After Transmigrating into a Scum Gong, the Rich Young Master Got Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Entering the City Amusement Park, Li Xiao pulled a guidebook from a rack. Lu Zhaoyi watched his action and smiled silently.
This person clearly remembered everything, yet he still insisted on having a map in his hand, which was perhaps a little too cautious. But it was fine; if he wanted to hold it, he could.
At this time, the park wasn’t too crowded. Li Xiao walked all the way in, and Lu Zhaoyi followed him until Li Xiao stopped, which made Lu Zhaoyi pause.
“Roller coaster.” Lu Zhaoyi asked, “Aren’t you scared?”
Li Xiao shook his head, then nodded: “I want to ride this.”
“Can you ride this with severe anemia?”
Seeing Li Xiao nod, Lu Zhaoyi was still uneasy, so he silently typed “Can you ride a roller coaster with anemia?” into the search bar. When he saw the advice that it’s best not to, Lu Zhaoyi didn’t want Li Xiao to go anymore. But he had promised him, and backing out now wasn’t appropriate.
As he scrolled down, he didn’t see many people saying it was okay. Lu Zhaoyi was still worried; the last time Li Xiao fainted in front of him was still vivid in his memory.
“Let’s ride something else,” Lu Zhaoyi gently asked him, “Okay?”
Li Xiao nodded silently, seeming to have prepared for the rejection. Lu Zhaoyi looked at him, feeling a pang of heartache.
“Come here,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Let me give you a hug.”
Li Xiao excitedly turned around and hugged him. Lu Zhaoyi even patted his back twice soothingly.
Although they had left the roller coaster, and Li Xiao hadn’t brought it up again, Lu Zhaoyi still felt uncomfortable. Lu Zhaoyi had originally thought all of Li Xiao’s misfortune in this life was caused by the scum gong, but in reality, he hadn’t let Li Xiao have everything his way either.
“Sit here for a bit and wait for me,” Lu Zhaoyi said, and Li Xiao nodded.
Lu Zhaoyi went to buy two hot milk teas, and then he bought a cotton candy.
He didn’t waste a moment after buying these things and immediately returned to his original spot to find Li Xiao.
Li Xiao’s eyes had been empty, but the moment he saw Lu Zhaoyi, they suddenly lit up. He immediately stood up to greet him.
Lu Zhaoyi smiled and held up the items: “I’m back.”
Li Xiao took the two cups of milk tea, then looked at the cotton candy and asked, “For me?”
Lu Zhaoyi nodded: “I don’t know if you like it.”
“Of course I like it.” Li Xiao’s foxy eyes curved, and his two small dimples faintly appeared. “Thank you, President Lu.”
Li Xiao first opened a milk tea and handed it to Lu Zhaoyi, then opened the other cup and placed it on the table before taking the cotton candy from Lu Zhaoyi’s hand.
Lu Zhaoyi watched all this, thinking Li Xiao was truly adorable. How could someone be so cute just opening a milk tea!
Li Xiao put on a disposable glove before touching the cotton candy. He pulled off a small piece and fed it to Lu Zhaoyi. Lu Zhaoyi could only take tiny sips, afraid of touching Li Xiao. Seeing this, Li Xiao smiled.
Seeing Li Xiao so happy, Lu Zhaoyi also couldn’t help but curve his lips slightly. He said, “It’s so sweet.”
Lu Zhaoyi was talking about the cotton candy, but his eyes were fixed on Li Xiao. Li Xiao felt a little embarrassed by the attention, and he quietly lowered his gaze to hide his blush.
Lu Zhaoyi couldn’t help but reach out and rub Li Xiao’s head: “Why are you still so easily embarrassed?”
“I’m not…” Li Xiao’s words weren’t very convincing. After saying two words, his voice trailed off.
Seeing this, Lu Zhaoyi just smiled and didn’t tease him further. Pushing him too hard wasn’t good; keeping it light was more fun: “Eat your candy. I bought it for you; it can’t all end up in my mouth.”
