After Transmigrating As The Female Lead Of A Cruel Novel, I Raised a Big Shot Cat - Chapter 24.1
The audience thought Lemon C was just doing a bit and urged her to accept. Meanwhile, Ji Qingyue had calmed the cat down and attached a small speaker to the underside of the round stool. This way, when she spoke, it would sound like the cat was talking.
Lemon C accepted the request. The screen split in two: Lemon C on the left, and a black cat on the right!
Ji Qingyue stood directly in front of Great Boss and waved. The cat followed suit, raising a paw to wave. Just then, Ji Qingyue’s voice rang out. “Hello, humans.”
“WTF!”
Even though they knew it was an act, seeing the cat staring into the camera while waving left the viewers and Lemon C stunned. As “wow” flooded the chat, Ji Qingyue continued, “Hello, is this Big Sister Lemon C?”
Ji Qingyue intentionally masked her voice, making it sound like a crisp, lively young girl.
Lemon C immediately acted humble and terrified. “Hello, Great Boss. Just call me Little C. I don’t dare call myself ‘Big Sister’.”
Watching through the screen, Ji Qingyue couldn’t help but admire her. As expected of a top streamer, her sense of rhythm and ability to play along were incredible.
However, the process had to continue. Speaking through Great Boss, Ji Qingyue expressed her apologies to Lemon C and stated she had to move on to apologize to the next female streamer. Though Lemon C was envious of the current engagement rate, she agreed to end the link. They were all in the same circle, after all. Ji Qingyue owed her a favor now, and she could always ask for a private collab later.
After parting ways with Lemon C, Ji Qingyue began the next link-up. Simultaneously, the interaction between Lemon C and Great Boss went viral. Countless people flooded into Lemon C’s room, and seeing the link had ended, they went searching for Great Boss’s stream.
Seeing the massive surge and subsequent dip in viewers, Lemon C gritted her teeth and announced that her “main mission” for the day was to “squat” in Great Boss’s livestream and watch the cat together. This announcement was met with cheers from the fans who wanted to see both their favorite streamer and the “drama.”
Unfortunately, the following streamers weren’t as shamelessly fun as Lemon C. Most were just singing or dancing. Ji Qingyue simply stated her purpose, sent a Rocket gift as an apology, and moved on.
As the novelty wore off, the crowd began to thin. This allowed a different set of comments to bubble up to the surface: “Why won’t you show your face?” “Are you guilty?” “Is it because you aren’t actually the person from the Silhouette video?”
Ji Qingyue ignored them. Just as she finished an apology link, a sudden, unsolicited link-up request popped up. Ji Qingyue frowned, her list of apologies was carefully curated. She told her staff to decline it, but the request kept spamming her, becoming a headache.
Left with no choice, Ji Qingyue apologized to the other streamers waiting in line and accepted the link.
The woman who appeared was only mildly attractive and had an average build, despite her tight-fitting clothes. This was A-Luo, a dance streamer whose only claim to fame was her “twerk dance.” Her firm, rounded backside had been her primary selling point. However, perhaps due to a lack of recent exercise, her shape had changed.
When the Silhouette incident went viral, trolls compared every streamer to the silhouette, and A-Luo was mocked the harshest. People compared her old photos to her current ones and then to the silhouette, with some even claiming she used padding. Her follower count plummeted.
A-Luo was petty. She blamed everything on Ji Qingyue. Since Ji Qingyue hadn’t been active, A-Luo couldn’t retaliate, until today. She had spent the last few minutes acting cute to her fans before aggressively requesting the link. She was furious when Ji Qingyue declined her at first.
When the connection finally went through, A-Luo felt goosebumps seeing the black cat’s green eyes staring at her.
Before Ji Qingyue could speak, A-Luo scoffed sarcastically, “Oh, isn’t this our internet-famous Silhouette Beauty? Where’s the beauty? Why is there only a cat?”
Ji Qingyue, hearing from Sister Zhang that A-Luo was the only streamer who had actually lost followers, felt a bit guilty and was prepared to take a few insults. She replied playfully, “Sister Luo is joking. No beauty, only a kitty. This account only records my heroic deeds. Humans only slow down the speed at which I draw my sword.”
As Ji Qingyue spoke, Great Boss shook its head and flicked its tail with an arrogant, adorable look. The audience was melting.
“Refining spirits is not allowed after the founding of the PRC!” (A meme about animals acting too human/magical)
Ji Qingyue struck while the iron was hot. “Of course, no spirit refining! So, everyone, let’s give the lady on the other side a follow.”
With 300,000 people in the room, the “pity follows” poured in. A-Luo’s follower count shot up, quickly surpassing what she had lost. A normal streamer would have accepted the apology and the followers with a smile. But A-Luo was bitter.
“I can’t accept being called ‘Sister’ by someone who hides behind a cat to avoid trouble. I’m afraid I’ll catch your bad luck.”
Ji Qingyue: ??? Great Boss: ??? Netizens: ???
The comment section exploded.
Is this girl crazy? Unfollowed. I’m afraid her stupidity is contagious. The host is being fun and you’re being a toxic brat. Who do you think you are?
Viewers swarmed A-Luo’s room to bash her. In a space meant for entertainment, where Great Boss was being cute and Ji Qingyue was being a good sport, no one wanted this negativity.
Seeing the surge of people, A-Luo was happy at first, but her face darkened as the insults piled up. Finally, she snapped.
“What kind of trash streamer doesn’t even show her face? You’re all like licking dogs for a dead cat! Is it because you saw her body and want to sleep with her? You guys are disgusting!”
Ji Qingyue’s brows furrowed. But before she could handle it, Great Boss who had been sitting quietly lost its temper.
“Meow meow meow! Meow meow meow meow meow!!”
A relentless string of feline cursing stunned the staff and the viewers. Great Boss’s fur stood on end, its green eyes flashed with fury, and its little mouth was going a mile a minute. Though no one spoke “Cat,” it was clear these weren’t compliments.
People remembered that Great Boss originally went viral for “cursing so dirty” it made other cats’ fur stand up.
Holy cow, it’s happening live! Stop cursing! My cat is so mad he’s started scratching me! Great Boss, stop the spell! I’m walking down the street and I’ve been surrounded by strays!
While the netizens joked, Great Boss suddenly flopped onto the cushion. Just as everyone thought it was tired, it kicked its back leg up and placed its two front paws on either side of it.
Using two paws and one leg, it perfectly executed a very “friendly” international hand gesture (the middle finger).
And it didn’t stop vocalizing: “Meow meow meow! MEOW!”
I get it. Translation: Get lost! I get it too: Drop dead!
A-Luo was stunned that a cat could pull off such a move. Great Boss, disgusted by her face, hopped off the chair, jumped toward the main screen, and under the gaze of hundreds of thousands, pressed its paw down and disconnected the call.
Host, send the kid to school. Don’t let him miss out on a PhD. WTF! Is this really not a spirit in a cat’s body?!
Seeing the comments about to spiral into “supernatural” territory, Ji Qingyue quickly apologized and ended the stream. The screen went black, leaving viewers in a daze.
Lemon C’s fans quickly rallied: “Lemon C watched the whole thing! Brothers, let’s go to her room to discuss!” The crowd rushed over to Lemon C, who was practically ecstatic with the sudden traffic.
Meanwhile, Ji Qingyue looked at the innocent-looking Great Boss and let out a long sigh.
“Great Boss… do you think someone’s going to take you to a lab for slicing tomorrow?”
Great Boss: ???!!!
