After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 43
A few days later, at Hongchuan Seventh High School.
Jiang Muyan and Cheng Jianli arrived at school together. As they walked, a passerby enthusiastically greeted them: “Good morning, Young Miss.” Then, noticing Cheng Jianli, they smirked mischievously, “Oh? Young Miss and Teacher Cheng came to school together?”
Jiang Muyan nodded. “Yeah, I ran into Teacher Cheng on the way, so we walked together.”
Cheng Jianli also spoke up. “Morning.”
The passerby replied, “Morning, Class Rep, ah, no, I mean, morning, Teacher Cheng.”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
After the person left, several more classmates passed by, all calling her “Teacher Cheng” without fail. Cheng Jianli found it odd. “Why are they all calling me that? Did you teach them this?”
Jiang Muyan scratched her head, equally clueless. “I have no idea either.”
Suddenly, someone tapped Jiang Muyan on the shoulder. She turned to see Luo Jiajia.
Dressed in her beige school uniform, Luo Jiajia beamed with energy. “Jiang Muyan, have you seen Xu Yinghe?”
Jiang Muyan paused for half a second before shaking her head. “No, I haven’t.”
“That’s weird,” Luo Jiajia said. “We were supposed to meet at the bus stop, but when I got there, she was nowhere to be seen.”
Jiang Muyan suggested, “Maybe she went straight to the classroom.”
“Could be…” Luo Jiajia mused, then suddenly brightened. “Oh! Isn’t this Teacher Cheng?”
Cheng Jianli, who had been standing beside Jiang Muyan, replied calmly, “Hello.”
Luo Jiajia, sporting playful twin braids today, grinned sweetly. “I’m Luo Jiajia from Class 1. You remember me, right? We met at the bar.”
Cheng Jianli wasn’t as enthusiastic, simply nodding. “I remember. You’re Jiang Muyan’s friend.”
Luo Jiajia grabbed Jiang Muyan’s arm and said to Cheng Jianli, “By the way, I need to borrow Young Miss for a bit. It’s urgent.”
Jiang Muyan was dragged away unceremoniously but still managed to turn back and call out, “Teacher Cheng, you go ahead to the classroom. I’ll catch up with you later.”
Pulled into a corner by the staircase, Jiang Muyan asked, confused, “What’s going on?”
Luo Jiajia whipped out her phone, excitement bubbling in her voice. “You know how people on the forum are shipping you and Cheng Jianli, right?”
How could Jiang Muyan not know?
Lately, she’d practically been living on Hongchuan Seventh High’s forum, becoming familiar with all the thread posters.
Jiang Muyan said, “Yeah, you’ve sent me those posts before.”
Luo Jiajia tattled, “Did you know someone’s impersonating you on the forum?!”
Jiang Muyan: “???”
Seeing Jiang Muyan’s stunned expression, Luo Jiajia pulled up the forum on her phone. “Look at this account named [Jiang Muyan]. They’ve been running around using your name, saying all kinds of wild stuff and it sounds so convincing that a lot of people actually believe you and Cheng Jianli have already… you know.”
Jiang Muyan: “!!!”
Damn, how did this happen?
That “Jiang Muyan” was her actual account!
Luo Jiajia continued, “You should use your family’s resources to track down who’s behind this. Five times in one night? Pfft, total lies. ”
Jiang Muyan had been trying to figure out how to explain the account, but when Luo Jiajia cast doubt on the “five times in one night” claim, her competitive spirit flared. Indignant, she blurted, “Why wouldn’t you believe it? It’s totally true!”
Luo Jiajia: “?”
Jiang Muyan suddenly realized she had let something slip and quickly changed the subject, saying hurriedly, “Why do you care so much about what’s on the forum?”
Luo Jiajia’s eyes immediately lit up: “Because I’m shipping you two as a couple too!”
Jiang Muyan: “…?”
Luo Jiajia grinned: “Hehe, the fanfics on the forum feel so real! I reread them over and over every night. Though you’re always the ‘top’guess they think you’re too dominant to be the ‘bottom.'”
Jiang Muyan finally understood: “No wonder so many people were calling her ‘Teacher Xiao Cheng’ earlier. Did they see those forum posts too?”
Luo Jiajia blinked: “Bingo! That’s the nickname fans gave you two.”