“Okay.” Despite what he said, Li Xiao still pulled off a piece and fed it to Lu Zhaoyi.
“Li Xiao, what do you want to ride?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “The carousel?”
“Okay.”
Whether it was childish or not didn’t matter. What mattered was that Li Xiao could ride it. For things like roller coasters, drop towers, and U-shaped slides, Lu Zhaoyi pointed to the map and told Li Xiao not to even think about them. Li Xiao smiled and agreed.
Li Xiao was indeed a little unhappy about the initial rejection, but now that he knew Lu Zhaoyi was purely concerned about him, he wasn’t upset anymore.
Lu Zhaoyi felt that love truly made people blind, but he didn’t say anything. The most important thing about going out was to be happy. As long as Li Xiao was happy, he didn’t care.
The carousel during the day wasn’t as magical as at night, but Li Xiao didn’t mind. Lu Zhaoyi went up to the top level with him.
Rides like the carousel usually only start when there are enough people. The two chose seats next to each other and waited for it to begin. Li Xiao always wore a faint smile.
Lu Zhaoyi thought he was still so beautiful. He wished nothing but happiness and contentment for Li Xiao’s entire life.
Once the carousel started, the two were looking at each other. Lu Zhaoyi actually didn’t know why he always wanted to look at Li Xiao; he just assumed it was because worrying about him had become a habit.
A few minutes later, the carousel ride ended. Lu Zhaoyi got off his horse and waited for Li Xiao nearby.
When Li Xiao got off, he very proactively took Lu Zhaoyi’s hand, and the two walked down together.
“What are we riding next?”
Li Xiao said, “Can we ride the log flume?”
“The drop here doesn’t seem to be too big,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Let’s grab a bite to eat, and then we’ll go on it.”
Li Xiao nodded obediently: “Okay.”
Raincoats were sold everywhere in the park. Li Xiao occasionally glanced at them, and Lu Zhaoyi naturally knew he wanted to buy one.
“You eat first,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I’ll go buy them.”
Li Xiao wasn’t concentrating on his food, but upon hearing this, he immediately smiled and said: “Okay.”
“Li Xiao,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Are you lying to me?”
Li Xiao put down his chopsticks, still a little confused.
He only heard Lu Zhaoyi ask him: “Are you really a college graduate?”
Li Xiao realized Lu Zhaoyi was joking with him, and his face instantly flushed crimson.
“I’m off,” Lu Zhaoyi joked. “Don’t miss me too much.”
Li Xiao nodded: “Got it.”
Lu Zhaoyi went to buy raincoats and happened to see a balloon vendor, so he bought a balloon to take back.
Although it wasn’t dark yet, Lu Zhaoyi had already turned on the balloon’s lights. Seeing Li Xiao still eating, Lu Zhaoyi fastened the balloon to Li Xiao’s wrist. Li Xiao looked up at the balloon, then lowered his head and continued eating.
Lu Zhaoyi watched, finding it amusing: “If you don’t want to eat, why force yourself?”
Li Xiao pouted slightly: “It was because President Lu told me to eat something.”
“So it was my fault,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I’m sorry, my bad. I was only thinking about making you eat, but I forgot to ask if you even wanted to.”
“President Lu cares about me; I’m happy about it, so how could it be your fault?” After Li Xiao said this, Lu Zhaoyi helped him stand up.
“Let’s go, we’ll check our bags,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Wrap your raincoat tightly later so your clothes don’t get wet.”
Li Xiao nodded: “I know.”
“Never mind,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Just have fun playing wildly. If your clothes get wet, we’ll just go back and change.”
“Okay.”
Lu Zhaoyi added, “Fortunately, it’s summer. If it were winter, I definitely wouldn’t let you come.”
Li Xiao smiled softly.
Lu Zhaoyi saw Li Xiao putting on the raincoat and helped him adjust it. They were very close; Li Xiao could even feel his breath.
Realizing Li Xiao was a bit shy, Lu Zhaoyi quietly stepped back a little.
