- After Transmigrating as a Wealthy Woman: Donβt You Dare Touch My Baby! [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 105 - The Creator and the GodβFate Reunited
The next morning, Zhu Xingtong woke up early and prepared. She abandoned her bulky cotton jacket for a slim wool coat and knee-high boots that showcased her long, straight legs. With light makeup, she looked stunning in the mirror.
She knocked on the neighbor’s door. “Teacher Xiao Zhong, letβs go! Time for the dates!”
Zhong Ying was warming milk. When she saw Xingtongβs outfit, her brow furrowed into a deep V. “Aren’t you cold in that?”
Xingtong struck a pose. “Beauty is more important than warmth.”
In the past, her cub would have nagged her to death. But since they hadn’t “officially” recognized each other, Xingtong felt she could do whatever she wanted.
Zhong Ying sighed and walked into her closet. “I have a long down jacket that’s a bit small for me. Youβre wearing it.”
Xingtong pouted. A long down jacket? Thatβll make me look like a walking sleeping bag!Β But when she put it on, it fit perfectlyβbust, waist, and hips. Xingtong felt a pang of realization. Thereβs no such thing as “just happens to fit.” This woman prepared clothes for me!
An hour later, Xingtong was bundled up, carrying a bottle of milk, and leading Zhong Ying to a bookstore before their scheduled “dates.”
She found a copy of her own book, Quick Transmigration: I Am the Big Heroine.
“Why buy this? You wrote it,” Zhong Ying asked.
“Because itβs useful.”
They sat in a nearby cafe. Xingtong pushed the book toward Zhong Ying and held her milk bottle solemnly. “You asked who I liked. Itβs her.” She pointed to the name Zhong YingΒ on the page.
Zhong Ying smiled thinly. “She has the same name as me. Is this a confession?”
“No,” Xingtong shook her head. “I’m just telling you her story.”
Xingtong spoke of her low point in lifeβthe sweltering summer after graduation when she couldn’t find a job, and how her mother worked so hard to support her. She had poured all her struggles into the character of Zhong Ying.
“I gave her a system, I gave her cheats, and she became strong. My life got better as she grew,” Xingtong whispered. “Then I had a dream. I dreamed I traveled into the book. I found her. I gave her my love, my family, and I stood by her even when the whole world feared her.”
Xingtongβs eyes grew misty. “It wasn’t just me saving her. It was mutual salvation. My life was empty, but she changed that. Iβll never find anyone like her again.”
Zhong Yingβs voice was hoarse. “Maybe you just wanted to compensate her.”
“I thought that at first,” Xingtong wiped a tear. “But we were married for years. Thatβs not compensation. Thatβs love.”
Xingtong looked up and saw a tear fall from Zhong Yingβs eye. “Cub, why are you crying?”
Zhong Ying wiped her eyes, her cold facade crumbling. “Zhu Xiaobao… did you know it was me all along?”
Xingtong giggled. “It was easy to guess. I told you once that when I got old, I wanted to open a cafe and write while you brewed coffee. My cub would never forget that.”
“Then why didn’t you say anything?” Xingtong puffed out her cheeks. “I missed you so much!”
“Because the little phoenix was eaten by the Mara,” Zhong Ying said, her gaze intense. “I was furious that you died and left me. I had to give you a little scare.”
Their reunion was interrupted by a voice. “Excuse me, your Mocha?”
The cafe owner stood thereβa beautiful woman about 25. She looked at Xingtong with a spark of recognition. “Zhu Xingtong? You don’t remember me? I sat behind you in high school.”
“Jiang Lian?!” Xingtong gasped.
This was a disaster. A high school crush “Shura Field.”
Jiang Lian smiled warmly. “It’s been years. You’re still as cute as you were in school.”
Zhong Yingβs expression turned icy. Jiang Lian continued, “I saw your mom the other day. She mentioned your blind dates. Is… she your date?” She glanced at Zhong Ying.
“Haha… no, we’re just friends…” Xingtong sweated.
“I opened this cafe because you always used to say you wanted one,” Jiang Lian said softly. “I thought if I built it, you might come back and visit.”
The air in the cafe dropped twenty degrees.
Zhong Ying stood up abruptly. “Bill, please.”
Outside, Zhong Yingβs voice was like a frozen blade. “The high school crush?”
“It… it was a long time ago!” Xingtong clung to her arm. “Are you really that mad? Not even a hug or a kiss?”
Zhong Ying stopped. “You still have to go on your blind dates.”
Xingtong smiled brilliantly. “I never made any appointments. Youβre my only date today, silly cub.”
Zhong Ying looked at her deeply. “Does that mean I can do whatever I want?”
Xingtong nodded tearfully. “Yes.”
Suddenly, the world spun. Before Xingtong could blink, they were no longer on the street. They were in a bedroom, standing before a large black-and-white bed.
“Teleportation?!” Xingtong gasped.
Zhong Ying pinned her down, her breath hot against Xingtongβs neck. She whispered the words Xingtong had written into the golden script:
“She is no ordinary person… she is the favorite of the Creator… she was granted the power to shake the heavens: the Power of a True God.”
Zhong Ying nibbled her ear. “Did you forget? You gave me this power, my Creator. My power exists so I can find you across any world.”
“But… in this world…”
“No more talking,” Zhong Ying silenced her with a deep, hungry kiss. “We have years of lost time to make up for.”
