After Transmigrating As The Female Lead Of A Cruel Novel, I Raised a Big Shot Cat - Chapter 7
Bo Shuhan had never felt time pass so quickly. After the surgery, she had been lying in the cage in a daze. She could perceive everything in the outside world, but sometimes she simply couldn’t control her own body.
It felt as if the anesthesia had never ended. Fortunately, Ji Qingyue didn’t find her bothersome and fed her at regular intervals.
Luckily, despite being in a stupor, she retained just enough consciousness to maintain her personal hygiene; otherwise, Bo Shuhan suspected she would have died of shame and indignation once she fully recovered.
Watching the sutured wounds on the cat’s body, Ji Qingyue couldn’t suppress the heartache in her eyes. “Once the stitches are removed, does the kitty not have to stay in the cage anymore?”
“That’s right. Don’t worry, this cat’s injuries were mainly external and related to blood loss. Over the past few days, I’ve been adding a small amount of sedative to its medication. It hasn’t been moving around, so the wounds haven’t torn, and it’s healing very well. Just make sure it doesn’t jump down suddenly from high places, and there shouldn’t be any major issues.”
Zhou Ruotong’s hands were very steady. In less than five minutes, all the stitches on Bo Shuhan’s body were removed, leaving only the bandage on her right paw, which hadn’t reached the seven day mark yet.
Bo Shuhan, however, felt none of the joy she should have. ??? Sedatives and anesthesia? Well, thank you so much! Don’t let me catch you off guard later!
Snipping the last thread off the cat, Zhou Ruotong breathed a sigh of relief, looking at Ji Qingyue with a hint of reluctance.
Since the cat was mostly healed, Ji Qingyue wouldn’t need to come every day anymore.
It was all her dad’s fault!
She clearly wanted to bring this “Big Sister” home to be her wife, but her dad’s meddling turned her into a niece instead.
On top of that, she was forced to give Ji Qingyue a 1,000 yuan red envelope as a “meeting gift.”
Not only did she lose money, but she lost a potential wife too. Zhou Ruotong felt so wronged!
Bo Shuhan had no idea someone was trying to steal her “wife.” Listening to the two of them discuss her injuries, she felt a bit dazed.
She had returned to two years ago, turned into a cat, and encountered Ji Qingyue. It all felt as beautiful as a dream.
Her green eyes aimlessly scanned the small consultation room, her tail flicking unconsciously behind her.
“Looks like its spirit is quite good, it even knows how to flick its tail.” Seeing the cat so energetic made Zhou Ruotong happy, she never hid her love for animals.
“Yes, it’s wonderful that she’s okay.”
As the subject of their conversation, Bo Shuhan’s eyes suddenly drifted to a diagnostic report nearby.
It must have been left by the previous cat patient, and then October 13, 2022?
Wait, that’s not right. In her previous life, wasn’t Ji Qingyue supposed to have arrived in Paris on October 8, 2022? It was already October 13th now. Why hadn’t Ji Qingyue gone to Paris?
The cat suddenly stood up. Ji Qingyue simply thought it didn’t want to stay there anymore and rubbed its bald little head.
Only then did Bo Shuhan snap back to reality and look at the woman beside her. (Cat head tilt.jpg)
Ji Qingyue’s eyes curved slightly. “Little one, it seems you’re recovering well.”
Bo Shuhan didn’t meow or move, it was as if she were meeting her for the first time, scrutinizing her from head to toe.
Of course, Zhou Ruotong and Ji Qingyue didn’t know that a kitten could observe a person so closely. They just thought the kitten was spacing out.
Zhou Ruotong, in particular, wondered if the kitten had been given too much anesthesia and had turned a bit “silly.”
Rubbing her chin, Zhou Ruotong suddenly reached for its tail, only to get swiped by a claw in the next second.
Zhou Ruotong: QAQ
She protested loudly: “Why is it that when little Qingyue touches you, you don’t hit her, but you scratch me instead? I’m your savior!”
Bo Shuhan didn’t even look at her. She sat down in a proper cat-squat, looking at Ji Qingyue, wanting to ask why she hadn’t gone to Paris. But when she opened her mouth, only a delicate, soft meow came out.
Ji Qingyue burst into laughter immediately.
There was no helping it; the cat’s skin was a grayish-black color, and its body was covered in scars that hadn’t fully healed, making it look quite fierce like a “mob boss” among cats.
Who would have thought that as soon as it opened its mouth, it would sound like a “voice actor” trying to be cute?
Bo Shuhan was baffled by Ji Qingyue’s laughter. Just as she was about to meow again, she was suddenly pulled into a hug, and then she received a gentle kiss.
That kiss landed lightly on her head, soft and warm, and the breath from the woman’s nose puffed right against her ear.
Bo Shuhan’s little ears twitched, and then she went blank.
What is it like to have never even held the hand of the person you loved in your previous life, only to be kissed by them in this one?