But his stepping back didn’t matter, as Li Xiao helped him when Lu Zhaoyi put on his own raincoat. This closeness was a bit intimate. Not just Li Xiao, but even Lu Zhaoyi, who considered himself to feel nothing for Li Xiao, felt a little awkward now.
Lu Zhaoyi changed the subject: “Let’s go line up.”
Li Xiao nodded and followed him toward the log flume ride. Since it was a popular attraction, there were still some people ahead of them.
Waiting in line was not a common occurrence for either of them. People like them usually had others waiting for them; it was rare for them to have to wait.
Since waiting was boring anyway, Li Xiao simply took out his phone and asked Lu Zhaoyi if they could take a picture together. Lu Zhaoyi nodded.
Lu Zhaoyi had always known both of them were good-looking, but seeing his own face on camera, he still felt a subtle sensation.
He had been living amongst people for five years, and it seemed he hadn’t taken a picture with anyone else? Li Xiao was the first.
Since it was a photo, Lu Zhaoyi didn’t keep a straight face. He glanced at Li Xiao and curved his lips slightly.
Li Xiao used burst mode, but he didn’t check the photos immediately. He put his phone away and then chatted casually with Lu Zhaoyi. The atmosphere between them was not awkward.
Lu Zhaoyi found this state of interaction very comfortable. They were peers, after all, and had plenty to talk about. Lu Zhaoyi had excellent grades when he was in school, so he could answer anything Li Xiao asked.
Soon it was their turn to enter. The boats seated seven people, so they inevitably had to share with strangers. However, everyone who was out having fun was only concerned with the people next to them, and no one paid any attention to the two of them.
Lu Zhaoyi never worried about being pointed at by others, but he didn’t know if Li Xiao would mind.
Lu Zhaoyi felt relieved when he saw no one bothered them.
Lu Zhaoyi was holding Li Xiao’s hand, and he could clearly feel Li Xiao’s heart flutter the moment the boat started moving. The physical manifestation was Li Xiao’s grip tightening.
Lu Zhaoyi smiled softly, thinking that Li Xiao was like an overgrown child—scared but still wanting to ride. But as he had thought before, as long as Li Xiao was happy, that was all that mattered.
The light suddenly dimmed, and a few timid people screamed. Lu Zhaoyi turned his head to look at Li Xiao, who seemed prepared and wasn’t scared at all.
“It’s about to splash,” Lu Zhaoyi helped adjust his raincoat, then reminded him, “Be careful.”
“Okay.”
Li Xiao closed his eyes tightly and indeed felt the water splash over him.
After the boat stopped, Lu Zhaoyi and Li Xiao were the last to disembark. Lu Zhaoyi just didn’t want Li Xiao to be squeezed by others; there was no difference in leaving early or late anyway.
After getting out, the two threw their disposable raincoats into the trash can.
“Are you dry?”
“You already asked that,” Li Xiao said. “I’m really dry. Check for yourself if you don’t believe me.”
After he said that, Lu Zhaoyi carefully looked over his whole body. There truly were no signs of water. Only then did Lu Zhaoyi confirm and nod: “Indeed.”
Lu Zhaoyi asked him again: “You don’t feel unwell, do you?”
Li Xiao still shook his head. Only then did Lu Zhaoyi relax: “When we go back tonight, you must take your medicine and eat the medicated meal.”
Li Xiao froze: “But Uncle Lu and the others didn’t come, did they?”
“They are all very worried about your health. The medicated meal has already been prepared and a runner was called to deliver it.”
“President Lu, I…”
“Pleading won’t help,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I’ve already decided all of this. You just need to eat it.”
Li Xiao blinked and asked him, “Can I skip the medicine then?”
Lu Zhaoyi remembered that he had only brought the medicine because he had said the medicated meal would be inconvenient. He had no choice but to nod: “Alright, if you don’t want to take it, then don’t.”
“That’s great,” Li Xiao said. “Thank you, President Lu.”
Lu Zhaoyi felt amused. It’s just skipping medicine; is there any need to be this happy?
