After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 21
Xia Qiqi reached out to wrap her arms around Xie Yinian’s waist, leaning close to plant soft kisses on her ear.
“Mmm.” Xie Yinian let out a light hum; her ears were sensitive, and her cheeks flushed slightly.
She turned her head, breathing lightly, “Don’t.”
But Xia Qiqi ignored her, continuing to nibble and trace circles with her tongue.
Xie Yinian’s body shivered lightly. Xia Qiqi seemed eager to keep teasing her, but Xie Yinian pressed her lips firmly against hers, stopping her.
Lowering her head, Xie Yinian gazed down at Xia Qiqi beneath her, caressing her lips.
Her lips were perfectly shaped, glossy and moist, impossible to resist.
Xia Qiqi licked Xie Yinian’s fingers, holding them gently in her mouth.
Xie Yinian’s fingertips trembled.
Finally unable to hold back, Xie Yinian withdrew her fingers and leaned down to kiss her.
Three days passed like this, and Xia Qiqi finally came through her heat period.
At the company, Xia Qiqi stared absentmindedly at her computer, recalling all the things she had done during her heat. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment—she couldn’t believe how reckless she had been.
Taking a deep breath, she composed herself and pulled out her phone to message Xie Yinian.
The message was simple: Thank you for all your help. Here’s a little reward.
She transferred some money via WeChat.
After sending it, Xia Qiqi finally felt a sense of relief. During her heat, Xie Yinian had stayed by her side, feeding her, keeping her company, even sleeping with her. She couldn’t just enjoy all that without giving anything in return, after all.
She waited, but there was no reply for a long time.
Finally, Xie Yinian responded with a single word: Okay.
Xia Qiqi put her phone away and focused on her work.
Meanwhile, at Nanan Company under the Lu Corporation.
Lu Anran sat at her desk, her expression dark as she handled her tasks.
“Miss Lu, here are the files for you to review,” her assistant said with a smile.
Lu Anran took the documents, her eyes scanning the contents. “Xia Company?”
“That’s our rival. Their product sales have been dropping sharply, and many of their clients have been taken by us. Their manager is desperate.”
Lu Anran’s eyes paused on the name of the company head at the bottom: Xia Qiqi?
“Miss Lu, do you know her?” the assistant asked curiously, noticing her reaction.
Raising an eyebrow, Lu Anran said, “Of course I do. She’s my rival in love.” She didn’t mind sharing her personal affairs with her assistant.
The assistant’s mouth fell open. “Rival in love?”
Not only were they love rivals, but they were also sworn enemies.
Lu Anran nodded and flipped through the files. Though competitors, they still had professional interactions. This afternoon, they had a business meeting scheduled.
A faint, unreadable smile curved Lu Anran’s lips. “Perhaps I should go meet her?”
The assistant was puzzled. Was it just her imagination, or did Miss Lu seem almost happy about this?
At Xia’s Company.
“Miss Xia, later you’ll also meet the Nanan Company representative for the collaboration. The location is set at XX Café.” the assistant continued.
Xia Qiqi simply responded with a soft Mm.
After the assistant finished reporting, she turned and left, closing the door behind her.
Xia Qiqi focused on her work until the agreed time. Then she stopped, tidied her appearance, picked up her briefcase, and stepped out to get into a car.
Half an hour later, she arrived at the café. Looking around, she found the reserved table.
The brown-haired woman sitting there seemed to recognize her. She smiled and stood, extending her hand. “Hello, Miss Xia.”
Xia Qiqi froze for a moment. This wasn’t the manager she had met before for a collaboration. It was Xie Yunian’s close friend she had seen last time she went home—Lu Anran.
Xia Qiqi extended her hand and shook hers lightly, replying calmly, “Hello, Miss Lu.”
After they were seated, Lu Anran smiled warmly at Xia Qiqi across the table and asked, “How has she been lately?”
Ever since the last time she got drunk and Xie Yinian sent her home, she had been caught the next morning by her father and dragged back to manage that failing company. She’d been busy ever since and hadn’t contacted Xie Yinian in quite a while.
“Please don’t bring up anything unrelated to work,” Xia Qiqi said lightly, taking a small sip of her coffee.
Lu Anran propped her chin on her hand, gazing at Xia Qiqi, thinking how fortunate Xie Yinian was to have met someone like this—such an icy, stunning beauty.
Ever since learning that Xie Yinian was married, Lu Anran had let go of her unrequited crush and started treating Xie Yinian as just an ordinary close friend, no longer harboring any improper feelings.
Today, she had just whimsically decided to meet Xie Yinian’s partner. Yet the other person didn’t seem too welcoming—had she somehow guessed that Lu Anran had once liked Xie Yinian?
Amused by the thought, Lu Anran smiled and said, “Miss Xia, you’re quite cold, aren’t you?”
Xia Qiqi pressed her lips together and remained silent.
“I’m sorry for the last time at your place—I was rude. I hope I didn’t offend you,” Lu Anran said, recalling her drunken episode and feeling she should apologize first.
“It’s fine,” Xia Qiqi replied.
“How about we talk about personal matters first, and leave work aside for now?”
Xia Qiqi frowned slightly. She didn’t know what Lu Anran wanted to discuss—what was there to talk about between them?
“Suit yourself,” Xia Qiqi said calmly.
“Who’s the top and who’s the bottom between you and Xie Yinian?” Lu Anran asked, curiosity glinting in her eyes. While Alphas were generally more dominant, there were also Omegas who could be surprisingly assertive in that regard.
Xia Qiqi frowned, clearly puzzled by what Lu Anran meant by “top and bottom.”
