After Transmigrating Into A Novel, Not Only Did I Become An Omega, But I Also Provoked The Male Lead’s Mother - Chapter 1
A bright moon hung in the sky, overlooking the vibrant lights and bustling activity of the city.
It was now 11 PM. Most workers had already returned home, many already asleep, leaving the streets nearly deserted.
Yet in some bustling areas, the night life was just beginning.
Qin Yue finished cleaning the coffee shop, locked the door, and hurried away after a long day of part-time work.
The dormitory was already locked, and returning now would mean enduring the dormitory auntie’s nagging. Fortunately, Qin Yue had no classes tomorrow morning.
Qin Yue, being somewhat thin-skinned, didn’t want to suffer the dormitory auntie’s incessant chatter. However, considering that the cost of a single night at a hotel could cover a week’s worth of meals, she reluctantly abandoned the idea of staying elsewhere.
The coffee shop was located on a bustling city street, quite far from the university district. Despite the distance, Qin Yue worked part-time there on Saturdays and Sundays, drawn by the generous wages.
Because Qin Yue was simply too poor!
Today, someone had rented out the coffee shop for a private gathering. Perhaps feeling entitled after spending their money, they left behind a massive mess. As the only real employee present, Qin Yue was left to clean up, keeping her busy until late. Thankfully, the coffee shop owner agreed to pay overtime; otherwise, Qin Yue wouldn’t have bothered.
Every city’s university district is built in a remote area. To get back, one must take a long bus ride, with transfers along the way. However, the bus stop for Qin Yue’s university was conveniently located near the city center.
As nightlife began, neon signs along the streets flashed incessantly, as if determined to blind passersby. The bright streetlights overhead shone even brighter than the full moon, almost daring to challenge the heavens themselves.
As Qin Yue turned at the intersection, she noticed the street leading to the bus stop was dimly lit. The towering, lush trees lining the road nearly blocked out the streetlights, casting long, empty shadows over the deserted pavement. Not a single shop was open, and not a soul was in sight—this desolate stretch felt like it belonged to a completely different world from the bustling street she had just left.
Swallowing nervously, she hurried down the road.
The last bus left at 11:30. If she didn’t hurry, she’d miss it.
Unlike the dazzlingly crowded streets, this road felt desolate. The dim streetlights cast eerie, lonely shadows, evoking a sense of oppressive solitude.
After walking about two hundred meters, Qin Yue heard footsteps behind her.
She glanced back suspiciously and saw a tall, slender figure in a black coat. The hood was pulled up, and the head was bowed, obscuring the face in the dim light. The figure remained about a hundred meters behind her.
She didn’t think much of it and continued walking, but the footsteps behind her grew louder and closer.
Memories of TV shows and novels about women being kidnapped and raped at night sent a shiver down Qin Yue’s spine. She turned around again.
The hooded figure was now much closer than before.
I need to get out of here!
Qin Yue quickened her pace, trying to put distance between herself and the hooded figure. But the footsteps behind her sped up as well.
She glanced back and was horrified to find the hooded figure even closer than before!
Panic surged through her. Qin Yue took a deep breath, trying to force herself to calm down, repeating to herself that she was probably overthinking it. She stopped, turned sideways, and pretended to check her phone, glancing at the hooded figure out of the corner of her eye.
The figure stopped about thirty meters behind her.
Qin Yue’s scalp prickled. A coldness shot up her spine, and her grip tightened on her backpack strap. Without thinking twice, she turned and bolted forward.
Footsteps pounded behind her!
So it wasn’t just my imagination after all!
Her mind raced, and Qin Yue felt her breath catch in her throat. Her legs pumped, propelling her forward in a desperate sprint.
The footsteps behind her grew closer and closer.
Had she encountered a serial killer? A demonic entity? A human trafficker?
Her chest couldn’t even contract to expel air before desperately expanding to draw in more, but her frantic movement and high-strung nerves prevented her from catching her breath. Qin Yue felt like she was about to suffocate.
She reached the bus stop, its dimly lit signpost standing like a beacon in the darkness. But unfortunately, the last bus hadn’t arrived, and with danger closing in behind her, she had no choice but to keep running.