Bo Shuhan’s response: She got a bit of a nosebleed and was promptly sent back into the surgery room. (Melancholy.jpg)
After taking some X-rays, Zhou Ruotong was still puzzled. “When we did the initial check-up, there was no internal organ damage, and there isn’t any today either. So what is up with this nosebleed? Did I give it too much of a blood transfusion?”
While Zhou Ruotong began to contemplate which medical step might have gone wrong, Ji Qingyue didn’t mind. She absentmindedly stroked the kitten in her arms, which seemed to be playing dead.
Ji Qingyue always felt the cat was exceptionally intelligent. But then again, if it wasn’t intelligent, how would it have known to seek her help?
Without thinking much more, Ji Qingyue finished discussing the precautions with Zhou Ruotong and left, carrying the little kitten in her arms.
The little kitten was truly well-behaved. Even though she wasn’t placed in a carrier after getting into the car, she didn’t panic at the sound of the bustling traffic or the roar of the engine. She nestled quietly in the woman’s arms, seemingly asleep.
Ji Qingyue absentmindedly stroked the kitten’s head.
While waiting for a red light, the driver glanced back curiously. The girl was wearing a baseball cap and a mask, making her face hard to see, but judging by her figure and aura, she was likely quite beautiful.
However, the cat the girl was holding was a bit of an eyesore.
Whatever surgery it had undergone had left it completely shaved, not a single hair remained, not even on its tail. It looked exactly like a giant black rat.
To make matters worse, this “giant black rat” was wearing a red outfit. With those glowing green eyes, it looked okay at a glance, but upon closer inspection, it was quite a sight to behold.
Still, seeing how the girl fondled the kitten’s head as if she couldn’t bear to let go, the driver simply smiled.
The place where Ji Qingyue lived wasn’t far from the clinic, a three bedroom apartment she lived in for free. It had been lent to her by Zhou Qingxiu.
Initially, Ji Qingyue wanted to pay rent, but Zhou Qingxiu used his status as her grandfather’s peer to pressure her. Once he used the phrase, “When an elder gives, one must not refuse,” the owner of the house was decided.
After getting out of the car and taking the elevator to the 27th floor, Bo Shuhan finally snapped out of her daze. Looking at this bright and cozy little home, her first priority was to find Ji Qingyue’s bed.
It’s getting cold and I have no fur. It’s perfectly reasonable to sleep with Ji Qingyue, right? (Cat hands on hips.jpg)
Watching the cat immediately begin patrolling its new territory the moment its paws hit the floor, Ji Qingyue decided to give her a name.
She couldn’t just keep calling her “Kitty” every day.
What should she call her?
Little Black? Blackie? Charcoal? Coal Ball?
After Bo Shuhan finished inspecting every corner, she was very satisfied with the place.
She now had a general understanding of the home: three bedrooms and two living areas. The largest master bedroom was Ji Qingyue’s. The other two rooms had been knocked through into one, originally meant for exercise equipment, everything except a single treadmill had been moved out to turn it into a massive fashion design studio.
There was supposed to be access to the roof, but the door was locked and Bo Shuhan couldn’t get up there. She didn’t force it and returned to the living room to find Ji Qingyue sitting on a beige sofa, chin resting on her hand, gazing into the distance as if deep in thought.
“Meow~”
That familiar, high-pitched “cutesy” meow instantly brought Ji Qingyue’s attention back. She reached out and scooped the cat into her arms.
Ji Qingyue looked into Bo Shuhan’s emerald-green eyes and suddenly smiled.
“Kitty, how about I call you Boss from now on?”
“Meow~” Whatever you say~
“You like it too? Then, Boss?”
“Meow~”
Regardless of whether it was a coincidence, Ji Qingyue rubbed Boss’s smooth little head and said, “The little clothes I bought for you will be arriving soon. In a few days, you can change into other outfits. It’s getting cold. Boss mustn’t catch a cold, okay?”
When talking to the cat, Ji Qingyue was always gentle and patient. The sunlight spilled across her face as she smiled beautifully, her eyes looking as if you were the only thing in her world.
Bo Shuhan thought dizzily: If this is a dream, it would be best if I never wake up.
Just as Boss and Ji Qingyue were acting all lovey-dovey, there was a sudden knock at the door.
Ji Qingyue was surprised and immediately became a bit wary.
Grandpa Zhou had told her that she was the only resident on this floor. The other three units hadn’t been sold for years, so it was impossible for anyone to be living there.
If someone knocked, she had to see exactly who it was to prevent any bad actors from getting in.
Consequently, Ji Qingyue’s door lock was equipped with a camera, and there were three or four other cameras monitoring the stairwell and hallway.
“Who is it?” Ji Qingyue walked over cautiously. When she saw the face captured by the camera, she froze.
“Bo Shuhan?” she whispered softly.
Boss’s ears immediately perked up. She seemed to have heard her own name.
The knocking outside stopped for a moment, but in the next second, it started up again in a rhythmic pattern.
