- After Transmigrating into a Book, I Was Marked by the Beautiful Mad Villain
- Chapter 1 - Elder Sister
At three in the morning, a short-haired young woman dressed in soft loungewear huddled in her chair. After a long moment of contemplation, she finally tapped the final period into her document.
After checking it over three times, Su Mi hit save, opened the chat interface, and clicked send.
Exhaling a long breath, Su Mi knit her brows slightly as she typed into the chat box: Secretary Ye, this is the speech for tomorrow’s meeting. Please take a look…
Just as her mouse hovered over the “Send” button and she pressed down halfway, a sudden, sharp pain flared in her chest.
Su Mi instantly lost consciousness.
The state of unconsciousness lasted for an unknown amount of time—long enough, it seemed, that Su Mi’s consciousness grew faint and weak, nearly on the verge of dissipating.
Suddenly, a powerful suction pulled at the top of her consciousness.
In an instant, it felt as though she had been swept into a bottomless vortex. Amidst infinite dizziness and lethargy, Su Mi violently broke free, gasping for large lungfuls of fresh air.
Only then did she realize she was in a completely different environment.
This appeared to be a private lounge within an office. It featured common leather sofas, a coffee table with a green plant and a bottle of water, and a unique, fresh fragrance lingering in the air.
She was half-reclined on the sofa, covered by a thin blanket.
Looking up, she saw a wide pane of dark-tinted tea-colored glass directly opposite the sofa. Through the reflection, she could see a young girl with pale blonde, shoulder-length hair sitting on the sofa, her round eyes staring back at her in synchronization.
Su Mi reached up to run a hand through her hair. The pale blonde locks were slightly curled at the ends and felt soft to the touch; the girl in the mirror imitated her, awkwardly smoothing her messy hair.
Her appearance was nearly identical to how she had looked a few years ago. Looking down, she saw she was wearing an exquisite little Western-style dress—something she would almost never wear.
Su Mi recalled the heart palpitations before she lost consciousness and the suction and dizziness she had just felt.
Was this… a resurrection?
“Correct ^^”
A strange voice echoed in her mind, accompanied by a pink pixel-art text pop-up appearing in her field of vision.
“Hello, Host Su Mi. I am System No. 622, the Transmigration System. I am responsible for guiding you through this transmigration mission. I will now transmit the main plot of this book’s small world to you. Please receive it”
Su Mi felt a bad premonition rising. “Wait a second…”
Just as she spoke, a massive wave of information surged into her mind like a giant tide. The external force of the download made her body lurch backward, nearly causing her to faint again.
Her head throbbed as if pierced by needles. The complex information began rapidly converting into something resembling memories.
This was a very ordinary ABO romance novel. The male and female leads met on campus, and after a series of breakups, reunions, “hero saving the beauty” moments, and melodramatic plot twists, they finally achieved a happy ending and entered the halls of marriage after graduation.
—If it weren’t for the villain, that is.
The greatest villainous boss in this novel was a female Alpha, the young and sole leader of the Shen family—the most powerful clan in the Capital.
In the original text, she had a gloomy personality and possessed rare SS-grade mental power. However, due to an unknown “heart ailment,” only the female lead could provide her some relief.
The book didn’t dwell on the specific reasons, only vaguely explaining that the villain would pick up the female lead every week for “treatment.” The descriptions of the villain focused on the female lead’s feelings of rejection toward such wealthy tyranny and her desire for independence.
Su Mi’s current identity was one of this female Alpha villain’s followers.
The mother of the original Su Mi had an old friendship with the villain’s mother. Therefore, even after the villain’s mother passed away, Su Mi’s family was well-looked after. The villain provided various subsidies to the parents’ company and even recognized the original Su Mi as a “god-sister,” frequently keeping her close.
Though the original Su Mi acted obediently in front of the villain, she was actually vain and snobbish.
Seeing the female lead gain more and more favor with the villain, she grew jealous and worried about her own position. She frequently sabotaged the female lead in secret, though these actions only served as catalysts for the romance between the leads.
Midway through the novel, the original Su Mi’s actions were finally discovered by the villain, who discarded her like trash.
Without the villain’s subsidies, her parents’ company was quickly surrounded and swallowed by competitors, eventually undergoing bankruptcy liquidation.
The subsequent plot was supposed to follow the leads as they overcame the villain’s obstacles to reach their happy ending.