“Miss Lu, what do you mean?” Xia Qiqi asked, confused.
Lu Anran spoke plainly: “I mean, who takes the dominant role and who takes the submissive one.”
Hearing such a blunt question, Xia Qiqi blushed. She quickly tried to deflect, saying, “Miss Lu, perhaps we should talk about work instead.”
Lu Anran felt a pang of disappointment at missing out on gossip, but she wasn’t one to pry relentlessly, so she nodded. “Alright, fair enough.”
“These past years, competition has been fierce. There are countless competitors, and we’ve lost a significant number of clients. I imagine it’s the same on your side?”
Lu Anran nodded. Indeed, although some people in her company had been poached from Xia Qiqi’s side, it was just a small portion. Most clients had already dispersed, buying products from other companies.
“If neither side is really profiting, why fight over scraps? I think if our companies collaborate, pool our resources, and create better, more innovative products, we can definitely win back those lost clients. Why don’t we try working together?” Xia Qiqi suggested evenly, without rushing.
Lu Anran found the idea feasible and smiled. “Then here’s to a pleasant collaboration.”
“To a successful partnership,” Xia Qiqi echoed.
In the villa, Xie Yinian stared at the figures on her phone, deep in thought.
Even though she had earned so much money, why didn’t she feel happy?
She had agreed to a fake marriage with Xia Qiqi for money from the very beginning.
Before the transmigration, she was an orphan, raised in an orphanage. Thankfully, her childhood had been relatively normal—no bullying or misfortune—and she had grown up under the careful care of the head of the orphanage.
Due to limited funding, the orphanage was poor; some days, they had enough to eat, and other days, they didn’t. This made Xie Yunan highly conscious of money from an early age.
Later, when her manga was published and became a hit, she earned some money. But before she could even enjoy it, she unexpectedly transmigrated into the book world.
Unable to pinpoint why she was unhappy, Xie Yinian gave up trying to figure it out and simply opened her computer to post the comic.
Not long after, fans began leaving comments under the post.
【So good! Keep it up, author!】
【So sweet!】
【The little fox is adorable, and the puppy is super cute too!】
【Have you considered publishing this comic on a comic app?】
Xie Yinian had been thinking about that, though she hadn’t yet decided which platform to submit to.
So, she asked her fans for recommendations.
They eagerly replied, suggesting she post on XX Comics App, saying her art style would fit perfectly there.
After getting a clear answer, Xie Yinian immediately submitted her comic to that platform.
When she was done, she shut her laptop and went upstairs to work out in the gym.
Meanwhile, after wrapping up a business meeting, Xia Qiqi was just about to leave the café with Lu Anran when her phone chimed.
A new notification popped up.
“Comic update?” she murmured, confused.
Then she remembered—a blogger she had followed before sometimes posted comics. So it must be a new release.
Curious, Xia Qiqi sat back down and tapped open the update.
The moment she started scrolling through the panels, a faint sense of familiarity crept over her. The characters looked oddly recognizable, though she couldn’t quite place why. She brushed off the thought and focused on reading.
In the story, a little fox brings a girl back home and pours her a glass of water.
As she fills the cup, she glances at the clock—it’s already past work hours. The miner-fox frowns in dismay, thinking, I’m really getting my pay docked this time. Hope the boss goes easy on me.
The girl looks around the house and says, “Your place is huge.”
The little fox brings her the water.
“Thank you,” the girl murmurs softly, taking the glass in both hands.
The fox sits beside her and asks, “What’s your name?”
“Chai Qiu.”
“Chai Qiu? That’s a pretty name. I’m Hu Yue.”
“Hello, Sister Hu Yue,” Chai Qiu replies sweetly, clutching her cup.
“Mhm.” Hu Yue nods, eyeing the pair of furry ears on Chai Qiu’s head. “You really can’t make those disappear?”
Chai Qiu tries, but no matter how hard she focuses, the ears remain. She shakes her head helplessly.
Hu Yue frowns slightly. “Hmm, I think I have a book somewhere that mentioned something about this sort of thing.”
She gets up, walks to the bookshelf, and pulls out an old tome—its cover etched with strange runes. It was her grandmother’s, who once said it would be useful someday.
Hu Yue brushes off the dust, settles back down, and opens the book across her lap.
Chai Qiu leans in close to read along.
After searching for a long while, they finally find an answer.
The book says: Only by forming a bonded partnership can the spell be broken.
The two exchange glances.
“Should we try it?” Chai Qiu suggests hesitantly.
“Will it cause any trouble?” Hu Yue asks, uncertain.
But when she sees the hopeful look in Chai Qiu’s eyes, she eventually nods.
They clasp hands, foreheads touching, and chant the incantation softly.
Suddenly, a divine light envelops them.
A celestial messenger descends and speaks:
“You have now formed a bond. Do you vow never to abandon one another, to stay together until the end of your days?”
Hu Yue and Chai Qiu look into each other’s eyes—each seeing trust and expectation mirrored back. Living together forever might not be such a bad thing, Hu Yue thinks.
They both nod.
“I do.”
“I do too.”
The messenger smiles and fades into thin air.
From then on, the fox and the dog live under one roof—though their days are anything but quiet.
For instance, Chai Qiu once sneaks off to steal a slice of cake from Sister Hen next door—a cake she had spent hours making as a gift. Chai Qiu eats it all and ends up being chased through several streets.
Another time, while Hu Yue’s away, Chai Qiu completely trashes the house—tearing up Hu Yue’s favorite dress in the process. Furious, Hu Yue refuses to speak to her for three days.
And so, their little story comes to an end.
a fox and a dog, sharing one chaotic, laughter-filled home.
