fu Tingyue glanced at him, took a puff without expression, and exhaled. The white smoke blurred his superior facial features. A top-tier Alpha, even without releasing pheromones, carried immense pressure just by sitting there.
Chen Yanzhi wasn’t angry, but he frowned and asked, “When did you learn that?”
In his memory, Fu Tingyue never smoked. How did he suddenly pick up a bad habit?
Fu Tingyue remained silent, smoking quietly with skillful and elegant movements. He didn’t look like a first-timer at all.
Chen Yanzhi was getting angry and didn’t want to keep pretending. He turned his head to look at Fu Tingyue and said with dissatisfaction, “Why are you so angry? You’re the one who didn’t come home first, that’s why I went out to play. Of course I’d be bored if you leave me alone at home.”
He started out with plenty of confidence, but his voice grew smaller and smaller as he noticed Fu Tingyue’s expression becoming even grimmer.
Fu Tingyue suddenly let out a cold laugh, squinting his eyes as he continued to smoke.
With the alcohol in him, Chen Yanzhi’s temper was even shorter. He slapped Fu Tingyue once in frustration. “Say something! Why are you giving me the cold shoulder?”
Fu Tingyue stubbed out the cigarette. His cold gaze landed on Chen Yanzhi’s face, finally deigning to speak. “I’m giving you the cold shoulder?”
Chen Yanzhi didn’t dare look at him. Combined with his blurry, drunken vision, his eyes darted everywhere. “Yeah, you’re giving me the cold shoulder.”
Fu Tingyue sneered. “Check and see when was the last time you sent me a message. Chen Yanzhi, you were the one who said we’d talk after the New Year. Are you sure I’m the one hiding from you, and not that you simply don’t want to see me?”
Chen Yanzhi’s head was spinning. He shook his head and lost his temper with Fu Tingyue. “I said I didn’t want to talk, I didn’t say I didn’t want to see you. Stop pinning false accusations on me.”
Originally, he did need some time, but Fu Tingyue had been away for five days. He already couldn’t figure things out, and this situation made his brain even more of a mess.
Coupled with being exhausted from preparing for midterms, his mind and body had reached their limit. That’s why he wanted to go out and relax for a bit; he never intended to ignore Fu Tingyue.
As for the messages, Chen Yanzhi remembered clearly. He had sent messages and Fu Tingyue hadn’t replied, which is why he got angry and stopped sending them. Now the guy was actually blaming him.
Looking at Chen Yanzhi’s drunken state, Fu Tingyue felt even angrier. “Your tolerance is so poor, yet you love coming out to drink with Alphas. Are you trying to kill me with anger?”
Chen Yanzhi’s emotions had been bottled up for a long time. Being repeatedly blamed by Fu Tingyue, he finally exploded. “None of your business! Didn’t you decide you didn’t want to look after me anymore? Then don’t! Whether I drink with Alphas or go to bed with them is none of your business!”
Fu Tingyue’s eyes narrowed. Pheromones began to leak out uncontrollably. “You want to go to bed with other Alphas?”
“Not go to bed, have dinner!” Chen Yanzhi corrected him urgently. “Anyway, it’s none of your business. Didn’t you plan to just leave me be? Why come back and interfere now?”
Clearly he was the one who said the wrong thing, yet he was the one who felt aggrieved first.
Fu Tingyue knew he shouldn’t lose his temper with a drunk person or try to reason with him, but hearing Chen Yanzhi talk about going to bed with other Alphas made him unable to hold back his rage.
The Alpha’s chest heaved violently. The oppressive pheromones filled the narrow car. Fu Tingyue looked at Chen Yanzhi coldly, his voice carrying a hint of disappointment and loneliness. “Chen Yanzhi, I see you’ve adapted quite well to being an Omega, already thinking about going to bed with Alphas. It seems I’ve ruined your fun today. Do you need me to call those Alphas back and send you back to the bar?”
Chen Yanzhi stared blankly at Fu Tingyue. His eyes, watery and unable to focus due to the alcohol, looked as if he was either crying or simply too drunk.
“Are you crazy?” he asked quietly.
“If I’m crazy, it’s all thanks to you,” Fu Tingyue said coldly. He lowered the partition and told the driver to turn around and take Chen Yanzhi back to the bar.
Chen Yanzhi gave his own instruction: “Keep driving.”
The driver was caught in a dilemma, not knowing who to listen to.
Chen Yanzhi felt both aggrieved and angry. “We haven’t seen each other for so many days, and the moment we meet, you go crazy. Is there something wrong with you?”