However, after the villain—following the preordained plot of the world’s consciousness—stumbled upon the scene of the leads’ first kiss, she suddenly blacked out.
Her mental power spiraled out of control. She captured the leads, failed a sudden mental evolution, and reduced the leads and herself to dust, causing the entire small world to collapse.
“Every small world has its own consciousness that follows a predetermined plot to ensure key points don’t deviate significantly. But this villain’s blackening is something the world consciousness cannot handle. No matter how many times the world restarts, the villain will blacken and cause the world’s destruction,” the System explained timely.
“Therefore, we need outside forces to assist in resolving the villain’s blackening. According to the world consciousness’s calculations, we must ensure the villain’s blackening value is lower than 50% when the leads confirm their relationship. Otherwise, her mental power will inevitably go berserk, leading to the world’s end.”
Su Mi processed this series of ridiculous plot points and her role in them with a complicated mood.
She pointed to herself. “So I…”
The System sent a smiling emoji: “:) Yes. Your original body has lost its vital functions. We detected that your consciousness is highly compatible with this ‘cannon fodder’ body. We absorbed your dissipating consciousness and placed it into this character with the same name. You need to complete the mission to lower the villain’s blackening value.”
“During the mission, you can check the villain’s blackening value in the upper right corner at any time.”
Su Mi looked up. In the upper right corner sat a dark-red 90%.
System: “During the mission, please ensure your OOC (Out of Character) deviation does not exceed 30%. We provide a complimentary ‘OOC Protection Filter.’ Any OOC below 30% will not be noticed by the natives. Conversely, you will face corresponding punishments. This filter will strengthen as you integrate into the world and complete tasks. Upon successful completion, it will reach 100%, allowing you to live freely in this world as Su Mi.”
Su Mi: “And if the mission fails?”
The System’s voice was calm: “Then we can only express our regrets. Your conscious energy is not sufficient to support a second absorption or attachment.”
It was a polite way of saying: if you fail, you die along with the world.
Su Mi didn’t hesitate. Lowering her eyes, she said, “Deal.”
She rubbed her temples. Just as she pulled back the thin blanket, the lounge door was pushed open.
A man walked in. He was tall, with a gentle and refined appearance, looking to be about thirty years old. He wore a well-fitted suit and elegant rimless glasses, walking with a hurried pace.
His hair was the same as Su Mi’s: pale blonde and slightly curly.
Su Mi realized this was the original host’s father.
“Yaya, the secretary said you fainted.” He called out the host’s nickname. Seeing Su Mi sitting perfectly fine on the sofa, he breathed a sigh of relief. He reached out to check her forehead, squeezed her arm, and then cautiously checked the back of her neck.
“The gland is still a bit red. You’ve just finished your differentiation period and only came home from the center today. You should be resting. Why did your mother let you deliver things to me? Even though I’m busy, I can manage to watch Xiao Yi.”
The man grumbled as he fussed over her.
Su Mi stared blankly after this long string of nagging.
Prompted by the System, she finally reacted and called out “Father” somewhat awkwardly.
The feeling was very foreign.
The host’s father was named Wen Zisu, a male Omega.
Their family was a traditional Female Alpha/Male Omega pairing. Her mother, Su Ciyu, had founded a tech company, and her father was an executive at a subsidiary under the Shen Group.
With modern technology and increased human lifespans, forty was still considered quite young. Her father had given birth to a younger brother, Su Yi, early last year.
According to the ABO settings of this world, everyone undergoes differentiation on their 18th birthday. When Su Mi transmigrated, the host had just finished this period.
Su Mi recalled the plot; wasn’t the follower she was playing a Beta?
However, Wen Zisu lowered his voice in the next breath and said, “The leave for your differentiation was calculated based on the Beta status you reported, but you are actually an Omega. You should be resting much longer. Sigh, I really don’t know what your mother was thinking, letting you act so recklessly.”
Su Mi: ?
She frowned and asked the System, “Is the plot you gave me incomplete?”
System: “Hello. Because your conscious energy was weak during collection, we couldn’t directly integrate all of the host’s memories. However, the memories are all there. As you execute the mission and experience this world, the memories will return to you like fragments ^^.”
Su Mi: …Fine.
Facing Wen Zisu’s worried gaze, she tested the waters: “I wasn’t being reckless…”
Wen Zisu raised an eyebrow. For a man who looked quite frail, his angry expression actually made Su Mi flinch instinctively.
