After Transmigrating as the "Green Tea" Fake Heiress, I Got My Happy Ending with the Real Heiress - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
Wen Yun wasn’t bothered by this. When she lived in the dorms, she had helped roommates receive packages of personal items. Seeing the item, she quickly closed the box, set it aside, and opened a few more boxes, simply sorting the clothes and daily necessities.
“Should I put the clothes on your bed first?” she asked Ruan Yu.
“Yes, thank you, Yunyun,” Ruan Yu replied, still engrossed in tidying.
So, Wen Yun stacked the clothing bags together, scooped up the boxes containing the bras, walked into the room, and placed them on the empty space on the bed.
She noticed the Laine Bear Reggie, which she had given Ruan Yu yesterday, sitting properly by the pillow, and felt a slight sense of relief. She returned to the doorway to continue helping with the tidying.
It seems the protagonist doesn’t have too bad an impression of her, otherwise, she wouldn’t place the teddy bear so close.
Ruan Yu had brought some of her own toiletries, so the newly purchased ones were few. After sorting them, she placed them all in a washbasin, intending to take them upstairs when she went to the second floor to wash up later.
The two of them worked on their respective sides. Near the end, Wen Yun suddenly remembered her current status: the sorting and organizing work could have been completely entrusted to the butler or a maid.
Having lived alone for a long time in her previous life, she was used to doing everything herself and wasn’t accustomed to ordering others around.
But now that they were almost finished, dwelling on it was pointless.
Shaking off the stray thoughts, Wen Yun opened the last box and was stunned to find it completely filled with various study guides and test papers.
“Aunt Ge said she could help me choose study guides that match Langying’s teaching level,” Ruan Yu’s voice sounded from behind her. “So I agreed to her.”
Wen Yun flipped through a few books and felt several looked strangely familiar. She couldn’t help but say, “Actually, you could borrow from me. I have all these books, and I’ve even made notes in them.”
“But you need them for your own revision too,” Ruan Yu said. “It’s more convenient if we keep them separate.”
“That’s true. Just remember to tell me if you need to see my notes,” Wen Yun nodded, picking up a stack of test papers. “Where should these go?”
“The desk is fine.” Ruan Yu had just finished organizing her daily necessities. She got up, pulled the edge of the cardboard box, dragged it to the desk, and quickly placed the books onto the surface.
The empty boxes piled at the doorway were soon nested one inside the other by Wen Yun, pushed into the living room, and instructed the butler to dispose of.
With the tidying done, Wen Yun had nothing else to do, so she simply took the washbasin filled with toiletries upstairs, intending to take a bath herself after helping Ruan Yu put her things away.
Unfortunately, just as she carried the basin upstairs, she met Mother Wen, who was coming out of her room.
Mother Wen looked down at the basin and its contents, asking with a smile: “These are Xiao Yu’s things, right? Why didn’t you let Aunt Ge take them?”
“I was about to take a bath anyway, so I helped Xiao Yu bring them up on the way,” Wen Yun replied with a smile. “Mom wouldn’t mind, would you?”
Because of what happened at the dining table, she deliberately gave Mother Wen a taste of her own “green tea” talk, but her voice was soft and obedient, projecting an image of harmlessness.
“It’s naturally a good thing that Yunyun is willing to take care of Xiao Yu. How could Mom mind?” Mother Wen also said softly. “After you put the things away, let Aunt Ge prepare a flower bath for you. You must be tired from supporting the exam today.”
“Not tired at all, thank you for your concern, Mom,” Wen Yun’s smile was bright.
Bidding Mother Wen farewell, Wen Yun turned and walked into her dedicated bathroom.
“Host seems to have already mastered the essence of Green Tea Talk!” the System suddenly exclaimed. “And it’s only the second day.”
Wen Yun made a sound of tsk: “I have to rely on it to survive, so how can I not learn quickly?”
I’m grateful the System provided enough Green Tea Talk examples. I pulled them out to cringe at when I was bored and brainwashed myself several times. It wasn’t hard to merely integrate into this “green tea” atmosphere and be a surface-level ‘green tea.’