Jiang Muyan: “…”
Covering her forehead, Jiang Muyan thought gratefully that Cheng Jianli didn’t have a smartphone and never browsed forums. Otherwise, she’d definitely be furious if she found out.
She was really terrified of making her wife angry!
“Alright, we’ll talk about that ID thing later,” Jiang Muyan said.
“Oh, one more thing,” Luo Jiajia turned off her phone and her expression shifted. “Have you not been in touch with Xu Yinghe these past few days? I heard her dad’s been away on business for over ten days. She’s home alone, and I can’t help but worry.”
Jiang Muyan had been buried under Cheng Jianli’s strict study regimen endless test papers and English drills leaving no time for anything else. “I haven’t contacted her. I’ll call her later, don’t worry.”
Luo Jiajia nodded. “Honestly, I knew something was off when she didn’t wait for me at the bus stop this morning. I’ll check if she’s in Class 1 later.”
Jiang Muyan patted Luo Jiajia’s shoulder. “Sounds good.”
Xu Yinghe’s home.
Her villa was spacious, with a monochrome palette of black and gray. The rooms felt hollow, rarely visited by anyone.
The vast, icy living room stood empty. Xu Yinghe lay alone in her bedroom, her forehead burning and her breathing labored, clearly running a fever.
Last night, she had gone out drinking again. By the time she woke up, she felt awful. A quick temperature check confirmed she was sick.
After calling in sick to her teacher and taking fever reducers, Xu Yinghe decided to rest at home. The chauffeur and housekeeper wouldn’t appear without her permission, leaving the villa eerily quiet.
Her phone buzzed twice. Struggling to open her eyes, she saw Jiang Muyan’s name on the screen.
She answered hoarsely, “Hello?”
Jiang Muyan’s voice came through: “Why weren’t you in class today?”
“Fever,” Xu Yinghe rasped. “Feeling rough. Already told the homeroom teacher.”
“You’re sick?” Concern laced Jiang Muyan’s tone. “Did you go drinking again?”
Xu Yinghe managed a weak chuckle. “Got it in one.”
“You really push yourself too hard,” Jiang Muyan sighed. “Luo Jiajia’s worried sick, thought something happened when you weren’t at the bus stop. Message her later, okay?”
“Will do.”
“Gotta go. Morning self-study’s about to start.”
“Bye,” Xu Yinghe murmured before hanging up.
Swathed in soft white silk pajamas, she curled deeper under the blankets, looking utterly drained.
Suddenly, the text message alert chimed again. Xu Yinghe frowned and opened her eyes to see the name “You Xia” abruptly appear on her phone screen.
Xu Yinghe froze momentarily before a wave of irritation washed over her.
Another message.
That day, the driver had handed over the medical expenses and nutritional compensation to You Xia, but unexpectedly, You Xia refused to accept it. She even got Xu Yinghe’s phone number from the driver, insisting on returning the money.
Xu Yinghe remembered You Xia’s delicate, pale face so excessively quiet. She always thought You Xia was actually quite pretty, yet if you threw her into a crowd, no one would notice her.
Because she gave off such an introverted vibe.
Gentle, fragile, silent.
Xu Yinghe opened the message and read its contents.
You Xia: [The amount you gave is way too much. I can’t possibly use all of it. Can I return the rest to you at school today?]
Xu Yinghe frowned and typed back: [Not necessary.]
Within minutes, another message arrived from You Xia: [But I really can’t feel at ease keeping this much money. My mom wouldn’t allow it either… If it’s inconvenient for you, just tell me your address. I can drop by during lunch.]
Xu Yinghe, already feverish, now felt a headache coming on.
It was just some money, why was this girl making such a big deal out of it?
Xu Yinghe: [Don’t come looking for me.]
After sending it, she turned off her phone.
She closed her eyes and sank into a deep sleep.
Time silently marked its passage as afternoon sunlight seeped through the gaps in the black curtains, gradually spilling onto the gray bedsheets.
Xu Yinghe didn’t know how long she had slept until the doorbell rang, startling her awake.
Someone was really here?
Instinctively, she touched her forehead, still burning hot, though she felt much better than in the morning.
She got up to answer the door. Passing by the computer in the living room, she caught a glimpse of a familiar face on the security feed.
It really was her.
Xu Yinghe guessed the driver who delivered the money must have given You Xia her address.
You Xia stood nervously at the door. She had only rung the bell once, and the wait felt long enough to count each heartbeat. She didn’t even know if Xu Yinghe was home, but she had come anyway.
