- Chapter 27 - Doing Bad Things Behind His Back
Fu Tingyue had expected that Chen Yanzhi wouldn’t dare sleep alone, so he hadn’t locked his door. When Chen Yanzhi pushed the door open and walked in, he was clutching his pillow. His bathrobe was a mess; because it was a size meant for Fu Tingyue, it looked exceptionally large on him. The hem dragged on the floor, and the collar kept sliding down uncontrollably, exposing his beautiful collarbones and shoulders, which lent him an unexpectedly seductive air.
Chen Yanzhi didn’t feel that anything was amiss. He closed the door, hugged his pillow tight, and walked to the bedside, his eyes scanning the room warily. “Fu Tingyue, can I sleep with you? This house is so creepy.”
Fu Tingyue shifted over and patted the empty space beside him. “Get in.”
Chen Yanzhi tossed his pillow onto the bed, scrambled up using both hands and feet, and lay down right next to Fu Tingyue. His furrowed brows finally relaxed. “I finally feel safe now.”
Fu Tingyue forced himself not to look at Chen Yanzhi, his voice carrying a hint of barely noticeable raspiness. “Go to sleep. It’s late.”
Chen Yanzhi wriggled around under the covers for a bit, then asked through a mess of tangled hair, “The bathrobe is so uncomfortable. Can I take it off? It’s way too big.”
Fu Tingyue stared into his eyes for a moment before suddenly sitting up. “I’ll find you a shirt to wear so you don’t catch a cold.”
“Great, thanks!” Chen Yanzhi said. In a matter of seconds, he had stripped himself bare, tossing the bathrobe carelessly onto the floor. He sat cross-legged on the bed, completely naked, waiting for Fu Tingyue to find him something to wear.
The room was well-heated, so he wasn’t worried about the chill; the act of stripping had actually made him break into a slight sweat.
Due to the vast difference in their heights, Chen Yanzhi could only wear the tops; the pants were completely unwearable for him.
After debating between various sets of loungewear for a few minutes, Fu Tingyue decisively picked out a white dress shirt he had worn before.
Although it had been laundered, it still carried a very faint scent of rose wine. Furthermore, before handing the shirt to Chen Yanzhi, he intentionally released a bit of pheromones to ensure the fabric was saturated with his scent.
Chen Yanzhi was starting to feel a bit cold. He burrowed into the quilt, leaving only half his face visible as he watched the door like a child waiting for an adult to come home.
Fu Tingyue returned to see this exact scene. His heart quickened uncontrollably, and the hand holding the clothes trembled slightly.
He handed the shirt to Chen Yanzhi. Seeing that the other man had no qualms about putting it on right in front of him, Fu Tingyue felt both happy and helpless.
He was happy that Chen Yanzhi didn’t guard himself against him, but that was also the source of his helplessness.
If Chen Yanzhi had even a shred of romantic interest in him, he wouldn’t strip naked in front of him, nor would he change clothes so brazenly, exposing his still-healing gland.
Chen Yanzhi was constantly, albeit unintentionally, at full power in seducing Fu Tingyue.
As Chen Yanzhi fastened the last button, he turned to Fu Tingyue. “Your pheromones suddenly got really strong. Dial it back, it’s making me a bit uncomfortable.”
Fu Tingyue took a deep breath, quickly adjusting his emotions as the heavy pheromones gradually withdrew. “When you seduce me like this, of course I’ll have trouble holding back.”
“Don’t say such scary things out of nowhere. How did I seduce you? Isn’t it normal to change in front of your best bro?” Chen Yanzhi said with a roll of his eyes before lying down.
Then, he suddenly remembered the fact that Fu Tingyue liked him. Looking at it from another angle, to Fu Tingyue, his behavior probably did look like seduction.
It seemed he would have to be more careful in the future to avoid making things difficult for Fu Tingyue.
After Fu Tingyue lay down beside him, Chen Yanzhi tested the waters with a joking tone. “Fu Tingyue, do you think you’ve been influenced by the weird ideas in this world since we arrived?”
Fu Tingyue asked in confusion, “What do you mean?”
Chen Yanzhi rolled over to face Fu Tingyue, thinking back carefully before saying, “For example, just now. We used to change in front of each other all the time. You didn’t think I was seducing you back then, did you?”
Fu Tingyue smiled. “Do you remember how long ago ‘back then’ was?”
Chen Yanzhi naturally didn’t remember. He said vaguely, “Before we were fourteen or fifteen?”
Fu Tingyue provided the exact figure: “Not since we were ten.”
Chen Yanzhi was shocked. “Huh? That early? I thought it was at least until fourteen or fifteen.”
Fu Tingyue smiled gently. “You can never remember these things.”
Chen Yanzhi muttered softly, “It’s not that important, how could I remember everything?”
Fu Tingyue turned his gaze to the ceiling and said softly, “But I remember basically everything related to you.”
Chen Yanzhi waved it off. “Stop lying. There have been so many things since we were kids, it’s impossible to remember them all.”
Fu Tingyue said with a serious expression, “I really do. Ask me anything if you don’t believe me.”
Chen Yanzhi didn’t want to ask. He was afraid that if he did and Fu Tingyue actually remembered, he wouldn’t know what to do.
What normal person remembers every single thing that happened to their best friend? Fu Tingyue wasn’t normal. He probably hadn’t been normal in their old world either; it was just that Chen Yanzhi hadn’t noticed. Now that he was here, influenced by the people and events around him, he was losing control even more.
Chen Yanzhi sighed, keeping his eyes downcast. His voice carried a hint of both testing and pleading. “Fu Tingyue, can we be best friends for our whole lives?”
Fu Tingyue remained silent for a long time, so long that Chen Yanzhi grew uneasy and wanted to speak again. Finally, Fu Tingyue spoke. “If that’s what you want, we can be best friends for our whole lives.”