She cleared a spot on the towel rack and the vanity, humming softly as she meticulously arranged Ruan Yu’s toiletries. Then, she instructed the butler to prepare her daily flower bath.
The butler, who was currently cleaning the art room, had just agreed when Wen Yun added: “Aunt Ge, Xiao Yu spent the whole day testing and must be physically and mentally exhausted. Could you please prepare a nice bath for her too?”
After Wen Yun left, Ruan Yu opened the clothing bag and realized that her new undergarments had also arrived, and Wen Yun had been the one to pack them.
Her face instantly flushed. She clenched the clothing bag in her hand, kneading it repeatedly.
Such private items… why did that person have no reaction at all while sorting them out?!
Was it because the outer packaging was in English and the person didn’t notice it at all? Or was it simply that she didn’t want to embarrass me, so she just took them with the other clothes without saying a word?
Ruan Yu was quite shy about such things. No one except her grandmother had ever sorted her intimate wear. She stood awkwardly for a good while before regaining her composure, then quickly unpacked the remaining clothing bags.
She sorted the clothes into hand-wash and machine-wash piles, checked the sizes against herself, and repeatedly examined them. Feeling satisfied, she cut off the tags and took the machine-washable light-colored clothes to the household laundry room.
By the time everything was tidied up, the butler was just ushering the designer and her assistant through the door.
Ruan Yu had no particular ideas for her master bedroom. After the designer showed her a few renovation plans, she picked two visually appealing options for reference. She then took the designer on a quick tour of the art room and scheduled a date to review the final design proposal.
Father Wen had already given the designer instructions, so Ruan Yu was left to make the decisions. Once the discussion was over, she politely saw the designer off.
“This true heiress of the Wen family is quite different from what I imagined,” the designer remarked to her assistant after leaving the Wen residence. “She’s just been brought back, yet she already has a confident, at-ease demeanor.”
Ruan Yu was unaware of this compliment. She was currently standing bewildered in the bathroom.
A faint floral fragrance, carried by the steam, wafted into her nose.
Looking at the pool of warm, petal-strewn water in the bathtub, she turned blankly and asked the butler, “Is this the ‘reward’ from Yunyun?”
“That’s right, Miss Xiao Yu. Please enjoy,” the butler said with a smile, then exited the bathroom.
Ruan Yu, however, was at a loss.
She knew that to the Wen family members, the bathtub was an extremely private bathing space, almost a “one person, one tub” rule.
Did that “Wen Yun” not know about the Wen family’s unspoken rule and thus offered the bathtub to her, or did she deliberately go against it?
In just a day and a half, that person had done so many things for her that were uncharacteristic of the original Wen Yun. Was she truly unafraid of being suspected by the Wen family?
After much hesitation, Ruan Yu finally settled into the bathtub.
The deep red rose petals gathered around her, catching her eyes and unconsciously reminding her of the things “Wen Yun” had said today.
She still couldn’t figure out who that person was and why she had been kind to her from the very beginning.
If she herself were suddenly to become the fake heiress of a wealthy family, faced with many choices, she might not necessarily choose to treat the newly returned true heiress well.
For one, she didn’t know the true heiress well and couldn’t easily open up to her. For another, many wealthy elders, like her biological parents, would intentionally create situations and rivalry to secretly guide their biological daughter and adopted daughter to compete in all aspects.
In her previous life, both she and Wen Yun were trapped in the situation. In this life, she had jumped out of the trap, and coupled with “Wen Yun’s” lack of cooperation with the Wen parents, she began to understand some truths.
But it was precisely because she understood this that she was more confused about the motives of the person who had replaced Wen Yun.
Yet, that person only asked her to study well and not go astray—such a simple request gave her no leads to guess from.
Ruan Yu picked up two soaked rose petals, rubbed them between her fingers, and finally let out a long sigh.
Perhaps once she successfully passes the Gaokao, everything will become clear.