Looking at Chen Yanzhi’s expression, the anger in Fu Tingyue’s heart dissipated by half, though his tongue remained sharp. “Haven’t seen each other for days, yet weren’t you having a great time? You’d rather go to bed with Alphas you don’t even know than have a proper talk with me. If you hate me, you can say it directly. We can still be friends. There’s no need to use those words to spite me. You know that as long as an Alpha wants to, they can easily get the Omega they want. You have no sense of self-preservation, letting that filthy Alpha touch you.”
Chen Yanzhi avoided the main point. “I’m not like other Omegas. I won’t let myself get into that kind of situation.”
“Is that so?” Fu Tingyue sneered, suddenly releasing a massive amount of pheromones.
Chen Yanzhi went limp instantly. His breathing grew rapid. The heavy scent of red wine soaked into him, constantly dismantling his sanity.
He slumped onto the soft carpet, looking at Fu Tingyue with a shiver. “Are you, are you crazy?”
“Do you understand now? An Alpha’s pheromones can suppress an Omega and entice them into heat.” Fu Tingyue held Chen Yanzhi’s chin, looking down at him from above. “You are the same.”
Chen Yanzhi’s face was full of defiance. “I’m S-class, I, I won’t be affected by other Alphas’ pheromones.”
“Does that mean only I can affect you?” Fu Tingyue’s lips curled slightly. His thumb gently rubbed Chen Yanzhi’s chin. “Chen Yanzhi, that’s not how you coax someone.”
Chen Yanzhi knit his brows in distress, his voice taking on a faint hint of a sob. “Withdraw the pheromones.”
Fu Tingyue continued to release pheromones, though his expression softened significantly. “Do you know what you did wrong?”
He couldn’t stand seeing Chen Yanzhi upset. His anger had actually faded just now, but if he didn’t give Chen Yanzhi a lesson to remember, the guy would continue to be reckless and go out drinking with Alphas. He needed him to know how dangerous it was to be out with Alphas alone.
Chen Yanzhi shook his head stubbornly. “I’m not wrong. You’re the one who made me angry first.”
Fu Tingyue bent down and pulled the man onto his lap. Chen Yanzhi buried his head in his chest, trembling, his breathing becoming increasingly rapid.
“It was my fault for not coming home for so many days. But it was also wrong of you to go out drinking with Alphas without permission. This is serious. If you don’t admit you were wrong, I’ll keep releasing pheromones until you do.”
Fu Tingyue spoke sharply, hardening his heart as he pushed Chen Yanzhi away and moved him to the adjacent seat, looking completely indifferent.
Driven by the pheromones, Chen Yanzhi’s mind was no longer clear. He crawled back and grabbed Fu Tingyue’s arm, trying to climb onto his lap, but Fu Tingyue stopped him. “Sit up properly. Aren’t you an S-class Omega? Don’t let my pheromones affect you.”
Chen Yanzhi trembled as he slumped against the seat, a sentence squeezed from his throat with suppressed emotion. “You bastard, Fu Tingyue, you bastard.”
Fu Tingyue watched him coldly. “Yes, I’m a bastard.”
“I never wanted to go to bed with other Alphas. I was so angry at you that I, I said the wrong thing.” Chen Yanzhi’s consciousness was a muddled mess, and physiological tears flowed uncontrollably. “Withdraw your pheromones.”
Fu Tingyue did not withdraw them. Instead, he asked in a low voice, “Why did you let him touch you? You clearly could have dodged it.”
Even though he had differentiated into an Omega, Chen Yanzhi had been sharp and quick since childhood. It was impossible for him to be unable to dodge. Yet, he had still let that Alpha grab his wrist.
Chen Yanzhi shivered as he gripped Fu Tingyue’s arm. “I wanted to shake him off, but, but you suddenly walked in, and I forgot.”
Fu Tingyue glanced down at that fair hand, his voice devoid of any emotion. “You are covered in the foul pheromones of other Alphas.”
He wanted to cover those scents, to make it so that Chen Yanzhi smelled only of his pheromones.
Chen Yanzhi lowered his head to sniff but could only smell the potent scent of red wine. He raised his tear-stained face, his gaze blurred. “They’re gone. Now it’s all yours.”
The air was filled only with the heavy scent of red wine. Fu Tingyue was finally satisfied and showed mercy by withdrawing the pheromones.
