- Chapter 18 - Temptation
The meal dragged on into the afternoon. When Dai Gucan and Gu Jiaoyang returned to the table, the atmosphere was strangely tense for a while. The four men opposite discreetly darted their eyes between the two of them, eventually settling on a look that was uncannily similar to mothers finally marrying off their clumsy sons. They gave red envelopes to both Dai Gucan and Gu Jiaoyang, exchanged a few final pleasantries, and then tactfully took their leave.
As faithful associates who had followed their boss for years, they were highly observant. Just look at that, they thought. In such a short time, the sparks were already flying between them in the toilet! Tsk, tsk, tsk. The poor young man’s lip is even split open. How intensely did they kiss? If they hadn’t been waiting for them to finish dinner, they probably would have gone straight to a private suite in the nearby courtyard.
The stone had finally blossomed. He couldn’t restrain himself!
Congratulations! May they live happily ever after and have children soon! Our boss finally has a partner!
Although Dai Gucan’s friends thoughtfully left the two of them alone as quickly as possible, the awkward atmosphere persisted until they arrived back home. They hadn’t exchanged a single word the entire way. Mr. Dai remained rigid, leaning against the far side of the back seat with his hands clenched, while Gu Jiaoyang tilted his head, continuously licking the broken skin on his lip.
A cultivator’s wounds healed quickly, but Gu Jiaoyang intentionally prevented it from scabbing over, continually licking the area.
Unlike Dai Gucan’s feigned composure and panic, Gu Jiaoyang was even a little nostalgic. Even though the contact had been extremely brief, the subtle sensation of skin-on-skin had stirred a restless yearning in his heart.
Especially Mr. Dai’s tall stature, the clearly discernible abdominal muscles, the bobbing Adam’s apple, and the cedarwood scent he caught from his neck all these mature masculine charms were relentlessly igniting the internal fire of Gu Jiaoyang, who had been single for countless years.
At heart, they were both grown men; it would have been a miracle if they could restrain themselves.
So, the moment they arrived home, Gu Jiaoyang caught sight of Mr. Dai, who was making a hasty retreat upstairs with his clothes, narrowed his eyes, and a wicked idea sprang to mind.
He tossed aside all the couple’s relationship advice and strategies he had collected. Compared to wearing the other man’s clothes or the awkward spontaneity of the kiss, Gu Jiaoyang now wanted to move towards something more substantial.
“Wuh…” A tiny, muffled sob sounded behind him. Dai Gucan, who was about to step onto the stairs, halted abruptly.
“Wuh wuh…” The young man was crying, pitifully muffling his voice, likely hoping not to be heard. The sound was broken and suppressed, but even from the occasional leaks, one could guess the owner was hiding in a corner, hands covering his mouth, lashes lowered and studded with tears.
I still haven’t apologised. I was the one who insisted on taking him out to dinner despite his physical condition, and now I kissed him and haven’t said a word.
Thinking this, Dai Gucan tossed the clothes in his hand onto the sofa. His mind was filled with images of the young man weeping uncontrollably. He didn’t bother trying to avoid the question of why he had reacted as he did and rushed back to the hallway. Sure enough, he saw the young man tucked into the shadow of the staircase, facing the wall, quietly sobbing to himself.
Bloody hell, why is this little thing so endearing?
Dai Gucan squeezed his knuckles and sighed in defeat. He walked over, gently turned the young man around, and saw him crying with his hands covering his mouth and nose. Because he was trying to suppress the sound, he was holding his breath, flushed crimson from lack of oxygen, the corners of his eyes turning a vibrant, tear-stained red.
Dai Gucan’s heart skipped a beat. He expressionlessly cupped the boy’s face and gently pulled his small hands away, not caring that he was wiping away the tears. “My fault, my fault. Don’t cry.”
He wasn’t good at comforting people, so his tone was inevitably stiff.
Dai Gucan grasped the young man’s thin wrist one that he could comfortably hold three of and cautiously wiped his tears. But because the skin under his fingers was excessively smooth, he couldn’t resist lightly brushing it with his thumb, which immediately left a red mark.
…Beast!
He cursed himself inwardly for still taking advantage of him even now. Dai Gucan looked at the young man’s mouth. The small cut on his cherry-sized lip was white, and it looked painful.
Tsk. I was so caught up in my inner turmoil that I forgot about this.
“Wait here, I’ll get some medicine.” Mr. Dai, holding the boy’s face elevated, had initially wanted to blow gently on the wound to ease the pain, but realising the posture was too intimate, he maintained the position and just said he would find medicine.
“Wuh… Wuh wuh… Mr. Dai, does Mr. Dai hate me, wuh wuh…”
Just as Dai Gucan was about to take his hands away and fetch the medicine, the young man clung to his hands from the outside, watching him nervously through trembling lashes, the tears falling faster.
“What? What do you mean, hate? I don’t hate you.” Dai Gucan’s heart was in utter disarray because of the young man’s tears.
Medicine? What medicine? Consoling him is the priority.
“But but Mr. Dai hasn’t been happy since he kissed me… wuh wuh…”
“Does that mean Yangyang wasn’t sweet enough when he kissed? So, so Mr. Dai hates me… wuh wuh…”
“Wuh wuh… Mr. Dai, please don’t hate Yangyang. Yangyang will be sweet when we kiss next time, wuh wuh…”
What kind of predatory words are those?!
Dai Gucan was violently stunned by the words coming out of the young man’s mouth.
Sweet? Sweet mouth?
Sweet for kissing what?
“Wuh wuh… Mr. Dai… is Yangyang ill? It hurt so much here when Mr. Dai kissed me, and now that Mr. Dai is ignoring me, it feels so painfully heavy here…” As he spoke, Gu Jiaoyang took Dai Gucan’s cupping hands and moved them downwards.
With extremely light pressure, he slowly guided them across his chin, his small, delicate Adam’s apple, his exquisite collarbone, and then to his chest.
Because he was thinking of unspeakably stimulating things, his heart was naturally beating very fast, like a frantic little Bambi, full of life.
Dai Gucan was completely bewildered by Gu Jiaoyang’s seemingly loving words, allowing the boy to guide his hands down, brushing past several sensual areas of his young, beautiful body until they settled over his barely muscular chest.
Because his hands were large, it was unavoidable that he would brush past the small nipple beneath the thin summer shirt.
Combined with the passionate heartbeat under his palm, which perfectly matched the boy’s suggestive words, Dai Gucan instantly felt his scalp prickle. A scorching heat rushed from the top of his head all the way to his heels.
Pure yet seductive the ultimate uke.
For some reason, this phrase he’d heard from his friends echoed in his mind, complete with a tumultuous, internal sound wave.