You Xia’s thoughts were simple and easy to read her gaze toward Xu Yinghe always carried a hint of timidity.
Two minutes later, the door clicked open. You Xia looked up to see Xu Yinghe already turning away indifferently.
Standing there awkwardly, You Xia hesitated until Xu Yinghe lifted her clear, almond-shaped eyes and said, “Come in. Change your shoes.”
You Xia quickly replied, “I won’t change them. I just came to give you the money.”
Xu Yinghe walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge, one of five in the house, this one specifically for chilled water.
Dressed in a light purple cardigan, she effortlessly twisted open a bottle cap and said calmly, “You went through a lot of trouble to find me.”
You Xia murmured, “Yeah, I asked the driver…”
“There are guest slippers in the shoe cabinet,” Xu Yinghe said, lowering her gaze slightly. She was quite tall, You Xia seemed barely 160 cm. “I told you the extra money was for helping me with the drinks. Consider it thanks.”
Under Xu Yinghe’s direction, You Xia changed into slippers and stepped inside. She began to feel uneasy, Xu Yinghe’s home was too spacious and quiet, making her shiver even in her school uniform.
She whispered, “But eighty thousand is too much…”
Xu Yinghe cut her off: “Come here.”
You Xia, startled like a timid rabbit, looked up at Xu Yinghe. The girl was coldly beautiful, her shoulders soft and sloping, with long, wavy hair cascading down her back like seaweed.
She held a glass in her left hand while fiddling with an expensive pair of glasses in her right.
You Xia asked, “Do you wear glasses?”
Xu Yinghe lowered her gaze. “Around a hundred degrees. I wear them occasionally.” She pushed another glass toward her. “Have some water.”
“Thank you.” You Xia quickly took the glass. Their fingers brushed briefly before parting.
“How are things with your new deskmate?” Xu Yinghe asked casually.
You Xia froze for half a second before realizing she meant Zhang Siyuan. Not long ago, Zhang Siyuan had been her deskmate, until the day she ran out after being bullied and bumped into Xu Yinghe.
Her eyes had been red then, yet she had encountered her. You Xia’s fingers curled nervously.
How did Xu Yinghe know about her seating change?
As if reading her mind, Xu Yinghe said, “Your homeroom teacher is my uncle.”
You Xia jolted in realization.
So she had been the one who quietly arranged for her deskmate to be changed without her ever knowing.
“Thank you,” You Xia murmured.
Hearing her gratitude, Xu Yinghe felt a strange satisfaction. Though You Xia’s thanks meant nothing to her, she still wanted to hear it, out of sheer spite.
“No need,” Xu Yinghe said. “I’m still sick, so I won’t see you out. Leave on your own.”
You Xia hesitated. “But the money—”
Xu Yinghe repeated firmly, “No repayment needed.”
With that, she turned toward her room. You Xia instinctively moved to follow, only to accidentally knock a delicate watch off the table with her elbow.
The ash-gray timepiece fell with a muted thud onto the pitch-black carpet.
“Louis Mo wristwatch,” Xu Yinghe glanced back, her tone indifferent. “Twenty-five million. Put it back before you go.”
Though break time lasted only ten minutes, the classroom was lively as ever. Cheng Jianli grabbed Jiang Muyan, who was about to dash off to play, and said mercilessly, “Come recite ancient poetry.”
Jiang Muyan protested, “Teacher Cheng, it’s break time!”
Cheng Jianli nodded calmly. “I know.”
Jiang Muyan ventured carefully, “So… can we balance work and play?”
Cheng Jianli lifted her gaze. “Have you forgotten your promise? You played enough last weekend. If you keep this up, do you still want to get into C University?”
Jiang Muyan slumped onto the desk, refusing to move.
Suddenly, Cheng Jianli smiled faintly and said softly, “I see. You don’t want to attend the same university as me.”
Jiang Muyan: “!!!”
“Who said that?!” She sprang up instantly.
Cheng Jianli’s voice remained quiet, laced with faint disappointment. “C University isn’t just anyone’s to enter. You’d need at least a top-ten ranking in the city. But right now, your grades aren’t even top ten in our class. Maybe my expectations were too high.”
Jiang Muyan stared at her blankly, but Cheng Jianli turned her face away again and sighed softly.