He pinched Su Mi’s ear in exasperation. “Weren’t you? Discussing things with your mother like that… That Shen Han is an Alpha, and there is a distinction between A and O. You finally managed to get recognized as a god-sister, but an Omega identity makes it inconvenient to visit often. Your mother is truly muddle-headed. Is this something you can just play around with? She doesn’t know how inconvenient it is for us Omegas, honestly!”
Su Mi wanted to pull away but remained stiff as her ear was pinched.
Fortunately, Wen Zisu let go quickly.
Because of this, she recalled the cause and effect of the situation.
It was a decision the original host had made to better cling to the “golden thigh” that was the villain.
After all, Shen Han was a double S-grade Alpha and showed no interest in any Omega except for the female lead.
The original host was determined to keep her hold on this connection. Fearing that an “AO distinction” would distance them, she had conspired with her parents to falsify her differentiation results as a Beta.
Su Mi thought about the original text’s description of her family’s company being surrounded by wolves… After losing the villain’s support, they were directly attacked until they went bankrupt.
She answered honestly, “After all, our family’s business is all following… Sister.”
Wen Zisu clearly understood this truth as well.
It was just that his daughter had only just become an adult; there was no need for her to do these things.
He sighed and checked the back of Su Mi’s neck again with concern. The specialized scent-blocking patch was extremely stealthy; unless one deliberately searched for its edges, anyone would think it was just skin.
“Things have come to this. Your mother has already submitted all the documents. There’s no chance to change it back to Omega now. Anyway, just remember the Omega precautions I told you. Did you bring enough scent-blockers today?”
Su Mi: What precautions? Scent-blockers?
As a modern person visiting an ABO world for the first time, she was dazed for a moment.
Following the System’s reminder, she opened the exquisite small bag next to the sofa to show Wen Zisu.
Scent-blocking patches, inhibitors, emergency sprays… everything that should be prepared was there.
Wen Zisu checked them one by one before finally nodding in relief.
“I just finished a meeting and have something else to do soon, so I can’t stay with you,” Wen Zisu said, glancing at the optical computer on his wrist as a new message popped up. “If you need anything, just have the secretary do it. Xiao Yi is playing in my office; you can go keep him company once you’ve rested.”
“Okay,” Su Mi agreed.
After Wen Zisu left the lounge, Su Mi curiously checked the optical computer on her wrist.
The world she came from wasn’t advanced enough to have mid-air projections. It was quite fun.
Su Mi scrolled to the communication software, “Light-Speed.”
The original host seemed to be quite popular; there were over a hundred unread messages, with a bright red notification dot flashing in the bottom left corner.
Su Mi knit her brows at the sight.
There was only one pinned contact, with the straightforward remark “Shen Han.” The profile picture was a black crane in ink-wash style, which looked quite artistic.
That must be the world’s villain, Shen Han.
Clicking in, she saw their chat history wasn’t extensive.
Most of it consisted of the original host initiating questions: Sister, are you free today? Sister, my father made some new pastries, can I bring some for you to try this weekend? Sister, I’m bringing Nanqiao over tomorrow, okay?
The villain’s replies were generally concise, only saying a few more words when the name “Nanqiao” was mentioned.
Su Mi scrolled through and concluded: It seemed the villain was indeed only interested in Xu Nanqiao—the female lead.
Their last chat record was the original host telling Shen Han she had entered her differentiation period.
Shen Han had replied with a solitary “Okay.”
Perhaps there was an online notification on Light-Speed, for two words suddenly popped up in Shen Han’s chat box: Are you there?
Su Mi hesitated for a moment, then replied in the original host’s style: Sister, I’m here.
System: “Host, you’re stealing my emoji QAQ.”
Su Mi: “…”
The input indicator flickered on Shen Han’s end. Not long after, a call came through directly.
Su Mi answered the call.
Clearing her throat, Su Mi waited for a moment, but those Schrödinger-like memory fragments didn’t appear.
She wasn’t quite sure how the original host spoke to Shen Han.
If it was similar to her texts…
Su Mi tried her best to make her voice sound sweet and obedient. “Sister, is there something you need?”
The other end suddenly went silent.
The silence lasted long enough to make Su Mi wonder if she had said something wrong.
Then, a slightly raspy, cold female voice came through the phone, asking: “Are you sure your differentiation period is over?”