At the end of the road, a right turn led to a luxurious club. Though not located on a bustling street, its opulent facade and towering structure drew a steady stream of patrons. Qin Yue had noticed this every time she passed by on the bus, leaving a deep impression.
Where there are people, there will be safety!
Clutching this thought, Qin Yue decisively turned right at the intersection.
A valet in formal attire greeted guests at the club entrance. Qin Yue knew a poor student like her couldn’t enter, so she continued running. Beside the club was an alleyway.
The alley was pitch-black and narrow, but it didn’t look dirty. It probably led to the club’s back door, Qin Yue thought. Without hesitation, she darted into the alley.
The hooded figure turned the corner and saw Qin Yue had vanished. He glanced up at the lodge’s sign, which read “S.S,” hesitated briefly, and then entered.
Qin Yue pressed herself against the wall, her chest heaving violently. She forced herself to breathe shallowly, muffling her gasps. After a long moment, she sensed the hooded figure hadn’t pursued her, likely deterred by the crowd. Her tense nerves finally relaxed.
As soon as she relaxed, the aftermath of her frantic sprint hit her: a searing pain in her chest, a raw throat, and legs that quivered with weakness and soreness.
Caring nothing for appearances, she collapsed to the ground. Only after several long, labored breaths did she manage to stagger to her feet, leaning heavily on the wall for support.
The day’s work combined with the recent sprint left her exhausted, her head spinning with fatigue. She longed to collapse onto her dorm bed.
Just as she turned to assess her situation, a sudden bang echoed down the alley as a door burst open. A woman stumbled out, then slumped against the wall, collapsing into a seated position.
Qin Yue jumped in surprise. Only when she recognized the figure as a woman did her tension ease. “Are you alright?” she asked softly, guided by her upbringing in socialist values and the spirit of Lei Feng.
The woman remained motionless.
Is she unconscious?
Seeing that the person was a woman, Qin Yue’s guard lowered. She was always friendly towards people of the same gender.
She cautiously took two steps toward the woman, who remained seated with her head bowed, her body trembling faintly as if enduring something.
“Are you feeling unwell? Should I call for emergency services?” As Qin Yue approached, she noticed the woman’s trembling, assuming she must be uncomfortable. Just as she reached for her phone, a faint minty scent wafted to her nose.
Her nostrils twitched. The mint aroma carried a piercing chill, like the frigid air of snowy mountains. She felt as if she’d entered a dim forest carpeted with mint plants—cool and refreshing yet so potent it made her limbs go weak.
Qin Yue’s earlier dizziness and vision blurring intensified. She instinctively attributed it to fatigue and low blood sugar from the day’s exertions. After quickly dialing emergency services, she softly informed the woman that help was on the way, then leaned against the wall and instinctively retreated two steps.
Despite the woman’s gender, a lingering unease gnawed at her. Her sixth sense screamed that something was dangerous.
Yet inexplicably, the minty scent began to spread aggressively, growing more dominant and overwhelming. Qin Yue felt her body growing weak, as if she were a pile of dry kindling, parched and feverish—just a spark away from igniting into flames.
As if she had drunk mint liquor, Qin Yue felt her mind growing hazy, her thoughts swirling in a foggy sludge. Her movements slowed, and a faint warmth spread across the back of her neck.
Could the cold sweat from running earlier have given me a fever?
I need to get back to the dorm and lie down. What if it gets worse? Will I be able to get a sick leave? Will the counselor believe me?
Qin Yue’s thoughts raced as she struggled to stand upright. She resolved to wait for the ambulance to arrive before leaving, having done her duty. But suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over her. Her legs buckled, and she began to fall forward.
Ah, no way! I’m actually going to fall!
Qin Yue squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for impact with the ground, only to find herself cradled in a soft embrace.
When did the woman stand up and come over?
The minty fragrance intensified, invasive and overpowering, as if sentient, suffocating Qin Yue in its grip.
The woman wrapped her arms around the kitten that had tumbled into her embrace.
She was so tall, at least half a head taller than Qin Yue!
Qin Yue lifted her head, her misty eyes straining to make out the woman’s features.
The alley was dimly lit, and Qin Yue could only vaguely see the woman’s jet-black hair, a high nose bridge, and thin, pressed lips.