Chen Yanzhi gasped for air like a drowning man, his forehead and the back of his neck soaked with sweat, yet his hand did not let go of Fu Tingyue’s arm.
He said in distress, “Don’t take it all away so suddenly. Give me a little bit.”
Fu Tingyue said coldly, “No. I’m still angry.”
Chen Yanzhi crawled inch by inch toward Fu Tingyue, leaning against his shoulder and gasping with a thick, breathy voice. “Don’t, don’t be angry. I was wrong. I won’t go out drinking with Alphas without permission ever again. Fu Tingyue, don’t be angry. I don’t want to see you angry.”
Fu Tingyue did not push him away again, and his voice regained a hint of warmth. “You care about me?”
“Yes, I care about you.” As Chen Yanzhi spoke, he sniffed Fu Tingyue’s scent like a kitten, while his hands restlessly began to undo his own pants.
Fu Tingyue glanced down, a smile finally tugging at the corners of his mouth. “Chen Yanzhi, you’re being a hooligan.”
Chen Yanzhi ignored him, continuing what he was doing and even grabbing Fu Tingyue’s hand to help.
Fu Tingyue’s breathing instantly became ragged. “You really are…”
Chen Yanzhi said crossly, “Who told you to release so many pheromones suddenly? Hurry up and help me.”
“Chen Yanzhi, I don’t want to help you. I only want to do this kind of thing for my boyfriend.”
Fu Tingyue said the words, but his actions were honest.
Chen Yanzhi’s voice was strained. “Stop talking nonsense. Just hurry up.”
Between the alcohol and being suppressed by the massive amount of pheromones, his mind was completely gone. He only knew that the person beside him was Fu Tingyue.
Not only was he bossing someone around to help, he was even imperious about it. “Don’t be so stingy with the pheromones. Give me a little.”
Fu Tingyue shook his head helplessly but released his pheromones for him anyway. Before long, Chen Yanzhi turned and bit Fu Tingyue’s arm through his clothes, shivering violently.
Chen Yanzhi was a mess, his mind in a whirl. He couldn’t care about anything else. His body felt weak and limp, and he leaned obediently against Fu Tingyue, letting the man help him clean up.
Fu Tingyue moved his limp fingers, and Chen Yanzhi offered no resistance. Then, his wrist was caught by Fu Tingyue, whose calloused thumb kept stroking the skin there.
Chen Yanzhi regained some focus, his voice slightly raspy. “Why are you touching me?”
Fu Tingyue said with dissatisfaction, “Others can touch you, but I can’t?”
Knowing he was being inexplicably angry again, Chen Yanzhi gave up. “It’s just a wrist. Touch it if you want. You’ve touched everywhere else anyway.”
Fu Tingyue snorted coldly. “That’s not going to coax me.”
“Oh, then what do you want?” As Chen Yanzhi spoke, he leaned close to Fu Tingyue, blinking his large eyes as he stared at him.
Although his alcohol tolerance was poor, he usually cleared his head quickly after being drunk. Besides, he hadn’t drunk much today; his earlier loss of consciousness was entirely due to Fu Tingyue’s pheromones.
They were so close that Fu Tingyue could smell the mixture of lime and red wine on Chen Yanzhi.
Fu Tingyue’s gaze slowly swept over his moist lips. “What do you think?”
Chen Yanzhi couldn’t help but stare at Fu Tingyue’s thin lips as well. “If I kiss you, will you be better?”
He had never kissed anyone else, but when he kissed Fu Tingyue during the differentiation heat, it felt very comfortable. He didn’t know if it was an illusion because his mind had been hazy at the time.
But since Fu Tingyue liked him, he probably wanted to be kissed.
As Chen Yanzhi thought about it, he couldn’t help but lean in. Just as he was about to touch Fu Tingyue’s lips and taste the intense red wine pheromones, he was pushed away by a hand against his forehead.
Chen Yanzhi covered his forehead, looking displeased. “What are you doing?”
Fu Tingyue poked Chen Yanzhi’s forehead with his finger, his expression neutral. “I was about to ask what you are doing. Even when being a hooligan, you should have some boundaries.”
Chen Yanzhi retorted unhappily, “You kissed me last time. Why can’t I kiss you?”
Fu Tingyue looked into Chen Yanzhi’s eyes, which still held a trace of mist, and said word for word, “I kissed you because I like you. You have no standing to kiss me.”
Chen Yanzhi looked as if he had been startled, his eyes widening. “Why did you suddenly say it out loud?”
Fu Tingyue was exceptionally overbearing. “I said it because I wanted to.”