The choice always rested with Chen Yanzhi. No matter what he chose, Fu Tingyue would always stand by his side.
Hearing this, Chen Yanzhi didn’t feel relieved. Instead, he felt more conflicted.
What was he supposed to do? Fu Tingyue was so stubborn. If Chen Yanzhi kept pretending not to understand, Fu Tingyue would surely keep it bottled up forever.
But he hadn’t thought it through yet, so it was better not to say anything for now.
“Okay, let’s sleep. I’m so tired,” Chen Yanzhi said, closing his eyes and naturally leaning closer to Fu Tingyue, wanting to fall asleep to the scent of his pheromones.
But Fu Tingyue was feeling mischievous and withdrew his pheromones. When Chen Yanzhi frowned, he would release just a tiny bit. Chen Yanzhi would then wriggle forward like a thirsty kitten until he was tucked into Fu Tingyue’s embrace.
Chen Yanzhi muttered with his eyes closed, “You’re so mean. How can you use pheromones to seduce me? You clearly know I like them.”
Fu Tingyue gazed at Chen Yanzhi’s beautiful face in a daze, whispering to himself, “You’d rather like the pheromones than like me?”
He didn’t care if Chen Yanzhi was asleep. If he was, then so be it; if he wasn’t, even better. Ever since Chen Yanzhi differentiated into an Omega, Fu Tingyue had been extremely insecure. The man was too good-looking; even before differentiating, he could attract both Alphas and Omegas. Now that he was an S-class Omega, those Alphas would surely be unable to look away.
At the banquet today, many Alphas had been privately investigating Chen Yanzhi’s identity and their relationship. Fu Tingyue was worried someone would steal him away. If he weren’t afraid of scaring him, he would have told him everything regardless of the consequences.
In truth, Chen Yanzhi wasn’t asleep, but he felt it was better to pretend to be at a time like this. Who knew that while he was pretending, Fu Tingyue would actually kiss his forehead? That was one thing, but after the forehead, Fu Tingyue kissed his eyes and the bridge of his nose. Worried that his mouth would be next, Chen Yanzhi quickly buried his head in Fu Tingyue’s chest and whimpered twice, acting as if he were dead tired.
He just said we’d be best friends for life, and now he’s kissing my face? Is this right?
Right or wrong didn’t matter; Fu Tingyue’s pheromones smelled so good. He’d sleep first and worry about the rest tomorrow.
Chen Yanzhi hadn’t realized that when it came to Fu Tingyue, he was prone to extreme procrastination. If he truly didn’t like someone, he would have made it clear immediately, just as he had when Lin Xubai suddenly confessed.
But once the subject became Fu Tingyue, he became timid and even found a perfect excuse for himself, claiming he was worried about damaging their friendship.
Whether that was the actual reason was something only he knew, or perhaps even he didn’t know.
Fu Tingyue looked at the fuzzy head in his arms, reached out to pat Chen Yanzhi’s head, and carefully gathered him into his embrace, releasing his pheromones slowly and gently. Before long, Chen Yanzhi was fast asleep.
The two had grown up together, and Fu Tingyue knew him well. He knew that once Chen Yanzhi fell asleep, he slept deeply and wouldn’t wake easily.
So, he gently laid Chen Yanzhi flat on his back, using the dim light of the bedside lamp to gaze at his face.
But he wasn’t satisfied with just that. He pulled back the quilt to look at Chen Yanzhi’s beautiful, slender legs, the shirt bunched up at his chest, and his narrow waist.
Unable to control himself, Fu Tingyue lowered his head to bury his face in the crook of Chen Yanzhi’s neck, his breathing quickening as he inhaled the potent lime scent.
He unbuttoned the shirt, brazenly smelling the scent of Chen Yanzhi’s body.
Today, the two of them had used the same shower gel, and Chen Yanzhi carried a bit of his scent, which made it even harder for Fu Tingyue to stay calm.
In front of Chen Yanzhi, he could act perfectly decent and caring, but behind his back, Fu Tingyue felt he was quite a pervert.
Since Chen Yanzhi liked his pheromones, he released a bit more to make him sleep soundly, so that he could do what he wanted to do.
Initially, he just wanted to touch him, but looking at Chen Yanzhi’s moist lips, Fu Tingyue couldn’t and didn’t want to hold back. He leaned down and pressed his lips against Chen Yanzhi’s, gently licking his lips with the tip of his tongue.
When Chen Yanzhi’s teeth parted slightly, he carefully slid his tongue inside, sucking on Chen Yanzhi’s sweet, soft tongue to taste the intense lime flavor.
In his sleep, Chen Yanzhi had a very startling dream. In the dream, he and Fu Tingyue were passionately kissing. The scene was so intense it was frightening, yet he wasn’t afraid. Instead, it felt wonderful, so wonderful that tears flowed. He grabbed Fu Tingyue’s hair to pull him away, piteously begging for mercy, only to be bullied even harder.
Fu Tingyue had originally intended to just have a small taste, but for some reason, Chen Yanzhi responded in his sleep. The last of his crumbling rationality vanished completely.
Fu Tingyue pulled the quilt over Chen Yanzhi’s beautiful body, stroking him wantonly. His hot breath brushed against Chen Yanzhi’s neck. Though the sleeping man frowned slightly, he showed no sign of waking.
Fu Tingyue kissed Chen Yanzhi’s face. Seeing how he was shivering slightly, Fu Tingyue couldn’t help but suck on his soft lips and tongue for a while longer. It wasn’t until Chen Yanzhi let out a whimper that Fu Tingyue quickly stopped. Fortunately, Chen Yanzhi didn’t wake up. He pulled him back into his arms, patting his back until he fell back into a deep sleep.