Just as Qin Yue tried to lean closer for a better look, the woman pressed down on the back of her head, pressing her face into the crook of the woman’s neck.
The minty scent intensified, overwhelming Qin Yue’s mind and causing her sweet, peach-scented glands to involuntarily release their aroma.
The woman frowned, her fingers digging into the back of Qin Yue’s neck as if she were throttling her. “Who sent you?”
Her voice, low and husky, resonated in Qin Yue’s ear, making her feel as if her ear was about to burst with pleasure. Qin Yue’s muddled brain couldn’t process the question.
The woman narrowed her eyes, impatient with Qin Yue’s silence. “What’s your purpose?” She licked her canine teeth, roughly brushed aside Qin Yue’s long hair, and yanked down the back of her shirt to expose her overheated, swollen glands, which were desperately emitting their peachy scent.
“Not bad,” the woman said, her voice husky. She inhaled deeply, savoring the scent, then lowered her head.
“W-wait…”
Qin Yue’s muddled mind finally remembered: this was an ABO world. She clutched at the woman’s clothes, trying to stop her, but felt the woman’s breath wash over her, sending a tingling sensation through the gland at the nape of her neck. A wave of intense, minty pheromones hit her, making her tremble and collapse.
Qin Yue was now an Omega, her pheromones smelling like peaches. But this woman was an Alpha, and that minty scent was her pheromones!
How could she have forgotten the rules of this world? She needed to be wary of both men and female Alphas!
Her body felt hot and weak—entirely due to the Alpha’s mating pheromones!
How can Alphas release their pheromones so freely? Are mating periods in ABO worlds really this casual?!
“I don’t dislike your scent,” the woman said. “Who sent you?”
“I… I…” Every cell in Qin Yue’s body sounded alarms. She tried to stand up from the woman’s embrace, but the Alpha pheromones made her weak and feverish. The woman’s exposed skin was icy cold, and the scent of her pheromones was equally frigid, drawing Qin Yue irresistibly closer.
“Never mind, it doesn’t matter,” the woman murmured casually, lowering her head to nuzzle Qin Yue’s gland, her teeth gently nipping and grinding.
A surge of electricity coursed through Qin Yue’s body, exploding in her mind and shattering her rationality. Her entire being dissolved into a puddle of helplessness.
Before Qin Yue could fully react, the woman’s Alpha canine teeth pierced her gland.
“Ah!” A fierce, minty aroma froze Qin Yue with a jolt. In the next instant, her remaining consciousness shattered. Her exhausted body, overwhelmed by the potent Alpha pheromones, briefly lost consciousness.
After a long moment, the woman looked up, her gaze settling on Qin Yue’s flushed cheeks. She licked her lips contentedly. The earlier act had been a temporary marking, a release of excess pheromones triggered by forced estrus, which had slightly alleviated her discomfort.
Seeing Qin Yue briefly unconscious, the woman lifted her effortlessly into her arms. The alley was still unsafe; they needed a relatively secure and quiet place.
Qin Yue took a long time to regain consciousness, her body still trembling and weak from the Alpha pheromones.
With a click, Qin Yue realized she had been brought into a room. Suddenly realizing the implications, she began to struggle frantically.
“Heh.” The woman chuckled softly, finding Qin Yue’s feeble struggles amusing.
“I think you’ve misunderstood—ah!” Qin Yue didn’t finish her sentence before the woman tossed her onto the soft bed.
The lights were off, and Qin Yue could only vaguely make out the woman’s silhouette.
“It’s rare that I don’t feel repulsed,” the woman murmured, gradually approaching. “Don’t worry. Tell whoever sent you that as long as it’s not excessive, any request is acceptable.”
“It’s not… I…” Qin Yue began, but before she could finish, the woman grabbed her arm, flipped her over, and pinned her to the bed.
“Listen to me… mmh” Qin Yue tried to explain, pushing herself up on her arms, but a body pressed against her back, pinning her down again. The woman wrapped her arms around Qin Yue, her warm breath brushing against her nape, making her shiver.
“You talk too much,” the woman murmured, biting down as her hand lifted Qin Yue’s skirt.
Qin Yue shivered at the woman’s cool fingertips…