It was just like that day when Chen Yanzhi asked why he kissed him, and he replied that he just felt like it.
Chen Yanzhi retreated awkwardly, creating distance between them. He lowered his head and muttered softly, “No, you should at least give me some time to prepare. How can you just say it out loud like that?”
Fu Tingyue let out a self-deprecating laugh. “You don’t remember anything after you get drunk. Even if I say it, you won’t remember. This isn’t the first time I’ve said it.”
If Chen Yanzhi weren’t drunk, he would never have said something like wanting to kiss him. Even if he seemed lucid, Fu Tingyue felt he hadn’t truly sobered up.
Hearing this, Chen Yanzhi simply decided to pretend to be drunk. He leaned toward Fu Tingyue with a dazed look. “You’ve said it before?”
Fu Tingyue looked at him with deep affection. “I have, but you never remember.”
Since he was pretending to be drunk, there was no need to be polite. Chen Yanzhi scrambled onto Fu Tingyue’s lap and leaned naturally into his embrace, breathing in the red wine pheromones he loved.
Even though he wasn’t in heat, Chen Yanzhi really liked Fu Tingyue’s pheromones.
He purposefully put on a drunken act. “When did you say it?”
Fu Tingyue gently stroked Chen Yanzhi’s cheek, his voice soft and unhurried. “I said it twice in our old world. Once right after the college entrance exams, and once on the day of our bus accident.”
Hearing this, Chen Yanzhi’s pupils shrank violently. He remembered. When they were falling from the mountainside, Fu Tingyue had held him in his arms, and the first thing he said was: Chen Yanzhi, I like you.
He remembered it now. He hadn’t been able to recall it before, but Fu Tingyue’s reminder brought it all back.
Afraid that Fu Tingyue would see through his act, Chen Yanzhi quickly buried his face in Fu Tingyue’s chest. His heart was racing.
Fu Tingyue was like a different person now. He gently patted Chen Yanzhi’s back and coaxed him, “Sleep for a while. I’ll wake you when we get home.”
Chen Yanzhi closed his eyes, but he couldn’t fall asleep. Listening to Fu Tingyue’s strong heartbeat, his own heart raced in sync.
He stayed awake until they reached home. Unaware, Fu Tingyue carried him straight out of the car.
After placing him on the bed, Fu Tingyue went to the bathroom to shower. Chen Yanzhi opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling in a daze.
Fu Tingyue hadn’t started liking him after coming to this world. He had liked him long ago, yet how could he not have noticed at all?
When the bus fell, Fu Tingyue had shielded him with his own body. Chen Yanzhi had always thought it was Fu Tingyue’s instinctive reaction—after all, Fu Tingyue had always protected him like that since they were kids. But thinking back now, many things didn’t make sense.
If they were just ordinary best friends, he couldn’t have done that.
Between life and death, Fu Tingyue’s first choice was to protect him. He admitted to himself that he couldn’t have done the same.
Chen Yanzhi’s thoughts were a mess. He still hadn’t figured things out by the time Fu Tingyue finished his shower.
He had once thought that Fu Tingyue might have developed a misconception because they had to rely on each other in this world, but Fu Tingyue’s words today had completely shattered that theory.
Thinking Chen Yanzhi was still asleep, Fu Tingyue brought warm water to help him wipe his body.
After his upper body was wiped, Chen Yanzhi pretended to wake up in confusion. Looking at his stripped upper body, he grabbed Fu Tingyue’s hand and said in a muddled voice, “What are you doing?”
Fu Tingyue looked perfectly calm. “Helping you wipe down. You can shower tomorrow morning. Weren’t you tired?”
Chen Yanzhi originally wanted to resist a little, but on second thought, he really was tired. He let go of Fu Tingyue’s hand. “Alright then.”
Fu Tingyue briskly finished wiping Chen Yanzhi’s body and brought him a toothbrush to brush his teeth.
Content with being looked after, Chen Yanzhi began to drift off again.
Fu Tingyue helped him into his pajamas and turned to leave, but Chen Yanzhi suddenly grabbed him. “Aren’t you sleeping here?”
Fu Tingyue patted Chen Yanzhi’s hand soothingly. “I’ll sleep next door.”
Chen Yanzhi muttered with his eyes closed, “Sleep here.”
Fu Tingyue sighed and turned to lie down beside Chen Yanzhi. Chen Yanzhi naturally burrowed into his embrace, listening to his steady heartbeat until he finally fell asleep.