Jiang Muyan immediately flipped open her Chinese textbook. “Don’t sigh, I’ll start studying right now. I always keep my promises to you.”
“Is that so?” Cheng Jianli replied. “Then can you memorize four ancient poems in ten minutes?”
Jiang Muyan was stunned. “Wait, four is way too many…”
“Exactly,” Cheng Jianli lowered her eyes, a hint of sorrow and melancholy in her expression. “You’re all talk. If you can’t even memorize four poems, I might as well tutor Gu Xi instead. She might actually want to attend the same university as me. After all, she’s my friend too…”
“I’ll memorize them, I’ll memorize them! Stop talking!” The moment Gu Xi’s name was mentioned, Jiang Muyan felt her head buzzing. She randomly flipped to a page and began reciting mechanically, like an emotionless robot. “In youth, I shunned the vulgar crowd…”
Cheng Jianli interrupted her. “Not this one.”
A hopeful glimmer flashed in Jiang Muyan’s eyes. “Teacher Cheng, you also think memorizing four poems in ten minutes is impossible, right?”
Cheng Jianli smiled faintly. “This one’s too easy. Pick another.”
Jiang Muyan: “…”
For two consecutive class breaks, Jiang Muyan was forced by Cheng Jianli to memorize ancient poetry. By the time she finally finished today’s task, she felt like her lifespan had been shortened.
Her eyes dull with exhaustion, Jiang Muyan asked, “Teacher Cheng, it’s the long break now. Can I go out and play for a bit?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “The long break is thirty minutes. How long do you want to play?”
Jiang Muyan hesitated. “F-five minutes?”
“Fine.”
Jiang Muyan immediately stood up and rushed outside for fresh air.
She had barely taken two breaths by the windowsill when her phone buzzed in her pocket. To her surprise, it was a notification from the forum moderator tagging her.
Fluffy: 【Hey sis, wanna join our group chat? Let’s fangirl over the Yan-Li ship together! The girls in here are super sweet!】
Fluffy: 【Sent you the QQ number in DMs! Remember to change your ID, lol!】
Join a group chat?
Jiang Muyan scratched her head in confusion.
After a moment’s thought, she created a burner account and joined. Within minutes, she was approved. The group was named 【Those Who Don’t Ship Yan-Li Are Doomed】 and had a few hundred members.

Jiang Muyan was just thinking about how to reply when her message was quickly drowned out by new comments flooding in, all asking about the brand of the blue sportswear the young miss had worn today.
[Report: The young miss’s wardrobe has a new addition, a blue jacket!]
[Noted. She’s been wearing it for a week and you just noticed?]
[Does anyone know the brand? I’ll get Teacher Cheng the same one for her birthday (lol).]
[Jiang Muyan’s clothes must be expensive, right? Can’t afford it, wuwu. Why is it so hard to get this couple to wear matching outfits?!]
Jiang Muyan quickly typed: [That blue jacket was a gift from Teacher Cheng.]
[???]
[???]
[???]
A cascade of “???” followed, leaving Jiang Muyan bewildered. She absentmindedly sent a “confused little dinosaur” emoji.
[Wait, Teacher Cheng bought clothes for the young miss?]
[Looks like it. OMG, I’m shipping them even harder now.]
[Hold on, so the young miss isn’t wearing a designer brand but something Teacher Cheng gave her?]
[Damn, she’s been wearing it for a whole week.]
[Can’t bear to change out of the clothes her wife bought, while her own designer outfits change daily. She’s really… I’m crying.]
[She’s really… I’m crying +1]
[She’s really… I’m crying +2]
[She’s really… I’m crying +3]
Jiang Muyan: “…”
She silently put down her phone, thinking it must be close to five minutes better hurry back and see if Cheng Jianli had assigned her any new tasks.
Returning to the classroom, Jiang Muyan saw Cheng Jianli sitting calmly at her desk. Clutching the phone in her pocket, she approached with a bright smile. “Teacher Cheng, I’m back.”
Cheng Jianli extended her fair hand toward her.
Jiang Muyan: “?”
“What? What do you want?” Jiang Muyan asked blankly.
“I’ve noticed you play with your phone during breaks too,” Cheng Jianli lifted her gaze. “From now on, leave your phone with me. You can have it back after school, no playing during the day.”
Jiang Muyan: “!!!”
Numbly, Jiang Muyan handed over her phone.
Fine. Her only joy of shipping the couple was gone now.
